Found a new place to eat. It is in Buttonwillow California and it is called Taste of India. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS!!!!! I WILL GO AGAIN. To start, the service was excellent. Older gentleman and he was great. Very attentive and nice. The decor and atmosphere were authentic Indian and it felt nice being there. Now the food. I had salad, Garlic Naan, Rice and Cheese Masala. The salad, rice and Naan were really good. However, the Cheese Masala was friggin superb. So much flavor packed in that little bowl. Was worth every penny I paid. I very highly recommend this place.

Food is very good and homely. I tried the rajma and chhole and both were good. Madhu uncle was very helpful and friendly and I definitely recommend this place.

Vegan (plant-based, dairy-free) options. Conveniently you can find small items that you might forgotten to pack on the road like Pepcid, toothbrushes, other personal care items, even alcohol and cooking stove and propane canisters!

It’s a great restaurant I always love to stop when I’m in that area. Right on the exit. Run by few old sweet people, and saag always hit the spot. Little grocery store and Indian beverages are a plus.

went above and beyond “not wanting to get fast food from a big chain” - Such generous portion plus perfect spice combinations, the chicken was so tender. The staff was very kind and courteous - plus eager to help me box up my leftovers. Would recommend and looking forward to coming by again!

My wife and I were on our way back from Paso Robles and we happened across this incredible gem in Buttonwillow, Ca. We live in Los Angeles and we love Indian food, but this restaurant blows all of our spots away. The restaurant is unassuming, from the outside it is red with a tile roof and has a simple sign and a painting of a pair of zebras. The inside is a large, open floor plan with long banquet style tables and chairs. There is a large display of Indian beer and bottles of liquor. Next to the displays are two coolers with various drinks and beer. The Eggplant Curry was perfect (this is a word that will occur often in this review). The curry was slightly gritty, giving it a true homemade feel. The Lentils were divine. The heat was perfect on both dishes, it was the exact amount of heat that provided flavor and did not offend the tongue. Then there was the naan... oh my goodness, that naan. Considering our love for Indian food, we each have an idea in our minds of how naan should taste and of its texture. We have had lots of naan that was awfully close, this was dead on. Coming back to the word perfect, we agreed that this was it! Our server, Maloo (sp), was warm, friendly and excited to hear our opinion of the food. We loved the food so much that we ordered an entire second portion of everything to take with us, because we will not be able to make it here as often as we would like. We will definitely be making several trips out here, so I suppose we will need to find a reason to get to the area as much as possible. I have birthday coming up, so I think I will suggest that my wife and I come here and stay at the hotel across the road that has Jacuzzi suites!

Good, clean place with courteous staff. The bathrooms are clean and stocked with paper napkins. We had seen this place multiple times from the I-5 on our way to San Francisco or LA, but always had a doubt. Stopped once out of necessity and were proven wrong about our earlier doubts. We found the place clean and the food awesome. Have attached some pictures of the interior. It's a nice compartmentalized seating for more privacy between patrons. We had a very good experience.

I was never really a fan of Indian food as my experiences before were bad. It wasn't until today, that I felt I have truly had, a 'Taste of India'. My wife ordered the chicken curry, and soon after I ordered one for l myself. Everything about the Curry was just perfect. The seasoning, the spices, and the chicken, were absolutely delicious. I look forward to my next visit and to enjoying some more of there delicious chicken curry. Thank you for the experience.

We ordered chicken briyani, lamb curry, and naan. The price is reasonable with the amount of food that we received and the quality of it. If you can't handle the spiciness, choose mild or medium. The staffs are very friendly and it's said there that the restaurant is under a new management. Everyone should definitely give it a try! One of the best Indian food I've eaten so far! They also serve halal meat.

The food was unreal and the decorations are pure traditional. Though the saag paneer was a bit sour the service was helpful and generous!

This place is amazing! As soon as you walk-in, the staff welcomes you with an awesome smile! The food smell in the restaurant makes you day-dream travel to India, the music, the environment. The FOOD!!! So, so tasty and DELICIOUS!! I'm a truck driver so I am very flavored-demanding. This place earned 100% on all subjects. I ordered what's in the picture I attached, I can't recall it's name but I LOVED IT!!. I will came back to this paradise over and over again and for sure will taste every single plate they prepare!!

