Singing: mashallah (3x) because this place is my go-to. The crew that works there feeds and takes care of my family. Please get the zeresk polo (rice, barberries saffron) if you like tang. Get the sabzi gormeh with the rice, and get the LARGE container. You can easily share this with 2 other adults, but if you love gormeh Sabzi, never ever share. Order the armenian pizza (lahmahjoun). If you’re taking it to go, order about 10. You can roll them up and freeze them. Go to the grocery store next door and buy some cilantro, parsley and dill. Go home rinse the herbs well. Toast the pizza until edges are browned. Add the herbs in the middle, lemon juice and roll it up. DELICIOUS Lastly, if you dine in, get some Persian chai. It’s included with your meal.
I want to give a big shout out to Tony at the grill. I needed to pick up the food early to set up a faculty and staff luncheon at my kids school and Tony went above and beyond by being there early to prepare the food. I can’t thank Tony and the entire staff enough. The faculty and staff at the school were so happy with the food!
Best chicken wrap in San Diego!!! Actually, everything is great and it’s fun to watch all of the hustle and bustle behind the counter. These guys are busy making delicious grilled food and breads. Also have to mention their delicious hot sauces and garlic sauce. They are on top of the details!
Visited them again today and tried something other than my favorite lamb shank dish. I had a great recommendation from George who was new (actually his first day), his favorite was chicken and beef kabobs platter. So I ordered that, in addition, I ordered hummus and pita and 1 meet/1 veggies Mediterranean pizza. He definitely went above and beyond to make our experience amazing. Malva who was training him also did a spectacular job. The food here always hits the spot! Thanks George & Malva! Sending positive Persian & Mediterranean cuisine vibes
Always delicious food whenever we come to eat here.We ordered chicken and beef kebab, and it never disappoints us.Service is okay, nothing special. Atmosphere is all right. Definitely go back for more delicious food.
Amazing food. We prefer to pickup rather than dine in since we have little kids, but they have tables for people to sit at too. Lots of good produce and bakery items. Bread is amazing
My husband and I love this place. The food there is always so delicious! Not one bad experience since we have been coming here the last 4 years. The staff is personable, hardworking, and caring. My personal favorite is the beef shish kabob plate and amazing garlic paste. My husband's favorite is the gyro plate.
Consistent top quality Middle eastern / mediterranean deliciousness!! .. You get a bunch of food, but all of it is so good.. especially when you consider the pricing. I have not seen one bad plate of food and not one bad experience. Employees have been very kind and not robotic. Much love to that place because the chefs have kept the good food coming consistently, which is a very hard thing to do these days. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone that loves good food. صحتين! 😋
The flavors you will meet in this place are incredible. The grill is located adjacent to the market. They have a huge menu & selections of meat or vegetarian meals. We had Tepsi which is like a ratatouille with delicious tomato sauce, SO GOOD! We also had salmon on a Greek salad, a cucumber side salad & roasted chicken plate. Everything was shareable & delicious. Great breads that are freshly made on site.
I wish this place was closer to my house! I actually drive from downtown just to enjoy their food. Since it's located inside the North Park Produce market, I often stop by for a quick bite while doing my grocery shopping. I love how convenient it is, with plenty of parking available. The complimentary tea is a plus. Last time, I brought my friends along and ordered the family tray—it was a huge hit! They said it’s enough for 3-5 people but the portion was more than enough to satisfy all seven of us.
We love this restaurant and go here often for lunch and order their family meals for our party dinners. There is usually a short line at lunch and dinner. The portions are generous and their kabobs are juicy. There is free tea and water for customers. The market is attached and that's a great place to shop for fresh produce, deli meats, feta and olives, spices, and meats.
Generous delicious portions and a complete meal. Both plates came with a veggie salad. They'll give you a buzzer so you can walk around the connected grocery store.
