Wow. Where do I start. Do not be afraid to try something new. Everything is fresh, and really delicious. The staff is amazing. Very talented Hispanic cooks, amazing servers. This place never disappoints. Sad to leave phelan but when I return, this place will be my number 1 choice for sure!!

Great Food, Great Price! Just had the Steak and Shrimp Dinner! For $12.00!!! Dinner salad or soup included. 3 fried shrimp, grilled steak( My Great Granny would call this a breakfast steak). But it was cooked very good on the grill and tasty. Also came with a Baked Potato and Vegetable, and a piece of Garlic Toast! I couldn't finish it!!!!

Prices continue to go up. As marcos's business ventures continue to try and expand, apparently we the customers must pay for it. Shame. This used to be a reasonable priced place to eat. A burrito that cost $7.00 two years ago, now cost $10.50.

They got it all and its all GREAT!!! The Sourdough Ortega burger with Bacon is just too good! The Philly Cheese Steak literally melts in your mouth. Bacon Cheeseburgers... Some places have, for decades, dedicated themselves to making a hamburger. BK, Jack, Wendy's, etc. And yet they get nastier every year. Downtown Burgers does NOT sell solely hamburgers, has nearly anything you could desire on the menu, and the Bacon Cheesburgers are the best I have ever tasted. The girls behind the counter are awesome, the cooks are fantastic, the restaurant is clean, and everyone is happy and polite. There is no need to go anywhere else.

Down Town Burgers can be busy at times, but the food is great and affordable. The restroom is clean and has what you need to do your business. Handicap parking is easy to get. The driver through is normally fast and accurate with orders. Most of the time it is a quiet place to eat with the family. I like the place in the mornings the most.

TLDR Good food, good service. Great for any meal. Heard it had some of the best burgers in the HD and I'd have to agree. Few places have fried zucchini anymore so happy to find good fried zucchini close by, unfortunately fried mushrooms weren't so good but rarely see them done good.

1st time eating here read a lot of positive reviews on Facebook and it was all true if I had anything negative it would only be the size of the big menu board writing Oh My Gawd tiny isn't even close and yes I'm old eyes are shot thank goodness for the menus on the counter top. Great food huge portions super clean tasted yummy in my tummy.

This place is down the street from my boys school. Whenever I'm in the area I usually stop and pick up breakfast. Their breakfast burritos are delicious and so big! The prices aren't bad either.

This place is actually very good I was driving through town and happen to stop for a bite and was absolutely impressed. The food and the pricing was excellent and the service exceptional. I'm going to make it a point whenever I come through the phelan area to stop here. The breakfast burrito was beyond delicious definitely a solid 11/10!

The food here is great. They have a lot of variety and big portions. You get a sit down experience, for the price of fast food. Although there is no wait staff, the food is brought directly to your table after you order at the register. I highly recommend this establishment.

It's good but can't complain

First of the business has a very friendly and welcoming staff. The facility also is very clean and neat lobby also bathrooms are the same. The food portions are very filling and the prices are VERY good in my opinion especially for the area. My wife and I have gone there quite often and we always leave satisfied. It is a good family owned and read business. They also have more to offer than just burgers. The rib plate is very filling, especially for the cost.

I love going here for breakfast their burritos are big very fulfilling for a breakfast burrito. Not to pricey at all fairly cheap honestly. They are fast when it comes to service. And ever time I've been inside to eat its a very clean and sanitary restaurant. All a round a great place to eat cheap, good food, great service and very clean. Highly recommend going here whether you're just driving through phelan or just want a great meal.

Good food, good service, reasonably priced fast food that tastes better than most chain burger places. They forgot the avocado on my friends burger but she didn't care because she said the burger was still delicious. The grilled chicken sandwich I ordered was good and huge. You could split it with someone else easily.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the excellent service and quality of food I received this time! It's not always good quality, sometimes the service leaves you feeling pushed out and the food so so. This time I have no complaints. The service was great, the food was good and there wasn't a thing wrong or missing with my order.

