Had a spontaneous dinner here and left completely satisfied. The tapas-style menu was fun to explore — we tried five small plates and each one was better than the last. My favorite was the grilled halloumi with honey and pistachios. The drinks were creative and well-mixed, and the staff made excellent suggestions. A perfect place to enjoy a relaxing evening out.
Our new favorite spot! I called in an order for pickup around 10am for me and my coworker today. First - The lady who answered the phone was beyond sweet taking our order and wrote everything down perfect. I had a very specific way I wanted my burger. Second - coworker went a picked the food up. Service was super pleasant she said. Third - The food! Hands down the best burger I've had in awhile! Tasted like it came straight from the BBQ in the backyard with perfect seasoning! She hooked it up too. Gave me all the fixing on the side including a large pickle and some very delicious fries that were seasoned, crunchy, and the meal was downright delicious. My coworkers French dip was top tier too she says. All and all. I highly reccomend and I think we found our new weekend lunch spot for our Sunday shifts!
This was the first time I've been to Franco's and the breakfast was excellent. Portions were enough to stuff us
Excellent food & service!! We would definitely go to Franco's again.
My favorite breakfast spot in Poway. I recommend the frittata with green chilie.
The food is good, except for the pancakes, they were not soft, but I am really picky. I had breakfast in other places and they also were a little hard, it kinda felt like plastic. The price is great, and the servings are good size, I will definitely eat here again. The service was good also.
The food and the service we're excellent. I live hours away and I guarantee you that I will be back and I will bring family and friends. I want to thank our friends, Gene and Nikki Goldman for inviting us there to breakfast
Pretty great little breakfast spot. Generous portions and tasty food. I recommend it!
First time here, greeted by friendly staff. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and extended to our needs without us having to ask. They were all so happy at work which is grate to see and the joy really rubs off in the food. Absolutely delightful dishes with abundant serving sizes and the flavor OMG. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Thank you for your amazing food and service 🙏🏻
Good/Generous portions. Very nice mocha muffin. Great frittata and omelette, filled with a lot of ingredients. French fries and hash browns are great, although a bit under-seasoned -- just add your own salt. Very pleasantly surprised by everything. Will come back again
My family and I , husband says amazing flavor my daughter said deliciousness. I say it’s a beautiful unique place waiter was welcoming and easy going. I suffer from social anxiety and I was able to enjoy myself a lot. Food Portion is a plus 🥰
We were looking for a breakfast place nearby and found this place. The storefront is pretty small so we never saw this restaurant around before. The interior is very old fashioned. Their foods are kind of traditional American style brunch. I ordered 3 sides which are scrambled egg, pancakes and hash browns. All of them are very delicious. Especially the pancakes are so fluffy and airy, as well as buttery. I highly recommend. My husband had a pastrami sandwich with big seasoned fries. He really enjoyed it. The service here is quick and friendly. I recommend this place to the family who wants to bring kids or parents here for a nice breakfast meal.
Franco’s was a good surprise! My boyfriend and I stopped in. He ordered the chicken fried steak, eggs, home fries and biscuit and gravy. I ordered the corned beef hash, eggs, home fries and pancake. We both really enjoyed the food! The home fries were yummy! The gravy was delicious! The pancake was sumptuous! I recommend Franco’s.
Ordered Godzilla, Big Dude, and a Famous burger with seasoned fries. The food did not disappoint, the fries were well seasoned and the burgers were a good size for the price listed. Good job keep up the good work you guys the food was delicious 👌🥰
We visited this place after hiking, and although it was packed before we arrived, the staff's speediness meant we didn't have to wait long in line. The food was great, the staff was friendly, and the cleanliness of the place made our experience enjoyable, so we will definitely go back for breakfast.
Friendly, considerate staff. Good menu. Good food. Good value for the dollar. I'm giving 5 stars. My only gripe is that the dining chairs aren't comfortable. Other than that, a very good experience. I highly recommend Franco's. I'll definitely be back to further explore their menu.
Was driving by and saw this place has a great outside eating area so I turned around and came in for blunch. It was breakfast time, but I don't eat eggs and they were very accommodating and let me order a Greek salad. It was amazing and huge! The staff was friendly and everyone was super careful with masks and all the social distance requirements. I love their coffee mugs and wish I'd bought one.
Great place for breakfast. Their pancakes are very good and very filling. I also like the french fries that come with a lot of stuff. They could have better syrup for the pancakes though. The service was very good.
The waffles are amazing. My wife loved the omelette and the French toast. Would definitely recommend! Update: 1/17/25 Peyton is the sweetest server! Ask for her if she’s available!

