Branca is praised for its atmosphere, cocktails, and happy hour. The pizza and ricotta appetizer are popular. Some diners found the food inconsistent, with complaints about overcooked pasta and flavorless dishes. Service experiences vary.

Seems like they're going for, and have achieved, an upscale cafe vibe. The ambiance is comfortable and understated. Food is quite good, they have an assortment of wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches and the like. One of my dining companions quite enjoyed the namesake Branca pizza.
The ricotta and toast is to die for. Lovely place, lovely food, good drinks, and we've had good service every time we've been there.
Great location to grab a bite at the bar with some friends or to sit in the table. I really love all the veggie options here. And We settled on the Fungi pizza. The right chew and flavors. Really liked the Monday happy hour options too.
This place literally made me stuff and happy. I was so happy I had to find out the chef’s name which was shy. The guy absolutely crushes it. Fed my whole party of 8 and without a doubt was the best meal we have EVER HAD. Honestly don’t understand how they got such a great chef but I would take advantage while you can with this cook god. Request “shy guy” as I refer him to because it’s the best meal you will have.
The atmosphere is very nice and clean (inside and out), including the Branca cat who we saw outside. Our waitress (Jamie? tall, pretty, thin, blonde girl) was a doll! Her personality made up for the blonde hostess who was very unwelcoming. All the servers & bussers were great! Timing and service was good. The gnocchi and lasagna were fantastic and so was the garlic bread. The mixed drinks were good as well. (We ate dinner on Saturday, August 28th at 7PM).
I was just about passing by Branca when I decided to stop in for a quick lunch. It was about 4 p.m and the kitchen was closed until 5 for dinner preparation, however they were still serving their pizzas. The hostess was soo sweet! And my waiter, Myles, was amazing. He made me an Arnold Palmer type drink; it was delicious! I would also highly recommend the margarita pizza! The restaurant is very clean and the prices are reasonable. Overall the service and food is quite good here. I will definitely eat here again!
Many from scratch Italian specialty items. How to decide? I want them all.
Went with family and had a lovely time. Had many dishes including the four cheese pizza, truffle fries, brussel sprouts, caprese and beans and greens. I mainly ate the fries, sprouts and pizza and highly recommend!
Just had an excellent Sunday dinner with colleagues. We each ordered different dishes (fish, pasta, and pizza) and everyone was full and happy. Service was attentive and the atmosphere was warm and conducive for catching up and having a conversation. Great experience for the price point!
Best dining establishment in Victor. Our server was so sweet. She remembered my grandfather and I (even his wine order) even though the last time we had been there was over two months ago. Ricotta appetizer and their wood-fried pizza was a hit. Food has always been quite enjoyable, and yes it’s slightly pricier than other similar establishments, but I’m guessing very few customers understand the overhead costs, food costs, and labor costs of running a successful restaurant. Ambience is comfortable without being too stiff or formal, but still remains classy. Wine portions are generous and their cocktails are lovely. Had the “Blood Oath” and loved the name and also the flavor profile. Grateful for the quality here and also their kindness.
Beautiful restaurant with kind staff. Food was out of this world. Had the Gnocchi - goat cheese, cranberries and some sort of seafood... Was not expecting it to be THAT good. Drink, Golden Healer, was good, a little too much lemon or lemon peel... But still good!
Had an amaaaazing 50th b-day dinner celebration for my wife with friends. The food was nothing short of amazing...from the apps, to the main course, even dessert...everything was delicious with beautiful presentation. The servers were great and Fran, the GM was incredibly gracious. She was professional, pleasant and made sure the night was special for my wife. Thank you Branca and Fran!!!!
Food was well prepared and my bone-in pork was the perfect temperature. Seasoning was well done on all components. The place is very busy and a bit crowded so make sure to get your reservation.