I'm impressed. This restaurant has been there for 20 plus years although it hasn't always been Down Town Burgers. As far as I can recall it always had health department violations (especially with the restrooms) and never had better than a B rating. Now it's an A. The new owners have done a great job with the place and I enjoy eating there now. Well done! Thank you.

This place is great. Delicious food at very reasonable prices and a great staff. It's casual fast food dining and does have a drive thru. The steak and eggs are great. One drawback: sometimes slow to bus tables.

Has Downtown Burgers changed? The quality of the food is still great! Only the prices have gone up a little to keep up with inflation and product cost. That's about the just if it! 10/10/2023: Husband & I skipped breakfast and lunch... So opted for "DOWNTOWN" in Phelan for dinner. I had the Chili Verde Burrito and Rick had the Cheeseburger Combo. My meal was not hot when delivered to the table. Bummer...as I'm such a Chili Verde Girl. Rick's burger was good so I was a little disappointed. 9h Well...will try them again another time. Had a Fabulous Lunch! My husband had the wet carne asada burrito with red sauce and I had the BLT. It was DELICIOUS!

Went to Down Town Burgers on SheepCreek so Tina , my wife would not have to cook dinner. I ordered the Chicken Fajitas and Tina had the Chili Verde Plate. As always, our meal was fantastic. We go to Down Town Burgers often and as usual, our meal was delicious.

The food here is pretty good and the prices are fair. They have a family meal deal, which is nice. The seating inside feels a little run down, but it gives it that mom and pop burger joint feel.

Grte coffe, I usually get the breakfast burrito sausage, bacon, add beans and sour cream . Delicious.

We ordered the chicken club and a gyro. Absolutely delicious and generous portions! Gyro had great flavor and heaping slices of meat. Sauce was flavorful also. Chicken club delicious with generous portions as well. Definitely visiting here for a tasty meal again!

Been coming here for years. Super thankful for the amazing staff - they’ve helped me broaden out & give suggestions for new things to try each time! So far our favorite is the chicken bowl - oooh yummm!! You guys are such an asset to our community, thank you!!

Pretty good overall. The fries were perfectly cooked but unseasoned some salt would've been nice. The Double Bacon Burger is pretty freaking perfect, I didn't expect that from this place but big win for the third mom n pops burger joint. The bacon was nice and tender, I'm not a crispy fan. The patties were nice and cooked medium. Great great great.

I order from Downtown at least once a week. The breakfast burritos are good sized and tasty. The French toast is hit or miss, the biscuits and gravy could use a bit more flavor, but you get a lot for your money. This is NOT fast food, but it is really good food.

Great hole in the wall food is good but can be a wait due to location menudo on Sunday always the best but they sell out and when it's gone it's gone if you crave burgers they are pretty good but fries not so much soggy most of the time lately the menudo on Sunday has been very tasteless and not flavorful maybe because it's summer, or new cook will try again and hopefully was a fluke.

Overall good. Had a big order and they missed a few things. Forgot the hash browns and some sauces but that's not the biggest deal. Steak was nice but not medium rare. Really good onion rings. Like I don't understand how they make it so the whole onion doesn't slide-out when you bite the onion ring but it's appreciated. A nice place in dusty ol Phelan

Every food we have ordered had been good. Sizes are decent. I get the zucchini ever time. The vegie burger is better than others. Free refills. The lady at the front counter seems like she would rather be elsewhere although she does her job well. Sorry lady.

The best hand breaded crispy chicken sandwich I have ever had outside of home....(maybe better than home). Service is good, prices seem a bit high, until you receive your food. Must try crispy chicken sandwich! You won't be disappointed.

Every experience I have had with this restraunt as well as their staff has been positive. I love that their menu offers such a wide variety of items to ensure that every individual is satisfied with their choices.

