It takes a certain type of entitled arrogance to visit a small town beach with literally 4 restaurants and give one of them a 1-2 star review. The service at this place is absolutely great! We stayed in Puerto Ángel for a month, and the waiter Rigoberto never forgot us. After the first visit, he recognized us on the way to the market a few days later and said hello! He offered us tips on boat tours and was always very helpful at the restaurant. As long as we stayed away from the non-Mexican dishes here, the food was good! Great salsas, very good carnes, and the drinks were exactly what we’d expect. The location can’t be beat, although sometimes at dinner the tide can start inching a little close to the shoreline tables. Overall, this place was great, and they really won us over with the service!
Bad hygiene but good food not expensive and nice waiters
Good service good food music and a very kind waiter I recommend if you don't have a lot of money to buy food
Very high prices for what they offer. Bad service. Slow, small portions, and not very tasty.
Buscaremos otra alternativa
The guy was initially friendly but the coffee was disgusting and the huevos rancheros were not edible either...just a fried egg between two tortillas with some weird tomato sauce and cheese ontop. All for almost 300 pesos + a service charge that felt manipulative since it wasn't listed and was a "surprise." I come from a country where we tip 20% for GOOD food and service and this was not it. Just 👎
He has no knack for seasoning the food
Very poor treatment by one of the owner's sons... and the place smells very damp. I understand that the customer comes first, whether they arrive first or last, and that there should be no prioritization or being arrogant.
Today I went to the restaurant with my family, and the young man who gave us parking was very helpful. When we arrived, we asked for a table out front with lounge chairs, and they said no problem, but that wasn't the case. We sat at a table for 14 people and ordered food for 3 pm. In the meantime, about 20 other people arrived, and they were seated at the front. They moved our umbrella and lounge chairs to make room for them. These people were rude and laughed at us. A very tall, heavyset man with a disheveled appearance told us to leave if we didn't like it, and we did leave because he grabbed a machete. Don't go; I don't recommend it, and you definitely won't have a bad experience.
The worst restaurant. There were some friendly waitresses, but another man (I assume he was the waitresses' uncle) rushed us out and pulled our table away. We told him he was kicking us out and that we were leaving because of his bad treatment, but he didn't care and even asked us, "Have you left already?" As our group started to leave, the man pulled out a machete in an intimidating way. We were with children and elderly people. 0/10 recommended in every way
Terrible! There's a man who first very politely convinces you to sit in his space. He does his job of bringing people in, but then once you're there, they treat you horribly (in other words, the man's work is completely wasted). You're served by some chubby women with short hair who are like family and are super rude. They charged us $80 for a glass of iced water with salt and lemon, and when we told them, they got really annoying. The place smells horrible.
Way too expensive for what it is, the food is mediocre, the place is ugly and overpriced. Don't go, 0% recommended
Don't come, some whiting (4) $300, not even a good size of the plate, nor quantity, nor quality. Avoid it at all costs because it's a rip-off.
HOW OPPORTUNISTS !!!!! They are people who take advantage of tourists and do not care how shameless they are !!!! I ordered a 150 Milanese and magically the man made me pay 180 because I had potatoes and the man never told us that it had an extra cost, he just asked us if we wanted it with potatoes and everything and we said yes, then he automatically added a 15 percent tip to the bill !!!!! And not to mention how ugly the food was, THEY LEAVE, VERY UGHTLESS HOW THEY BEHAVED !!!!!!
An extremely horrible place, we arrived at the beach and immediately a man began to follow us and insist on promoting his “restaurant” if it can even be considered one, in which we could sit down due to the general consumption, we arrived and the lady who served us kept insisting on a boat tour which we accepted for a high price, promising the sighting of dolphins and turtles as well as a minimum time of 2 and a half hours, on the tour we saw absolutely nothing, which is understandable since it is not under their control, however, they did not comply with the promised hours, taking more than half an hour of the tour and almost forcing us to consume some drinks. We let that go and sat for a while longer. We paid for our drinks, and were told that the table charge was 500 pesos and that the promised price could only be honored if we bought food, something they'd never mentioned before. And that despite having spent over 3,000 pesos on the boat and drinks, the table charge couldn't be waived. They basically forced us to consume the equivalent of the table price, and it was that or nothing. All of this was done in an arrogant tone and amid shouting, since the servers were extremely rude. Later, we ordered a dish of an equivalent price, which was terrible; the vegetables looked spoiled, and it wasn't worth the price at all. I'd rather avoid any problems by going to this unpleasant place. If I could, I'd give it a zero.
This ugly little place is practicing a scam as old as time and so common throughout Mexico. You're told one thing and then the bill comes with something entirely different. We were brought here for lunch by a local who promised something great, we sat and reviewed menus while ordering drinks. They suggested that 5 of us, rather than ordering individually, should get a large "seafood platter" instead, insinuating that it would be a better value. It turned out to cost about 4x what it would have if we had ordered off the menu. Judging by other reviews, this has been happening here for years. The "platter" was a tin foil covered baking sheet with a small lobster, 3 shrimp, 3 tacos, half a fried fish, some French fries, a pile of rice, and some misc garnish- not much food for 5 men. The price was almost $4,000- insanity. The restaurant is dirty and the bathroom is horrendous. The food is slow and the flies are abundant. The sand at the restaurant is filled with ants that will crawl all over you. The dogs stay near your table looking for scraps while the fleas jump onto your legs. The bay itself is also dirty, with floating sewage and many fishing boats that dump their waste in the water. I would not advise going to the area at all, but if you do, definitely do not eat at this restaurant. Do yourself a favor and visit Mazunte or Zipolite instead. Both are beautiful with a variety of great restaurants that don't need to scam people out of their hard earned vacation dollars...
Terrible place, the food was very expensive and poorly served, with very small portions. The waiter was friendly at first, but when we mentioned that we had ordered a dish without spice, he started ignoring us, as he didn't bring all the sides and we had to keep reminding him to bring them. When we paid, instead of bringing a coffee, they added another glass of shrimp cocktail and a 10% tip. And to top it all off, the food made me sick.
Avoid eating here!!! The food is rotten! Literally, when I ordered fish broth, it came out rotten, green inside. They initially claimed that was the type of fish, but given the stench it gave off, they had to admit that everything had been frozen for days. It's also the most expensive place. And they didn't even stop charging for the rotten broth. The health department should intervene; it's a health risk. Plus, you have to get up to get a soft drink because the service isn't attentive.
It took a really long time to get our food. We waited around 3 hours, and when it came time to give the bill, the waiter added a 450 tip to the bill. Check it carefully... I don't recommend it!
Don’t come here!total rip off ! Avoid and don’t let them fool you !