Excellent service and dinner. Originally made an online reservation for four inside. I called and they were great in changing for a larger party outside. We ordered pizzas, pastas, entrees and appetizers family style. All food was good but the pizzas were universally the favorites - especially the one with the honey
A wonderful place to dine and celebrate special occasions. Fair prices and ABSOLUTELY fantastic entrees and drinks. Highly recommended. I'll definitely return. However, I was disappointed in the cannabis. They shells were perfect but the filling was too bland. Needed more sweetness
Branca Basin hosted a private party for me a week ago and exceeded all of my expectations - what a fabulous place for a special event! I live 300 miles away and worked with the restaurant manager Fran to plan my son’s rehearsal dinner for 48 people. She has excellent communication skills. Everything was perfect - the family style delicious pasta and pizzas, attentive bartenders, and amazing wait staff. The rustically elegant private room was a perfect setting to juxtapose the formal wedding reception dinner a night later. Thank you Branca Basin for everything you did to make the wedding weekend special. I wish I lived in Rochester to frequent you weekly! I am truly grateful.
This place is utterly amazing! The service from Bridget exceeded all expectations for our date night. Will be back again soon!
my table had laura as a server and she was absolutely lovely!! had a few dietary restrictions and she handled it phenomenally. Food was amazing and very cool decor/atmosphere. 10/10 will be returning!
10/10 for Branca! Bridget was amazing as our bartender! The Rigatoni is TOO DIE FOR!
Had amazing service and experience here at Branca tonight! Our bartender Gabriella was incredible! Food was a 10/10 and drinks were a 10/10. The pizza was the best I’ve had in a long time! We felt so cared for by the hostess and other workers here. We will 100% be coming back! Maybe make it a weekly thing. Thanks Branca!
We booked a last-minute birthday dinner last night and were delighted with our experience. The food and drinks were excellent, service was friendly and attentive (but not intrusive). The starters (charred octopus, calamari & watermelon bruscetta with buratta) were terrific, and the homemade pastas were out of this world. Several of us had Mussels, one of the specials, served in a large crock with wonderful tomato broth that was very well seasoned. The other special, scallops in risotto, was also marvelous. Given our group of 8, we were seated at a long banquet with padded seats on one side and chairs on the other. It was comfortable enough for everyone, and the spacing was more than adequate.
We had a surprise birthday dinner party (15 guests) for my wife at Branca's and couldn't be happier with the service, food and ambiance. Fran, Gabriella and Carly were fantastic and the support staff with whom they worked were great. We highly recommend Branca's; we will be visiting them again for smaller group dinners. Enjoy.
Huge scallop fan....usually my preferred item anytime out to dinner....Without a doubt the best scallops I have ever had...I dont write very many reviews...compliments to the cheff...even heard the guy at the next table make the same comments.. so they are consistent too.
10/10 happy hour at the bar. Great service, phenomenal drink options, lots of food. Highly recommend
Absolutely perfect. The atmosphere, to the service, to the food; just cannot say enough about these guys. We were there for a team event and we had such a blast. The food was so good and it's such a welcoming and very nice atmosphere. If you have yet to go, even for a cocktail or two, this is a must stop!!! Thank you guys!
Location is in Bushnell's Basin, across from the canal. Very warm, quaint environment. Jenna was our server at the bar. She was quick, professional and attentive. The margherita pizza was delicious. Love the crust! The octopus appetizer will not disappoint as well as the cocktails.
Traveling up the Erie Canal. Stopped for the night and tried this restaurant which was right near the pier. Did not disappoint. Everything was excellent. A great find and opportunity for travelers to upgrade their dining experience along the waterway.
I recently had my wedding here at the new event space in the front of the restaurant. It was a beautiful night, the food was incredible and the customer service provided was outstanding. Fran helped plan out each detail of the night and could not have made it easier for us. If you are planning a special event I would highly recommend this restaurant! Thank you Branca, for our special night!
Started with the housemate ricotta and calamari. Both did not disappoint. I would say the crostinis for the ricotta should be thinner, by the roasted garlic was an amazing touch. I also enjoyed the butternut squash soup with goat cheese and pepitos. I will definitely put goat cheese in next time I make it at home. I had the scallops, while wife enjoyed the soft shell Crab over risotto. Both dishes were fantastic. I didn't get a while lot of lobster from the broth with the scallops, but overall I really enjoyed it. The zeppolis were hot and piping fresh from the kitchen for dessert. Service was very attentive and friendly.
