We were looking for a good Mom and Pop type of place and ran across this restaurant. There was plenty of parking, the food , was hot and tasty and the waitress was right on with her service. We both had the Mexican Meatloaf dinner which was very tasty. The free ice cream is a good deal too! Will definitely will return if in the area again!

My family and I were on our way back to Lockhart after leaving Lubbock. The woman at the CEFCO gas station, recommended this restaurant. Stating it has a wide verity and everything actually taste good. They definitely had so many different options to chose from. We ate there for breakfast. This restaurant really delivered. I wish I would have taken a picture of our food. Only I have never wrote a review for any place before. So I didn’t think to do so. But that’s how great the food is! Real home cooking. The service was good. The presentation of the plates were appetizing. They even had free ice cream! Where we sat, you could see the kitchen staff really take pride in what they do. And I would definitely make it a point to come back when we travel through here again.

Awesome little restaurant! So glad we stopped and didn’t drive on by. Food was excellent & they were fast. Our server was very nice…. And there was soft serve ice cream for dessert! Don’t pass on by!

Would rate this a 5 star, except no CDC rules were followed by establishment. Staff wore no face masks or have no gloves on when food was delivered to table. Staff were very kind. Restaurant was very clean. Didn't wait long for ordered items were brought. No smoking was there. Food tasted good. Was traveling through town from another city. Few people were there Low number of people there maybe because home football game was out of town. Had been there about 12 years ago and food still was delicious today.

Thin chips & great (not too spicy) salsa you can fill up on! The food was better than expected- chicken enchiladas with a side of perfectly crisped fries 🍟 & a buffalo chicken sandwich with onion rings. Free ice cream 🍦 for dessert. Amazing price for the quality and quantity of food you get. Desayuno enchilada plate was wonderful. Eggs were cooked perfect. Sweet tea was spot on. We had breakfast. It was fast and very good. The waiter was attentive and friendly. Don't settle for the place with the Golden Arches, choose the down home friendly atmosphere at George's. Oh the price was great and the restroom clean.

My husband and I stopped here for an early dinner because he wanted a sandwich. I was thinking, "A sandwich is a sandwich is a sandwich, right?" Wrong. I ordered the grilled chicken on a bun with fries, and it was truly the best I've had in years. Tender and juicy, not dry or rubbery. Perfect portion, cooked just right. And the fries were good, too. We received excellent service as well. In addition, the atmosphere was nice. Not too crowded or loud, but comfortable. If you have reason to be in this area, I definitely recommend eating here.

I drive truck and appreciate the parking area so I could have a sit down meal. Meghan was my waitress and she was delightful. Absolutely worth her weight in gold. The food was most excellent. I ate dinner last night and brunch today. I loved my hand patted cheeseburger and onion rings for dinner...very good. But the late breakfast of enchiladas and eggs was to die for. The smoky flavor on the refried beans was up notches compared to what you might get in a lot of other places. The eggs were perfect...the salsa, just brought all the flavors together in the most satisfying way. I have driven by here more than a few times. I will never aim for Lubbock again...it will now be George's Restaurant where the food is a labor of love. My dog loved the liver...lol...he is looking at me with doggy smiles. Thanks for making a stranger feel at home.

I love the food and everything else staff good when your in the place . But please pay more attention when people call for there order. If some one get there order and it has stuff that they can not have on it or don't realize it until they take a bite it can cause a problem. If the person want to be mean about it . So please pay attention on the phone.

We almost didn’t eat at George’s because of the poor reviews! However, the receptionist at the desk said it was very good and I’m so glad we went! We had delicious cheeseburgers and salads. Our kids were very pleased with their food as well. The service was excellent! The ice cream machine was an added bonus. I highly recommend George’s restaurant!!!!!

What a good find going through Post, TX! Super clean friendly atmosphere and the food was great. No kidding, the potions are very plentiful, esp breakfast. Waitress was Jill and this sweet lady was super. She had the whole restaurant and you would have thought there were 2 of her. Quick friendly and never seemed rushed. She even chatted a bit with us about Post! Thank you for the great service!

