Very good food and atmosphere. Our server was very attentive and nice. The atmosphere was relaxing and the music was perfect. The food was delicious and the drinks were just right.
Our recent visit to Aftermath in Phoenix proved to be an exceptionally positive dining experience, exceeding our expectations. This establishment was brought to our attention via a popular social media platform, inspiring a visit that resulted in considerable satisfaction with both the culinary offerings and the service provided. We were particularly drawn to try their signature burger, a recommendation that came highly publicized. Upon sampling it, we can confirm that its reputation is well-deserved; the burger was expertly prepared and unequivocally delicious. Complementing the main course, the accompanying fries were also of excellent quality, crisp and flavorful, striking a perfect balance. The attentiveness and professionalism of our server, whose name we unfortunately did not record, significantly enhanced the overall enjoyment of our meal. Their courteous demeanor and efficient service were noteworthy, contributing to a seamless and pleasant dining occasion. Based on this outstanding experience, we wholeheartedly recommend Aftermath for its superior food quality and exceptional service standards. We are confident that other patrons will find the establishment as gratifying as we did and anticipate a return visit in the near future to explore more of their menu. The establishment has certainly set a high benchmark for dining in Phoenix.
You have to try this place, the service was great, and very good suggestions! The pasta and Mac n cheese are a must! We also tried the market oysters and they were very tasty as well. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!
"It's bigger on the inside!" That was our first thought when we finally stopped in. We drove past this spot every morning, intrigued by a banner announcing some kind of award, but admittedly skeptical about how good a seemingly small location could be. What we discovered was far from a "hole in the wall." This is a surprisingly charming, upscale restaurant that's easy to miss if you're just driving by. It's well worth seeking out for the mouth-watering pasta and perfectly cooked steak. While the brussel sprouts were just okay (we won't hold that against them!), the overall experience was fantastic. And yes, they absolutely have a full bar with fantastic drinks! This spot is perfect for dates, small groups, or drinks with friends. Highly recommend!
Came in to try the “best burger in Phoenix” and I enjoyed every bite! The tater tots were also great (I’d def order again). We also ordered a few cocktails which were great. Staff were friendly and atmosphere was very welcoming. Thank you for a good time and great food, we will be back.
This is a great restaurant. I've heard about this place for quite a while so I finally decided to come see what it was about and I was not disappointed. The service excellent everyone was kind of friendly. I was surprised at the large variety they had for a selection on the menu from burgers to lasagna steak and even some seafood. I ordered the Chili braised short rib with squash purée and it was delicious it was full of flavor even more so the onions didn't even taste like onions but they were delicious. I'm definitely coming back to try some other dishes and I highly recommend giving this place a try.
Great vibes restaurant to hangout with friends or date night. Delicious cocktail with affordable wine list. The staffs were well trained with hospitality mind set. I would recommend you to try short ribs. It was very tender and delicious. Gnocchi carbonara had a great texture, but a bit too salty. For dessert, I would recommend you to try key lime bar. The crust was delicious and complemented very well with the key lime filling.
I waited too long to write this review because I wanted the culinary high of the experience to wear off a little. Aftermath had a special event for Easter, they opened early for brunch, which was very special. (A treat!) After months of not being to get down and enjoy the food, we made a special occasion of it. What was the fuss about? Well, an owner and team that truly understands the flavors and complexity customers are looking for and sometimes find (sometimes not) in Phoenix Arizona. The food was world-class. I can't give the food enough credit with my words. I want to go back, like 100 times. Every single bite was filled with flavor. The choices were creative, and the menu was digestible and not overwhelming. I love going to a place that focuses on doing everything exactly right instead of reading through 20 pages of stuff only to order pot stickers because I can't decide. We tried several things, including the shrimp and grits (wow, best I've ever had, and I've eaten them in their home in the south). This was a suggestion of our server. This may have been special for the brunch menu, but I'm not sure. We ordered a mac and cheese for the table. Wow! Would have hated to miss this. We worked on it for 2 days at home on the leftovers, so it's fantastic. We got the BLT dip sandwich. I loved it! If I come and get something else in the future, I will definitely get this sandwich for takeaway to have for lunch the next day. I loved it that so much. We also ordered the fried chicken and waffles. I'm usually not a fan, but the seasoning on the chicken was unique and fabulous. It's really hard to get good fried chicken around town, this was perfect. It was also served with a maple butter we absolutely loved it. All three of us had bites of each other's. I'm so glad I was able to have a bite of everything. Otherwise, I may have missed the attention to detail on every single dish. *Logistics* I can see that parking may become a little challenging over here. There is parking in front and back. Build in a little extra time if you are coming during a busy time so you don't get frustrated. The restaurant was very clean and is intimate, not huge. I believe there are 4 or 5 outside tables with misters which were open to the restaurant when we dined. We loved this. We could see everything and had fresh air. Maybe next time we come, we will request a booth with our reservation so we can people watch inside. *Conclusion* I just can't get over the flavors. Everything was intense and memorable. I just love a restaurant that obviously cares so much about creating a great experience. Incredible food and staff. There was nothing ordinary about this culinary experience. Aftermath-you are doing it right.
