Canvas Restaurant & Market is known for its beautiful lakeside location and relaxed atmosphere. Many reviewers praise the food quality and flavor, especially the crab cakes and hash. However, some customers report inconsistent service, long waits, and overpriced food.
Tip: Make a reservation, especially for popular times like Father's Day brunch, as the restaurant can get very busy. Request a table with a lake view for an enhanced experience.
True this place for the first time, so good that we went again over the weekend with my parents and my brother. Servers were welcoming and attentive. Food was as delicious as it looked. Atmosphere was calm and cozy. I like that they make everything fresh and have a daily chanting chalkboard menu. I wish I would’ve taken a picture of my brothers chocolate burbon drink.
Decided to try a new place for brunch today! We were definitely satisfied. Our server Liz was super attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable! Got a visit from the manager, Heather, who was also very friendly and welcoming. The food was sooooooo good. I got the calamari to start and the crab cake Benedict and man oh man, I know I should have stopped but I just couldn't. My husband got the loaded potatoes to start and the Cuban sandwich. Everything was absolutely amazing. Our drinks were 10/10. He got his classic old fashioned and said it was one of the best he's ever had. I got the Nona Sunrise and was very pleased with the well balanced flavors. And of course, sitting by that beautiful lake just tied everything into a pretty little bow for sure. Will 100% be going back!
I sat on the screened in patio with the water view and ordered the tuna tartar for starters and for lunch, the fried cod on a brioche bun. Both were very good. I believe it's a house made tartar sauce that comes with cod. They have more than a few substitution options if you don't want fries. I chose a side house salad with a lemon-thyme vinaigrette.
Great restaurant at the heart of Lake Nona community in Orlando, beautiful view of the lake and sunsets…great food, drinks and the customer service is top notch. They also offer breakfast and coffee if you go in the mornings! Great place to hang out!
What a great location for a restaurant, right of the water in a nice walkable community. The atmosphere is open with a lot of natural light. I would recommend this place for a social dinner or date. Our appetizers were great, the main dishes were plated nicely and taste as good as they looked. The service was good. I look forward to visiting again.
Canvas Restaurant & Market is an absolute standout: beautiful location on the lake, relaxed atmosphere, and a menu that truly delivers. I tried a variety of dishes and was blown away by the quality and flavor across the board. The crab cakes were perfectly seared and packed with fresh crab meat, served with a sauce that added just the right amount of zing. The blackened fish tacos were a favorite; bold, flavorful, and topped with fresh ingredients that made every bite pop. The cheeseburgers were juicy and cooked to perfection, great for anyone craving a classic done right. And the poke bowl was So fresh, well-balanced, and loaded with vibrant toppings that made it both healthy and satisfying. The service was excellent, and the waterside views just added to the experience. Whether you’re going for a laid-back lunch or a nice dinner out, Canvas hits all the right notes. Highly recommend!
What a lovely place! It's a mix of Latin style dishes with an American flair. I enjoyed a tray of mussels not with sauce but served steaming on a fajita tray! The salt and Parmesan flavors were intense and delicious. I paired it with a spicy cucumber salad and yucca frita. Overall very lovely.y dining companions enjoyed the pork shoulder which was offered as a special on this visit. Service was fantastic and drink prices were reasonable.
Visiting the area and found this super chill restaurant. The food was spectacular and freshly made to order. I really appreciated my waiter and his service - the restaurant overall seemed a bit understaffed during my visit, but it was still very pleasant. There were plenty of vegetarian options available and the drinks were on point.
First time going to Canvas and it was awesome! We’ve heard so many positive comments from others and couldn’t wait to try it out. The food was amazing and the team was super friendly and helpful. The chef and managers checked on our table and ensured we were enjoying everything. We tried several appetizers and entrees across our party of 4 and all were super tasty. Can’t wait to come back and try their other options and brunch service. Thank you for a great dinner and night out!

Father's Day brunch and first time eating here. Atmosphere great and located next to a lake. Great views. Good thing we had reservations. This restaurant tends to be very popular, and without reservations, who knows how long the wait is. We seated by lake view, and we were greeted by our server, Matias. He was very friendly and attentive. We ended up ordering the calamari and yuka fries for appetizers. The calamari was cooked perfectly, not rubbery or undercooked. Great flavor and well-seasoned. The yuka fries were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. It came with an avocado aoli dipping sauce. Very good. Our main courses were biscuits and gravy that came with sunny side eggs and the breakfast deck plate (as I can recall). The biscuits were not traditional in the sense they were square and more like bread. Crispy on the outside and light on the inside. Can definitely taste buttermilk. And the gravy was good, not too salty, and actually had pieces of sausage in it. This came with potatoes (light and crispy, seasoned well). The breakfast plate had scrambled eggs, potatoes, english muffins, and your choice of bacon, pork, or turkey sausage. I went with the turkey sausage. Everything was good. Eggs were not overcooked. Same potatoes as the other plate. The english muffins were lightly toasted, and the turkey sausages were tasty. No jelly or butter or condiments provided, UNLESS you ask for them. For dessert, we got a coconut sundae with mango and toasted coconut and bread pudding. Both were delicious. The only issue was they took a long time to be served, but Matias explained the delay and apologized and let us know that because of the long delay, we were not being charged for them. Hence, the issue was resolved. It was a great dining experience, and I highly recommend eating here. We will definitely come back.