My Mom and I have driven by this place many times on our way from Snyder to Lubbock. We finally decided to stop and give it a try. Best decision we could have made! It was delicious 😋. They have a very large selection of food. Everything from Salads, Barbecue, Mexican, Burgers, Sandwiches, Greek, and all kinds of breakfast plates all day! They are super friendly and it is really clean. Will definitely be going there again!!!

Stopped for brunch at George’s Restaurant in Post. Their menu is a ménage à trois of American comfort, Greek and Mexican delights. We had the sizzling fajitas breakfast that included tender sizzling steak fajitas with sweet caramelized onions and green peppers garnished with two beautiful sunny side up eggs, refried Mexican beans, and crispy hash browns with choice of either corn or flour tortillas. My friend had the tasty Gyros platter that included gyro meat, fresh pita bread, and all the fixings ( the tzatziki sauce was amazing). Also, the service from our server Julie was efficient and prompt. The atmosphere was family oriented and welcoming. It was a busy period with lots of guests coming by from church. The final great touch was complimentary ice cream! I highly recommend!!!

Enormous portions and an ice cream treat with your meal. The grilled catfish was amazing. The pinto beans are cooked with bacon. Awesome diner food! Loved the food. I have to be gluten free so that's why I only had a small taste of my macaroni and cheese and didn't eat the toast that came with my meal. There was also a small garden salad that came out before this! If you walk away hungry, then I don't know what to say...

This place was super busy when we visited on a Saturday evening. Still the service and food was great! They handle crowds easily. The menu has many choices, all American thru Mexican, and for desert they offer an assortment of pies. Portions are generous and flavourful. Soft serve ice cream, chocolate and vanilla offered to everyone free after the meal. This place is a must stop, for a relaxing, casual, meal in Post.

My husband and I both got hamburgers, and they were really good. Big buns, juicy meat, just the right size without being too big. We sat in a booth and it was really peaceful as the restaurant atmosphere was a quiet hum, no loud TV on, just the muffled sound of pots banging in the kitchen and a hint of the soft voices of the women talking as they cooked and cleaned in the back. We stayed close by at The Budget Inn, an old "motor court" motel, and walked over here for dinner during our quick rest stop while driving from Colorado to the Texas Coast.

Our family found George's during a family trip. The menu was so diverse, with Greek, American & Mexican food. We ordered the most delicious hamburgers with fries and onion rings. We ordered the patty melt with fries and a catfish dinner grilled, you can also go fried, mashed potatoes, beans and green beans with a salad. The meal was fantastic. The waitress was working all the tables and not missing a thing. Friendly business and courteous staff. All hard workers.

First time trying Georges upon walking in the lobby we were greeted by a welcoming cinnamon smell. Just gives you a welcoming feeling like when you visit grandma's. We walk into the restaurant and were greeted by a sign that said seat yourself, we chose a table and were quickly greeted by a server who took our drink order. We looked over the full color menu and I chose the Philly cheesesteak with loaded fries. The sandwich was good it had steak seasoned well and tasty, sautéd onions but sadly no peppers. The loaded fries were good very crispy topped with cheese sauce and real bacon crumbles. The only thing I didn't like was Elsa controlling the thermostat. I was shivering and eating but I didn't let that take away from great service and good food. Highly recommend.

If you drive thru Post, TX this is a must stop and eat. They have the best liver and onions I've ever eaten, the rest of the menu is great as well. They only except cash but have an atm inside.

My refried beans were not hot. We had to ask, then wait for our chips and salsa. It was a busy time, so I'm going to give them another chance. The food is normally very good.

