Without a doubt, one of the best Mexican dining experiences I've had. The food is excellent and does justice to the complex flavour one expects of Mexican cuisine. Pay this place a visit when in Monterey. It does not dissapodis. Also, free guacamole and sour cream on the side. Who does that?!!!

Delicious food in a cozy homey place. I liked the old pictures and traditional hats they used to decorate the place. Our server was extremely nice, quick and attentive. Would definitely come back if I'm in the area!!

We ordered through doorbell dining and our food arrived piping hot and super tasty. I had enchiladas divorciadas and it was the best enchiladas I’ve had in a very long time. Will definitely order from them again.

This has always been a personal favorite of ours when we are in PG. They have always been consistently excellent both in their staff and their food. My husband ordered the El Jefe burrito, ( he never can finish it). I ordered the Chimichanga (couldn't finish it either). Forgot to take photos.

We are locals and we enjoy going here for lunch or dinner. It is always good fresh and if you want it spicy they will make it spicy. The portions are large and service is very friendly. Keep up the good service and food.. they are great 👍

We ordered two carnitas tacos to go and drove down to the beach. At first I was a little concerned that just two tacos cost almost $10, but when we opened it up to eat we were happy. We had one crispy and one soft taco. The crispy was just the right amount of crispy, didn't crumble apart completely after the first bite. The soft taco held up well also, impressive since we made one stop before getting to the beach so it had been boxed 15 minutes or more. The carnitas was tasty and we loved having guac on the tacos! Perhaps my favorite part was the chips and salsa that came with it. The salsa tasted fantastic, similar to my favorite fresh roasted salsa at the grocery store but maybe better.

Found Los Amigos while on vacation in Monterey. The food and service were outstanding and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. My chicken enchilada and chili rellano were great. We will absolutely come back next time we are in town.

Los Amigos is the place to be. A group of friends and I went after a day in Big Sur and were so pleased with all of our food and with the service. The shrimp tacos and shrimp enchiladas are to die for, and the super grande burrito really is super grande - and super delicious! The churros are fantastic, as well. The beans are vegetarian (which is unusual for a Mexican restaurant but much appreciated), and the service was outstanding. The only thing that could have made it better was if this was closer to home. We will be back!

Never had better Mexican food anywhere! Crispy shredded beef taco, cheese enchilada, chile relleno, refried beans and rice. Took home a pork chile verde burrito for breakfast. Wifey had crispy shredded beef taco and beef tamale. We'll be back!

I am on vacation celebrating my birthday, and Someone recommended this place. And it is the bomb.... The good is very fresh, hot, and delicious. The salsa is on point. I had the wet chicken burrito 5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 my wife had the tamales and chorizo taco very good. Antonio ore server is very attentive, friendly, and i highly recommend him.

This place was awesome. We loved the cozy restaurant feel. The service was spot on and made us feel at home. The food was big portions like oh my gosh how can you eat that big, but we did and our tummies appreciated it. I'm still full from it and that was at lunch like 15 hours ago, crazy. The food was also so yummy you just couldn't stop even if you tried and trust me we tried but it was impossible. Oh try the super grande burrito, you could serve a whole family with it and its only 12 bucks. Its about middle of the rode pricing but totally worth every penny.

It was our first time going to Los Amigos! Hands down the best salsa with gratuitous chips! I COULD have made a meal of the chips and salsa! Fabulous! THE rest of the food was Good, and the atmosphere very relaxed and casual. Hidden back in a corner, it's not easy to see, but WORTH venturing back for!

The carne asada super burrito was delicious and even better, the chips and salsa were so flavorful. The churros were also great, especially with the sauce. We got this all to go and it held up well for the 20 min drive.

Stopped off because My wife said she knew a spot from when she was a kid. Plus we were all super hungry. Food was great everything was good. My wife actually didn't like her chorizo burrito, but we loved everything else .

I had the el jeffe burrito with carnitas as the meat...it was absolutely perfect. Don't waste your time going or ordering from the expensive outfits on cannery row that seem to consistently get your order wrong and have to fight for parking. Los amigos is where it's at! Absolutely will be going back again and again!

Our first time there. VERY good food. Staff was friendly. Food was plentiful (I took some home which I rarely do). I tried a 3 piece combo: cheese enchilada, beef taco, beef burrito, rice and beans. The burrito and enchillda were excellent...the taco average. We got there just at the right time on Friday around 5:30 pm as it was filling up quickly by the time we were finished. Parking was a bit of a challenge. Located between Safeway and Trader Joe's. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Excellent authentic Mexican Food, very, very tasty with good size servings. Atmosphere is good, not the best, but acoustics definitely much better that the "other" Mexican restaurant here in town where on average you can't hear yourself talk if you dine after 5:30. So this was very pleasant, and will be my new spot for Mexican Food - especially on a day I really want to have a great meal and relax! Noise level was very nice in comparison. Will definitely return. Prices are excellent, service the same with a very courteous waiter. If you thought going to Pepper's was good....... this far exceeds! Can't get better in Pacific Grove!