Came here for a Christmas work dinner. Our CEO reserved a room inside the restaurant, which was very nice a little on the small side for the number of guests we had but the views were AMAZING. Service was great, they had 3 staff members running the show which was great they were quick, very friendly and professional. The salmon was delicious I loved how well it was made and the potatoes were the perfect combination. I will need to return on a regular day because it was very nice inside and I loved the decor indoor and outdoor seating.
My partner and I went for lunch and we loved it! The beignets were delicious and not too sweet. The blueberry compote was fresh and warm. We split two entrées and they were both amazing! The eggs benedict with jalapeños had an amazing flavour and the biscuits were both soft and crisp. The Meyer lemon pancakes were also not too sweet but soo fluffy and crispy. The staff were polite and helpful, offering to turn the heaters on since we sat on the patio. Our server also had mocktail option ideas for us since we did not want an alcoholic drinks. I will 100% come back to eat and enjoy the view!
You gotta check this place out. I had some amazing smoked steak, scallops, calamari, and key lime pie here. Definitely closer to $$$ than $$ but it's worth it. Location/atmosphere = 5 stars. On the water Food quality = 5 stars. Service = 5 stars. Price = $30 for main plate, $12 cocktails Indoor and outdoor seating. Very nice facilities. Plenty of parking.
Brunch to die for!!! Calamari was my super fav!!! everything delicious and fresh. Super friendly staff. Exquisite latte! Eggs Benedict are perfect the hollandaise sauce was perfectly balanced between citrusy and rich, very good! The biscuits were crispy on the outside and super soft inside delicious 🤤 best biscuits in town by FAR! This restaurant is the best place for a Sunday brunch with friends or family. The restaurant inside and outside is beautiful
This restaurant has been on my go to list for a while. I wish I would have went sooner!!! What a gem! The service was great. The Canvas Paloma was so delicious. The food, everything was cooked to perfection. The fish felt like it melted… tartar sauce was soooo yummy!!!! The chicken was perfectly cooked, not too much breading. We had the blueberry cobbler for dessert (I forgot to take a picture), a great way to end our meal. I can’t wait to go back!
After driving around and wanting to try something spontaneous and new to us, we saw from across the lake a place on the water and we became determined to find it and it's a restaurant! It's definitely a 5 star restaurant with a great view. They have a new menu now from what I was told. We both ended up getting the chicken sandwiches and both were AMAZING and the mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy were delicious! I normally hate mushrooms but this was great! Our waitress was super sweet and efficient! Loved the music and the vibe as well. Definitely recommend for a special day out! Thanks Canvas for being there for our 12th anniversary! 💖 We'll definitely be back!
The restaurant itself is super pretty and sits right on a lake with big windows to see it all. The food options were fantastic and the drinks as well. I enjoyed every part of my meal here.
David was our server, he was excellent and offered many suggestions. I loved how passionate he was about certain dishes. This is the perfect date nice. I’m always looking for a romantic ambiance and this place has it. You get a beautiful view from almost anywhere you sit. Food was excellent, service was excellent, everything was clean. We don’t usually come back to places because we like trying new place but this is on our list if we have family coming in town!
I was going to be in the area and wanted to find a nice place to work half day and have a good latte. It sure did not disappoint! It is located inside Canvas and you can order at the marketplace counter as soon as you walk in. The decor is beautiful and makes it very welcoming and resembles a nice library. There are some tables, sofas and outside seating. Keep in mind it gets busy, so you may have to wait for a good spot. I was lucky to find seating after I ordered. I ordered a latte with skim milk (glad they carried it) and the bacon egg and cheese sandwich. My order took a bit, but I was not in a rush, so no problem. That peach jam with the bacon on the oat cibatta roll was delicious and made up for it! The staff is nice, friendly and attentive. They are cleaning on a regular basis and making sure the place looks neat and beautiful. I will definitely be back and this time, to try the restaurant.
Before you go any further, there's a brand new menu as of 4/18/2024, and it's a very positive change! I've been coming to Canvas for years now. The views are beautiful, service is always great, and the atmosphere is comforting. If I can be honest, the one thing that was always lacking for me was the food. But... we dined at the bar last night and tried out several things on the new menu: Grilled Chicken Cutlet Sandwich, French Dip, Flatbread, Mac & Cheese, and the Nutella Donuts. SO GOOD!! We were blown away at how delicious everything was! The portions are large as well. Everyone around us at the bar was raving about what they ordered. It was really great to hear. I look forward to trying everything else on the menu soon. Also, if you work from home and need a change of scenery, the bar area is an excellent place to work and enjoy lunch. They have outlets under the bar for your laptop/phone as well.
My husband and I went for the Valentine’s Day dinner and it didn’t disappoint! It was a four course meal and everything was cooked to perfection. It was pricey, but for four courses and two glasses of sparkling wine, it was worth it. We got to watch the sunset and cows grazing along the lake, so the setting was pretty great too.