Stopped for breakfast on our way through town. Was so glad to see that we weren’t forced to wear a mask as we went in. They were quick and the food was not too bad but I wouldn’t recommend the chicken fried steak. It seemed like a frozen patty with no flavor at all. Other than that everything else was great and the waitress was friendly. 😊😊

We’ve eaten here many times as we’re passing through. The service is good, the breakfast choices are good, reasonable, and tasty. We’re usually finished eating within 45 minutes of arrival. It’s nothing fancy, but always clean. Only criticism is there is an additional charge for using a credit card.

The interior is decorated like a Greek restaurant, but only two items on the menu are Greek food. The rest is comfort-style cuisine. I ordered chicken fried chicken but they were out so I got the chicken finger plate instead. Not a bad swap as the chicken fingers were pretty tasty - lots of crunchy breading which I like, and it was served very hot. This place loses a point for the 4% credit card surcharge - didn't think that was even allowed any more.

The waitress messed up on our order when we told her it was wrong she gave us attitude. She took it back and when they corrected my order it was still wrong. She did not once come by our table to see if we needed more drinks. My friends say their service has never been this bad. Food was amazing tho that's y I'm leaving a 3 stars.

The burger, first of all, was the overall best burger I've ever had. The waitress was excellent, but it took forever to get me my food. atmosphere was good, but a bunch of cowboys came in and started mess up my entire experience

Although the staff was kind and service was great, I was disappointed they did not provide me with a children’s menu for my two kids, and then charged me adult plates for them. I also was stunned they “can’t” do chicken gyro even though they serve grilled chicken dishes. They notion I got here was greedy charges and less of customer satisfaction. But I’m just a passerby, not a local. P.S. They do not honor military discounts and they charge a fee for using a credit card!

I didn’t get to eat my food. After telling them I had food allergies and needed my burger plain all I wanted was meat and bacon NOTHING else. Told them I was allergic to dairy and intended to only eat the meat, I had ordered this to go and got back on the road to discover it was covered in cheese. I was in a hurry so was not able to go back. They did credit my account. I even asked the lady I ordered from and she turned and asked the cook.

It was ok. Nothing to write home about. I got the barbeque special plate. It had 1 small rib and 1 piece of brisket. Rhe rib was not bad except for the 2 pieces of cartilage I got. The brisket started off good but then half of it was gristle and fat. The beans were good potatao salad was decent and the corn on the cob had no flavor and the pickle was so salty I couldn't eat it (I know that's just my tastebuds). My dad got the Turkey dinner he said it was ok. I doubt I would go back. Was just passing through town.

Service was good, we had the chicken strip dinner and the steak finger dinner. Both dinners were weirdly paired with mixed vegetables, pasta with spaghetti sauce and fries. The chicken fingers were obviously prepared from scratch and were excellent. The steak fingers were obviously prepared from frozen and were very disappointing. The kiddie coin machines in the entry were broken and just stole our money. The ice cream machine was making a horrible screeching noise that makes you want to get up and leave or plug your ears.

Food was okay, place was clean, but when I started to pay was told they do not take credit cards. Had to get money from an ATM, which they had handy. No doubt the extra money the ATM cost me went right to the restaurant. The cashier had the nerve to tell me to have a nice evening. Would have been nice to have had some advance notice. Eat there again--no way! By the way, wasn't just me, another customer was having trouble scraping up enough cash from his group.

If you are in a small town with a lot of old people you can expect the food will not be seasoned and that is exactly what you get and George's Restaurant everything tastes like nothing I got the chicken fried steak white gravy mashed potatoes and corn and it tastes exactly like a chocolate and lemon meringue pie...NO FLAVOR OR SEASONING AT ALL! I was generous by giving two stars simply because they allowed me to park my 18-wheeler on the property!

Ordered the chicken fried chicken and it’s the worst we’ve ever had- full of gristle. Couldn’t hardly eat it. The salad was good and service was fair- was never asked how our meal was. They have free ice cream which we were excited for, yet disappointed in as well. More like frozen milk- not creamy. Definitely will not be back.