Overall a good vibe. The food is tasty but could benefit from some more seasoning ... bit of salt greatly improved things. Portions are large. If you aren't starving, one appetizer and one entré will make a filling dinner for two. The pizza easily feeds two with an app. Cioppano aka fish soup aka zappa di pesce...had plentiful fish but undercooked potatoes 🤷♂️ It seemed the staff were overrun with tables. No fault of theirs - they were immediately responsive - but it seemed like they were all running at 110% to cover tables. Drinks were tasty and had a good variety of inspired options. While it isn't a must-go for me, you won't go wrong if you come by for dinner.
Everything about this place is tidy. Clean venue, dark wood atmosphere, pressed clothes. The lunch portions are small yet pricey; plating is deliberate, but some items are served overly compact, while others are extravagantly large. The food is better than average, but not worth the cost to me. Service was polite and prompt but not warm. And, a minor detail: make sure they don't accidentally charge dinner prices during lunch; this happened to me, and I caught it, though I wouldn't attribute it to I'll intent.
First time visit to Branca. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the food & drink, and the staff. Decent bar selection, pizzas were ace. Service speed was leisurely. Parking seemed very limited. Reservations were crucial, I'm glad we made them. We'd be happy to return in the future.
Service was very good, friendly, helpful, well versed in menu items. Atmosphere: The place was full when we arrived, cozy. After we were seated and started to read menu, they dimmed the lights so much, couldn't see the menu AND the type is quite small. Our server proceeded to describe the menu items in detail. She also asked to have the lights turned back up...which happened for about 1 minute and then it was dark again. She used her phones flashlight to light the menu for us so we could read it. Food: We thoroughly enjoyed. Portions were appropriate. We shared a beet salad that was amazing. I had the homemade ravioli in a cream sauce. A nice break from a red sauce. Found it very flavorful. Saved one for my lunch the next day...still enjoyable. Husband had the Branca pizza and found it to be "one of the best I've had." And trust me, it has been his life's mission to taste them all. Overall vey nice experience. Just wish the lighting was better.
came here recently on a friday evening, outdoor patio seating for our table of 4. my biggest gripe was that they do not serve complimentary bread anymore. the server's excuse was that - too many hands touching the bread, which makes NO sense.. so instead, we had to BUY a loaf of the bread - - so no hands touched THAT bread? ? ? Doesn't make sense to me - the bread is amazing and should be included with the meals as before!! anyhow - the food was excellent, good portions, great flavor. great service -- even being outdoors, no issues. def go back there
I ate here last night with my father and the food was absolutely phenomenal! It was really the best steak I had ever had in my life. I highly encourage anyone who is looking for a nice atmosphere that has great food and isn’t too loud, to go here!
I came here last night around 6:50 pm. I would give Branca a 5/5 on a typical night, because I genuinely enjoy the drinks, food and service. The price is pretty fair as well. Last night was no different for us with the food and drinks, but our server was either having a bad day or just didn't like us for some reason. The hostess, busses, and runner were all great. Nathalie however would turn and walk away from our table before we had a chance to even finish our sentences. She would let one of us order and walk away w.o letting the other say anything. When she brought things out she would put it down and walk away making it impossible for us to even ask for anything else (like straws, sauces, and water) She only checked on us 1 time, which is okay typically but we ordered a take out and told her we wanted another drink, the one we tried to order was not available so we asked her to come back when we decided on another choice. She never came back until we asked someone else to grab her at almost closing time. However she was incredibly prompt with the check and grabbing our card.