This restaurant is off the beaten path and a total gem! I reserved seating for a small group. We arrived on time and was immediately seated. The entryway and front part of the restaurant was a cute vibe and tastefully decorated. I love when places incorporate IG memorable photo backgrounds. We were seated in the back overlooking the lake-just splendid! Our waitress, named Heaven, what a wonderful name. She had the same spunky upbeat vibe like our little group. Heaven, was a pure delight. The food was not a disappointment. My dishes were delicious. This restaurant will be added to my rotation.
The food is usually pretty good. Great spot to meet with friends, and the atmosphere isn't too loud. The drinks are great. Service is just okay. Things take a while to arrive. Surprisingly, the coffee tastes watered down. Considering there is a coffee shop there we expected more. Overall would return.
Great atmosphere and view of the lake, service is on point and the food is delicious. Went for brunch and started with their loaded breakfast potatoes that were delicious and I highly recommend. Followed it up with some good old Fried chicken wings that were seasoned perfectly and extra crispy. Then went to try their Mussels that came out steaming hot and were hit the spot. Did taste fishy and all they needed were some salt and lemon that come with the dish. As my entree I had their steak eggs which was as good as one would expect. Oh and I can forget about the amazing cornbread. Fluffy, moist and flavorful. Perfect to go along with an plate your order. Will be back when in the area and recommend everyone gives this place a try. It does not disappoint
Took my mom here for Mother's Day and had a wonderful time. I ordered the grilled octopus for an appetizer, and the skirt steak for my entree. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and the staff was friendly (Heaven was our server, she was honest, knowledgeable, and attentive), and the restaurant had lots of seating options, indoor/outdoor/bar. Beautiful interior and exterior, and we loved the "glass house" just outside for photo ops.
Oh this place is very aesthetically pleasing upon entrance. Located in Lake Nona. Great lighting, cute coffee and treats bar, fun waiting area. Very busy for brunch. The restaurant is much larger than it appears with inside and outside seating. Views of the water. Also ideal for hosting an event with plenty of privacy. My adorable brunch crew had a blast as we drank mimosas, ate food and laughed hysterically sharing stories. Obviously everything is better with good company. Was kind of stung by the price of mimosas when we saw an add online stating $12 bottomless....yet when we arrived and I asked they said $20 premixed and $22 for bubbles giving you more champagne that you add juice to. Service seemed a bit stretched, but that’s to be expected everywhere these days. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and would definitely go back again! Would love to try dinner here one evening.
Very interesting and modern eclectic vibe. We were just 2, but it seems like a great place for smaller or larger sized parties as there are doors and curtains to separate. The outside space looks good for weddings or Quinceaneras. Too late for us. The food was great. The manager, Sydnee was very attentive too, not just the waitress. The water view was very nice. We did Orlando Magical dining menu. So much food. It was 2 meals for us. The mojo pork was delicious. Tequila shrimp were a great surprise, spicy sweet. Can't wait to go back.
One of my favorite places to go for brunch. Went here in a date :-) we arrived late. But they were able to seat us as soon as we got there. The restaurant is nice over looking the lake and they play music very low. Semi busy but just right amount of people there. Our waiter was great and checked on us frequently. Food and drinks didn't take long to come out. I get the same thing every time I go crispy bacon hash skillet and it comes with a biscuit and I had a nice glass of champagne. They do have bottomless which is worth it I had it few times when I go to brunch with my girls.
From the moment we enter, the great service and the kind people blew my mind. The place it’s beautiful, reasonable pricing and delicious. But as good as the food is, the service it’s the biggest keeper. I have no words to describe how sweet, helpful, nice and friendly was Roy, our server. She took I-couldn’t-tell-how-many picture, gave us many advices to order and even recommend us places to visit and spots to take pictures. We were there for a birthday and brought our own cake and they even but a ‘happy birthday’ sign on it. There’s nothing I could complain about this place. Highly recommend: yuca fries, lobster Benedict and chilaquiles.
Unbelievable atmosphere, so relaxing and the service was impeccable. Fantastic food which my family ordered all different entrées, appetizers and drinks. Absolutely a wonderful dining experience. Plan on going again.
I recently visited Canvas Restaurant , and while there were a few unexpected hiccups, the overall experience was still enjoyable. The main dish was not served together, which was a bit puzzling at first, as we had hoped to enjoy everything at once. However, the food that did arrive was absolutely delicious, The flavors were rich, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. What truly impressed me, though, was the exceptional service. Even though we didn’t bring up the delay or issue with the main dish, Ryan and the manager proactively addressed the situation by waiving the charge for our appetizer and offering a generous gift card for our next visit. It was a thoughtful gesture that really enhanced our overall experience and made us feel valued as customers. Despite the minor setback with the timing of our meal, the food was wonderful, and the way the restaurant handled the situation showed great professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction. I’ll definitely be returning to Canvas Marketplace in the future, and I recommend it to anyone looking for tasty dishes and a restaurant that goes above and beyond to ensure a positive experience.

So admittedly, I may have been very hungry at the time. The chicken lemon piccata was out of this world amazing. I planned on taking it home but couldn’t help myself and ate at all. I then had some type of bread pudding for dessert that I also wanted to take home, but I finished it before I made it to my car. In the past, I tried their yuca fries, which were out of this world as well.