Delicious inspiring dishes, not your standard bar food. Try the brussels sprouts, they're amazing. My chicken thigh pasta was exceptional. My friend's burger was fantastic. Will definitely come again!
First time there, and wow, it was amazing! The food was incredible. We began with the hamachi crudo and the Aftermac. My wife had the Aftermath burger with the Caesar salad, and I devoured the jalapeño burger with an extra patty and tater tots. Definitely try the Texas ketchup. Gigi, our server, was fantastic.
Such a great place! Definitely one of my favorite spots now. The food was really good. I had the "aftermac" which is Mac and cheese and the aftermath burger. Both were great and I'd order again. I also had the Tiki to paradise cocktail, which was a sweeter variety cocktail and I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was chill but the true gem to this place is the outstanding service. The whole staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Also, my food came out extremely quick. The service alone is reason enough to return. I'd recommend this place
Randomly found this place online and so glad we came across it! The burger was just phenomenal and would highly recommend. I got a few margaritas and they were delicious. The vibes were great. I would definitely come here again!
A new local favorite! If you are looking for a date night, get together with friends, or a solid delicious meal by yourself, this is the place. The service was EXCELLENT. Kim served our table and she was on top of it. The rest of the staff was friendly and helpful and you could tell they really care about their customers. Onto the FOOD. One word - PHENOMENAL. If you order any of the meat, expect it to fall off the bone and be as tender as it can be. We started with the special - mussels with a nicely decorated noble bread. The moment I smelled this on the table, I knew it was going to be delightful and it blew me away. We also ordered the steak and short rib and my mouth is still watering with how amazing it tasted. The portions were also more than what I expected, which is great because you are paying for it. The bread pudding dessert was the perfect combination of salty and sweet and am here for it! The cocktails were also good. I loved how they use mid shelf liquors to make their cocktails and the prices were reasonable. This place is priced average against other restaurants in the Biltmore area. I highly recommend this place and will be back very soon!
Came for a date night with my husband for my birthday and was not disappointed; everything was phenomenal! Well definitely be back! Loved the dim lightening and even got to enjoy some happy hour wings, fries, and cocktails until 6pm
Went here at open on Labor Day. Great ambience and was greeted and seated right away. Service was amazing. We ordered the lamb shoulder pasta which is Def one of my new favorite pastas! The burger was so juicy! The cocktail was the yuzu which is similar to a whiskey sour and was delicious. Highly recommend. The only downside is the area in general has tight parking. Just come earlier to give yourself some time to park.
Driven by the place for the past two years, it's located in this cool plaza. Today I had some extra time and decided to stop and have a drink. I was received with a happy hour 4pm to 6pm and went for a old fashion and the aftermath burger with some fries. WOW. One of the best burgers and fries I've had, the old fashion was not sweet enough but the presentation was amazing. After my delicious meal and drink i decided to get the affogato desert which is salted caramel topped with a single shot of expresso. AMAZING.
It was my first time visiting the Aftermath restaurant and I must say our bartender Sarah was 1 of kind. She was very down to earth and knowledgeable of the menu and the best options. She provided 5 start service from the time we were there until the time we left. She deserves a raise if you ask me. If you’re local in the area I would definitely recommend dining in here. My only complaint would be the food portion size. The salmon was bite sized and over priced unfortunately
Even though we did not have reservations for dinner on a busy Saturday evening, we were able to be seated at the bar. I had the Jidori Chicken Thigh and it was delicious! It has date and sweet sausage filling and the paprikish sauce had just the right spice. The beet salad was excellent as well. We also had the pretzel bread pudding and key lime pie for dessert. The bread pudding was a bit blend and more doughy. The key lime bars were good. The service was excellent. The waiters were very friendly and helpful.
Hands down, the best burger in Phoenix. Food is solid and consistent here. The chef has done a great job putting together a beautiful menu. Would visit again and again.