Food was amazing. The best I've had in awhile and top 3 of all time. Eaten at at least 50 different restaurants. Last time traveling to so cal, saw it so we decided to stop this time. Food good, clean, good service, food portions were large. Prices are mid compared to otherd. A plus for me, they have goat and lamb on the menu. Downside, was music was really loud indian hip hop. After 5 minutes they turned the volume down though.

An Indian restaurant off the I-5, probably the only one for many miles. Keep this in mind and temper your expectations accordingly. It has good north Indian food, I had the laccha Paratha with saag paneer and the veggie pakora. The laccha Parathas were excellent, comparable to any good restaurant, paneer was great too. Also had the vegetarian pakora with the green chutney, have to say their green chutney was fresh and really good.

We were on the way back to mountain view from Los Angeles along with my parents and they prefer Indian food. we were lucky to find this restaurant on the way and gas station near by too. Food was really awesome we tried various items malai kofta shahi paneer panner masala Tandoori naan and other items included non vegetarian. All items were delicious and definitely worth try when you are passing this way. Small grocery store is also available inside.

Pleasently surprised!! The food was yummy. Ordered the chili nann bread, Rita, chicken biryani, Lamb curry, and aloo Gobi spicy! The food was authentic and had great flavor. Also picked up a jar of honey which is hella good. It's located in the middle of nowhere much better option then the usual fast food spots hands down. I'll definitely be back the next time I travel from the Bay to LA. The old man was who greeted and served us was great didn't get his name, but he was funny.

This place is amazing, with a great ambiance. We enjoyed parathas and tea, which took us back to a Punjabi Indian restaurant taste in India. It was a delightful experience, a perfect spot for a break and to savour authentic Indian cuisine.

Driving home from LA to the Bay stopped at Sinclair's Gas station off exit 58 like I always do. I've passed this spot countless times, but I was skeptical seeing as how it's in the middle of nowhere. Well today I decided to finally give it a try. So glad I did!! The older gentleman there was hilarious didn't catch his name but he greeted me when i walked in and told me to have pick a table and have a seat. I looked around and was the only customer there now I'm even more skeptical but hey I'm already here might as well. Fast forward 5 min my order was placed and I waited for my food. I ordered the Chilli 🌶 nann bread (x2 added an order to go), Rita (x 2 one to go), Aloo Gobi, Chicken Biryani, Lamb Curry, and a Old Monk 10000 Super Beer 🍺. The food came out and I could smell the goodness I knew I was in the right place. There must have been at least 25 customers who walked in to pick up to go orders the food. The customer service was great, food was served quickly, and packed with authentic flavor. I'll definitely stop by again the next time I travel from the Bay to LA or LA back to the Bay.

After driving for a couple hours to go to northern California I stopped here for food, that was the best food decision I ever made, I ordered chicken biriyani, this was the best indian I've ever had, if your nearby I highly recommend coming her and giving the garlic naan and chicken biriyani a try🙏🏻.

Update: 12/21/25 When I arrived around 5pm the gentleman asked us to look at the menu and order at the cash register. This is a change from prior visits. Please see updated menu. Taste of India is considered a "Dhaba" As described by google, "A dhaba is a roadside restaurant in the Indian subcontinent. They are on highways, generally serve local cuisine, and also serve as truck stops." Location is on Interstate-5 and 0.2 miles from the offramp. Generally in India Dhaba's have tables, and chairs and most travelers enjoy the food which is excellent and much more flavorful then a typical Indian Restaurant. Here the flavors of authentic local cuisine one would find at a Dhaba in India. I tried the half tandoori chicken which was excellent, Dal Makhni, and my wife tried the Malai Kofta. Coffee also was delicious. This place is family run, and you will not be disappointed. Price: All items have their price raised by one dollar due to inflation. See menu prices below.

We stopped on our trip back from LA to this restaurant and we ordered paranthas and chai. The food was very fresh and tge chai was amazing, we had to order more paranthas to satisfy our cravings.

Outstanding! Food is prepared hot. "Medium" spice is just perfect. Chicken tikka masala and garlic naan with the side of the basmanti rice is a very filling meal. And as a recommendation I let the waiter pick my desert popsicle I'm guessing it was mango and it tasted like very Sublime mango sorbet with a finish of kerrygold butter I suppose is ghee. They have a complete shelve space on the wall of Indian products like soaps and other household stuff it seems interesting, looks like a good place for tourists to load up. Also a great variety of liquor bottle options that would make great gift sets.

