Delicious food. Fast casual, great price, good service. 5 stars.
This place is pretty good fellow foodies. It’s fairly price as well; not too pricey!! •Nothing is really over 20 except the full Red snapper dinner @25. •Normally I’d start the paragraph with the “bad” then go to the good!!, But can’t really because of one time they rushed cooked it on the whole fish dinner and it wasn’t as seasoned and tasty as the other two(2) times!! •It is home cooked meal style and not fast food profile!~~in terms of style and taste! You will not be disappointed. I saw a previous commenter above that said small portions were their curse; Didn’t think so!! I mean we could always sue more of a good thing right? Btw: the pic is by Yorlady Rico from 4 yrs ago. Her plate looked exactly like ours. 🙏🏻
Per recent reviews, I tried the fried fish and red beans and rice. My friend got the beef ribs soup and a side of white rice. Everything was delicious. Truly not a fancy place ... Their focus is on their food. Adding this place to my rotation.
Central American Food Done Right! In a little strip-mall, posing as a bodega with seating, this little joint is exactly the kind of joint that you'd be likely to ignore as you head past. And that would be a mistake - the food in here is *legit*. It's pretty straightforward - you point at the food you want, they put it on a plate for you, you pay, and you eat. There's also a helpful variety of sauces on the table to help you get things just right, and that's pretty much the way it should be! Mind you, everything is a lot easier if you have a little spanish, but if you don't, that's ok. Point, smile, pay, and enjoy!
This is a typical hole in the wall kind of a restaurant. Go there for home style Colombian/ Honduran food. Seating etc is low key and nothing to rave about. I usually do a take out - and always go with the food that is ready on display. The pricing is very reasonable. Like in any food bar, the food does stay out for a few hours once it has been cooked and gets replaced once it’s over. As others have pointed out, communication is a problem unless you know Spanish, but just point to what you want … As for the food- I really love it and have been going there for over 4 years now. My fav is the chicken with gravy with yellow rice, beans and corn tortilla. I have no idea what the name of the dishes really are :)
While there's a bit of a communication gap if you're not versed with Spanish. The staff there is super kind and helpful! I've been there twice and the food has not disappointed! I recommend the Baleadas. The quality is reasonable given the reasonable pricing
This review is based on the purchase of 2 cheese pupusas and a chan. It was lunch rush and they have a buffet so service was rushed, which is fine. The pupusas were raw. The dough was not fully cooked through and very salty. The Chan was overly sweet. Chan is supposed to be refreshing and good for you. This.was not the case. There are no menus. Just one at the register that you can barely see if you're blind like me. It is very dark. I'm sure they have their strong points but cheese pupusas and Chan are not one of them.
The portions are small for the price. Not fluent English spoken. Looks like the food sits out for awhile. It's not so pretty to your eyes but they had fresh steak coming out so I chose that. $12 for literally 1 spoon of rice 3stips of steak and 4 circle slices of plantains. The steak was grilled and seasoned to taste. Not bad but portion could have been better.
The food is not hot or fresh, and extremely overpriced. More food for spanish speaking customers, it seems. Cant get over the price, plus the additional credit card upcharge. Its not the worst food .. its totally fine its just overpriced for medium okay food sitting out in trays behind dingy glass.
I could not believe how expensive this place has gotten. The portions are smaller and much more expensive. I’m a business owner so I get it. But what I charge for today was ridiculous. I got rice a side of beans which wasn’t even a half a cup and some cerdo for $18. Rice is super inexpensive and so are beans to be charging people that much is crazy. I’ve been coming here for 10 years and unfortunately, I am not doing it any longer. I know places in town that you get the same exact thing for $6.50.
Decent food, However, both horchata drinks ordered were spoiled and smelled unpleasant. We called the store and spoke to the owner, letting her know what was going on, and she was clearly in denial. I explained to her that we've order before many times and we know what the drink tastes like. She reprimanded me and refused to listen. I did not ask for a refund or replacement, but because of her treatment, I dropped off the drinks. Unfortunately, I will not order again from there.
The Food was average… I had better Honduran food out in Dover if your in the Morris County Area. For 2 Typical Dinners I had $51.00 Way too expensive . The portion was very small too. I do not recommend if you’re reading this.
Had a 2 hour drive and my husband and kids were so hungry we decided to stop mid-trip and eat Pupusas. We ordered 10 and were served nearly an hour after ordering. My child needed the restroom and the staff had them locked??? When we asked them to unlock it, the guy seemed irritable to do it. He hadn't even told us he unlocked it we just happened to see someone walk past with an apron heading back to the kitchen and when we peeked over the door was left ajar. The bathroom smelled rancid and very filthy, very unsanitary. They were also stingy with the napkins - cheap napkins. My kids had a small spill and, given the table was tilted a little, we wanted to avoid the spill from running down to the floor. We asked for a napkin and the server taking the order, ignored us the first time and the 2nd time laughed with the cook and commented that we "ask for too much". In the hospitality industry, this is absolutely unacceptable. To say the least, we were very disappointed by this treatment especially because we share the same culture. We will not be returning to this establishment.
My husband ordered Chuleta ("porkchop") with rice and bean and maduros. When I tell you this was SMALLEST THINNEST FLATTENED PIECE OF PORKCHOP, I AM NOT EXAGGERATING. I said something and they told me thats how it comes, meanwhile every other customer there is getting LOADS on meat on their plates. They charged un 15$ for that joke of a plate. I got a large soup and 2 empanadas and the total was 42$!!!!! I tipped 3$ but I shouldnt have as they dont even bring you the plate to your table. Im disgusted with this place and will never go back.
A few days ago I went to eat at this restaurant and I found it totally unpleasant. The food was super expensive, the meat and the preparation were of very low quality and the worst thing was that the service from the cashiers was very unpleasant and arrogant. I think that the owner of this place should invest in hiring staff that is not so unpleasant because as they charge a lot of money and serve little food, they should provide good service.
Feel misled by positive reviews. Very expensive for small portion. Luke warm food is precooked scooped from counter trays akin to cafeteria quality. Tried the chicken, pork & leaf wrapped rice/beans & couple sides, all tasted bland. Unfriendly staff speaks little English. No formal price list. Almost seems they charge randomly. Tired and dated looking interior with some tables for seating. Free parking as it’s located on same strip mall as Staples, a Japanese restaurant & grocery store.
Horrible. Super expensive and small portions. This place used to be good but now they’re stingy and serve you way smaller portions and if you ask for more they double the price. They also charge more if you pay with card on top of their already outrageous prices. Not coming here again it’s a ripoff. On top of already charging me an extra 4 dollars for paying with card, they charged me 50 cents for a box to take the food I couldn’t finish because of how bad it was home.
A local shabby place. Precooked food scooped up at your choice is barely couple degrees above room temperature. Expensive for small quantity & quality. Get better at regular dine in restaurants. Server & cashier is more friendly & bigger portion to Spanish speaking customer.
I've had way better honduran food, I got a carne asada and they looked like pieces of chicken nuggests. $16.00 for a plate with rice and beans. Cmon the pieces of meat were raw and I ordered two more plates to eat there and waited almost 20 mins for it and had to ask for it, the pollo con tajadas was not the best. I was recommended to this place, but ppl must be loosing there taste buds, I cook better pollo con tajadas at home, no offense. Could do better with the central American food.