We enjoyed a nice meal with family at Branca. The appetizers of truffle fries and the ricotta with roasted garlic were delicious! Meals included the lasagne, Scallops, Pappardelle, Caesar salad w/grilled chicken, Bianca pizza and the Gnocchi dinner. The food was very good and portions were generous. I would definitely recommend Branca to friends and family
Consistent everytime. Great happy hour weekday specials
Good staple and local favorite. Italian-esque menu. Always solid. Their deconstructed Lasagna is my favorite, and their veal meatballs are superb - they are an app but I get them with their spaghetti squash. Alos have wood fired pizzas, and sometimes they have grilled octopus or interesting risottos. Happy hour, 4 to 6 weekdays, is a great value for both food and drink, but in the bar area only. It's always packed for Happy Hour, so arrive early, even on a Tuesday.
Stopped in for appetizers n cocktails, the calamari, butternut burrata, and the roasted garlic with homemade ricotta were all super tasty, the white bean dip on the pizza crust - not so much. The specialty cocktails we had were very good too! And our server, Julia, was very friendly! A great experience!
Located in Bushnell's Basin, Branca is probably the best Italian restaurant in that area. They have a decent-sized bar, several hi-tops and booths, as well as an outdoor patio area when the weather permits. Their menu is fairly unique and offer everything from brick-oven pizza to grill octopus. In my experiences there, I've always had great meals. The only real downside is that it is kind of pricey. I understand you get what you pay for, and good ingredients prepared properly comes with a price. I guess it just upsets me a little when you're paying $20+ for a pasta dish, and you end up getting a small portion. When it is homemade pasta, I get the smaller portion size, but when it isn't fresh, I know how much it costs for pasta and water, so having some leftovers for a second meal for lunch the next day should be par for the course. Outside of those little things, I'd recommend going here. Highly recommend the fresh ricotta appetizer!
We sat outside on the patio and ot was beautiful! The service is excellent, our ricotta board was delicious, and my seared lasagna was so flavorful! I didn't give it 5 stars because my husband had the chicken milanese, and the chicken was very dry, and it didn't have enough of the sauce drizzled over it. Other than that it was good.
Plenty of parking. Nice fire pit outdoors. Only moderate noise so I wasn’t too bad. Nice decor. Service was excellent and very prompt. They did screw up on my allergies as they specifically said I’m very allergic to a certain seed and when we order the octopus, it was covered in these seeds. Chefs were not paying attention. They made us a new one. No comp was given. The food overall was very good. Octopus was tender. The ricotta appetizer was good, but not nearly as good as Rocco on Monro Avenue near the city. Rocco’s still have the best homemade ricotta downtown in town. I ordered the duck which was tender but I’m sure it was purchased frozen and my wife had a short ribs which she loved. She also got the vegetable salad dish, which was very good and grilled perfectly. Drinks were on point. A lot of older people. It was disappointing that they put pecorino cheese on their linguine and clams as you’re never supposed to mix cheese with seafood with Italian food. That’s not authentic. If it wasn’t for the cheese, the dish would’ve been perfect. They did a good job overall. I would still recommend it.
When we walked in we saw the hostess on the other side of the Restaraunt just standing there talking to wait staff. Had to kind of waive her down to get seated. Ordered a meal and requested no meat in it. Came with meat in it anyways. Then ordered another $26 pesto gnocchi with no meat and when it came there was barely enough in there to fill up a little girl. On the bright side the pizzas were good which is why I gave 3 and not 2 stars.
My fiance and I visited for dinner and to see if it was a place to consider for our rehearsal dinner. We ate around 5pm, and the place was fairly empty at the time. I really wasn't impressed. The decor was nice enough, matched the atmosphere and what you would expect for a restaurant on the more expensive side. I like to try new things, but the cost makes me very hesitant to want to explore. The menu seemed very mismatched in offerings at the time. I had scallops with caviar, and a creamed leek sort of side. Not sure how to describe. The leeks were decent, probably the better part of the entree, but not nearly enough caviar to influence the flavor and the scallops were cooked correctly but ultimately fairly plain. Not a dish I would order again, not for poor quality so much as a lack of any personality to it. My fiance wasn't thrilled with her meal, but wasn't overly impressed either. The flavor and uniqueness to the food was simply not enough to justify what we paid. Service was good. Server was friendly and quick but not overbearing. Food was timed well, drinks kept full. We tipped well (25% or so). All around certainly not a bad experience, and if you can afford it give it a shot. Ultimately, we won't be going back but don't regret having given it a shot. My personal recommendation would be to narrow the scope of the menu and perfect what you focus on.
