Some of the tastiest tortillas in town! Crazy expensive, guacamole is insanely pricey, but the tortillas make it worth it. I love the carnitas. Service isn't that great either, but again the tortillas are wonderful!

This place is a local fave. The drinks are creative and delicious. Food is fantastic- have brought coworkers and friends alike here and it's become a fave for them too. They also switch up the drink menu every couple months or so, so it's refreshing to come back and see something new!

Comfy place to go for delicious tacos. Amazing cocktails. It’s a little loud because the sound bounces off all the surfaces but it’s such a delicious place. Often get full fast but they move tables quickly.

M
Michael Harville

Very creative cocktail selection, with excellent and innovative food menu to go along with it. Somewhat upscale / chic, but not pretentious at all. Small spot, and usually busy despite being "off the strip" in Palo Alto, so it appears to be a new favorite among locals.

Nice sunset light. Te de limon cocktail.

We are regular to this place since it opened. The drinks are always great and the drink menu changes often. We love the torta cubana and order it every single time. Tacos are great too. This is our to go place to have a relaxing and delicious meal .

Flavorful and eclectic menu. I had the cubano sandwich, which had a lovely fresh jalapeño twang, nice. Colorful and creative drinks. Outdoor seating accommodated our 15 person meetup group!

Now that's a Cubano!! Small place but the authentic flavors of the food and drink makes you remember it for sure 👌

Great place! Our server was Moose and he was very friendly and accommodating! Will definitely come back!

Best part was the tequila shot and beer -- no complaints on the bar. Food was good, nothing special. Onions: if you are allergic, beware -- they made my tacos without onion but the salsa still had onion (not just the pico but the roasted salsa too which because it had been cooked hard had the allergy part cooked out but I was still cautious a new item for me)

I love this place. I've dropped in a few different times, at various times of the day and have been impressed every time. The drinks are delicious, unique, and thoughtful. Every dish on the menu I've had is incredible, and I've tried most. Most recently, I went on my birthday, and the server was helpful and even created a special drink for me. I had quesabirria here for the first time and it set a high bar. San Agus elevates Mexican food without making it unapproachable. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Very friendly staff. Best guacamole I’ve ever had. I highly recommend the shrimp, red snapper, and birria tacos! Full of flavor!

Original Mexican food, excellent taste and great preparation. When in Stanford, I will return for sure.

Food was great, I recommend ordering a drink called "cantarito" and "huitlacoche quezadilla".

The most unique collection of agave spirit focus cocktails I'm aware of. Everything was fantastic. Tacos are super bougie.

Brandon is very friendly and made us an amazing authentic Mexican drink! Also loved the guacamole in the restaurant

Nice little spot, I got to enjoy the happy hour. Pozole was good, Shrimp Ceviche Tostadas were very nice, had the Birria Fries which were good + the Horchata was VERY tasty! Also, it has a bar + outdoor seating. The server was really cool, too... her name is Paola. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Hands down, my favorite restaurant in the area! My husband and I have tried nearly everything on the menu and we are never disappointed. The ingredients always taste so fresh and flavorful! You can tell the chef(s) really care about the quality and presentation of the dishes as well. The staff is always friendly too. Highly recommend!

We got the chicken rings toastadas and the empanadas with a Romero Rubio and a San Cristobal. The cocktails were excellent. The bartender was attentive and clearly had skill (we sat at the bar). The food was well balanced, had an excellent variety of flavors, and was filling despite reasonably sized plates. The price was right as well (especially for Palo Alto). Would definitely come back here.

Omg the food at San Agus is SO delicious. Found this place randomly while looking for a last minute dinner place and we were more than satisfied with our dishes. We had the Chicken Tinga Tostadas, the Quesabirria and the Gorditas Chicharrones. The quesabirria was definitely our favorite dish - it was super juicy, flavorful and filling. And the drinks were absolutely delicious! Had the margarita and a sangria and we loved them both.

I like to ceviche they are serving and of course, the nachos and other Mexican food. It is located very close to the sidewalk, particularly it is on the sidewalk. At least some nice tables. There are also some seats available inside, but it’s easy to sit outside. Reservation is recommended as you are with a party of four or more.

Came here for dinner and had an amazing experience! San Angus is conveniently located close to the Pot downtown and has both indoor and outdoor seating, which made for a great atmosphere. I ordered the carne asada tacos and shrimp tacos—both were absolutely delicious. The flavors were fresh and well-balanced, and the portions were just right. The carne asada was tender and flavorful, while the shrimp tacos had a nice kick. Service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and fast without feeling rushed. It really made the whole experience that much better. Definitely going back for more. Highly recommend if you're in the area and craving some solid tacos!

