Excellent coffee shop in downtown Paso, just off the main square. Fantastic latte art, great coffee, cool vibes. Gets busy but it’s worth the wait. The baristas use measuring cups to prepare the beverages so everything tastes great! I got a vanilla iced latte & it was yum! happy camper!
Coffee Shop No. 436 Spearhead Coffee Co. Paso Robles, CA October 13, 2024 Coffee shops in Paso Robles have been on my radar since I started out on this caffeinated adventure, but I have never been able to get them on my itinerary when visiting Central California. Well, I finally did it and I am pretty sure I found two really great shops. They were full with locals and travelers. One of those shops was Spearhead Coffee Co. The line was long, the shop was packed, but it was worth the wait. The cortado was perfect and the vibe was exactly what I expected from a town perfectly situated between the beach and wineries. I sat outside with the beach breeze sipping on my cortado and people watching. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!
My favorite coffee roater and bar in Paso Robles because the coffee is smooth and flavorful. In addition to coffee they have teas and limited selection of pastries. They have both hot and cold and blended drinks. The ambiance is relaxed with music 🎶 playing in background that does not drown out conversations. Lines are long in the morning but the taste of your drink is worth the wait.
Best coffee shop in Paso. Love coming here as a treat.
It was a busy morning with a long line but they were quick to get the drinks out and the staff was super friendly. I like to get a drip and a specialty coffee when I visit a spot so I went with the horchata cold brew and the house drip. The drip coffee was fresh and tasty. The cold brew was strong and had a hint of cinnamon. They roast their own beans so you know the coffee is going to be as fresh as it can get.
Coffee with nice latte art! A very popular shop as you can it’s loved not only by the locals but also tourists. Nicely roasted house blend which compliments the sweetness of the milk. A slice of chiffon cake to perfect to go with the coffee. Highly recommend!
I went to Spearhead Coffee because I wanted some souvenirs from Paso Robles. I ended up buying coffee, pastries and a mug. Service was excellent. I really crave for the pastries while sipping the coffee.
Cute little local coffee shop in downtown Paso Robles. Selection of coffee, cold brew and espresso drinks as well as a small selection of pastries. They also sell coffee beans and a selection of merch. Nice atmosphere.
DELICIOUS coffee - that’s all I really need to say. Got their Mocha. Flavorful, wonderful consistency - rich. Service was decently fast. Looks like a large and lively coffee house too and they had a small but promising assortment of food. Really great. Un buen lugar para tomarse un cafecito - el espresso fue divino. Lo recomiendo!
Definitely order the Miel! So good -- creamy, not too sweet, and a great pick me up. The machiatto was also excellent. It was very strong, lovely bitterness, and aromatic. The atmosphere is very laid back and chill. The interior is bright and trendy. Not a ton of seating options, but still a good place to grab a table (if you can) and work. The prices are fair for the quality. Definitely one of the best coffee joints in Paso Robles.

My latte was delicious. Flavorful and silky. Great espresso. What a relief after a subpar latte the day before in Atascadero. The line was really long, and I wouldn't say it moved quickly with one person taking orders. But they were super friendly and we weren't in a rush. I'd definitely go back.

It’s a nice coffee shop providing exceptional baked goods options. The coffee tastes amazing; but the baked goods are far superior. The orange cake, jalapeño scones was outstanding!! The downside is that service is very slow.
Nice coffee shop with plenty of seating. I might have not tried the right thing, but the Aztec mocha was just okay. The flavor balance was a little off but, again, that was just one menu item. Also if you want to grab a bite get there early - the pastries run out before noon. If you want a laid back place to meet up with friends this will do the trick.
This is a cute little coffee shop. The staff is welcoming and service is quick. We tried the spiced butterscotch latte which was super delicious! And cardamom latte which was yummy too although the cardamom flavor was very subtle. Lastly we tried the jalapeño cheese scone which was good too. The latte art they do is absolutely amazing and beautiful! Nice coffee shop to work as well, they have plenty of seating available. Def recommend!
We stopped by during our drive from Santa Barbara to San Jose, and the coffee is really good. We tried one of their house specials along with our usual go to (a Latte). Was pleasantly surprised to see a specialty coffee place in a small town like Paso Robles. They even have something called Cappi-hour (15% off on cappuccinos) from 2 PM to 5 Pm during week days, which I thought is interesting. Great ambience and love the vibe!

This is the longest I’ve ever had to wait for a coffee beverage. But this was also the best mocha I’ve ever had in my life. So if you are in the area and not in a hurry, come here, be prepared to stand and wait because the tables are usually full, but you will have a very tasty beverage as your reward.

Can you warm up my scone? “We don’t warm up pastries, they are straight out of the oven” *hands me a somehow colder than room temp scone* Just say you don’t have a microwave. Coffee was fine. Not an award winning PSL so get something different. Scone would have been awesome warm. Atmosphere would be great for meeting a friend or doing homework.
I have mixed feelings about writing a review like this but I can’t help it. Spearhead has some of the best coffee I have tasted and their cafe is well decorated. However, I am constantly met with baristas who have a unwelcoming arrogance that really brings the cafe down. Please train your staff to be more respectful to the patrons who are willing to pay $8-$10 for coffee. A simple thank you for coming in and smiles go a long way.

Hubby and I ordered 2 cappuccinos and 2 scones. Cappuccinos were flat with no foam and the scones had so much leavening, they were nearly light cakes. We won't return.
Shoutout to the barista on bar today with the short wavy hair — she was the only person who treated my friend and I with genuine kindness and professionalism. Our cappuccinos were great because of her. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff made the experience uncomfortable. When my friend and I walked in, the two baristas at the register didn’t greet us, stared us up and down, and made no effort to make us feel welcome despite us being the only customers entering at the time. One of them was noticeably cold and dismissive toward my friend, then switched to an overly “nice” tone with me, which felt unprofessional and honestly strange. I haven’t visited in years and hoped the customer service issues mentioned in many other reviews had improved, but the same energy is still there. The atmosphere felt judgmental and awkward, not warm or inviting. The drinks were decent, but the prices don’t match the experience. If you’re looking for a coffee shop with good service and a comfortable vibe, this isn’t the place.
Honestly the coffee here left much to be desired. The barista with long black hair in a ponytail, I don’t think, said not one word to us. We both said hi and she blankly stared at us, not even an effort to say hello or ask us what we wanted. Not a thank you and even bypassed our receipt preference. This must be an ongoing issue, as I can read in other reviews that the staff is not friendly. Maybe if the staff were happier, the coffee would taste better.

This place is not run properly!!! The managers are rude and talk down to younger staff. The other managers or people in charge have no idea what's going on in there. The turn over is ridiculous and now I see why, it used to be a place where one could relax and enjoy all they had to offer but after hearing the way a fire haired woman spoke to and about the young girls/staff, it will NOT be going back!!! The younger staff are all smiles, polite and interact so well with all the people that come in until the "manager" walks in and the mood is completely different. I have never see someone walk on egg shells and have terror on their faces. As a customer we can see it. We can see where the problem is! You can get a better cup of coffee anywhere but here!!!