I won’t eat here again. I stopped in twice, on my way to New Mexico and back. The chicken fried steak was ok. The chopped beef, however, looked like Alpo. Worse, the place is filthy. The bathroom floor had a large spot of what I hope was mud. I passed on the free ice cream because the machine didn’t look clean. And the waitress swept under our table while we were eating. Gross. Finally, we were overcharged at least $10, and when I questioned the bill, they quoted the sales tax rate, but it still didn’t add up. My fault for not persisting. Oh, and they add a surcharge for credit cards, further belying the menu price. I’ll add a star because my son likes it.

On our way to Branson MO we stopped here to eat. First off, the staff was excellent, they were generous with the coffee refills and my cup never got empty! Now that is something you just don't see anymore. I ordered my all time favorite meal, of Biscuits and Gravy and while I ate everything on the plate, it was only due to the Gravy being absolutely good, but canned, ready Biscuits just didn't taste right at all. The two sausage patties I believe were prepackaged, dry and not so good. BUT!!! It only cost 6.99 plus the coffee I ordered with it. Now let's talk about their coffee. I drink my coffee black and so if you like to add creamer and sugar, you might n o t notice that bad tasting water that was used. I think their coffee was fine, but they need to add a filter to their water, because that was all that was wrong with it. Because I drank it black, I could taste the water. All in all it wasn't a horrible experience!

Worst experience here. Not sure if the heater was broke but it was wayyyyyyy to cold inside to enjoy anything. The waitress was not friendly. We ordered chicken fried chicken dinner never got our salads was checked on once and the food was horrible! I asked for milk or half n half with my coffee and the waitress was rude about it. She took so long to bring the milk back that my coffee was cold. Worst $36 I’ve spent! Go to stripes or McDonald’s. Not happy to leave a bad review as we have gone into George’s a lot but unfortunately if you not getting good service then it’s just not worth the extra.

We stopped here on our way back home from vacation and the waitress was so rude that we only stayed 2 minutes. We did have a large party and when we asked if they could accommodate us to seat us all together, the waitress said she didn’t want us to move the tables. When we asked if she could somehow move around the tables so that we could sit together as a family she rudely replied that she didn’t want to. We asked if that meant the only way we could eat is to eat separately and she again was very rude and walked off saying “you don’t need to be so rude”. I’m appalled that a staff member would tell a customer that. We ended up leaving immediately after that worried that it would only get worse. As we were leaving we saw the waitress talking loudly about us at the front. We were excited for the food but the customer service couldn’t have been worse. Also, this place is cash and check only. I’m only leaving this review so that other people driving through won’t have to go through what we did.

Girls are always rude when answering the phone to call in a order. The order is never right and for the amount of food you get, isn't worth the price you have to pay. This place used to be good....not anymore.

Waitress was quick to take our lunch order, and the food arrived fairly quick. All went downhill from there. Never offered tea refill. When you have to ask more than twice for a coffee refill you are receiving VERY POOR customer service. Even when paying the tab the same waitress acted like it was an inconvenience. We will never eat at this place again.

Needs seasoning and wasn't cooked right. If you're gonna charge as much as y'all do it needs to taste good not just be edible. And for the love of GOD toast the bread longer and STOP putting it on top of the veggies. It makes it soggy.

Looked like a really cute place to try for lunch, as soon as my family walked in however we were never greeted or accommodated for our party of 9. A woman with short hair made us feel it was our fault we had a large party and wanted to split us all up between 2 tables. We ended up leaving in the end after the woman called us rude for asking her to help us find a table to accommodate our family lunch. Never going back and hope they either fix their customer service or let that woman go!

Waitress brought Dr pepper after ordering coke, then when taking out food order we got out food in a timely manner but she forgot the onion rings I ordered with my burger. About that time they got busy and forgot my onion rings and my mother's pickles. I waited until I had 2 bites left on my burger and asked for our remaining food. She told me that they got busy. I had already been waiting before they got busy. When I got the onion rings the were cold. Ugh. Sat there for about an hours and a half visiting and watched 2 tables walk out because apparently she forgot them too. Not to mention the booty shorts she was wearing, sorry but I don't find that very appetizing. Sure it may help with tips. Not impressed at all! Her attitude sucked and I'm sure I'm not the only complaint today!!!!