Drop what you’re doing and go here !!! run here fly here the private jet and fuel cost is worth it !!! This is the best chicken kabob I have ever had in the world and I’ve been to the Middle East, my god it’s chicken breast that’s juicy delicious and never dry. I tell everyone I meet if you want good Mediterranean cuisine make the drive. Halal meat greatly improves health and wellbeing!
Great food! Lamb shank and beef shawarma are go to.
Very fresh and really tasty! Portion sizes are large enough to share. Each combo is about $13. They make Delicious bread right there fresh. I also pick up an extra hummus and tabouli. I like to get it Togo, they do have seating but it is kinda like a cafeteria but works if you are there to eat and go.
I love reviewing places in Poway because it’s a small town with really good restaurants that often gets overlooked and because I’ve lived here over +30 years so I’ll tell you how it is. North Park Produce Bakery is no different. Who would have thought that this restaurant next door to the supermarket is considered to be one of the best Persian restaurant in San Diego according to my Persian neighbor and it was my first time!?! It has a bakery and they make their own bread. It’s made fresh daily. You can order a La cart and combo meals. As well as hot foods like stews behind the glass. You order and pay first. They have a big dining room. There used to be outdoor patio seating in the parking lot spaces but they tore that down so it’s only indoor. I wished they kept the outdoor patio so that it could be pet friendly. I came here twice in one week. The first time was during Persian New Year and we ordered family meal shared among a group of 7 friends. Got the 3-5 person meal ($59.99) which came with an entire tray of saffron rice, a tray of lavash, a tray of 5 grilled tomatoes, 3 beef kabob, 2 chicken kabob, and salad. Also got a plate of Adas Polo (rice with dates, lentils and raisins), chicken and egg plant, Ash Reshteh stew (vegetable noodle soup with beans and herbs), Fesenjan stew (chicken, pomegranate molasses and walnut) $15.99, Ghormeh stew (beef, vegetables, dried limes, red kidney beans) $13.99. All the dishes were flavorful and tasty. We got a plate of basal and raw onions. You use that to make a wrap out of lavash with the meat and rice as fillings. It was so good that I came back again and got my mom #20 chicken and ground beef combo ($17.99). It was so much food! An entire box of saffron rice, topped with one beef kabob and one chicken on a layer of lavash and grilled tomato. A side box of Shirazi salad (tomatoes, Persian cucumber, red onion, mint, parsley, lemon and olive oil). A side box of extra lavash. Came with 2 garlic spread sauce, 2 tzatziki sauce, and 2 red spicy sauce. And a ton of Sumac spice packages that you sprinkle on top of the meat.

Bakery & Grill in Poway is such a great spot for Persian food. Everything tastes fresh and homemade, from the juicy kabobs and fluffy rice to the perfectly balanced flavors. Their Ghormeh Sabzi is my favorite: rich, comforting, and full of authentic Persian taste. The warm bread from the bakery is always fresh and served piping hot. Every time I’m in Poway I make sure to stop for something delicious, especially the lahem bajeen 😋. If you’re craving something comforting and satisfying, this place never disappoints.
I visited North Park Produce Bakery and Grill for lunch today and ordered the Lamb Shank. The price was reasonable, especially since they had a special today. The quality of the food was excellent. Afshin, the cashier, was very polite and greeted customers with respect and a smile. I recommend this restaurant to everyone.

The falafal and boneless chicken kebab are simpling amazing.
Craving for kebabs and rice and decided to try out this restaurant next to the supermarket. One orders from the counter, pay, and a server would bring out the food. If one only want to drink water, one can self serve. The price is very reasonable. The food was perfectly seasoned and delicious. We love the garlic spread, used on the meat and rice. They bake their bread onsite. Tandoori bread with garlic spread - yummy 😋 Will go back and try other dishes.