I was here with a group of 10. Excellent service and good presentation. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and it came in a bowl. My initial thought was where is the rest of it? In this case, looks were deceiving. I was very full when it was done. Along with a garden salad, a glass of milk and I slept very well. The rest of my party also enjoyed their meal. 3 of them said there meal was just ok. Brick oven in the dining area is a nice feature.
the server was very pleasant, and the dishes were brought out promptly. the lights were dimmed and we had a decent meal. the downsides are a very expensive experience at $40 each without any alcohol, and a quite dirty restaurant. the air registers were filthy, and dead bugs were laying under the window shades. the prosciutto on the char uterus board was like leather, dried out. not likely to come back here with so many other options.
Lemon risotto was meh. Neither the downtown or bushnells basin locations have impressed with drinks from the bar. Mediocre and overpriced at best.
It's decent. I felt like the menu was straining to be vital and trendy, very little looked as though I would feel really satisfied after, each description seemed designed not to make you happy via your sense of taste so much as perhaps your sense of satisfaction at yourself for having chosen this place to eat, like a series of class markers without the core. My girlfriend didn't find these faults as much, but we have very different tastes, to be fair. In the end I just felt it lacked Umami, or classic Italian fullness - essentially things I associate with appetite. The price is high, but an ostensibly semi-fine dining experience demands that anyway. I doubt that this experience is *quite* so fine as to justify the price, but whether I'm alone in this thought or not, I was not so happy tried to make a choice from the menu. The drinks are great, though. Very good taste, very balanced, lots of varied choices on the cocktail menu and clearly made with care. They're one thing that's definitely worth the price.
It was AWESOME! The Hostess was fantastic as was the food!!! UPDATE CHRISTMAS WEEK: As you can see 9 months ago, I raved about this place. Couldn’t say enough about it. Now? HORRIBLE! The menu has changed, prices are out of line, drinks seem watered-down, probably not but… Never again. And these “new” reviews? BS. Friends and families are doing the reviews. No way is anyone giving these high ratings. My new rating is 1 for everything. Waitresses are a 3.. Go somewhere else.
Pizza with maple syrup?! Yuk! Overpriced for the given food quality.
Food was amazing but overpriced. We shared a Bianca pizza and garlic bread and drank water and the check was $35.00. The hot honey on the garlic bread was phenomenal. The server never checked on us and we ran out of water about 1/3 of the way into our meal. The restaurant could use some upkeep. The floor under our booth was greasy and the booth seating was cracked and missing pieces of leather.
Service was very slow. We waited 20 minutes to place our drink orders. The waitress hadn't taken our entree orders by the time we finished the appetizers. The watermelon salad, cheese bread, and lamb ragu were good. The lasagna was overly burnt (not just seared) and flavorless.
The atmosphere is great. Great looking place. Waiter had no personality, very matter of fact, but was attentive to our needs. The Chicken Milanese was very bland. All I could taste was the breading and that had been over cooked and hard. Very disappointed with the main course.
The food was not great. Noodles were overcooked. Sauce was oily. For a higher end place we were kind of disappointed. Service average to slightly above average. The atmosphere sure is nice though. Maybe we caught them on an off night. Also maybe worth mentioning is that we were a party of eight and maybe this is more of a date place for couples, although I can't image why that would change the food quality.
7/30/23: It's in Bushnell's Basin, which is in Perinton. It was overall good. The brick oven pizza 🍕 was too charcoal tasting. The bottom of the pizza had lots of charcoal black sections. I read online that burned 🔥 bits are carcinogenic. I could not eat more than 2 slices, but my friends liked the charcoal taste. The charcoal taste overwhelmed my taste buds. The garlic bread 🍞 with honey 🍯 was incredible tasting! The meatball tasted great. There was a worker in the kitchen sporting a long bushy beard with NO beard mask! Some of the female waitresses wore dresses 👗 & shorts that I thought were unprofessional, too tight, & too high up on their legs 🦵.