First time brunching here since it’s a half hour drive from where I live. The atmosphere is spectacular, the crab cakes Benedict was divine, and the drinks were nothing less than perfection. The service could’ve been better - from the hostess who sat us (no energy, no questions, no conversation whatsoever) very lackluster. Our server (I think her name is Ann?) she was very knowledgeable about the menu and answered all of our questions - but never got us water (we were sitting on the patio on a very hot day) I had to go find her to remind her we needed water. A lovely gentleman who I remember seeing at the hostess stand came by to ask how we were and if he could clear some plates. As once again our server was MIA. My first time here and I would come back for maybe just the drinks alone at the bar - not particularly happy about the service which makes the experience.
Good food in a fun atmosphere with a water view! They had some interesting cocktails that we had to try and thought were very good and balanced. The food options felt a little limited, but the Mahi Mahi tacos and burger we had were tasty. The atmosphere was great and we had good service, so we'd come back and definitely try something new!
I love the atmosphere in the restaurant and the view of the lake is stunning. My family and I did the weekend brunch and there were so many good options. We got the meatball Wellington as an app and I would’ve ordered one just for myself because it was so good. I got the crispy chicken sandwich; the chicken was very flavorful and then sandwich was huge! We also got some of the desserts. The toasted coconut ice box cake was my favorite and it’s definitely going to be my go to dessert from now on. Overall a great experience and great menu choices.
The new brunch menu is worth every penny! They provide large portions & well balanced flavors. The ricotta spread was so delicious, you have to try it! I was so happy to see they added more vegetarian options to this & their regular menu. 🙌 The place looks great. With those giant light fixtures, there's no signs of dust or decay. They actually recently took down their famous glass house for refurbishment. Make sure you bring it back Canvas! The new marketplace is adorable too. The barista was exceptionally sweet & accommodating to modifications. They have tea options, coffee options, milk options, & even some grab & go breakfast sandwiches. The kids even had a cuty brunch menu with crayons. I'm a sucker for provided entertainment! Everything remains on their brand, but elevated. I'm so glad for the change because I still stand that it's the best view in Orlando.
Went for light snacks and drinks for a holiday happy hour with colleagues. Waited 20 minutes to be seated, despite a reservation for a party of 3. Restaurant was not busy, many open tables. The petite brunette hostess was aloof. The manager and our sever compensated the aloofness by being sincere, warm, and friendly. Happy hour appetizers were delicious. Drinks were perfect. Very attentive team. Enjoyed our time despite the not so warm welcome from the hostess.
Went to have dinner on Saturday with my wife and the staff was very accommodating ; we waited 3 minutes for our table and didn't have a reservation; our server Daniella was awesome! She recommended the mussels and calamari; both great; the manager lady checked on us couple times and the service was just great! Will come back with my family !!!
First time at Canvas and it did not disappoint. We were seated right away even without reservations, and our server, Ryan Wellover, made the experience genuinely enjoyable. He recommended his favorite dish—the Hash—and I’m so glad I took his advice. It was delicious, flavorful without being overpowering, and the portions were generous. The restaurant was a bit noisy, but the fabulous food and beautiful views more than made up for it. I’d definitely recommend Canvas and look forward to returning

I had brunch here today to celebrate my friend’s birthday. I had ordered the avocado toast with a side of turkey sausage and I absolutely loved it! (Totally forgot to take a picture) but my friend took a picture of her order which was the tuna tarte and the eggs Benedict, also divine. The atmosphere was very laid-back and the view of the lake was gorgeous. The service on the other hand was lacking. The table had to constantly look for our server in order to fill the bottomless mimosas, which therefore did end up making us feel as if we were bothering the server.

This was a really cute place to stop for lunch with a friend on the way to the airport. Only about 15 minutes from the terminal. The food was good and the service was quick. My friend had a salad and I had the French dip sandwich with a side salad. My only complaint was that I wish the menu had more options. Will have to return to try cocktails some time!
All around this was pretty good. We set up a set menu which was generally great, with the exception of their house salad. It was wilted lettuce that was generally uninspired ingredients with a good feta tossed on top. It was quite outlier of the evening. The prime rib was great. The yuca fries were the best I have ever had. The grilled bread was heavenly.
We came on December 11th and we loved the food and the place! The flavors were great and the dessert was amazing. The view of the lake was beautiful and our server was friendly. Not 5 starts because the hostess barely spoke to us and had a negative attitude, we could see from our table how she treated the other guests as well, it was almost like if she was annoyed by everyone. Different from that, everything was perfect!
First time here for lunch and truly enjoyed every bit of it . The atmosphere and the service are amazing , you add good food with fresh ingredients and you end up with very good experience like the one we just had . We ordered the Habanaro Wings ( not spice at all ) , spicy meatballs ( not spice at all ) , fish tacos ( pretty big ) and Tuna Poke Ball ( tasty ) .
Nice location in the Lake Nona Community. The restaurant has a lake view. The Buffalo Wings with ranch dressing were great during the brunch period.
Nice place. Usually, we have the breakfast burrito in the market (which is delicious), so we tried lunch in the restaurant. The service was very good. Staff is friendly. However, the food was tasty but very salty. This meal will definitively exceed our salt requirements for a week. During lunch, it can be a bit loud, but it's a nice place to have lunch with a view. Overall, it was a nice place to eat, but maybe the next meal will be a salad.