Have ALWAYS enjoyed the food especially when we dine in. There was only one occasion where we ordered breakfast "To-Go" to bring home which was not appealing or tasty as in the past. We now know not to order breakfast "To-Go"...and to only order it when we dine in. Otherwise, the selection of different foods prepared fresh and hot have been excellent dining in.

Ive never dined in here, always thru the drive thru. The food is awesome but it always feels like theyre rushing you through the order and you tend to forget things or they forget to ask for you things like sides, dressing. The food though is the best in that area... Which isnt saying much but still good. If youre in the area and you dont want to drive 30mins for something really good and decent, i recommend this place.

Real food done fast. I’m not a fan of the pastrami sandwich but everything else is fine for fast food that’s more like a home cooked meal. Drive thru or dine in. Glad to have them right here in phelan. Prices are reasonable too. Cheaper than a lot of other places in phelan.

It's a fine place to eat. Love the fact that you can get all day breakfast here. Only reason I give them 4 stars is because I'm pretty sure I've gotten food poisoning from them a couple times (not 100% sure, however the timing fit). Regardless, the ham breakfast sandwich is top notch. Highly recommend 👌 👍

The food overall was excellent. Except that my husband's salmon was a bit dry as a result of being overcooked. The service was very good. The cook made one mistake which was cheerfully and immediately made right once it was brought to their attention. We will definitely be back!

First things first, So far everything that my group of friends has ordered is really good. The people who take your order so far have made zero mistakes. When you open up the bag everything has been spot on. About half of them could be use a personality upgrade. Use the drive through or get your food to go. Place is old. Meaning it's in need of a complete makeover, inside and out.

Always great food, I have been eating at downtown for years and have never been disappointed with the food, but the soda machine on the other hand always taste horrific, glad to see they finally got an upgraded machine, all in all it's a great local family affordable place to eat in or dine out...🙃

Always enjoy our meals from this establishment especially the Salmon Dinner Special. On this date we ordered breakfast. As always, it was good tasting however the toast was to buttered and became a doggy piece of BREAD rather than toast. (I assume for take-out, toast is capable of becoming soggy but also asked for crisp well-done bacon and it was not cooked through like bacon is supposed to be. Otherwise, it was GREAT.

I've eaten here 3 times. Excellent each time. Chili Verde Omelet twice. My coworkers kept bringing food back from Downtown.

French toast is not that great because half the time they do not put any powder sugar on it, so it’s really bland, but most other items are very good. This place makes the food with fresh and real ingredients and has surprisingly lower prices than your average fast food place. I recommend the downtown breakfast burrito, their fried oreos, and the bacon cheeseburger. Overall solid establishment, and worth the price.

They do a very good job here and you won't regret trying this venue out!!! Visited again...4/19/24 Two meals in one visit. Carnitas burrito for dinner and a Downtown Breakfast Burrito for next day Breakfast. Both were very delicious. Today's visit; lunchtime 12/13/23 All menu items are prepared to order, so drive thru times may seem a bit long, but you'll find that it is worth it. Although it was noon, I ordered the Down Town Breakfast Burrito; $9 Eggs, cheese, hash brown potatoes, ham, sausage, bacon, & a light bit of peppers and onions. VERY VERY GOOD!!! It was rather large, close to two pounds! They offer about a half dozen other breakfast burritos sorted by the meat options. Hungry for breakfast??? Many other items available all day! No matter what you choose, I don't believe you could go wrong!!! They have a very extensive menu, and while I usually follow the notion, "A jack of all trades, master of none", they seem to do everything well...a rarity in the foodservice industry, by all means!!! A couple of years back; first visit... Surprisingly excellent charbroiled 1/2# double cheeseburger...extensive menu...my first visit...always try cheeseburger on first visit...if they do that well, I will assume that the other menu items are of equal quality. Only four stars due to their 1/4" freshly sliced tomatoes were a bit under ripe...flesh toned, light pink and VERY firm!! That being said, THE BEST charbroiled burgers in town!!! Very good value for the buck!!! I look forward to trying their other menu items...