We've been visiting this restaurant for a few years now, but this is the first time I'm taking the effort to write a review. They offer a solid selection of Mediterranean food, and their chicken a d beef plates—served with rice and side salads—are consistently great. Recently, we tried the chicken and beef shawarma sandwiches. While the portions were generous and quite filling, we found the flavor to be a bit underwhelming—more on the bland side than expected. One standout feature is that they provide free water and hot tea, which is a thoughtful touch and much appreciated—especially in the Poway area where such offerings are rare. Also worth mentioning is the excellent grocery store next door, which is a great bonus.
North Park Produce is pretty amazing. I will review in two parts, Restaurant & Market. Restaurant: Persian & Mediterranean Bakery & Grill. The food is really good. Many choices to eat. I have ordered food to go multiple times, and i am a good 30+ miles away. Shirley really enjoys the #7 Baghali Polo (lamb shank meal). I also included a side of rice with barberries (also known as Zereshk Polo in the Persian communities). I must say, I am never big on eating rice, but those barberries are amazing. I am a creature of habit (it means I am old...lol), and always get the same thing...first, I must have the huge fresh (flat & round) made bread (can be used as a flotation device...just kidding) i do not know the proper name, but I will say, I see a separate line where folks just purchase the bread and leave. Always served in a brown paper bag....reminds me of leaving the liquor store with on 40oz Old English 800 wrapped in a paper bag...(back in the early 80's..lol) In addition to the bread, I get a small container order of the following, Hummus, Baba ghanoush, and Tzatziki sauce. I also order the #24 Ghormeh Sabzi ("Gesundheit") a thick dark beef stew which i use to dip the bread in, along with the other dips. Yummy. With as many folks there during lunch, keep an eye on your order if to go, those little vibrating devices do not always work...I waited 40 min, and my food was sitting there awhile. Market: North Park Produce. I really enjoy going to meat section as the variety of meats are enormous. Most are normally not available in your standard stores. I cannot stop by without buying salaries sausages and Bologna meats...so, so good. I just discovered the fresh cheese section. I had no idea that there were so many different types of Feta cheese. Based on the recommendation of a Persian man, I ordered the "Lighvan cheese" wowzer, rich, smooth, and so tasty. Huge Produce section with exotic produce not normally found. A bit of a madhouse negotiating the produce area. Sweets, so many exotic sweets if you have a sweet tooth. One negative: The bathroom is a bit of a hot mess, due to the masses, and to be honest, appears to be a low priority in keeping it clean. Best to not go in. Finally, the bathroom is not a deal breaker, and the long wait for food is also not a deal breaker. I will continue to stop by and get he same order, same meats, and cheeses. Enjoy
We were a group of six motorcyclists stopping by for lunch, and North Park Produce did not disappoint. We ordered the beef koobideh kabob with fresh bread and Shirazi salad — everything was flavorful and freshly made. The portions were generous, the quality was great, and the prices were very reasonable. A casual spot with authentic vibes — definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area
I want to update and try more So nice so potential…. Flatbread, beef salad, and ground beef kabob were good. Lamb is just ok, not interested. Free water. Inside market. So convenient and reliable.
Simple but delicious food, great attitude and service and an excellent variety of middle eastern eats with the additional bonus that most choices are also healthy. The restaurant is conveniently located next to the North Park Produce store so if you feel like drinking a Tarhun, you just walk over to the other side and pick one up. Yes, we did!

Great food. Bad atmosphere. Bring your thick coat because apparently the AC is broken? But stuck on? And so the AC is blasting even in the middle of winter. Very uncomfortable and it’s always been like this, even though every time I ask I get told “the button just broke today” I would eat here more often if it wasn’t so cold.
Tasty, but not enough to justify the slow service. My family has enjoyed takeout from here several times, but the wait times have stretched to the point that we will no longer be coming back. On our last visit, we ordered only two kabob plates, a salad, and a tandoor flatbread. Given that there is always some delay, we weren't surprised when we were told the wait would be 20 minutes - however we sat around for more than *45 Minutes*, before getting our food. (The bags were also handed over with a bit of a grumpy attitude too, since it seemed they didn't appreciate me lurking near the counter for the last 20 minutes.) As I say, we won't be back.