THIS has got to be one of THE cutest most tastiest restaurants I've been to. It was delicious even though there was a hair in my eggs 🙄. Despite that one oops that they quickly corrected, the food, the atmosphere was spectacular! The waitress was okay; I've had better. She provided good service and she kept my bottomless mimosas full! Had I not had a hair in my food, I would definitely give this place a 5-star rating. Loved it!!
This is one of our go to restaurants. But Sunday we went around 130, and it was very busy. They seated us after 15 minutes and after we placed our order, it took us an hour and 10 minutes to get our food. It was not the waitresses fault, but she did not Come and check on us refill our iced teas or our coffee or even say sorry that you’re having such a long wait until I flagged her down and asked her what was taking so long. I believe management there needs to train their staff better and possibly get some more chefs in there on Sundays! But the food was delicious.
A very tasty brunch spot with a great atmosphere for spending time with family or friends. The food is delicious and offers a good variety, and the beautiful view enhances the experience. However, the service is quite slow and there’s a long wait for the food. Also, the prices are high considering the portion sizes. Still, it’s a nice place to enjoy a special outing—just make sure you’re not in a hurry.
First time visiting, just for an early birthday dinner with the family. The location was beautiful, and the service was excellent. She was so friendly and helpful, her recommendations were spot on. I really enjoyed my meal, which included beets (something not everyone is a fan of), but it was full of flavor. The yucca fries were too sweet for me, so I wouldn't order that again. We also ordered the filet mignon, which was a bit pricey, but everyone loved it. Overall, we had a good time.
It was my mom's birthday and I wanted to take her somewhere special. This place inside and outside is absolutely fabulous and high class. The waiter was very helpful and super sweet. I got the fried cob with french fries. I would say I enjoyed it but wouldn't get it the next time. The best thing we had that day was the crab cakes which were damn good and were stuffed to the max with fresh crab meat. We order 4. My mom definitely enjoyed herself and had a great birthday brunch overall.
Vibes were great for a brunch. Got sat right next to the water, so we got to see the cows chewing on grass the whole time! Recommend getting a reservation as the restaurant always seemed busy, but the service was fast. We ordered the corn fritters, queso dip, breakfast skillet, and salmon florentine benedict.
Food was great! Service was a bit slow for a Tuesday at first after we got there at 530pm. Celebrating my daughter's birthday 🎂 Overall good vibe, food! We had the calamari for appetizer, (2) 12 Oz steaks, also (1) steak bites for my son in law and birthday girl had the (1) pork roast. Ordered side of truffle fries and Brussels sprouts! 2 mock tails for birthday girl and one signature titos for me! AND the chocolate creme for bday girl! Spent a little over $300+ for 4 ppl included tip!
Our family recently visited Canvas Restaurant & Market in Lake Nona, and while there were definitely some highlights, the overall experience left me with mixed feelings. The atmosphere and setting were the strongest part of our visit, but unfortunately, the service and food execution didn’t quite measure up to the expectations we had coming in. Starting with the positives, the location is stunning. Canvas sits right on the lake, and the outdoor covered patio provides one of the most beautiful dining backdrops in the Lake Nona area. It’s peaceful, scenic, and truly one of the best spots in Orlando to sit and relax while enjoying a meal. The vibe of the restaurant is modern yet warm, and it’s the kind of place you could easily bring family, friends, or even clients to impress them with the atmosphere alone. Now onto the food and service, where things got a little more uneven. Service was noticeably slow from the very beginning. Our drinks took longer than expected to arrive, and throughout the meal our server did not refill drinks without being asked. Dirty plates sat at our table for longer than they should have, which made the experience feel a bit less polished, especially given the caliber of restaurant Canvas presents itself to be. As for the food itself, there were some standouts but also several disappointments. We started with the Nutella donuts as an appetizer, and while they were absolutely delicious, warm, soft, and full of flavor, it took nearly 25 minutes for them to arrive at the table. For something labeled as a starter, that kind of delay really slowed down the meal. The main entrées brought more inconsistency. I tried the Crab Eggs Benedict, which had wonderful flavor overall, but the execution fell short. A key part of any Benedict is the runny yolk, and unfortunately the eggs were cooked through and lacked that creamy texture that makes the dish special. The Mojo Pork Benedict suffered from the same issue, the flavor of the pork was great, but the eggs were again overcooked, which made the dish less enjoyable. Other items ordered at the table included the Biscuits and Gravy, which were decent but somewhat dry. There was too much biscuit compared to the amount of gravy, making the dish feel unbalanced. The kids’ pancake and sausage plate was fine, nothing particularly memorable, but certainly acceptable for a children’s menu option. The fresh fruit on the side, however, was a bit aged and not as vibrant or fresh as you’d hope for at brunch. To sum it up: Canvas has incredible potential. The setting is unmatched, and some of the flavors show real promise. However, the slow service, lack of attention to detail, and inconsistent food execution really stood out on our visit. With quicker, more attentive service and more care in the kitchen to get the small things right (like properly runny poached eggs), Canvas could easily become a top brunch destination in Orlando. For now, I’d recommend going more for the atmosphere than the food, but I hope to see improvements on my next visit.