I look forward to this spot every trip to Palo Alto. The entire menu is delicious and the queso birra tacos are mouthwatering. Be sure to get the consume. Best, amazing cocktails on or off the menu. Friendly service on top of all that. Can’t wait to be back.

R

Cubans tortas was excellent! It’s a new dish for me so I was surprised at how thin the breaded beef patty was, but it paired quite well with the pork and veggies. A very pleasing sandwich. Parking is a bit tricky. Street parking fills up quick so had to drive around a bit to find something.

S
Stelios Serghiou

Urban vibes, swanky cocktails, cute bites and friendly staff. All at very reasonable prices for the area. Great for a first date. Attire smart casual. The Xochimilco cocktail was a highlight and the Gorditas were superb (even though on the spicy side). Along with Ettan, these are the best cocktails I've tried in Palo Alto. Highly recommended!

Not standard Mexican....at all! This is Mexican Cuisine at it's finest! Original dishes, spectacularly prepared to perfection, every-single-time! I was delighted to go here tonight. The service was exemplary from all, fast and Isidro who checked on us a few times was very kind. The food was really great. I was surprised how good it was including my cocktail. Many of the dishes were a unique take on traditional dishes without starting too far from what people know and love. Would 100% be coming back here.

One my favorite Palo Alto spots I've tried. Off the beaten path of university, this place offers a refined take on Mexico city street food and awesome mezcal cocktails. Chapulines (grasshopper) quesadilla is yummy and unique, with interesting texture and a smokey tahin flavor. The torta cubana is 🔥🔥🔥 so so good Their pastor and chorizo tacos are delicious with doughy fresh tortillas The ¿VAN CON TOCHO MOROCHO? Cocktail is excellent. I will be going again to try everything on the menu!

They have sotol cocktail. I got the spirit forward one. It's dark and and it's good. Worth a try. The restaurant is bright and clean. Happy hour menu looks like a good deal. Try to get there before 10:30pm on weekends if you want a drink late night. They close early if it's not busy.

A bit out of the way but well worth the walk! Good food, good service. Empanadas are a must try.

A
Alicia DiGiammarino

Thankfully my group was willing to order for the table so we were able to try several dishes. We liked the pollo enmolada, empanadas de hongo, gorditas, and quesabirria. For drinks I recommend trying the Lechería. Don’t bother with the caguama beer unless your only goal is to get drunk. It’s just a 32oz Corona. The patio is lovely though marred by a repetitive and VERY loud buzzer, which we accepted as a necessary evil to prevent unsuspecting pedestrians from getting run over as cars exit the garage across the street.

J
John L

Stumbled upon this while at the art and wine festival over the weekend. Indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly service, the birria served with the broth was a major hit and would go back again. I like the authenticity of the place, not like the normal Mexican chains.

A
Akshay Jawharkar

The drinks and food were absolutely delicious but most importantly service was on point. They initially forgot one of our drinks but then Benny went above and beyond to fix it for us. The service for the rest of the evening was very attentive and stellar. Came for the food and drinks, stayed for the service. Definitely recommend this place.

The short of it is that everything I tried was delicious and relatively authentic. I will be coming back quite often, I suspect. I've been looking for a place like this ever since I moved to the Bay Area a decade ago. The menu seems to be focused on "nicer" versions of typical street foods; this is more akin to what you'd find at the fancier Mexican restaurants in Mexico (where I lived most of my life) than a typical taquería. San Agus is also different from many of the higher-end Mexican places I've tried in the Bay Area, in that the courses are still focused mostly on "street foods". Don't get me wrong, I love taquerías, but the food is typically "built to a budget" and San Agus clearly several notches above that. For example, I had a Tlayuda with Carne Asada (beef) and the beef itself was thick, but still soft, juicy, and delicious. It also helps that I felt the prices were quite fair (for Palo Alto) and the one cocktail I tried was very good.

L
Liz Puchalski

One of the best vodka cocktails I've ever had was at San Agus Cocina Urbana. It had a black vodka in it which I've never had and it was delicious! It was a seasonal drink so I can't remember the name or the rest of the ingredients, but I'm sure any cocktail here will be just as incredible since the owner herself came up with the recipe!