While on vacation, we wanted to support small business rather than spend our $ at a chain restaurant. Our party of 5 had a variety of meals and everyone was pleased with their choices. The service was outstanding and the food was SOOOO flavorful! I've been to many Mexican restaurants - some are the 'go to' when family or friends come from out of town but THIS restaurant would be my new #1. Too bad I live 6 hours away. FANTASTIC food!

We had the special - blackened salmon tacos (with pineapple pico and avocado slices) - it was amazing. The fish was delicious and the portions were perfect. We also tried the chicken mole enchiladas which had the perfect amount of spice and melt in your mouth. The staff there were helpful and friendly. Will be back for sure.

The food was delicious but I got the special, which was coconut shrimp tacos, and it was a bit pricey for what you get. The plate came with 2 tacos and a side of your choice, I went with black beans which were nothing too special, I opted for a 3rd taco knowing that I generally eat more than most and the total, even just getting water to drink, was almost $24. To me that seems high for lunch even in Pacific Grove.

The food was very tasty and the decor felt quite authentic. The staff were friendly and we received some extra dips on the house which was a pleasant surprise. There's also plenty of parking here so it's easy to get to. The only downside was the service was quite slow but it was a busy evening when we visited so not that big of an issue. We would definitely be back for some reasonably priced Mexican food if we're ever in the area again.

The fajitas were very good…the dish i ordered was a different interpretation than I was expecting.

The server was nice and professional. It was quiet, so we were seated quickly. We appreciated the free tortilla chips and salsa. The chicken tortilla soup was hardy, albeit very salty. The chicken fajitas were slightly bland and dry. The artichoke enchiladas were underwhelming.

Friendly, family owned and perfect service. Food was just ok. Got camarones al mojo de ajo and it was subpar, only got six shrimp for paying $20 for the plate. Meh.

This place seems really cool and it might be a great place for a beer but the food was really marginal at best. This is a tourist town so the restaurant knows they don't have to be amazing because other people will come to try it before or after their visit to the aquarium. Really nice staff though.

Not bad but not the best. Pastor and carne asada were not authentic. The $10 combo plate was the way to go. Otherwise overpriced. I never leave reviews, but thought this needed balance. Growing up with Mexican culture, I had to leave an honest review. You want real Mexican food, go to Salinas or better yet Watsonville. It will be worth the drive.

My husband and I were really excited to try this place. It had a really high rating. Unfortunately, the food did not measure up, and we had several issues with the order accuracy. There seemed to be a misunderstanding with our appetizer. We ordered cheese dip, and were given a cup of shredded cheese. Once we got home, my dinner was wrong (having beans inside the burrito), and we had to drive back to get it exchanged. Then, once we got it home, it was still wrong, and they gave us the wrong meat. The server was very polite, but unfortunately the food really wasn’t great.

We ordered one shrimp and one chicken dish for take out. Very disappointing, the chicken was overcooked and didnt have much flavor.

Don’t eat here. I’ve ordered twice and both times the items had sauces that ruined the flavor. I specifically looked for an item that did not have an overpowering sauce and got home and my food was inedible due to too much sauce.

Ordered from DoorDash last night and completely disappointed. Many items were missing from the order. Ordered the flan and bread pudding and was the absolute most disgusting thing I have ever tasted. The carnitas were dry and had no flavor. Everything about this was was just awful and would not recommend. Not sure how they have over 4 star reviews.

I came to this mexican testaurant for first time, .This is not authentic mexican food , the meat was of cheap quantiy. the waiter instead of fixing my sunny side up eggs , gave me rhetoric on them. i feel i made a mistake by having used their food services. mostlikely the person that own Michael s mexican restaurant is the same owner for this restaurant since both restaurants used same cheap meat quality. omg, and that tomatoe salsa s gotta go. please, use mexican ingredients, some people do have good mexican palate , otherwise, just rename restaurant to TEX MEx foood, then most def , i woulnt at all bother going into your restaurant for sure.

Very irritated and felt the need to let locals and tourists the same know that the customer service here is the worst. After calling for the 3rd wrong order and nothing being done to make sure it’s better next time. Here it is…. The orders are always wrong and they don’t care. The food is not good and the prices are double a good Mexican hole in the wall. Wish we had one here. Nope…. Super bummed we don’t have a good Mexican here and definitely this place isn’t good for much.

I give it a two thumbs down. I asked for the Chicken Mole, the flour tortillas were not heated up enough. The Chicken mole was salty and the chicken was dry and very thinly sliced. I am so done with these places. No one seems to care…. I haven’t lost my tastebuds yet. Never again will I go here… done wasting money on food that is not worth putting in my belly. When I did say something to the waitress she just brushed it off like nothing. But it’s not her that I have a problem with…. It’s the person cooking the food!🤮🤮🤮