Drinks and service is great. The food is lacking attention to detail. The lobster risotto was lacking salt and an acid. It was also overcooked. The pasta carbonara was not a carbonara. It was missing parmigiano and percorino cheeses. Only taste like eggs and pasta water. Someone should really taste the food before it gets plated. The appetizers were great. The cook making the appetizers should be the one making everything really.
We have not been to Branca since the change in ownership (we were unaware of this change) but it does explain our disappointment. I ordered the seafood puttanesca and was excited for mussels, shrimp, and clams. I was starving and I knew that a $30 plate would sate my appetite! When it arrived, I felt like a kid opening socks as a gift on Christmas. The mussels were small, there were 4 small shrimp, and I had to search for any clams. I located a few chopped up pieces of clam (that looked suspiciously like the canned clams I use in a pinch) hidden within the handful of bucatini. My fiancé was equally disappointed by the small portion of gnocchi for $26. We both agreed that at that price point, we could have had dinner (and been full) at a more upscale establishment. With 1 drink each, no appetizers, no dessert, we landed a $77 bill and I had to have chips when I got home. The service was decent and our disappointment certainly does not reflect on them.
Service was extremely slow and it wasn’t as if the restaurant was packed. We were disappointed in the food. One of us got the lasagna and it had no flavor. And then the other two meals were the pizza which didn’t seem cooked on the bottom. We got 2 mixed drinks that were light on the alcohol. Thankfully we had a gift card, otherwise we would have been pretty disappointed to have dropped $100 on mediocre food, drinks and service.
The atmosphere was nice, service was good, but the food was very disappointing. Ordered a Margeherita pizza and the sauce tasted bland like tomato paste out of the can. The Chicken Milanese looked and tasted like chicken patties dropped in a deep frier - not like freshly breaded chicken cutlet. It was tough and dry. It was also covered in cheese and served with greens on the side. Very disappointing. The meat lasagna had no meat and was very unimpressive. We were all excited to eat here, as it gives off the impression of a nice locally operated family restaurant. Best part of the meal was the house salad. The dinner bread was even a let-down, tasted like cheap bread from the supermarket. We left wishing we had just gone to Olive Garden... I hope they resolve the issues with the food. Next time I will probably go to Branca Midtown.
Food is consistently good. Nice drink selection. Can get a little noisy when full but not unreasonably so. Edit: Is this place under new ownership? After making Branca one of our preferred dinner establishments prior to COVID, we returned and it is now horrendous. The food is below Olive Garden quality and the servers seem very unhappy. The recent five star reviews are suspicious. Can no longer recommend.
Upon entering Branca in the basin I was intrigued by the upscale atmosphere and excited to have another fantastic restaurant in the area…. HOWEVER I was mistaken. The food was subpar at best. Our carrots were barely glazed and burnt, pizza undercooked and grease filled, and our shrimp scampi that looked decadent, was flavorless and undercooked. I will not be coming back with my business nor recommend to friends.