Service was deficient. We had to ask for everything and were never asked if food was good etc, and ir wasn’t. French toasts were DRY and hard, horrible. Strawberry jam had lemon extract and ruined the taste. Benedicts were good in flavor but overcooked and not runny. We ordered a drink na dit was drenched in sugar, undrinkable. Coffee ordered an espresso and was drip watery coffee. Very disappointed!
This is one of your usual fairly overpriced restaurants in the up and coming area or Orlando, lake Nona. Filled with industrial vibe decor, the food offerings are quite lacking in quality. Chicken sandwich was probably the tastiest thing of the 5 things we ordered. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. Beer battered cod was beyond disappointing, with only a tiny tiny piece of fish encrusted into a huge amount of deep fried batter, which was crunchy, but that was about its only merit. Our waiter was attentive and provided good service. We got to the restaurant between lunch and dinner, so they really weren’t busy at all. We asked to be seated in one of the rooms facing the lake (with a view) and were told that we couldn’t sit there because there were parties booked there that were supposed to start at 4 pm. No one showed by for those “parties” at 4 or even 5 pm. We were disappointed to not get the nice view, but it sounded like they just wanted to bunch people in one room to make it easier tor serving. Overall, not a super memorable or great experience and I wouldn’t really recommend this restaurant.
The food was expensive but meh. In my opinion foe the price the food should have been better. Sitting on the lake was amazing, even in the downpour lightening storm. The service was interesting because we had 3 different people deliver us the food - I hope the tips are shared.

We were a party of 8 with a 5:15 reservation Three of us arrived at 5 and went to the bar for HH. When the other 5 arrived we were told our reservation was at 5:15 and even though it was 5:10 and no one was eating in the restaurant part we were told our reservation wait. ( plenty of staff). So, at 5:13 the hostess said she would seat us. I said how can you when it’s only 5:13! It set the tone for an unpleasant evening. We spent a lot of money tonight and left feeling your management could care less!! Two hostesses and two managers crowding the hostess stand. The servers was good, the food was good but your team needs a lesson in hospitality!..truthfully, all in all, we were not impressed!
Food is good but not great or excellent. Service is really good. The restaurant vibe is good, chill and relax with good views of the lake. The appetizers were really good. We ordered: mussels, calamari and octopus. We really liked all three. There were not too many options for mains. We had the pork ribs and chicken; it was okay.
I have been before and I wasn’t bad but this time around I was not at all wowed. Our server was great! We were a big group and she did amazing. The appetizers were really good and I would definitely get them again. The cubano was not good at all. The Yuca fries were my favorite and I could of eaten 2 more orders of those. The desserts were really good. We all share to taste but the cheesecake was my favorite. For the price it’s okay foodwise. It’s definitely a cute spot for pics and again the service is great. If I go again I would stick to getting the salmon.
Always heard a lot good things about this place so I decided to try since it’s really far away from where I live. For service and atmosphere are 5 stars, however for food, I would say it’s just so so. The appetizer calamari fries is great, but the entree to be honest is just average. The biscuit you can tastes looks of butter but it’s bone dry and it’s really hard for the shell. The skillet is just normal egg and potato nothing special. I guess if you are here for drinks then yes but if for food I would say it’s not worth it. There are much more fancier and delicious restaurants outside.
It took 20 minutes for someone to stop at our table after we sat down. the menu is very simple with just a few options. I had the chicken sandwich- huge portion but tasteless! Absolutely no flavor. The chicken had no seasoning. One of my friends had the classic beignets and the other had salad with chicken. We weren’t impressed. Also, we requested to move inside because it was very hot outside and the hostess never came back to bring us in. We were completely ignored. In my opinion, this restaurant doesn’t have an identity and the food is plain! Would not go back! Forgot to mention the $7 lemonade Lol not even real lemonade! Wth!
Poor service, middling food—too busy by far for what you end up getting. We waited nearly an hour for our food, and it just wasn’t worth it. Server was nice, but overwhelmed, I think. Very trendy decor and ambiance, but that’s about it.

First of all I am into restaurants that are dog friendly. With that being said our server deserves 4 stars he was very good. We were seated in the terrace on a Tuesday at 1 pm. It is hot as hell. If they r going to seat anyone here they need two more floor fans. The corn fritters were excellent. The fish and chips were not so good. The batter overwhelmed the fish and they add a ton of French fries which is a total waste. They should improve the fish batter, cut the portion in half, add coleslaw or greens and 1/2 the French fry portion. At 1 pm they were out of the churrasco special. So the three stars are for not considering how hot their terrace is. The food was 2-3 stars. Our server was excellent though. The desert was too dry. We had the berry Mille. The pastry should be slightly crispy and flaky. We had to pick up pastry with our fingers to Vite into it, not worth that bite. Our dog is a six Pound yorkie 15 yr old rescue with cancer and a heart problem. She is kept in her carrier and doesn’t bark. Kudos to all of those restaurants that have welcomed Peggy. This was not the case this time, disappointed. Decor was very nice but the heat makes this unbearable. My cocktail was excellent. My husband ordered churrasco special They were out so server recommended the Denver plate, $40 for a plain piece of meat with French fries, no. I have a bone to pick with reviews. People should be honest. There is no way this deserves 4.4 stars. It deserves 3 at the most.