REALLY REALLY GOOD HAMBURGER!!! Unlike over-cooked and greasy fast food, this burger has taste and flavor. (Although ordered as Medium Rare, it came as Medium; see photo.) The point is that even as a burger cooked Medium IT TASTED REALLY GOOD!!! The other sandwich was a Pastrami with Double Meat (see photo). This Pastrami Sandwich with double meat was REALLY REALLY REALLY GOOD!!! Getting the double meat crossed the threshold to delicious. I previously had the regular serving of pastrami and was moderately satisfied; but the double meat made a huge difference that I’ll be returning for frequently. Both dishes are very highly recommended.

Franco's Flapjack Family Restaurant is my go-to local diner for breakfast food. Great portions, great service, and delicious food. Franco's does classic breakfast food better than just about anyone - many breakfast/brunch places try to be different and it doesn't always hit the spot. Franco's does all the right stuff and does it very well.
Good food, good service, a bit expensive, but big servings
Portions were decent. I would have enjoyed the meal completely but my hash browns were served a little too moist and saturated. I ordered the 'Bacon Omelette" and was very pleased with it as well as the wheat toast it accompanied. The service was pretty average. Nothing exceptional was noted. The location wasn't too hard to find but travelling from north to south there is sort of a tricky u-turn to be aware of. The environment and atmosphere was clean and relaxing. No excessive noise or interruptions made it an easy family breakfast. Will definitely consider returning and suggest this location to others.
This is a great place to get breakfast. Service is very friendly. The atmosphere is fairly basic diner-like. Food is quite good and huge portions for fair price. Excellent pancakes, huge omelettes, great biscuits and gravy. Loved the chicken-fried steak. Every combo comes with 3 eggs cooked just how you like them. Not overcooked. This is a nice little find, tucked away. Price: each option for breakfast was about $13 -16. Coffee for $3.95 comes in huge mugs. Solid 4.5.
Very large portions and good tasting food. I got the Special Eggs Benedict and it came drowned in Hollandaise which I liked, but some people might disagree. The service was alright, not super friendly but not too bad. The place could definitely be made to feel friendlier; right now it feels like a bit like a cheap diner, even though the food would make you think otherwise.
Nice place. Staff was very welcoming, friendly, and eager to please. Only fault I found was the pancakes were a little heavy. We prefer a lighter cake. Prices are good and so was the coffee, sausages, hash and the rest of the meal.
Franco's is a great spot for breakfast dishes and the service is consistently excellent! Bailey is the best! Coffee cups are always fun to see the whimsical messages! Prices are about par for the current costs in other places! Check it out!
Monday morning about 9:00 AM more staff than customers. Huge cup for coffee. Sausage Gravy was a bit light on the sausage for the country Benedict. Nicely done crispy hash browns.
Can’t believe this was the first time I’ve been to this place! My hair lady is in this plaza but Franco’s was always closed, their hours are 7-2. Indoor dining has limited seating. There’s outdoor dining in the parking lot in front under the tent and they have a small patio on the side. I brought my dog so we sat under the tent. We got Sausage and Eggs under the “Classics” which includes hash browns, home fries, or fruit. Toast, biscuit, bagel, or homemade muffins. The sausage can be links or patties, we got links (3). Also got Country Bene under “Benedict’s”. Include choice of potatoes or fruit. It had three poached eggs, two sausage patties with homemade gravy. Food here was amazing. My only complaint would be the description/definition of their fries. Or at least train the servers to explain correctly. The “Classics” include choice of “home fries” which are diced potatoes. While the “Benedict” offer “potatoes” which are also diced potatoes! I wanted the steak fries and asked if those were home fries. She said yes. I kept asking and wasn’t sure and was about to show photos from Yelp but she was quick to say, I’ll bring it out and if you don’t like it, we can change it. Well, it wasn’t what I wanted and I showed her the pictures. She said oh those are called “French fries” that come with the burgers. To me, they look like potato wedges. So they have home fries/potatoes (diced potatoes), French fries (steak fries/potato wedges), and hash browns. I would rate 5 stars but the explanation of the fries knocked it down a star to 4.

Food was so good here! I had a green omelet with some salsa, fruit, and wheat toast. Had to take half home because they give very Large portions. Parking is easy. Coffee is really good! Prices are a little high for breakfast. I wish restaurants would cut portions and lower prices.