Delicious Indian food! We ate the Tikki Masala, samosas, Alu parathas… everything was super delicious. This is the third time we have stopped at this Restaurant on our way from the Bay Area to Southern California.

In my opinion, the best Indian food in CA. I am a great home cook, so my standards are high. This one hit my taste buds in a way that reminded me of home! The fish pakoras were crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. The matar paneer and the chicken tikka masala were the best I have ever tasted in restaurants. What left me amazed was the kulcha, crisp on the outside with the inside as soft as the insides of fresh baked bread. And it stayed that way even when cold.

I was lucky to find their food truck next to my Best Western hotel last night on the way to LA. They provided me with a quick hot vegetarian meal after a long day of driving.

Very nice food, tasty! Waiter referred us very good indian beers. Additionally the place was cozy with many ventilators, nice temperature and the right lights for a romantic dinner. All clean and themed of India with music and video clips plus decoration, products to buy and desserts. We recommend 👍🏼

The flavor here is TOP NOTCH! I had the eggplant curry, vegetable samosas & garlic naan. I eat Indian food once a week in Phoenix, AZ, and my usual spots can’t top this spot. You have to stop by and enjoy the cuisine! The beer is great, too! Try out the strong Indian beer! It’s delicious!

Fantastic Indian food with a cool little market. They had the best Saag Paneer I've ever had. Everything else was fresh, well prepared & flavorful. It is not fancy & the 1 server/cashier/busboy stayed very busy. Taste of India is my new "must stop here" on way from SF Bay Area to LA.

When you think of excellent Indian food, Buttonwillow isn't high on the list of locations that would have it. It's a misconception. Taste of India is the spot. I highly recommend stopping in. Freeway adjacent and worth your time. Please please stop and enjoy a great meal provided by enthusiastic staff.

We stopped here on a road trip and it was a great choice! Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. My kids can’t handle spicy food so he made their dishes with no spice and they loved them. Everything we got was good but the garlic naan and mushroom mutter were my favorites! Great service too.

S
Samia Uddin

The food is probably not authentic but it’s good. The medium spice is normal and the spicy level is actually spicy which I appreciated. Prices are fair and the bottled water were free. The service is okay. The cleanliness of the general restaurant and bathroom could be better. If I made this drive again, I would revisit and I do recommend this place to anyone who lives close by or drives through here like we did. Things our family ate here: chicken biryani, shrimp biryani, goat biryani, kadhai chicken, butter chicken, chili naan, and mango lassi. The kadhai chicken really only had one piece of meat and mostly onions/peppers so that was kind of disappointing. Everything else was good-portioned and tasty.

We had a wonderful Lunch here. Had the Dahi Bhalla, Panneer Bhurji and Garlic Naan. They were so delicious, tasty and very flavorful. They recommend some specials apart from the Menu and we had the Masala Soda, my god the best ever I had in the recent years. Definitely will visit again 😃👍🏻

Excellent spot! I was recommended their aloo parathas but sadly they were out when I arrived for dinner. Owner assured me they’d have them the next time I came by. The other subzis I had were so incredible I went back for lunch a few days later, and sure enough, the parathas were excellent! Definitely a staple for next time.

I have wanted to try this place for so many years and finally did. We had the naan, tawa roti, lamb curry, and half chicken tandoori. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The location is perfect. It’s right off the freeway, with ample seating, and a lot of character inside. You can even pick up some Indian snacks and groceries while you’re there. Next time you’re hungry on the 5 freeway, skip the chain fast food and come here.

Food was delicious and the service was excellent. If you want fast food you should try going to jack in the box or McDonalds. It’s been a few years since the last time I came here with my wife and the only thing that we noticed was different was the seating area was updated. Highly recommend the butter chicken it’s just the best dish ever. If you feel like the staff are rude it’s in your head and you need educated on cultures outside of the United States. Everything was just perfect in every way possible. I’d give more stars if I could.