We visited Aftermath on their Grand Opening day and shared a bunch of different dishes. Everything we had was thoughtfully created and super flavorful, truly enjoyed everything! Although it was their grand opening and everyone was still getting used to the service and the crowd, we honestly didn’t wait too long for the food. Can’t wait to go back!
First time visit last night. Amazing service from Paul. Food was excellent. Drinks were awesome. Highly recommend! Our dishes were the rib eye, braised short ribs, and hamburger. Also had the lamb pasta (not shown, but really good).
Looking for a new restaurant to try and this place is in the heart of a trendy food intersection with excellent reviews. I ordered the mushroom risotto with jumbo shrimp and my wife had the braised short rib. Both were very good. Short ribs fell off the bone and the mushroom flavor of the risotto was excellent. Wife loved her craft beer selection. My wine was okay. Personal preferences prevail here. One area for improvement...our table wobbled. When you're eating at a nice place expect steady tables. The server brought over wedges to try and fix it, but gave a weak effort with no luck. So I got down and fixed it. She did offer to give us another table which was the right thing to do. But my wife didn't want to move.. I noticed other tables wobbling too. I'm not a type A person either. Such an easy thing to fix. I hope the management takes this feedback to check them. Worth trying this place for sure.
First time trying this place out we stopped by also found out it on Google rated best burgers in town, the burgers were really good, the drinks were great atmosphere on point.
This place is a real hidden gem. We tried the aftermath oysters, the shrimp, the short rib, and scallops. With the key lime for dessert. Hard to say how we'd rank each of them, as they were all individually excellent. There wasn't anything we disliked on the table and they all showed great balance in flavor. The cocktails were also excellent. We had the spritz, sparkling negroni, and the sangria. All were excellent, but the sparkling negroni being a real favorite. Service was responsive and you could tell the server was excited about the food he was serving.
Plenty of parking in the back. We had an early evening reservation and needed to leave after an hour for a concert. We stayed a little later to not miss out on the pretzel bread pudding with sweet potato ice cream. Really good. We had the chili braised short rib (pic) and jadori chicken thighs. Didn't need a knife for either...fall off bone tender and so flavorful. We added the Mac'n'cheese (very cheesy and creamy) and broccolini ala carte. Service was excellent. We will be back soon. Update: we've been a few times since. Sorry didn't take pics or note the dinner menu items but enjoyed with another couple. Today went for Mother's Day brunch. Not sure they will continue brunch service but among the group we had prime rib, Korean fried chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits relleno, and their version of an upgraded egg mcmuffin - all of us were happy with our choices and service. This is one of our favorite spots.
Stopped by for a happy hour. Pretty decent deal for $10. Single Patty Burger and some fries. Surface was a tentative, temperature. Was nice, atmosphere was clean and pretty, and generally a pleasant experience.
everything was great - the burger is one of the best I’ve had ever. the ny strip was also great & the bar makes a great Negroni. I’d definitely be back
Absolutely lived up to the best burger in the valley!! Phenomenal burger. Paired with great service and a cozy atmosphere.
This was a new and pleasant surprise up in the Biltmore area. Every course was an outstanding example of detail put into every plate. Let's not ignore the 90's under-theme going on here, best way I can describe it..great lighting and a solid soundtrack of nostalgia. We started with the special, Mussels steamed in a tasty brown broth with a smokey bacon and I want to say miso mix. The one thing you begin to realize are the flavors that they pack into every dish, this special begins that experience. Decided on the short rib and was blown away, everything from the tender meat to the side of lentil mix, everything was paired perfectly. Also tried the After'Mac', they had me at Velveeta! IYKYK.This puts it on the comfort list for sure and the jack and muenster make it creamy and another mind blower on its own. There is of course desert, which made the cut as well with the Pretzel Bread Pudding, again a winner. So with great food comes great service as well. They really outdid themselves. We had Mark assist us and it was a welcome experience for someone who knows what good service actually looks like. Cocktails were great, attached with reasonable price as well. Started with a nice Old Fashioned, not too sweet and then followed it up with Baller Sour which again, was well balanced and paired with the food great throughout the night. This is was definitely a great experience to stumble into. Don't waste your time with all the basics in the area. Spend some money on something you will actually impress you for a change.
Get the big easy and ask for it to be made slightly more spicy with some bitters! So good (and I can't usually eat/drink spicy things so trust me it's delicious and not too spicy). The scallops were cooked PERFECTLY, the salmon was grilled and gave it a great flavor, the steak was great, you just really can't go wrong here.