Came for dinner and ordered a mango margarita. It was okay but nothing special. Then ordered the crab cakes on the menu which costs about $15 and only comes with one singular crab cake. For my entree I got the pepperoni honey flatbread which came out looking and tasting like a frozen oven pizza. Way overpriced for the quality of food and pretty slow service as well
I used to loveeeee Canvas ! The food was amazing before. I went last night and the food was terrible. Chicken wings hard, over seasoned and gross! Onion soup had no cheese , the bread in the soup was mushy and grainy , so bad! And the calamari was super super sweet and covered in a jam like sticky gross substance . I could not stomach eating anything ! My guests also left their food . Now I know why it was empty . The restaurant was empty and the server was still inattentive.
The experience was very beautiful, the lake outside the window really made an impression. But the food was bad for the price. The fried cod was horrible, having 70% being fried batter which was kinda greasy and hard, and the fish was okay but a bit chewy. The fries were horrible, expensive, sad, cold, and soggy. The waiter had an attitude, and didn’t check up on us very often. Also, he was a bit racist because he was definitely treating us worst than the other white costumers. He wasn’t smiling with us, and kept pressuring us to buy stuff while he took longer with others and smiled with them. Would not recommend, never coming again.
Bottomless is rationed beyond measure. They give you 90 minutes. 1st round shows up and everyone is happy. 2nd round 20 minutes later. Spoke to the manager and he seemed disturbed that we asked why does it take so long for a refill. Server was amazing and attentive. Food delicious but the bar service is slow. The restaurant was not full by any means. Won't be coming back.
This place used to be amazing. It’s gone down hill since it opened. It’s never climbed back up. Service was not great. Food used to be great but not anymore. It is just “okay” for expensive prices. Go somewhere else if you want actual responsive service and great food.
We live in LP and have been to Canvas many times. We’ve had some great experiences here, but also a few that were just okay. Today was disappointing enough to write a review. We arrived on Monday (Presidents’ Day) at 2:45pm after flying all day. The restaurant was not busy at all. The hostess asked if we wanted brunch or dinner and explained that brunch ended at 3pm and dinner would begin after that. We asked for the dinner menu but were told we couldn’t be seated until 3. We then asked if we could at least be seated, order drinks, and wait until 3 to order food. The answer was no. That felt like an unnecessary and silly rule, especially given how empty the restaurant was and the fact that it was a holiday. Rather than wait 15 minutes standing there, we chose to go to another restaurant. Disappointing experience overall.
This place has a pretty chill vibe and a great setting but the food missed the mark. The calamari was decent. It didn't exceed any expectations and it wasn't a let down. My lady had the mushroom calzone and I had a burger with yuca fries. Unfortunately, the yuca fries were the hi-lite of both entrees. I ordered the burger med-well and it tasted like it sat over a flame too long at one point (scorched) but the inside was medium. The calzone is large but it lacked flavor. The vodka sauce it swam in was bleh and the mushroom filling didn't really have much going for it. It was a disappointment for a restaurant that brands itself as bringing a blend of Southern and Latin cuisine. I should be hit with flavor from the moment the plate hits the table. Definitely not though. Capping it off, the bread pudding dessert isn't worthy of the name and the [strawberry creme] dessert (a special for Valentine's I think) should not be served. Maybe it was an off nite but in three courses I wasn't impressed. This seems like one of those spots where people love the vibe, so they give subpar food a pass because it feels so good to see and be seen. I can't go back.
You know when you squint your eyes to hear better, it’s that loud. High prices and bad food. Looks are very deceiving. Biscuits and gravy is very hard to mess up. Biscuit was similar to a brick. The sausage was awful. The potatoes who adds sugar to fried potatoes? Oil tasted old. This is a restaurant is a never go again for us.
Came at 4 PM on a Sunday And it wasn't overly crowded It took 15 minutes until a host came over to even talk to my party. Even then, the employee that did was on his lunch break so kudos to him. I've been waiting for a waitress to take a drink for 15 minutes. So I'd charitably describe the service as "leasurely" even with a half a dozen folks working the open kitchen expediting line. The only reason why a restaurant with this sort of service survived is a captive audience and a great view. A poor experience overall.

We made a reservation for our daughter's 21st birthday and asked for a more secluded place for our party of 12. We were told that was possible, but when we arrived, our table was immediately next to the very noisy bar. The atmosphere made it impossible to talk and celebrate.
Had brunch today and it was disappointing. From the moment I sat down I noticed that the server was really slow and not attentive. When the rest of my party arrived, the server didn't come until I waved from him to come and we ordered everything at once because of how long it took him to come around. My coffee never came. When we got the food it was cold. We alerted the manager who was nice and got the food out promptly along with the coffee but the food was not much to rave about. I may return for dinner as I've never had an issue but I won't return for brunch.
Shocking service. Came here for a drink before leaving to the airport, ignored for the first ten minutes, went up to the bar to ask if we needed to order drinks here or if it was table service and was coldly told a server would be over. 30 minutes passed in total and not a single (of the 6 or 7 servers) came over to take our order. Seemed as though we were being purposefully ignored when tables around us were being served no issue and we didn’t even get eye contact. Not really sure what we did wrong!