T
Tom L

San Agus is such a fun spot! There's parking nearby (which already makes it a win), and they’ve got both indoor and outdoor seating depending on your mood. The place has a super colorful vibe—bright walls, great music, and just an overall lively atmosphere. We started with chips and guac—solid 4.5/5. Super fresh, guac was creamy with just the right kick. For the mains, we got the Flautas Dorados de Pollo, Pastor Tacos, and the Camarón Dorado Tacos. Everything was packed with flavor. The flautas were crispy and satisfying, the pastor was juicy with great seasoning, and the shrimp tacos? Chef’s kiss. Definitely a spot I’d come back to—great food, fun vibes, and no stress finding parking. What more do you need?

Good Mexican fusion food. I loved the cocktails as well. The price is reasonable considering the location.

I honestly dont know why I waited so long to try this place is freaking amazing from the food to the staff and the whole atmosphere tonight was my second time going although I wasnt accompanied by anyone this time a bar seat was perfect for me. I dont remember the bartenders name but I could say that he made the best mezcal margaritas I've ever tried! El tamarindo cocktail is definitely recommended for those who love reposado and the tangy taste of the tamarindo it's amazing to say the least! THE GO TO SPOT IN DOWNTOWN PALO ALTO FORSURE!

I had stopped by to grab some food and drinks with my coworkers and it was honestly such a fun experience as the menu was unique and the drinks were really refreshing/paired well with the food. The service was laid-back, which allowed us to enjoy each other's company and there's easy access to parking in the nearby streets. since we also stopped by at a fairly early time during the day, it wasn't as busy, but towards the end of our visit it did get busier. ambiance was relax and quite quaint.

We recently discovered this place and were blown away. So much better than the usual Mexican food in the Bay Area. Most places are either really generic or very expensive and out of reach. This is right in the sweet spot. Well priced for the portions and value. Insanely tasty - about as good as Mexico. We really enjoyed the birria, cochinita, ceviche, and guacamole. Recommend you get family style so everyone can try. Definitely will be back!

Excellent Mexican cocktail and food establishment in downtown Palo Alto. Recently opened. We were impressed by the high quality of the cocktails and food, the uniqueness in the menu items, and the excellent customer service that knew "everything" about the menu. Prices can be a little steep, but that's California. I would compare this place to Milagros in Redwood City, but this San Augus has much better drinks and food. If you're looking for a high quality restaurant experience and amazing craft cocktails, I highly recommend this place. Details to follow: [The Drinks] Starting with the best part, the drinks were excellent here. They have a wide variety of cocktails I have never tried anywhere else. Most of them are named after sayings or phrases in Spanish. They don't taste like they have a bunch of fillers and artificial flavors. The drinks tasted real with quality ingredients and careful thought into the mix. We tried about 5 and couldn't decide which one was our favorite. Could use just a tad more alcohol but they were balanced, and we will absolutely be returning just to get drinks one day. [The Food] We were really impressed by the food too. The presentation of the food and the quality was what we expected given the price. We got Quesabarria tacos which were excellent. They have a variety of different offerings which are well described and seems to be high quality. We were absolutely impressed. [The Location] The restaurant is located near University Ave in downtown Palo Alto. It's in a nice spot near Caltrain, off the beaten path so there's plenty of parking. It's safe, well lit, and has outdoor seating! The restaurant looks super clean and well maintained!

The atmosphere is a bit odd here - not a bar not a full restaurant. But the food is yummy , margaritas are good& the service staff was all helpful. If you have a group bigger than 4 it might be hard to seat so call ahead. Also for the price point does not match the ambience and food but for PA it’s a good option for low key dining.

J

Smaller restaurant with good food, but pricey for what you get. The cocktails contained no noticeable alcohol in them. The tacos for $15 were two tiny little tacos with no side items. Quality of the small amount of food we had was good, but still hungry afterwards.

T
Terri Mullen (MzT)

Awesome food, we tried the beef and shrimp tortillas (2 dishes). Service was great. Very pleasant people, let us linger longer than usual. As is always the case, sidewalk eating can be noisy but better on a lovely summer evening.

J
Jerry Wang

We sat at their outdoor seating which is basically on the city sidewalk. The service was good, the food was flavorful. One of our dishes was PescadoFrito, which was a whole fried branzino (seabass). Highly recommended. The underground parking structure right across the street had the buzzer going every time there was a car coming out of the garage. That was annoying. Also had a panhandler who was very polite but still. Something to consider when sitting on the sidewalk.