Ordered 1lb brisket, so dry it had to be completely covered in BBQ sause to eat. After picking through 1/2 of the plate, I gave up ... just not worth it.

From outward appearances this looked like a good place to eat. It looked like everyone in there had already been served when we placed our order. Things went down hill from there. The waitress was rude when asked for a coffee refill since she never asked if we needed refills on drinks. When waiting and still no refill, she was asked again. Very rude. Again rude when asked for the bill. I could understand if they had been busy, but they weren’t. The waitress was the only one of the staff not appropriately dressed to meet the public. We will never stop at this restaurant again during our travels.

Couldn’t tell you if the food is still good because the service was SO bad we left before even ordering! Our waitress was rude and very sassy and argumentative and it was over three glasses of tea! Won’t be back and that’s too bad because we eat there often! Some people were not meant to work in the public!

Edit: literally not going back after this like at all, there is a woman here that doesn't listen when you order. Which not a problem if tried reading the order back or confirming AT. ALL. Never asked if I wanted a receipt and boy I wish I got one. Only started going again because I thought she quit/got fired. Truly get rid of that person. Make sure you check everything before you leave. I've had everything from drinks being wrong to stuff just missing. If there was another option I wouldn't even come here. Go to Lubbock if want to eat somewhere good.

I'm so frustrated. Ordered a hamburger and asked for everything on the side. Server said "so you want the vegetables on the side." I corrected her and said "no, I want EVERYTHING on the side and I want to put it together myself." They proceeded to bring me a "hamburger" on burnt toast with vegetables on the side. She set it down and walked away before I could tell her something and didn't check in for a long time. I went outside for a minute and came back... my friends had told her my food was wrong. Instead of trying to fix it, she and other staff stood in the middle of the restaurant talking about what I had ordered; but nobody ever came and talked to me about it and they never attempted to make it right. When leaving, they charged me the full price. I set my card down angrily and she was like that was rude and then someone behind her said yeah that was rude... then she literally threw my card at me and continued to make rude comments! NOBODY SHOULD EVER BE TREATED LIKE THAT! I was angry and did set my card down roughly but I didn't throw anything at anyone.

From the outward appearance and interior décor This presents as a Greek restaurant.. However, there is only heroes on the menu One singular Greek item. On the face of the menu there is pictures of Greece and even historical reference I did not finish reading it but I'm assuming it's some kind of family story of how they ended up in post Texas. The hero was served as sliced dried meat With Mexican rice. A side plate contained Pita bread Tajiki sauce and fresh lice onions and tomatoes. The hero meat seriously looked like it had been freeze dried from 1999 and the side of rice was Mexican rice? The Tajiki sauceat Tajiki sauce tasted much like something you would buy at Costco or a grocery store definitely not made there by the supposed Greek immigrants in Texas...... The whole presentation was terrible and and sophomoric.... I had the Burger which was decent with Loaded tater tots Which meant frozen tater tots fried and covered with cheap cheap food coloring Laden fake cheese sauce...... Think fairground cheese lowest common denominator for sure... My son got the stake which comprised of a fatty thin piece of meat cooked well done with the side of cancorn and an ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes he said it was edible but nothing more Once again the presentation of this dish looked as if it could have been a hungry man frozen meal. The side salads We're iceberg lettuce with a spattering of carrot slivers and purple cabbage slivers topped deliberately with shredded cheese Also looked so childish and unappealing.... This restaurant is truly terrible the highlight was the tea which was delicious and our waitress was kind but honestly we should have left because when we asked her if she had any recommendations she couldn't give us any...... It seems even the staff won't eat here