The food here is amazing, and the atmosphere is equally delightful. It feels like you’re dining in a traditional Indian dhaba. I ordered the yellow dal, bhindi, and chicken tikka masala, and everything was absolutely delicious. To conclude the meal, I indulged in the gajar halwa, which was equally amazing! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

Fabulous, memorable food. We ordered Butter Chicken and Mutter Paneer and wished we coukd order more. But 2 people can only eat so much! I always stop by here whenever I visit SoCal. the staff is friendly and quick to seat you and take your order. I always order the chicken tikka masala(extra spicy), raita, and garlic naan and it hits the spot every time!! I swear they have the best chicken tikka masala out of the countless Indian restaurants I've been too. I'm not sure if he's the owner or not but the older gentleman with the short hair is so sweet and funny and always tries to accommodate my modifications. he's been my server every time I've visited looking forward to the next time I travel down there and get to stop by here 😋 thank you all the for great food! 🫶🏼

Great late night spot for Indian food while driving through I-5. We went here on a weekend night for dinner and it is was pretty crowded. The concept is pretty much straight forward. You order, pay and pick up at the counter. There is no table service. There are just tables and chairs, sit where you find a spot. The food was ready in a few minutes, so not a long wait time. The food is good, not the best Indian that I have had but tasty enough and value for money.

R

Super casual dhaba style food... not so busy over lunch. Indian comfort fresh food. Great stopover between bay area and LA. Ordered butter chicken, daal makhani, egg curry, tandoor roti..topped off with Taj Mahal beer. Small convenience store has things for the road.. prices were comparable to bay area restaurants.. so enough margins to improve presentations, silverware, utensils. Can also use less color and haldi.. watch out for color on your fingers..Blaring punjabi music videos can be toned down. Be definitely back..

R
Richard Frost

The food is very good, I recommend it. There is a traditional India menu and a separate vegan subset menu. The music is a bit loud at times. I've been passing this place on the I-5 for at least 4 decades. Tonight though I'm staying a few doors down at the Motel 6. Glad I tried it.

D

The place can use some better lighting inside. Our friends raved about this place so we went out of our way to try it out. Decent food but not sure if we will come back again. Fair pricing, couple of bucks less than other places.

S
Sandeep Raj Gandiga

Good food near freeway. Malai Kofta, Shahi paneer, veg korma, all curry gravies tasted similar, would ask for more spicy next time. Garlic naan and roti were soft and good. Veg biryani was good too with more veggies. Dal was oily. Definitely come next time.

Food quality has improved a lot this year This dhaba was not my go-to place as the other ones in Bakersfield area were much better However, I had food on a couple of occasions and their food tasted much better in 2023 Bindi masala, dal, shahi paneer, paratha, tandoori roti, and garlic naan bread were really good Mango lassi was great too Don't miss their rasgollas Malai kofta was not fully cooked and same was the case with jeera rice on one occasion

R
Roy Denish

Accidentally walked into the place, this place reminded of casual restaurants in India. Totally crowded place, wait times vary but average is 20-30 minutes but the hostess pays very good attention of each and everyone who walks through the doors. The waiting staff is excellent. Don’t expect fan and fare, the decor is dull and dimly lit, but the food is great, spicy, tangy and the meat dishes absolutely delicious. Nevertheless dishes bit pricey. Just an advise don’t try the tea here because it’s insipid.

C
Charlie Pearson

Food is flavorful and restaurant has a little section where you can buy snacks and other things. They need two people in the front though. One person is taking to go orders and dining orders and it takes a long time to even get a to go container. Servings are large so one order can probably feed two people. Naan is also really good.

B
Bart Spicer

I’ve been passing by this spot for years and finally tried it. The food was great but don’t expect an amazing dining experience. We ordered butter chicken, chicken masala, aligobi, vegetable rice and garlic naan. All of it was very tasty and high quality.

Happened to see while driving from LA to Bay Area off of Highway 5. Stopped but to have a quick bite. Looks better from outside than inside. Feels more like a Mess Hall than a restaurant when you walk in. Great to have good Indian food in the middle of no where. Not too many varieties as such but you can find the most common North Indian stuff. Enjoyed the Plain Naan and Malai Kofta. They can adjust the spice level to your desire. Bathrooms definitely need work.

B
Bincy Jacob

We were served by an uncle who was from Hyderabad so warm and genuine, forgot to ask his name ( my bad). It’s rare to find service that feels this sincere. As for the food? Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served at the perfect temperature. A must-visit!"