This is a mom and pop burger shop in the middle of Phelan. They offer large portions, low prices and a vast menu, but the food is rather mediocre. I had their ABC burger that was overcooked which made the meat tough and flavorless. On the contrary, I had their onion rings and they were perfectly fried, crispy, and the onions were super sweet; just the way onion rings should be. Another family member tried the pastrami sandwich, and liked that the meat was on the leaner side and had no gristle, but they paired it with fries and they were room temperature and kind of soggy. I'm not planning to run back any time soon.

Food is pretty good. A lot of choices on menu. American food such as burgers, fries an onion rings are good. Mexican food on menu is not so good. Prices are ok and dinning room usually clean. Girls at register not so professional or friendly.

I've been here once I got a pastrami but the sandwich was over priced and really small , trying it again today but only burgers and chili fries hope it's better

Up date, sorry to say that there's been a change of hands somehow. Here yesterday and was very disappointed. . The cleanliness and food quality(freshness) is much reduced but the the cost has been rising. Very sorry to remark this as we have been satisfied clients for several years . . . Previous earlier comment; A fastfood Gem in small (Down)Town! We hadn't dined inside (strictly did drive thru) previous to this. . But now plan to be at table in DownTown Brgrs more in future. Fresh Salad(more than generous,& so good I finished it),& Sandwich, my Carnitas burrito, delicious - wide ranging mid-price menu - for fast food, staff so caring & friendly to us-and each other- we're regulars.

The steak is very fatty, the asada burrito is no other way to put but just nasty. I gave it 2 tries and both different times and there was no flavor to beans just nasty their fries need more salt, but other than that the rest of the food is good French toast, breakfast burritos, wings, grilled chicken sandwich is my favorite...

Ordered a club sandwich, was charged for a taquito plate. Gladly overpaid to get it over with. Hokey joint. You bus your own table. There must have been 10 tables of people there plus a drive-thru, which is commendable considering the location.

I put I don’t care for the hamburgers anymore. They really not as good as they used to be their hash-browns. I’ve never cooked well the prices are too high. the pastrami they don’t give you as Pastramis they used to, I have to ask for extra pastrami with a charge.

Had breakfast eggs had over cooked taste. Hashbrowns dry. Coffee not strong. Maybe I'll try something else before I make final decision on the place. For now not highly recommended.if you go there be sure to request the food to be cooked the way you like it.

It's OK. The drive thru is all I can speak of, I have not gone inside. They have a very big menu and of all the times I've gone there I have ordered onion rings, fried zucchini, and French fries. They were cooked to order every time piping hot. So it stands to reason the fried foods on the menu will be a good choice served hot. I HAVE TRIED THE DINNERS and they are pricey but for the convenience of not having to cook it is a decent trade off. It's not as good as homemade and that isn't reflected in the cost, but it's OK. They are fairly quick for serving it up, I have never had to wait very long and the largest order I made was 3 dinners with fries zucchini and onion rings pork ribs chicken sandwich(highly recommend) and steak. 8 to 10 mins and that was with 3 cars in front of me. Considering the options in town which are pizza, KFC, Mc Donald's, burger king. Steak house, and two Mexican foods and a donut shop that serves( I've had better) Chinese food, it's OK. I have no complaints it is what it is.

I ordered the buffalo wings like I always do but tonight they tasted not right. Threw 7of the 8 away. I ordered the pork chops dinner and the fries were soggy due to the steamed veggies I usually get the baked potato but they were out. Pork chops were over cooked which was a shame normally they are delicious.

The people who work here are so nice! The place is run down, dirty and the food is eh. It’s alright, they do have a family meal deal with burgers, fries and a drink.

Went there the other night with my family & went through the drive thru. Upon getting our order we double check to make sure everything was there as we ordered a bit of food. We noticed that there was an item missing. My cousin walked in to let a worker know of the situation. She came out with the order & asking her what happened, she stated that they gave her attitude & kept questioning her. This is very disappointing & I have no plans on returning to this establishment.

