Always have to visit Pollo Lucas! Never fails to satisfy. So delicious! I really think their refried beans are the best I've had! 🥰 My only negative is vendors bothering you while you are eating. And someone is always trying to wash your car. I appreciate the hustle but I just came for food.

Our trip to Rocky Point this time finally included going to Lucas Charbroiled Chicken on one of the main streets of Rocky Point. When we got there, we were ushered by some folks who would for a donation clean your car. We were there around 3:30 p.m. and it was not crowded. Other times we have passed the place and crowds were big. As we went in, we could see the chickens being grilled and the smells was glorious. The staff were very friendly and told us to sit where ever we wanted. The orders are simple. Few items. We got a half chicken and it came with pickled onions and thinly sliced cabbage and a lime. You could get corn or flour tortillas or a bit of both. We also ordered a separate side of rice and refried beans. Best part was the service being fast. Before we knew it the order was in front of us. The chicken has to be to best charbroiled chicken I’ve had in a while! All of it was delicious, the perfectly cooked skin, the meat was juicy, not dry and even the meat right next to the bone had flavor. I suspect they leave the chickens in a seasoned brine for at least more than a day to achieve that kind of flavor. Cooking over hot coals also does the trick. When the grease and juices fall on those hot coals it comes back in the way of an aromatic smoke. Smoke is an ingredient. Another great aspect of eating chicken here is that these chickens didn’t look massive as far as the meat portions go. In the U.S. we have chickens the size of small turkeys due to all the hormones they get. These chickens at Lucas weren’t that type. Another reason why they tasted better. It was more natural; you could tell by the softness and consistency of the meat. I don’t know how their chickens were raised but I suspect they were not full of anti-biotics or hormones or anything like that. All this was paired perfectly with the other items. You could make yourself a taco or burrito with all the garnishes along with the beans and rice. The salsa they brought with this order was great too. Or just enjoy the chicken on its own. Either way, you can’t go wrong. It waw so good we took a whole chicken to go for later. I know we’ll be back there for more next time we go to Rocky Point. Best part is there is a sister restaurant in Coolidge, AZ. For sure I'll be going there to compare. I hope it's as good. Regardless...this might be my new favorite chicken. The prices are current as of 10/2025 and are in Mexican Pesos.

This is my go to when I get to Rocky Point. I get a few orders it comes with everything. Two half chickens, flour Tortillas, beans, rice, shredded cabbage and pickled red onion and salsa. Then I head to my condo and have a few meals for $20.00 us cash. it’s amazing and so fresh and delicious.

At this point, no review is really needed, this is probably the best known spot in town. But still, it deserves the credit. Honestly, this might be the best chicken I’ve ever had. Simple, no frills, just done right. Staff is friendly, the vibe is great, and while the chicken is definitely the star, the sides hold their own too. All around, just a must-stop if you’re in town.

Pollo Lucas is a humble roadside staple that absolutely delivers. The menu is simple: pollo al carbón (half or full), rice, beans, and handmade tortillas. That’s all you need when the flavors are this dialed in. The chicken is grilled over charcoal until it’s smoky, salty, juicy, and just the right kind of messy. Every plate comes with salsa, pickled red onions, lime, and cabbage to pile into warm, freshly made tortillas. We ordered one full chicken plate with all the sides for 238 pesos in June 2025, and it easily fed 3 adults and 2 toddlers. Service was fast and friendly, even with a full crowd. It can get busy at dinner and on weekends, but there is plenty of shaded seating under the palapa. Everything is outdoors, and they prefer cash, so come prepared. No frills and no fuss. Just honest food cooked over open flame. A must-stop if you are in Puerto Peñasco.

Leave enough time on holiday weekends. The place was packed. It took us almost an hour to get our food. There are drinks in the fridge that you can grab for urself. The charbroiled chicken is the only item on the menu. It was good. In my opinion their salsa, and their beans are the star of the show. They were very good and flavourful.

The chicken never saw the freezer; fesh, moist, and delicious. The marinated, grilled chicken is served in halves or wholes. Rustic setting with a cane ceiling and straw roof; unique and beautiful. Be prepared, depending on your chili tolerance, when you try the salsa! Refried beans and rice are very good as sides. Bottled Horchata. The wheat tortillas were thin, and delicious. Numerous options. Original plate comes with shredded white cabbage and pickled sliced onion, with a half, large lime. Recommended.

WOW!!! A must if you're going to Rocky Point. My boyfriend and I go there first thing when we arrive in Mexico and on the way home, we get a whole chicken, some incredible tortillas and beans. THE BEANS!!! Just enough spice, so tasty. Absolutely incredible. The staff is wonderful and the doggies are the sweetest beggars!!