M
Matthew “Skip” Moore

The house wines are ok, I would stick to the mixed cocktails. The food and service is outstanding. I would recommend any of the tacos, be careful of the chips and salsa they are very addictive and easy to fill up on. Parking is pretty convenient for Palo Alto.

For two of us, we each had a drink and ordered three dishes: fish tacos, guacamole and chips, and quesadillas. Recommended by the restaurant staff. All tasted quite authentic. So overall good food but not sure if I will think of it as a go-to place when I'm in town next time. I liked how it was neither too salty nor too greasy. The drink wasn't overly sweet. We walked in without a reservation around 6pm and more than half of the tables were occupied.

The torta cubano was absolutely delicious. Loved the flavor profile and have deep depth and complexity. Good mix of meats and veggies with a lovely toasted bread. Sauce tied everything together. Price was good and the portion sizes are good too. The esquites on the other hand was a salted creamy corn and cotija cheese mix. Portion size is a bit lacking IMO and the flavor was interesting but a bit over seasoned and one dimensional.

Got drinks and small plates here - solid margaritas, michelada and horchata. The guac was delicious but the portions were tiny. They have a very lovely looking outdoor seating area, maybe next time!

This is not you regular mexican eatery but rather a unique concept where street foods are elvated with rigyht portion sizes. We ordered a steak plate to share andnthere were enough food for 2 people. The interiors feel very organized and would definitely recommend.

I really liked their tacos! They may not be the most authentic, but the taste was great and it was really fresh. Highly recommend their al pastor, fish, and shrimp taco. The tacos were definitely on the pricier side at $14 for 2 tacos. I was not a big fan of their gorditas de chicharron. The outside fritter was quite dry and the dish lacked flavor. Even the sauce it came with was not that good. Their drinks were also pretty good, I like that they gave a piece of watermelon for their watermelon margarita.

We went in as a group of 8 on Friday and sat outside (reservation via OpenTable). The seats felt kind of uncomfortable since they barely had any cushion. The drinks looked great and tasted even better, and all of us liked what they ordered. I tried the Tamarind drink and a Margarita, and it both were pretty refreshing. The tortilla chips came with a tasty green drip. I ordered Al Pastor Tacos and a mushroom truffle Quesadilla. The Tacos were loaded, and although I expected the Al Pastor to be crispier, it still tasted good. The Quesadilla however tasted a bit bland for my taste and I wish that it had more flavor. There was some confusion with our order as they brought an extra cheese Quesadilla which we didn't order. Also, we had to ask for water about 3-4 times over a 45 min period before someone brought it out. The overall experience was nice.

Update 2: Had the tlayuda today. The tortilla was really thin and crispy, thinner than I expected, but the overall dish was large and filling. Unfortunately the pastor was a bit burnt. The dish also tasted a bit bland so I asked for extra salsa, which is chargeable. The viene viene cocktail was strong but I couldn’t really taste the ginger or lemongrass. Update: I did come back to try the huarache with steak! It was pretty good. All in all, a good place to get Mexican in Palo Alto. One of the few restaurants I actually enjoyed. Good Gorditas. Crispy, with lots of fillings. Salsa was a little spicy and overall the Gordita was not salty enough for me. Luckily I ordered a side of guacamole which was a little salty so it balanced out. Chips and salsa cost $7 so I skipped that 🙁 Horchata was pricey at $9. Tasted ok. Churros were nice and crispy but a little dense. Sauce was ok. I was craving chocolate. Overall pretty good. I’d eat here again if I was craving Mexican in Palo Alto. Next time I might try the huaraches

Came here with a group of 12 - it was nice that they could accommodate all of us and even had a table set up when we arrived! Good: - Heard about the famous birria tacos so I finally got some - really good and the dipping method is super unique - I liked the tortilla chips here since they were very crunchy and the guac was good and well-seasoned too - Cool vibe - good for a big group Bad: - Small portion sizes for the food - A little noisy so it's hard to hear people without yelling Overall enjoyed the experience but also felt like wouldn't come again

Don’t feel like cooking on a Sunday? Head on down to this place for a nice cocktail (4 stars), ceviche tostadas (4 stars), beef tongue tacos (5 stars), carnitas tacos (3 stars, because I missed the crispiness). The service was accommodating and friendly — not pressuring us to order quickly, turning on the heat lamp outside to buffer the windy cooler temperatures, coming back to check up on us and provide water carafe and glasses when we asked for some water. We ended with the churros (3 stars) because they were slightly undercooked inside but came with a nice tequila sauce.