Updated 12/28/23. Really like this local spot but have been repeatedly disappointed with the Bacon Breakfast Burrito. If I’m ordering the Bacon burrito guess what I expect to see? There’s a a lot of eggs, hash browns and cheese but it’s called the “Bacon Burrito” so I expect BACON. From four stars I brought it down to 2, because like I said it’s been multiple times not just once or twice. Don’t call it a bacon burrito if it’s not! Grilled chicken salad is great. Burgers are really good.

They got our order wrong in the drive thru. Then had us park and after waiting 15mins my husband went in. They then forgot our drinks. They were busy, but I was still pretty annoyed. The food was okay, but not worth all the trouble. I don't know how long they've been running so maybe they're new and still figuring it all out. Hopefully they get a better system in place so I can enjoy my experience if I ever go back.

Usually have no problems here.Exept when the chubby guy is working the drive thru. He obviously doesn't care about his job or costumers orders everytime something is forgotten just asked him for some yellow peppers and ignored twice 3rd time he says they are in the bag I get home none. And I asked for well done fries nope. When your spending 40 dollars on fast food they should do better.

Charging 3% of each total order amount to their customers is outrageous. The food is mediocre...the prices are more than traditional fast food ( meaning name brand fast food ), and I get to the window this morning and see a sign that if you pay with a card... you get charged 3% of your order total for doing so. That's not because their bank charges them... because it would be a set fee if that were the case. It's for profit, on top of their already more expensive food. If... I decided to go back... I will stop and get cash from the ATM 1st. With all that being said... the breakfast burrito with chorizo was delicious. Maybe a little less tasty because I paid via card. Remember, 3% of " your personal order total... so its different for each customer. Be careful. Take cash if you can.

Pretty disappointed. I like coming to this place because it has delicious food. I ordered a large horchata today and it was spoiled. Please make sure your product is digestible. You guys are running the potential of making people very sick.

The order: I ordered double cheeseburger without onion and strawberry shake “allergic to onion”, it was full of onion, one of the patty was well done and the second patty medium rare “not pink it was red”. Strawberry shake is very good. customer service: when i give them back the burger they didn’t say sorry for the mistake. Worst experience ever, never back again.

Worst Carne asada fries and service ever. Guy taking order spent more time having a conversation with coworker than taking order. Didn't give me asada fries in drive through. Had to go back in and when got home about teaspoon cheese, about teaspoon of sour cream, meat so burned too hard to eat.

Food is a hit or miss. Some days it's great, others it's greasy, undercooked or tossed together. The establishment is always dirty. Whereas the tables may be kept clear, they are always sticky, full of crumbs and the floor to match. The bathrooms are worst. Highly recommend the drive thru over dine in eating. The female staff is always nice, but the males always have a bad attitude! Would rather drive a little further for better food at a better price, and nicer people...

When they actually give you your full order the food is fairly good, but far too often do they either get my order wrong or just straight up not give me items I paid for. Time and time again they don't give you all the food you PAID for, and I shouldn't have to check that they gave me all my items. Done with this place, way too expensive especially when you don't get all the food.

Ordered a dinner for 4, my sandwich looked like this in the box. Thrown together. Ham doesn't even looked cooked, turkey looks like slimy deli meat, I asked for extra crispy bacon didnt get it. Chilli cheese fries are okay and the breakfast burrito was good. Fried zucchini was greasy but okay. But probably wont eat here again. $50 for everything and feels wasted.

The last few times I myself, and or my kid has stopped to get take out on the weekends, in the afternoon have been disappointing. We always get caramel fraps from here. But, lately It's been more of a raspado that wasnt blended right, has no caramel or whip cream in it. This past Saturday we bought a Caramel frappé and this is what I got (picture attached). No Caramel, no whip cream, and not even full. I usto love getting my Caramel Frappe from Downtown but now it makes me want to go back to Starbucks, especially now that they're close.