B
Bryan Nagaishi

Probably seen this place 100 times, this dump in the middle of nowhere.... The amazon garage lights in the ceiling and cafeteria like dining room should set 0 expectations. This will set you up to enjoy the food more. Tried the goat curry and chicken tiki masala w basanti rice and garlic nan. Sets you back almost $50. Taste is decent. Perhaps not as rich/bold as the reviews say. Goat was a bit tough. Chicken cuts uneven. I liked the rice over the nan as it was a bit more doughy than I like. They can make it spicy w a decent kick. They do not offer free water.

The tandoori roti and garlic naan are so good! The tandoori chicken was okay, but had a bit of a burnt smell. Overall, it’s one of the good options for lunch or dinner when traveling between LA and LV in the US. I’ve been here many times and keep coming back

We stumbled upon this place on our way to LA once and since this place has become a regular food stop for our travel. The place doesn’t seem much but the food is authentic and delicious! I think their bread (Naan) are probably the best version I have eaten in California. On our trip this time we got the usuals Tadka Dal and Malai Kofta. Got to try their Chicken Curry and it was full of flavor and amazingly good. Will come again on our next trip to LA.

Decent indian restaurant on route i5. Food good but the portion was very less. Waited 20 minutes to receive the order. It may vary based on the time and day. One restroom for each gender and looks like they clean it once a day.

The food was absolutely delicious! The yellow dal was flavorful, the tawa roti tasted freshly made, and the garlic naan was just amazing. The service was excellent too—it really reminded me of those comforting pit stops at a dhaba after a long drive in India. Definitely a must-visit spot, especially after five straight days of fast food and pizza—this was such a refreshing and satisfying food!

This restaurant is located at I5. It looked like a small Punjabi dhaaba, as the interior the look was amazing. Serving was superb and have kept the restaurant amazingly clean. Along with this restaurant they also have a tinny little shop were you can find some essential stuff. Food I will not rate 5. As being Indian I know what exactly it must taste like and am also aware of its origins flavor. Me and my husband ordered chicken biryani and mutton biryani. It didn’t look Or taste like biryani its looked like they have mixed all the rice along with the chicken or mutton gravy. It has so much spices that it only tasted masala, they also served curd along with the biryani and it really tasted amazing as it felt like homemade. I also enjoyed the mango lassi it was very refreshing.

I was going to give this place 4 stars until the bill came. They charge $7.99 for a 22oz bottle of beer!!!! The price isn't listed. Guess I shoulda asked. Still tho... The other prices are fair. Samosa were overcooked on my chana Samosa, but still ok. Best tandoori fish I've ever had. I'll be back. I just won't get a beer...(sad)

Service was really good by the owner. We really liked him and his service. We ordered Dal, Channa Masala, Tandoori Roti and Jeera rice. All were okay. Channa Masala was very watery. The overall taste has to definitely get better. The dishes lacked flavour. If this gets sorted, it’s definitely worth a 5 star. The 3 star also is mainly for the owner and his friendly behaviour. Thank you sir. Visited and reviewed on 03.04.2023

Pretty pricey spot in the middle of "nowhere." It's a decent Indian restaurant, but I don't think it makes a good road trip out stop, nor is it worth travelling to. The food felt expensive for what I got.

We stopped here on our way to the Bay area. This was our second time here. The food was good, it wasn't great but I also didn't hate it. I had Malai Kofta, which was good. My husband had Butter Chicken. Garlic Naan was good however Tandoori Roti was very dry. The place is unnecessarily dark, very few lights in the evening. And definitely needs to be cleaned up more. The plates weren't very clean. A couple of tables were just full of used plates that hadn't been cleaned after customers. They don't serve water, you have to buy bottles from them.

This dhaba style restraunt is conveniently located on highway 5. We stopped here enroute LA. Its also close to a Tesla super charger which was extremely helpful. Stop here only if you need to grab quick snacks or tea. Don’t keep high expectations from this place in terms of service or quality of food. Sardarji who served us was a kind soul and was steadfast in helping us since we were visiting with a kid, but the quality of food was not good.

But device has gone backwards, you have to order at the counter, and the food arrives in plastic containers, as if it is takeout. Music too loud and irritating flickering holiday lights (I can see the 120 Hertz flicker) so not recommended for folks with photosensitive epilepsy.