So let me start with the staff was wonderful but expect our server I think her name was Nathalie? But who knows since she never introduce herself with us since she was too busy in a room that wasn’t full? It took her 10 mins to come to our table had an attitude when serving us, just cuz we are Asian? Since I overheard her from another table very energetic but coming to our table she was very rude and didn’t even want to hear us. As she asked how was everything my friend was answering and she just walked away. I think you should first hear what your customer is saying before walking away that is just awfully rude in the first place. Also I think she was miserable being there but after I saw her smile at all her other tables, I think she was just targeting us since she never gave us a smile while we ate there. We are all very generous tippers while we eat out but after all I still tipped a little. I do like this restaurant but next time I’ll won’t like her being our server. 😃
I am a huge foodie and have been to most of the restaurants in Rochester. My boyfriend and I wanted to try somewhere different for his 25th birthday yesterday so he chose Branca. We were really excited and liked the atmosphere inside. The downfall was the service. Our waitress Nathalie didn’t give us the time of day. She took awhile to come over and get our drink orders and it was another 10 minute wait for our drinks. Once she dropped off our food she didn’t check on us for the rest of dinner and we waited a long time for our check. I’ve gotten much better service at chain restaurants. The food also didn’t thrill me for the price we paid. The pork chop was dry and the kale tasted horrible. The bread for the ricotta was also way too hard. I ordered the linguine and I did enjoy that. Overall it wasn’t a great experience and I didn’t feel like we were taken care of. Which sucks because it was my boyfriends birthday and we spent a lot of money. Although the atmosphere was nice we will not be returning.
Picked up three medium pizzas, at a cost of $70. All three burned to hell, like charcoal. The edible part was equivalent of three small 8" pizzas. Branca is usually very good so I will write this off as a one-off, which, at $70, will be tough. Personnel very nice, atmosphere always nice.
Visited Friday, April 28 with a reservation for two. Seated next to the live music. Was unable to have a conversation with my wife. We rushed and left. Fantastic drinks, and a nice buratta veggie board appetizer. My lasagna was great the next day. I heard in the car later that the gnocchi was good. Branca used to be a good times destination restaurant for us- we loved the food and atmosphere. I don't know when Branca added live music to the ticket, but, no thanks. Unlikely to return.
Bad food and super slow service. We waited an hour after being seated to received our food (and we didn’t even order apps). They gave us complimentary bread (which was awful) after 20mins of waiting. Our server was nice so I don’t blame her. The wood fired prosciutto pizza had barely any prosciutto or cheese. The dough isn’t great. The chicken Milanese didn’t not taste great. The breading fell apart and the chicken was not seasoned. Pork chop was cold. Not coming again, especially for their unreasonably high prices for such bad quality food. Only good thing is the ambiance.
The chicken filet was flavorless, served at room temperature and was and dry. The truffle fries were like mcdonalds fries with garlic flavored mayonnaise on the side. The atmosphere was nice but for the high price, the food was not great.
Very bad experience. We went there for a birthday celebration and were nothing short of disappointed. our waitress seemed to be put out by doing her job and was not at all personable. She was serviceable and did her job she just didn't seem very happy about it. when asked why an Italian restaurant doesn't serve bread she claimed that it was due to covid-19. Ridiculous. The one thing I wanted was arancini which they we're out of. There were no specialties available.. My boyfriend ordered gnocchi which is just pasta and sauce no meat and was given a child size portion for $26 and of course, no bread. The pizzas were decent but the entire experience was overpriced and under serviced.
Went here last night. The ambiance is good the food is good and drinks is ok. I’m giving this place a 2 star due to service was poor. I ordered a seared gnocchi, it was very salty. I called the waitress and told her what was wrong. She responded with “I guarantee you there is no salt on that”. She argued with me how my food is salty the way it is, I was amused with her answer. Not only she made me feel bad she also telling me how to taste instead of apologizing she argued with me. I will not be coming back to this place again.
Checked menu in advance, on arrival informed menu was a valentine’s menu only, 4 days away. Limited variety, all overpriced. Ordered magherita pizza, came hour & half later, too tough to chew, $18. One of party given wrong dish, had to wait for a redo. Service very slow. Noisy. Chain restaurants have better Italian food. Won’t go back.