North park produce is very fresh Persian food while you shop. We come to North park produce for our grocery shopping twice in the month and mostly we will get the Flatbread and their Pie and few times we also stayed for their lunch. First highlight is, their plate size is huge. You can easily order 2 plates and three can be full. Flatbread: $2 Available in meet, garlic flavors. I love the meet flavor, it is flavor ful and you can eat at anytime. Do try their Flatbread Pie: $1:50 They have chicken, cheese and potato filling. Eat it hot, it is very yummy. I have tried Boneless Chicken Kabob, Ghormeh Sabzi and Falafel Plate. Boneless Chicken Kabob is amazing grilled, it is so soft and melts in your mouth. Saffron and green rice are amazing among their specialty rice. Ghormeh Sabzi comes with Sauteed vegetables, beef cooked with dried limes and red kidney beans, yumm. Their Bakery section have pretty much all the Iranian desserts. Turkish delight, Love it !!! Service: Service is very Friendly and Fast. Atmosphere is very casual setting. Down: Cleaning the table after the customer leaves could be more fast and more often. Note: They wont let grocery inside the restaurants, so please load in to your car and come back

I noticed 4% sevice charge for using my credit card while i was waiting for my food. I complained but they said they couldnt help with it. It reminded me of some generic brand gas stations with 2 different pricing. My wife goes there often but I'm the one paying the credit card bills. Not that i know may be my wife willpay more attention.
Bought smoked chicken thighs - almost throw up! It takes a lot to get "me going". I have heard that they are selling expired product but this is the first time I experienced it and it is not acceptable. San Diego and the City of Poway have to do something about it.
One of the worst grocery stores ever! Many products has close expiration dates .Avoid fresh produce items!!! Fruites & vegtables are very bad shape
Extremely slow service. We waited over 45 minutes for a family meal with no proper explanation or apology. Not what you expect when dining out with family.
Food was good, but when I asked for extra hot sauce, they refused to give. I paid $70 for lunch, and you can't even provide extra sauce. This sounded very cheap to me, and has never happened with me anywhere else.
Just imagine for a ready food and 5 bread it takes 35 minutes. Super shameful for the management. There was a better place before.
They charge me 10 dollars for 1 gyro sandwich. After paying, I waited 25 min to receive my food. I saw people who ordered after I did getting big containers and bags of food before they even started on mine. TLDR; Expensive and they Don't Value Your Time.
Disappointed waited for over 15 minutes for our food and my name was never called. It wasn't even busy after 330pm. First the order was taken down wrong. Then we ended up watching an old man and his son eating their wrapped lunch and finished and they came after us. The cashier finally saw we kept looking at them and finally called us. So that togo bag was sitting on the side for at least 10 minutes cold when we asked for eating in therestaurant. All I ordered was a chicken Shawarma wrap and my partner a kabab and pita. No apologies. Very disappointed, I've been to better places
Bread is good. We wanted to try the food too but after being ignored in line for 10 minutes, until another gentleman arrived and the manager immediately instructed someone to take his order, we'd had enough. Unless you're in with the staff I wouldn't bother.
I've had a chicken wrap but it was the worst one I've ever had. First there was no sauce in the wrap, second the chicken was dry as sand, and the whole thing tasted disgusting i just took a bite then just threw it away. I will never eat from here again. Hope they see this and improve their food.
First time trying this place, and I will say that the wrap it more like a burrito ( tasted like a mix of chicken and fish). I'm not sure if that is supposed to be the flavor. The cucumber salad was sours and plain. im not used to this food, but I'm not coming back. I dont even eat the food.

Terrible service. I waited 30 minutes for 3 naan and I was purposefully ignored. The lady working the tandoor is especially rude and was ignoring my order despite even her coworkers telling me i’ve been waiting so long. I feel like South Asian customers are treated differently and poorly than other customers here. Ridiculous place.