The food was just okay — nothing particularly special. The waiting time was around 40 minutes, which felt a bit long. However, the staff were very polite, nice, and friendly, but overall the experience could definitely be improved with faster turnaround and more flavourful dishes.

Get a taste of India … and not in a good way. Service is really poor and it takes an hour to get your food. Customers who will yell and walk up most to the counter will get their order first. Be prepared to add hour plus to your drive. Hygiene is also a concern. Open stinky trash bins will greet you at the entrance and are left unattended on the dining floor as well. Bugs and flies everywhere.

I stopped by here on my way home. I ordered 1 masala chai, 1 palak paneer and 1 half of Tandoori chicken and 1 order of plain rice. I was charged $45.47! They over charged me by $5-7!! Also Initially they told me it would take 10-15 mins but I had to wait for more than 30 mins here. Come only if you have time to wait. Ask for a detailed receipt (not just CC receipt) as you may get tricked to paying more here like I was.

We had dinner here and it was quite mid. They could not make spicy food if their lives depended in it. I asked for fire breathing hot, and got medium. My dish tasted ok otherwise, but my wife's food was meh. The veggies tasted like something microwaved and the vegetarian dish was so salty.

We ordered dal makhani and Bhendi masala, Dal makhani was rotten and day old Bhendi masala was very very oily couldn’t even finish half.. Don’t ever go there. I wish there was option to give less than 1 star.

"I'm so glad I spent 50$ to be disappointed" said no one ever. First off, we walk in, the whole place is empty of customers, and the 3 people working there just look at us. There's no reception no cash register, nothing. So we walk in a bit and, after standing there with them just staring at us for almost 45 seconds I ask, "...should we seat ourselves, or order, or...?" And one of the guys scoffs and says "no, order over here." So we go over to order. After ordering, I ask for a receipt. He's cagey and kinda weird about it so I'm glad I did. He over charged us on everything. The menu says my paneer masala was 12.99 but the receipt shows he charged me 13.50. That's absolutely insane. There's added tax and tip at the bottom and we asked to take out so why the hell would he just up the price and charge us more for no reason?? Total scam. But then, we finally get the food. We had asked for take out, and, when he started putting to go containers on the table and plastic plates, I assumed there was no miscommunication. But then, when my partner asked if we could get a bag, he kind of freaked. He acted like we were going back and forth and being a pain for wanting what we had asked for in the beginning. Poor service. My partner used the restrooms and said they absolutely reeked and were nasty. Super gross for a food establishment. The server eventually brought back our food, so we took it and left. But when we tried it, another disappointment! For a restaurant that closes at 11 pm, our 8 pm arrival was nothing close to closing. So, to have my curry HALF FULL WITH WATER is insane. I got paneer masala. A classic. Something that is relatively common. The only explanation I can think of was that they were running low and didn't want to make another batch or something. So instead, they just filled the rest of my to go tub with water. I ate this suspension of curry water just to make sure I wasnt confused or something but no. Every bite was flavorless and wet. A masala should be buttery and flavorful. What the heck??! It was disgusting and disappointing. I wish I could go back in time and save myself the money and the disappointment. Tldr: they charged more than listed prices and the food was poor. Don't eat here

Love Indian food, but maybe this place is not for your average non-Indian. Cold Day and the place was FREEZING, everything was a la carte, the wait staff not particularly friendly or English proficient. Food was ok.

I bought this chicken biryani yesterday oct 9th 2023 at 10:30pm. its only the half box of biryani and half dahi and charged me 14$ and i ordered and ask for spicy biryani bt this is average in taste also. Shamed on the staff that if you dont have proper meal why you picked the order,i suggest all my trucker friends never visit that kind of restaurant. It was very bad experience with this restaurant.

Does taste of India has a standard? Do they even care? Does Federal Food Inspection even exist in California? A pathetic place, dirty, and like hell. They are cheating people. They directly ask for cash. They are hell cheat and dump. A trash place to stop. Why don’t they clean up?

If i could give 0 stars or negative points I would. The service was probably the worst I have ever experienced. They don't even give you water unless you exclusively buy a bottle from them. We ordered rajma, chilli chicken, and 2 parathas and everything was cold, tasteless and cooked by someone who doesn't know how to cook. And everything arrived extremely late after multiple reminders to the waiting staff. I would recommend owners to do a complete overhaul of the place and to customers - go somewhere else (McDonald's and TacoBell is nearby). Save your money and time.