Rustic, open air seating, the smell of dozens of grilled chickens wafting through the air...paradise. We make a point of stopping here at least once, every year. This is, by far, the best chicken in Puerto Peñasco!

They say they have the best chicken in town and they're not lying. It is so delicious. You can get a whole or half chicken and buckets of beans and rice. It is very cheap. It has a good central location and is cute with a thatch roof. Unfortunately it is dirty inside with dogs and cats and birds. Also there are guys hanging out outside washing your car without you asking and they demand money after.

The chicken is seasoned and cooked to perfection. I can’t speak too much in consistency of the food as I’ve only been once, but the time I went it was absolutely delicious. The rice and beans that come as a side are delicious as well. Some of the best flour tortillas in town. We did have to wait quite a while to be seated, and it seems they are a little disorganized because they first told us that there was no chicken left, then not even 5 minutes later they told us they still had 4 chickens.

Our group of 7 ordered 2 whole chickens, 2 rice, 2 beans, Tortillas, and 1 Mac salad (I think it was supposed to be soup.) We devoured all the chicken and have leftover rice, beans, salsa, and Tortillas for tomorrow. Bonus: you get flour AND corn Tortillas. Easy convenient location, has good parking, and lots of open-air covered seating. Dine in or take home. Great price for tons of great food!

If you go to Rocky Point this is a must stop place. this place has been here many years and there's a reason for that they serve great chicken. The chicken is cooked over an open pit and is extremely tender and full of flavor. The prices are fantastic. I would definitely recommend this place and I would eat here again. It looks like they do a lot of take out as well as seating. Definitely a must stop!

El pollo tiene muy buen sabor está en $220 el pollo entero incluye tortillas, repollo, cebolla y salsa; otros complementos como arroz y frijoles se cobran a parte y me parecen un poco caros pero el pollo 100% vale la pena.

El pollo, el arroz, la sopa fría, la salsa y los frijoles deliciosos! Los precios son un poco elevados. Aunque me gustan mucho las mascotas, creo que no da muy buen aspecto y es insalubre que tengan perros y gatos merodeando por todo el restaurante.

Pollo Lucas was a nice experience. The chicken was amazing and full of flavor. When you order the pollo entero (whole chicken) you get everything including the neck. The menu is pretty basic. Your meal comes with tortillas, lime, cabbage and slaw. You can order rice and beans and macaroni salad on the side. Place the order is kind of confusing so make sure you ask so you're getting what you want. Also paying is a little confusing. The seating is outside to be ready for the flies and the heat. Also not in the greatest location but everyone was really friendly and was having a good time. If I was to do it again I would order to go or for pick up but all and all it was a good time.

Está bueno en el aspecto de que no me hizo daño y por lo regular casi todo me cae mal, pero no me parece un muy buen sabor y está seco, prefiero mil veces el pollo feliz que aquí no hay pero para mí ese pollo es el mejor que he probado y me parece una exageración que se llene tanto como si fuera un manjar, además pésimo servicio, tardaron 1:30 en llevarnos el pollo, la mesa estaba sucia, no había casi nada de tomar etc. No vuelvo a ir

El pollo está muy bueno, solo que dan prioridad a los comensales norteamericanos y desplazan al consumidor local, además de que hay muchos vendedores ambulantes y no dejan disfrutar de la comida, y no hay alguien que controle el acceso de los mismos, en el lugar también dejan circular perros y gatos de la calle.

Pésima atención vía telefónica, tomaron la llamada y colgaron inmediatamente. Por lógica de la barata, si tienes un número para brindar atención telefónica es porque vas a atender a tu clientela por vía telefónica, si tienen profesionalismo y verdadera atención al cliente tomen las llamadas o en su defecto eliminen el número para que así nadie pueda llamarles.

No me gustó xq llegamos tres familias, dos extranjeras y una local y a ellos los atendieron inmediatamente, 10 minutos después yo tuve que acercarme a la caja para ver si tenía que pagar para que me atendieran y me dijeron que no, que una mesera pasaba a nuestra mesa. Todavía pasaron 10 minutos más y si no es porque le llamo a la mesera para que fuera a nuestra mesa no se acerca. Ya que se acercó y le dije íbamos a pedir, se excuso de que no nos atendía porque pienso que iba a ser para llevar, (estando una familia completa sentada en sus mesas). Y nos dijo que no tenían por el momento pollo, que salía en 30 minutos. Enojados ya nos retiramos, pésimo servicio en todos los aspectos y los precios no son nada económicos tomando en cuenta el servicio que te dan
