What can I say about this traditional family restaurant? The most delicious food we’ve ever had in Bormio, Valtellina. 💯👌🥰🤤 Definitely the best restaurant in town! My husband and I went for lunch and ordered some Taroz for antipasto (made with potatoes, green beans, lots of cheese and butter) and some Pizzocheri - primo piatto (both generous portions). The Taroz was delicious and the Pizzocheri was divine! The overall experience: food, service, atmosphere and location is excellent, 100% recommended. This restaurant is usually open for lunch and dinner, but since it’s a bit far from downtown, I would recommend to call and make a reservation. Do not hesitate to check it out! They have a tasting menu starting at 30 euros. We spent 47€ (antipasto, two Pizzocheri, a liter of house wine, water and two espresso coffee) 😲😊 Undoubtedly, a fantastic Valtellinese experience!
Nice restaurant, nice people and awesome foods
Outstanding ! If you want a traditional and wholesome experience this place is perfect. The food is sourced locally and the service is amazing. A particular favourite of my is the pizzoccheri (you can alter the amount of cheese to your liking)

This was a delicious and special meal we stopped for while driving through the mountains. It has a homey feel and is set in the cutest village. Their pizzacheri was delicious, but I think my favorite was the mushrooms and polenta. SO GOOD.

Nice personnel and very friendly. It was like an amazing home made dinner. My girlfriend and I took "sciat" and "pizzoccheri" and they were the best ones we tasted in Valtellina. The sole thing to be upset is the low number of seats and that you have to book this restaurant first and the hotels later ;) we'll surely come back to take the encore of this dishes! Finally we would like to know the reason of the restaurant name and if it regards the elderly couple on the menu front page. See you soon!
Cozy Osteria that serves traditional dishes and wine. Very easy to reach with a public parking place in the vicinity. Strongly recommend if your are in the neighbourhood.
A wonderful restaurant serving the traditional food for the area in welcoming surroundings with incredibly friendly staff. The menu is short however everything we tasted was delicious. You can choose either to go with a whole tasting menu, or you can order any of the dishes on the tasting menu as individual plates if you don't want to have the whole selection. Whilst the traditional food of this area is quite heavy, the dishes were all very tasty and expertly cooked. The prices are incredibly low for such delicious food in such generous portions, served by such kind people. A wonderful way to spend an evening in the mountains.
My best inn in Bormio, great pizzoccheri and sciatt not only with cheese, you could ask for Sciatt with chocolate. Delicious.
The place is beautiful and service is good. The food was fine but not wow. It is important to order a table ahead of time as it gets busy.
An evergreen that never lets you down, Vecchia Combo serves the real thing, the real food from Valtellina. I am not enough of an expert to know whether their pizzoccheri, sciat, and taroz are the best in the areas, but they were certainly excellent for this palate of mine. Absolutely loved them. It helps the fact that the place was buzzing with local people. The owner and waitress were wearing the local Valtellina outfit, but it didn’t feel gimmicky — it is very much part of their culture.
The food was great!!! I ordered Pizzoccheri, Salsiccie e costine con polenta taragna. Lovely lunch today.
Pros. - most of the food is tasty, and the staff is nice and smiling. Cons. - Flies was eating with us, many of them, they are brave entering to the plates. The last pork dish is not tasty - at all. There is no normal English menu. They compensate us with 2 more free desserts, was okay. It was nice local food experiences, but we will not return here, sorry.
Unfortunately our small family group were dissappointed by the extremely limited menu of 4 meals (1 of which was not being served!). The taster menu appeared to be best value at €25 for 3 set courses (no choice of meals). Very noisy with a loud group of 12 locals arriving just after us. Tables very close to each other and the 'deer stew with polenta' was tasty, but deer was very fatty. Not recommended.