First time we went to San Agus, one of the very few places open after 10pm in Palo Alto. We hesitated to enter, as the music was super loud inside (*very* loud) and it was rather cold to stay outside even with heat lamps. The service was okay, a bit slow but my wife did not get what she ordered, probably because it was so loud the waiter did not hear it right. The guacamole appetizer was excellent. The chips & salsa were a disappointment (chips over-crisp and cold; salsas were meh), in particular since you have to pay for those and the same chips were to be used for the guacamole. Main entrees (torta cubana and empanadas de hongo) were both excellent. Overall I'm rating 3 stars because we could not enjoy the place due to the loudness, but younger folks will likely enjoy it.

The ambience was good although a little noisy, the food was a bit bland. Our server was nice but the table and chairs weren't comfortable for a group of 6 people.

We arrived a little bit late for lunch on a Sunday. The restaurant was empty, but the service was nonexistent. A gentleman came by to take our order after 15 minutes. Our tacos were fine, but the quesadilla had very dry shredded cheese and large chunks of veggies that my elderly mom almost choked upon. The tortillas were very thick (handmade) and not completely cooked from one side. We had to constantly work to grab the attention of the server behind the bar for water and other things. She had a couple of regulars (friends) at the very same time and was completely occupied with them. In fact water was not served for a long time--even after we placed the order and specifically asked for water. Our gentleman server showed up only once after taking the order, to bring the food but did not return to ask if everything was alright.

The food is hit & miss. Some of the tacos have nice flavor but their nachos will have stale chips and/or flavorless carne asada (like, can’t taste any flavor when trying an individual steak piece). The service as also hit & miss. Once had a good person helping us & another time the person was terrible, nice but waiting tables is 💯not for them. One thing that is consistent are their drinks are usually pretty good, on the weaker side but good.

Somewhat overpriced for the quality of food. (For example, vegetarian dishes were 18 a piece, bottle coke 7 each). Staff are friendly and the ambience is nice.

The food was fine, some unique items - but the rest of the visit resulted in us most likely not returning. They nickel and dime you with extra fees & pricing is at high end, especially for cocktails - that are good, but not at their pricing. Ordered Guac ($15.00 -which to me was too high) server asked if we wanted salsa, said sure - she brought 1 each very small Red & Green Sauces (not a chunky salsa for sure) - then charged $1.00 each, - Then I ordered a Skinny Margarita with their cheapest Reposado, wound up getting charged $14.00 for the margarita and another $3.00 For Don Julio - I questioned that and was told that was their cheapest Reposado....) then they added a labor surcharge.... this is a glorified taqueria - but cost like an upscale eatery. Food was fine, and some fun items - but just too much. I also did not like the restroom situation, the employees use it as a break room, had to wait 10-15 Mins for one employee - I get economy and costs, I own a business, I hate the extra charges, especially when not advised - I will go elsewhere next time

Good spot for cocktails and tacos.Service is a hit or miss. They often get your order wrong ( wrong food and cocktails!) but service is friendly enough.

Fish tacos were just alright. Quesabirria was delicious! Portions were small for the price, though.

Wonderful servers! Excellent service and location. Hard to find parking but that's common in Palo Alto. Food is "ok" with plenty of room for improvement: Salsas were flavorless, small tortillas, and "diet size" dishes for the prize or regular size. Disappointing tacos. But wonderful servers, very welcoming atmosphere.

Good location, close to Caltrain and other downtown shops, restaurants. Plenty of outdoor seating with and without umbrellas. Service was ok, food was decent but flavor was lacking and flat for everything I tried. Steak was unevenly cooked from blue in some areas to mid in others. I do not think I would go back.

So, the dining was okay. If San Agus decided to purchase a better quality meat and cook it a bit longer for my tacos, I'd be happier. Otherwise the service was okay and the food quality was okay

