Excelente y curioso lugar.
Muchos gracias.
Honestly, one of the most magnificent traditional restaurant positioned in a picture postcard worthy location that I have ever been to. From start to finish the entire experience was wonderful. The staff were so friendly and had excellent English which really helped us as we don’t speak Spanish or Catalan. The menu was huge with a fantastic choice. The position overlooking the busy port allowing diners with window seats to watch the ships that go by and the little ferry boat bringing people from one side of the port to the other was magical. The food itself was so good that I wanted to go back the next day, unfortunately we were leaving for home. Will definitely be returning as soon as I’m back. We had the seafood grill and it was worth every bit! Fresh, smokely, buttery and most importantly cooked to perfection. Then we had the fish that was deboned in front of us and it tasted just like butter. I couldn't be more happier in my life. Lastly, to finish this off, the lobsters are picked from the middle of the restaurant that sit in the open seabed and as the orders come in the waitress use a rope and lift up the cage where the lobsters are stored. Then they pick the lobster in front of you. Not only you trully have a perfect seafood restaurant but you also get the freshed way possible to eat!!
First of all, do not follow Google Maps if you are driving. You will end up at some small mountain road overlooking the village where the restaurant is. Parking is at a large parking square 300m from the village by the water. Charming nice stroll through the village before arriving at the restaurant 5minutes walk. Can for the 1330hrs lunch sitting. Be patient as everyone arrives at roughly the same time, and table by table via 2-3 staff you are provided the menu and explained the specials. Ordered langoutines, jumbo tiger prawn and the highlight for me which was the carabinero prawns on rice served in a cast iron plate. Excellent!
Arriving by boat to this pretty restaurant with gorgeous views. The food was great we had seafood soup to start and then the monkfish with prawns and clams. Dessert was a tiramisu with a twist, we shared a bottle of wine. The bill came to £120 for two including drinks, well worth it. The lobster crate in the middle with the fresh catch was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend.
It’s a must to visit this place if you are staying near San Sebastián. Amazing seafood , fresh and super tasty! We tried lobster salad, pepper filled with squids, beans with seafood and the seafood cazuela!! Great variety of wines too! Totally recommended for a couples date and I love to take the boat for reaching the restaurants, the building infrastructure had a similarity of portofino
Casa Cámara is one of the oldest and most historic restaurants in Gipuzkoa, run by the Cámara family since 1884. Housed in a charming 17th-century mansion at the entrance of the port of Pasajes, the setting is as memorable as the food. We started with the octopus, clam, scallop, and king prawn stew served with Idiazabal cheese parmentier—rich, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. The cod and shrimp croquettes (12 pieces) were a great deal: creamy, crispy, and full of flavor. For the main course, we had the seafood paella, and it truly exceeded expectations. Packed with lobster and shrimp, it was easily the best seafood paella I’ve ever had. We also ordered the grilled seafood with garlic refrito (for one person)—a feast of lobster (1/2), Dublin Bay prawns, king prawns, scallops, clams, and velvet crab. Pure indulgence. The sole fish is also quite delicious and fresh. A unique touch: when you order lobster, they pull the live lobster cage up from a well in the center of the restaurant—a fascinating tradition that adds to the charm and authenticity of the experience.
Omg, make sure you're hungry!! Casa Cámara is a truly lovely, upmarket seafood restaurant on the most scenic location on the water's edge at Pasaia Donabane. Their menu features the freshest caught delights from the sea, and they even have a couple of lobster cages that lift out of the sea, directly into the dining area. The service is superb, as is the atmosphere, but the quality of the food is really what makes this place so special. We had the scallops and a lobster/prawn/avocado/apple salad to start, and Dover sole(s), steak and fries, and mixed seafood platter as mains. All the food was top notch. Totally delicious but absolutely huge portions. You need to reserve your table in advance as during the week, only lunch is on offer, and without a reservation you simply won't get to enjoy this gastronomic feast. Simply superb and everyone should go here at least once in their life!!

High expectations were fully met. we went for lunch. It is not the easiest place to get to, I was going to drive from nearby Hondaribbia but having looked at parking options, decided to get a taxi instead. I am happy I did. The fair was resonable and I got to enjoy the wine. Service, from start to finish was first class. Menu options were plentiful and food and wine prices were surprisingly reasonable. We had a window table with a wonderful view of the harbour. Couldn't ask for more. Starter, main course, and dessert were all very good.
We had a very memorable lunch here. Absolutely delicious seafood, great wine and very efficient service but not rushed at all. We had the whole turbot which was expensive but so worth it. Highly recommend walking from San Sebastián. You definitely need a booking but we managed to get a last minute one a few days out so keep checking!
The food is very fresh and affordable, great atmosphere and friendly staff. We loved the crab! Perfect.

I stopped by here while my trip in Basque Country, one of the best seafood restaurants I have ever been in, recommended
Ended up here with my family for a quick meal. Very pleasantly surprised. Good food. Friendly staff.
Excellent restaurant! I went with the family and the atmosphere is super welcoming. I highly recommend it, the food and service is wonderful.
When I was in the basque country I had signed up in this restaurant and I was very satisfied. Good price and especially good food.
Recently I was in a vocation on Basque country and I saw this restaurant and eat there with my family. Food is great and price good!
Excellent food in a beautiful area. The lobster and squid ink peppers were exceptional. The service however felt a little chaotic. It took about half an hour before we were even able to order, which actually left us unable to get dessert because the meal took so long to complete. We had a crack in a wine glass that we pointed out and the glass was taken away with the wine in it and replaced with an empty one. A little more attention to service would make it a wonderful all round experience.
Had such high hopes for this restaurant - heard amazing things and the lobster cages look really cool. When we arrived, the ambience was awkward, there’s no music and everyone was very quiet. The service felt rushed throughout and one waitress in particular, was rude. The seafood was to die for, really recommend the platter but don’t bother with the steak, we asked for blue and got well done.
We were really looking forward to visiting Casa Cámara, having read so many glowing reviews online. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. We visited on a Friday evening, arriving as one of the first diners at 8:30 pm. The restaurant filled up within an hour, but the atmosphere remained muted - no background music, and diners speaking in hushed tones, which made the space feel a bit lifeless. The food was the biggest disappointment. Given the restaurant’s reputation for seafood, we expected vibrant, fresh flavours, but most dishes were overly oily and bland. We ordered the Razor Clams special, but they were watery and tasteless. (We’d had razor clams at Ganbara earlier that day, which were bursting with flavour - and cheaper!). The artichoke stew with seafood was another miss. The artichoke base was flavourless, and the seafood mix included mussels, clams, oysters, and an unidentifiable membrane that we left untouched out of caution. For mains, we had the Roasted Monkfish, which was served and cut at the table. Sadly, it was swimming in oil and completely lacked the fresh, delicate flavour you’d expect - especially at €58 per kg. The sides were a mixed bag: the potatoes were probably the best thing we ate, while the roasted peppers were overcooked and bitter. The village of Pasai Donibane itself is beautiful and quaint, though parking is tricky, so plan to arrive early. There’s a small boat that crosses the harbour, but limited parking on that side put us off. We visited in the evening in late February, so it was pitch black outside - but I imagine the view would be lovely on a sunny summer day, so lunch might be a better option. The service was friendly, and the setting has potential, but the food just didn’t deliver - especially given the price. Sadly, we wouldn’t return.
The worst local in the area . Don’t spend your money there!!! Smeels very bad and the food is terrible.