We were pleasantly surprised with this place! We are gluten-free and didn't see much on the menu for us and we're about to leave but then we found out they did in fact have gluten-free buns and a couple more options. We are so glad we stayed! The food Was fantastic as was the service. We look forward to going back
The burger was just as good as it’s hyped up to be. Atmosphere was chill and I loved the music selection. Great service!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Such a great find in Phoenix. We came in for lunch and were impressed by how good everything was — flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfying without being heavy. Service was excellent and the overall vibe was perfect for a relaxed midday meal. Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.
Aftermath Kitchen & Bar nails it with both food and atmosphere. The food was incredible—those French fries are bomb—and the vibe is modern, lively, and inviting. Perfect for date night or a night out with friends.
Oh my GOODNESS this place was such a good find. The happy hour menu is *chefs kiss* amazing and the mocktails and cocktails are both equally delightful. I highly recommend the Aftermac (Mac and cheese), little Caesar (it’s not little at all and was split by 2) and the fries were good but I wish I tried the fried rice! My friend enjoyed her cocktail and Italian wine. The passion fruit pepper mocktail was so good I need to call and ask what’s in it. Experience was lovely, service was great, vibe was cute (dimly lit but can still see a menu clearly and easily) Loved this place!!
Got a to-go order for our first time trying this place. We got the Aftermath Burger, the Jalapeño bacon Burger, key lime bar, and the pretzel bread pudding. We definitely found our new burger spot 💯. The creamy cheese on the Aftermath, and that BACON JAM on the Jalapeño bacon burger ugghhhh it was so savory and delicious. Desserts were also amazing! The bread pudding had a really great flavor and warm spice, and the key lime bar was perfectly tart and sweet. We can't wait to come here again and actually have a sit down meal. Side note, I don't know why other places can't seem to avoid soggy fries and buns in to-go orders, but these guys got it down! Fries were still crispy and delicious, and the burgers OMG they were just so incredible! We've lived a block away for 5 years and can't believe we waited so long to try this place. 100000/10 will return. Special shout out to Adam for the above and beyond service on the desserts.
im usually a pretty big stickler for eating my burger w ketchup / but i had the aftermath burger and ate the whole thing without a damn drop of ketchup on it… cause the flavors that good! steak frites were fireeeeee as well. and pacifico on draft?! will def be back.
Absolutely the best cheeseburger I’ve had ever, hands down. It’s one of those places where I’m already planning a follow up dinner. The atmosphere was moody, nice and quiet. The service is great, they weren’t too busy so we got a lot of attention and were able toget to know our server pretty well. Cocktails were delicious and the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Crossed this place off after driving by each day for work. An ok happy hour 4-6 with a couple bucks off cocktails. The food was good. Nothing wow but was good. The Mac n cheese had Velveeta which seems to undermine the other cheeses. The trout schnitzel was almost dry but was good when eaten with all the components in the dish. Service was great. Cocktails were good. Just a good experience over all.
I’ve wondered about this place every time I drove by it. A couple of friends gave the invite and I was excited to accept. Walking in, I thought how empty it was and it made me uneasy—granted it was a bit before happy hour. Sat at the bar and our bar tender immediately greeted our group. She answered every question we had and recommended drinks. Every drink we ordered was fantastic—not too sweet and just right. I ordered the Charred Brussel Sprouts because I wasn’t really hungry but it ended up being a shareable appetizer or a whole meal; this dish is a large portion and absolutely delicious. Friend ordered the oysters; we thought the great presentation of this dish was going to be false advertisement when it came to flavor (due to past experiences). I was wrong. Oysters tasted fresh and were very good (a tiny dirty but not anything that affected the experience). Have to say, the Mac n’cheese was amazing! What was the best for me, though, out of everything, was Pretzel Bread Pudding…one of the best I’ve ever had. Aside the server who just stood behind us—which was very uncomfortable, our actual bartender was incredibly friendly and attentive. Yes. I will be coming back to try other drinks and items on the menu. Great place to finally visit.
Aftermath was a new trendy restaraunt with a great vibe. I was initially concerned with the parking situation since there were only a few spots in front of the restaraunt. Fear not, there's a big parking lot in the back. The food was good, not amazing. Surprisingly the romaine wedge stood out to us the most; great flavors that mixed very well. Not a big fan of the short rib or the pasta (a little bland). Drinks were great! The server was friendly, fast, and checked on us often.
The food was decent but too expensive for what they give you. Not dissatisfied with the wings and drink. But also, wouldn't come back for them. Had the ladybird drink and valley wings. The drink was good, this would be the only thing I ordered again if I came back.