What a shame. I’m gonna start with the food, not one person was happy. Stone hard biscuits, the over cooked eggs and the butter so hard you couldn’t use it. Then there’s the temperature. Supposedly the heater was on but it was 48 degrees inside the restaurant. When the girls I was with tried to use the bathroom there was no toilet paper and a filthy facility. It was 10:30 in the morning and no one checked the bathroom yet. Hold this manager responsible, we wanted to fight it was so bad. Poor server did her best but she had to take some of the anger from the sheer terrible experience. So sorry my sister from out of town had to experience our first time here with us, sucks.
Im in middle school. Im pretty lazy and usually I dont even write on this app but I had to due to our horrible experience. The first thing i saw walking in was a rude employee sighing before telling us we couldn't be seated and we had to make a reservation. My parents quickly made one and we were sent to wait for 20 minutes in the cold. When we finally got inside, we were seated by a noisy heater and outside, again,in the cold. We ordered some chips and guacamole to start our meal, and that took 30+ minutes to arrive. When I finally received my food (calamari) I nearly choked at how overcooked and overly chewy it tasted. Just gross. Finally, on the drive home we noticed that my little brothers toy was lost. It's his favorite toy, he can't sleep without it and has had it since he was born. My mother, in a panic called the resturaunt to ask them to look for it, and they responded "sorry we couldn't find it" we arrived 2 hours later from our hotel back at the restaurant. It was laying in the middle of a table next to a martini glass clearly in veiw. Anyone could've seen that if they took 5 seconds to look.Terrible food, service, and atmosphere. The rest of my family will be leaving a bad review as well.
We planned an evening to celebrate a birthday! This was my 3rd experience. Avoid this place at all costs. It’s only a matter of time before this place is closes permanently. The writing is on the wall. From start to finish this place just didn’t deliver. The reservation was for 9 people. The original table was comfortable for 6. This establishment thought it was okay to seat individuals on corners of the table. I was shocked. We asked the manager/ hostess for a different table and they were hesitant to move us. They treated us like a total inconvenience. A waiter refused to even offer us water. In all honesty, we should’ve just left. They made us carry our own menus from the small table to finally a more comfortable table. Meanwhile half the restaurant was empty for 45min- 1hour. All entrees showed up and one was never put into the computer. I walked over and confronted her kindly. It was written down and additional items were missing. I waited 15-20 while my entire party was eating for my entree. This place has zero hospitality, and at this point just banking people will dine there because of the view. This establishment has zero hope! It was once a place I would recommend and seek out. You lost a customer forever.
I flew in to Orlando for my birthday. My family chose to take me to campus for lunch on November 3 for my birthday. They raved and raved about this restaurant…. Unfortunately, they and I were very disappointed. The food was terrible. The service was awful. The management was nonexistent. We had a party of six and all our food didn’t even come out at the same time. They brought food to five of us…. It was Cold and Nasty….far from Edible. We brought it to the waiters attention…. He re-ordered it. He had, we guess, The manager come over, but she did not do a thing did not say anything. Just kind of stood there and barely even acknowledged us Or our concerns. About 20 minutes later, they finally brought the 6th person’s Hamburger. (Hers was Good…. When she finally got it) We still had We still hadn’t gotten ours so we just told them to forget it. The waiter asked us if we would like to talk to the manager again I said yes absolutely. Well, she must’ve known that. The whole day was a fiasco for me and for them because she didn’t even come over to our table. Worse place!!!!! I don’t Believe Any of these “GOOD” reviews. This place absolutely sucked in all areas!!!! You may say… oh, it was busy ….no no no no no There was No lunch crowd or event or anything going on. It was a Monday at noon and they just simply, FAILED!!! It was a very expensive worthless birthday get together!!!! Thank goodness, I have a great fam though!!!!
Awesome environment. Food looked good, hot and fresh but tastes like absolutely nothing. Has to be the most bland food I’ve had in years. I took a few bites and decided not to eat the rest as it was overwhelming disappointing. Now the place to eat, grab a drink enjoy the lake and then go eat elsewhere.
Today I went to this place expecting to enjoy my birthday, as it seems like a nice place, but unfortunately, I was disappointed from the start. The hostess made me wait more than 20 minutes from 10:30 am, even though the restaurant was completely empty, just to be seated at a table. This seemed inappropriate to me, especially since I'm pregnant. I didn't understand why there was so much trouble and waiting just to be seated when the place was empty. Ultimately, the only good thing about the place was undoubtedly the food; it was delicious, and I congratulate the chefs. However, the service was terrible, starting with the host.

In Orlando, there's a spot that truly delivers on both flavor and ambiance, and I have to tell you about Canvas. This place has quickly become a local favorite, and for good reason. It's the kind of restaurant where you can settle in, enjoy the views, and know you're in for a treat. My first recommendation, based on more than a few rave reviews, has to be the Hash. Seriously, folks are still talking about it – delicious, packed with flavor without being overwhelming, and definitely generous in...
You know that feeling when you find a spot that just gets it? That's Canvas for me, right here in Orlando. It’s one of those places where the setting alone makes you want to linger, sitting on their screened-in patio with those gorgeous lake views stretching out. It can get a little lively, sure, but honestly, the food and the scenery are so good, you barely notice.Let’s talk eats, because Canvas really brings it. If you go for brunch, you absolutely have to try the Hash. A server named Ryan