The food was very good, but my wife and kids got sick because of the overuse of cleaning products. My wife even thought that they were using it in the diffuser. It smelled like Fabuloso. She has had a migraine for the last two hours. We will not be going back. When I called to ask about it the lady hung up on me 3 times. There was also a bunch of flies that got tracked into my car from the restaurant. Disappointed.

I ate egg plant Sabji, Rice and got diarrhea, after 20 minute of eating food. Truck drivers please avoid this place, I made 4 stops within 1 hour and could not eat anything the entire day. Unhygienic and spoiled food at Taste of India.

Review: I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. If you’re expecting authentic Indian street food, especially pani puri, this is not the place. The flavors were way off, and the overall quality was poor. Unfortunately, it felt like a waste of both time and money. I wouldn’t recommend this spot—definitely a no from over side

The food quality was really bad, they served us bad quality daal and vegetable pakora was not cooked from inside. Rest other food was ok, but will never come again.

I recently dined at Taste of India restaurant, and unfortunately, I found the food quality to be subpar. The dry dishes had an excessive amount of oil, which affected the overall taste negatively. Improvement in cooking methods is needed for a more enjoyable dining experience.

The food was Garbage. I came here with my family with high expectations with how they hyped it up. Came here to some tandoori shrimp that wasn’t even tandoori shrimp. The most bland chicken curry i’ve ever had. The food tasted like it was sitting there and just microwaved before serving. They need to get it together.

Lots of car break-in’s at their parking lot with no cameras or security. Security and atmosphere is not safe. We got our car broken-in with 3 other cars in total at the same time. Restaurant folks were not cooperative with the cops either.

AVOID!!! Stopped at this place while heading back to bay area for our dinner. Me and my friends ordered vegetable pakora, malai kofta, chicken kadhai, daal, tandoori roti, naan. They served spoiled daal, and uncooked pakoras 2 times. First we sent back, 2nd time also they sent uncooked pakoras. Malai kofta was okay. They never got dal back and didn't care to inform that they can't get new or asked for replacing with something else.

The overall experience was quite disappointing. The staff was not friendly or welcoming, and despite being asked to order at the register, there was a clear expectation for tips, which felt inappropriate given the level of service. When we were seated, the table was wet and dirty. We requested it to be cleaned, but the staff was resistant and did a very shoddy job, leaving us no choice but to adjust and make do. Disposable plates were provided, which was disappointing and felt cheap. The food itself was average at best and certainly not worth the high prices charged. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations and offered poor value for money.

I recently dined at Taste of India restaurant and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. To start, I ordered the Paneer Tikka, which was lackluster. The paneer had an overwhelming sour taste, and even the green pepper seemed off. Moving on to the main course, I opted for the butter chicken gravy with garlic naan. However, the chicken in the gravy was undercooked, which was a major letdown. The saving grace was the garlic naan, which was decent. I also tried their mango lassi, which was just okay. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. I was hoping for some comforting food after a long drive, but my expectations were not met.

I visited this restaurant recently and was very disappointed with the service. The service boy was very rash and unprofessional in his behavior, which made the experience uncomfortable. Good food and service should go hand in hand, and I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and trains the staff better.

One of the worst Indian food I have had in the US. It is a rip off where the owners try to exploit the traffic on I-5. I seriously doubt that they get repeat customers here. All the dishes we ordered here tasted like they made the food with expired oil and outdated masala. Absolutely pathetic. Please avoid!

I stopped at Taste of India in Buttonwillow (20687 Tracy Ave) hoping for a decent Indian meal on the road. I ordered Chicken Tandoori and Pani Puri, but what I got was a total disaster. The Chicken Tandoori was dry, flavorless, and tasted like it was reheated from days ago. The Pani Puri was a joke – no real Indian flavor, the water was bland, and the puris were soggy and stale. This was not even close to authentic Indian food. I politely raised the issue with the staff, expecting at least an acknowledgment or some gesture of goodwill. Instead, they dismissed my complaint and still charged me fully – even for the food we barely touched. That’s unacceptable. If you’re looking for Indian food, do yourself a favor and skip this place. It’s overpriced, inauthentic, and clearly doesn’t care about customer satisfaction.