My friend, Aja, had some time before her flight out of Phoenix, and I've been wanting to visit this restaurant for some time. We rolled in on Wednesday afternoon so the place was sleepy before the dinner rush. The lighting and decor were indicative of upper class dining. We ordered salad, and wings, with beers to wash all this down. Our server was attentive, and quick to deliver (didn't catch her name, though)
UPDATE: Adam, the General Manager, just demonstrated he genuinely cares that his customers have a great experience at the Aftermath by refunding the entire $22 charge for the double cheeseburger (see original complaint below). He has also indicated he spoke with his staff to explain the importance of advising Happy Hour customers when their choices are not part of the Happy Hour values. To show my appreciation, I'm going to change my 1-Star Service rating to a 5-Star Service rating, & I will thank Adam personally on our next Happy Hour visit. This would have been an otherwise lovely Happy Hour with me & my other two friends, if not for the unpleasant surprise I got when I received my portion of the bill. In addition to one of my friend's Mac n Cheese order, she & I decided to split the $10 Happy Hour Cheeseburger. When ordering, our server asked if we wanted the double cheeseburger, or the single, so we opted for the double. I later asked the server to put the burger on my check, but was taken aback to see a $22 charge for the cheeseburger. I didn't expect the charge to remain at $10, but the $12 surcharge for the extra patty seemed excessive. When I asked our server about it, she matter-of-factly said that's the standard charge for a double cheeseburger. Since we were obviously ordering off the Happy Hour menu, I think our server should not have offered us the double cheeseburger option off the standard menu without also advising us of the $12 difference in price. We definitely would have been repeat customers, but not now, after feeling like we were intentionally misguided.
Stopped during happy hour and sat on the patio. Very relaxing spot with plenty of seats at the bar and 📺 TV's for the games. The servers were attentive and my order arrived quickly. I had the aftermath burger and was hesitant because...well, Velveeta cheese is on it. My server said you really don't notice because of all the spices put into daily prep of the burgers. However, once received I didn't particularly enjoy because it seemed salty. My salad was delicious and so was my dining companions. The drinks were pretty and tasty 😋. A quick restroom visit found that to be very pleasant too. Design was somewhat spa/resort like 👍🏾
We spent fathers day 2023 at Aftermath, located off of Bethany Home Rd in Phoenix, AZ. The restaurant was clean and the service was perfect! The food came and my son stated that his noodles where undercooked and our chicken on the salads was over cooked. 🤷♀️ A hit and miss I guess. The food was plated beautifully and our drinks where tasty. Great hang out for a romantic dinner, however for a ‘family night out’ a bit over priced. ☺️
Honest opinion in a nutshell - kinda pricey bar food. It was good, but nothing stand out. To be fair, I ordered bar food style, heavy on apps, but I wanted to know the basics. The burger is a smash burger, I get that, but one of the patties was almost a beef tuile; it was smashed and crisped so much. Lots of bread for such small patties. The fries cooked in beef fat is nice, seemed like maybe the tots might have been as well? Either way, good crispy texture, almost too much though. Have to watch the line between crispy and fried to all get out. Burrata dish was very basic. Slivered almonds from a bag, 1/4’d strawberry, some heirloom tomato… no seasoning to speak of. Not even the burrata was finished with anything. Fresh flavors yes, but sort of flat. Salt, pepper, and some sort of acid would go a long way. Saving grace was that the ‘AfterMac’ was pretty decent and the cocktails were strong. I’d go back to try a pasta, the Brussels, and the fried chicken. Maybe that would have given me a better idea of the chef.
This place should be embarrassed by the food and service provided. We had reservations at 630 for a birthday party and while we were seated promptly, it took the waitress 30 min to take drink orders and an hour and half to take our food order. We didn’t eat dinner till 830/9 and the food was terrible. Brussels sprouts were soggy and cold. Al pastor chicken was burnt, flavorless, and dry. The burger was ok but the “lettuce wrap” instead of a bun was a joke. It was literally 2 pieces of romaine. One on top and one on bottom. We ended up spending $90 for 2 people and were starving when we left. They also charge a 3% fee for using a credit card. Overall a terrible experience and would not come back.
This place has decent food, but exceptionally bad service and long wait times. I used to enjoy eating here but as it's become more popular the food/service has fallen off a cliff. It is abundantly clear a good dining experience isn't important to management.
I waited two hours to get a cold burger with no explanation or apology, and they included 20% automatic gratuity. I will never never eat here again. Kitchens get slow and things happen, but the lack of of care or common courtesy is really unforgivable. Hope they get new management. This place used to be decent.