If you are in Palo Alto, near Philz and Whole Foods, and walking distance and want some fancy looking fried shrimp tacos, or carne asada, they are aesthetically pleasing with fancy microgreens and edible flowers sprinkled on top. Common sides like guac and the ceviche come with some uncommon sides like salty sour pickled nopales or saltines, so read/ask for details before ordering. Some days carne asada is good some days stringy, shrimp can be fishy and fried greasy sometimes. In the beginning the corn tortillas tasted like what I make at home (it is a hassle but the fresh corny nixtamal aroma) although rolled somewhat thicker. More and more we felt it was getting thicker and less flavorful, more gummy, no fresh corny aroma. Mezcal presentation was awful, dirty cloudy mezcal glass with rubbing alcohol mezcal. I was going through a mezcal craze and was trying bottle after artisanal bottle at home, so also having to shell out so much per glass for mezcal that has been open and sitting out was 😖. Service is indifferent to irritable, never really good unless you sit at the bar and order lots of cocktails. We were regulars here, always going at noon, but then quality started to decline, then we got tired of the bad service. We took a friend from Oaxaca here for lunch, and we felt bad, particularly poor service including we had to ask five times for a baby high chair for one of his kids, and they didn't want to bring one out for some reason, (place was empty except for us and one other table that came in after us) and corn tortillas weren't good that day. Sorry no pics. Thought I had posted a review for this place almost two years? ago (at the time I would've given them 3.5-4 stars) but couldn't find it.

Poor & extremely slow service, even as the restaurant went from busy to half-full. Had to ask for water several times to get a refill; requested pitchers of water multiple times and never received them. The space is very loud and portions are very small for the price. Only reason this is 2 stars and not 1 star is because the food tasted good... but it was hilariously little food for any given item.

The server who was doubling as the bartender was ok, but not very friendly. The food tasted very cheap. It reminded me of homemade nachos I made at home as a kid with shredded cheese and leftover ingredients. I was hoping dor a good new option for mexicsn food, but there are much better options out there.

The atmosphere was nice, but I feel like my meal was far too overpriced with a subpar taste. I ordered 1 cocktail, 1 small chips and guacamole (portion size was only enough for one person), and the sandwich shown in the picture. My bill with 20% tip was over $60. The food quality did not match the price in my opinion.

Wouldn't recommend this place. Some of the waiters were rude, the food took forever to arrive, and it tasted very bland. If you only care about your food and not the atmosphere, you are better off going to taco truck in East Palo alto.

Went on a quiet Sunday in between lunch and dinner. The waiter was not very hospitable, and on top of that he got our order wrong. Plates are insanely overpriced for a small portion. The authenticity is lacking in these plates, and the flavor is just alright. Left very disappointed and won’t be back.

Overpriced small portions and poor service. The food is good, but not good enough to compensate. I've been here twice with my wife, and both times the service was very poor. After waiting a while to be seated, we sat for over 20min without anyone even checking in. They weren't even very busy but I had to go to the bar just to get my wife some water (the bartender was the only helpful person the whole time). Drinks took forever to come, which I also had to order at the bar. The server eventually came and took our order after we asked if someone was going to help us. The food came out pretty quickly, but it was getting close to closing, so as soon as our food got there, the server interrupted us to have us pay just as we started eating because she was done with her shift. Luckily she got distracted and the manager ended up checking us out after we were done. We politely told the manager (Paula) about our bad experience (for the 2nd time) and she offered us a free margarita on our next visit 🙄. We won't be back to get our tiny overpriced margaritas.

Good food and good cocktails. However, the busier they get, the worse their service gets. Went there with some colleagues and the waiter never took my order. Then, after I flagged them down to give them my order, the food was never delivered. Everyone got their order but me. I asked about it and still never received it. I was stuck snacking on chips and appetizers. Eventually our group dissipated and I just left and grabbed dinner on the way home.

This place has been good in the past but tonight when I came in at 5:45 and asked for a table of 2, the hostess immediately asked if I had a reservation. I was confused because the place was completely empty and it was 5:45 on a weekday. The hostess tried to put me and my friend at the counter when the place was mostly empty and there were tons of empty tables. When I asked if we can have a table we gave me a high top but refused to give the lower more comfortable tables "because they were reserved". I decided to talk her word for it but then as my friend and I ate, the lower tables remained empty and it became clear they weren't reserved. Then, by 6:30 other people started sitting at them who I could tell did not have a reservation. So it then became clear that this whole thing was a lie on the hostesses part. I have lower back pain from an injury a few years ago and it's not comfortable for me to sit on hard high top stools with no back. When my friend and I left I asked her why did she make it up that those tables are reserved and refused to seat us there when they were empty the whole time. She completely gaslighted me saying they were not empty; when I insisted yes they were as I was sitting right here, she pivoted to saying Well the system said they werent open. So not only was she able to tell me why she lied about this, her answer kept changing. I really hope the owner sees this review. If you do can you get rid of this woman? What a terrible experience