We stumbled upon this place when we were looking for a restaurant to have breakfast while our car was being serviced down the street. The place looked a bit outdated and empty when we arrived but it soon filled up with people around 10am on a weekday. There were a lot of servers working. The waitress serving our table was very nice and our food came quickly. The full stack pancake order came with the huge plate sized fluffy pancakes.
Nice Service, But Food Fell Short I stopped by this little mom-and-pop spot after reading a few good reviews and wanted to try something new. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite hit the mark. For a $61 tab, I expected a bit more in terms of flavor and freshness. The portions were solid, but the food itself tasted pretty average. The hash browns felt like frozen ones you’d toss on a skillet, and the $8.95 “freshly squeezed” OJ didn’t taste fresh at all—definitely not worth the price, and I couldn’t finish it. Service was great, which I appreciate. But overall, the meal lacked that homemade touch I was hoping for. For what I paid, I probably would’ve had a better food experience at Broken Yolk.
2.5 out of 5. Everything was just okay. I got take out, and everything was a mess when I checked it out before I started the car up. The orange juice was 5 out of 5, everything else was a 2.5. If you get French toast, just get the normal one. Not the stuffed one. The stuffed French toast tasted like it was raw in the middle or soggy even. The burger was supposed to be medium, but it was well done.
I had a good omelette, hashbrowns and waffle at Flapjack Family Restaurant. Portion size was large enough to share. The fresh squeezed orange juice was really good. I sat outside. The server was attentive.

Saturday Brunch Service was slow. Never got a refill asked 3 times! We sat for 15 plus minutes after eating before getting a check! Muffins over cooked. Salad was so watery. Burgers under seasoned. The pancakes might be the best thing we ordered. The waffles and chicken dry. Pretty bummed because I know the alpine was is great!
Do not order the chicken and waffles! I almost choked. There were bones throughout and hard pieces. I was able to eat one piece, but just left the other because of the disgust. The waffle was ok. Overpriced food for what was ordered. Breakfast Republic and Original Pancake House is so much better and more reasonable prices. I gave this place a chance to try something different. Upon sitting down, I could see the table wasn’t even wiped after the last customers. I had to ask someone to clean it because it was sticky and had food left on it after I sat down and placed my hands on it. The waitress was nice, but didn’t ask how the food is or how everything was before bringing the check. I don’t leave a lot of reviews, but in this case and my first experience being so bad, I had to. Very disappointed. Even the utensils were bare minimum. Very thin and flimsy and could hardly cut the boney, low quality chicken on top of my waffle. Reminded me of the chow hall back in the military. Overpriced and low quality experience.
Way too expensive! $27 for two pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon and a soda. Nothing special about the food but with tip, my breakfast was more than $30. I've had much better did for less.

I'd give this place a 0 if I could. We went there for breakfast 2 weeks ago ..... The food was tasteless and dry. I could use a chainsaw to cut my pancakes. However, the ONLY PEOPLE WORKING WE'RE THE BUSBoys AND KITCHEN STAFF...... Every single waitress just stood around talking. And loud enough so everyone can hear their convos. It was painful to watch all these ladies stand around while the back house staff did every single piece of work. She never once came to ask how our food was, anything..... we had to grab a busboy to help with extra napkins etc. a few times. And even told him they should be getting all the tips cause they're the only ones actually doing anything. I'd rather eat at a Denny's or waffle House. Or anywhere for that matter. And I hope they share those tips with the back of house staff.
Ive given this place chance after chance. THIS FOOD IS HORRIBLE. All of it tastes frozen. I thought “how could you mess up home fries?” I would applaud them for doing the impossible and somehow making home fries taste like pig food. This place never fails to dissapoint me. It feels like im eating dog food. Also WHAT KIND OF BUTTER IS THIS. How does a pancake get dissolved by butter. There biscuit is horrible, it tastes like soggy bread in the shape of a biscuit, there pancakes are spongy, eggs are tastless, sausage is like rubber. No apple juice should be $8, you dont even get that much. I cant understand how this place is still open, only old white people go here. Maybe this is similar to the war rations or great depression food they ate. The room with all the couches stinks and the table is always sticky. I could go on forever about terrible things about this place, but at least the people are nice. But I’m never going back ever again and i warn all of you to stay away from this forbidden place.
I normally love this restaurant. But today i received a horrible breakfast with egg shells in it. They only would give me money back or new eggs not the whole meal. I will never return or recommend the place again. Lost very loyal customer.