I have been to Branca many times and it used to be my favorite Italian restaurant. I grew up in Italy as well as in America and really enjoyed how Branca captured the culture I grew up with. However, I recently visited after driving 2 hours to come and had a terrible time. The staff was unorganized and the whole experience has become so pretentious that it was painful. My salad was so boring and simple that I can easily say that I have had better at an Olive Garden chain restaurant (Not to mention Id at least get a normal serving for a price point under double digits.) My pizza was overcooked on the bottom and raw on the top...with little ingredients. My pasta was inedible. Not to mention that both of us got so sick that we could not sleep or go to work the next day. To top it off, the entire staff kept reiterating that there would be an updated menu starting the next week...ALMOST LIKE THEY NEW THE CURRENT SITUATION WAS TERRIBLE. I have worked in customer service and the food and bev industry for over a decade. I am so dissapointed that i wasted over 100 dollars for a meal that not only made me sick but that was terrible. Even though it is not about the money, I rather have spent a quarter of it for two people at the pizza shop in walking distance of my house. I hope management takes a closer look.
I used to come to this restaurant a lot, and after my experience today I unfortunately will not be back. The waiter was okay, but the wait for our food was ridiculous. They brought my meal out first, and then we proceeded to wait another 20-30 minutes for my husband's burger to come out. I waited to eat, since the purpose of going out to eat, is to dine together. By the time his meal arrived, my salmon was cold. We expressed our frustration and nothing was offered to correct this mistake. We spent $83 with a tip for this lunch experience. There were only three other tables in the restaurant with patrons, so a kitchen back up was not the issue. Food was average and very expensive, $20 Burger and $28 for my salad with salmon. It's hard to justify returning to spend money at an establishment that is ok with this experience for their patrons.
Food is tasteless. Beers served with ridiculous amount of head. No bread. Grated cheese not fresh. Slow. Will not be back.
At lunch with a business colleague a few weeks ago I was served spoiled chicken twice, in two different dishes during the same meal. The chicken reeked of being rotten and never should have left the kitchen. When I asked the server to smell it, she said “she doesn’t smell food.” I was comp’ed for my meal but not for my colleague’s. The proper response should have been to comp the entire meal and send a gift card. Instead, only when I called later that day, they sent me a $50 gift card. This is appalling and insulting. I will not be going back.
The service was very nice and the dinning area is clean. The food was unbelievably overpriced for the small portions that you were given. The pizza was oily, the pasta dishes had minimal flavor and there was no bread provided. I've never written a review before but would feel guilty not letting people know to avoid this restaurant.
Wife and I had a 7PM reservation Tuesday May 20th(wedding anniversary dinner), arrived 6:55PM - host said kitchen was running behind we'd have to wait approx 15min - I said no problem we'll grab a drink at the bar, call us when our table is ready. Ordered drinks at the bar, at approx 7:30PM the host walked by us and said - you had a reservation didn't you, sorry!!! He walked away, never apologized and never asked if we wanted to sit. Needless to say we paid our bar tab and left!!!! Never going back ....
First let me start by saying I never write bad reviews because I owned 2 restaurants, and I know how hard this industry is… and I love Branca but tonight was so disappointing … we reserved 3 high tops for happy hour 2 weeks prior… I called at 4:00 today and was reassured several times by Gabriella that the tables were next to each other … we came in and that was not any where near the case. I talked to the manager and told her I talked to someone (the manger said well she left at 4:00 😳) who assured me this was going to happen. There was never an apology honestly we were treated like we were being rude and annoying. It’s a shame because so many of us in that party frequent Branca often (not during Happy Hour) & we all walked away with such a bad feeling … I get mistakes happen just make some effort to make it right.
I hardly ever leave reviews but this was the worse pasta dish I’ve even had, including homemade. Would definitely not recommend unless you just want some nice wine.
Server was straight faced, flat, and inattentive even when we were 1 of 3 tables at the beginning of the evening. It did not improve and at all even after the ordering of drinks and food. Baffled us and made it a less enjoyable evening.
Had dinner with a party of four, the service was below average and atmosphere was nice. Our salads were served in a reasonable time, the main course came out 40 minutes later after we asked our server to check on our dinners. The salmon was overcooked and did not have all the side items, the $50 scallops consisted of 4 tiny ones and under cooked, the pasta dinner did not have all the ingredients in the meal and was just pasta/pesto/and chicken. The fourth meal was decent. The dining area was not busy and there was no reason for the delay, will not be going back and would not recommend.
