One of the best authentic Indonesian food in the US ! Many good selections on the menu and many Indonesian good stuff in the grocery section. Nice peoples & reasonable prices.
When I miss eat authentic Indonesian food, I came to this place. The foods are excellent. Friendly service and the price is reasonable! Please support this local restaurant during this difficult time.
We love this place. The padang banana leaf rice is the best.
The Satay Babi, and Satay Ayam is bomb! The Nasi Goreng is delicious and the Kroket is delicious too. The Restaurant also has a little corner that sells seasoning and other various Indonesian items like Kopiko 3 in 1 packs. Friendly service and friendly cook came and spoke with us about the order and how it was made.
One of the best indonesian restaurant in CA, hands down!! Lots of options!!! I visited from other state, and will definitely come here again on my next visit!!
Good place to have Indonesian Cuisine. Lunch, dinner or snack. Owner,Tony, is very welcome and always talk to guests. Food is consistently good quality.
100% authentic and delicious according to my very Indonesian family. I've overheard other Indonesian customers picking up huge orders, saying they're stocking up on good Indo food since they drove from out-of-state to get it. I feel very fortunate to live near the best Indonesian restaurant in the US!
Great, fresh food! This place has amazing Indonesian food. The lamb or pork satay is grilled fresh and the meat is tender. I have also tried the spicy chicken mushroom noodles, BOMB! Excellent little spot for lunch, good crowd. The owner was very nice and attentive.
Great food & they have a small grocery store connected with 100% juice drinks yum 😋
Located just off Miliken Ave in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, is this LOVELY GEM of an Indonesian restaraunt, Java Bistro. The food, service and atmosphere here is absolutely amazing. The restaraunt is small, yet bustling with the sould of kitchen noises and the Indonesian language being spoken (Bahasa?) with a slight touch of music in the background. Now, to be completely honest, this is NOT my first time eating here by any means. Due to my travels, I come around the area frequently and try to eat here whenever possible. My favorite dish(es) are: Nasi Campur (Nahs-ee Cham-poor), which is a bunch of delicious types of pork (pork belly, sausage, etc) served on a bed of rice with clear soup, slices of cucumber, a liquidy sweet/savory sauce and Sambal (Saahm-ball); Satay Kambing (Sah-tay Kam-bing) which is bits of Lamb on a bamboo kebab skewer (served with a sweet/spicy sauce, and on a bed of rice if you choose); And Tahu Isi (Ta-who Eee-see) which is basically an egg roll, except it is Tofu stuffed with the same filling, battered and deliciously fried. I also buy some of the things on the table at the front, such as various cakes, stuffed rice things, and so on. Another plis about this place is that I can come here to get for myself and my wife, some Indonesian foodstuffs from the attached store. Stuff like Sambal (a chili sauce, to which there's MANY types), durian (a stinky, yet delicious fruit), Indonesian Ramen (Indomie is the national favorite and biggest brand), and so... Much... More! So, if you want to try some unique yet delicious food AND you'd like to try your hand with some of the local stuff they import, then THIS is the best place you'll eat in the area! I promise that you won't be sorry you ate here!!
So happy we found this place! The food is authentic and yummy. Staff is so nice and welcoming. They have an Indonesian store connected to the restaurant! A true treasure.
Very Friendly owners/co workers. We knew we were running late and really wanted their Indonesian food before heading out of town. They accommodated our request as we arrived 10 month minutes after they had closed for the day! Very good service. Will visit again.
Very tasty authentic Indonesians food
It’s a good place when I miss my hometown foods. The Chicken Satay is very good, and Nasi Padang Kikil is always been the best. If you are craving to try Indonesian food, this place is a must.
One of my favorite place to eat when I am in the area. Java Bistro is a great small Indonesian restaurant that serves real Indonesian dishes. You can enjoy rich rendang, tasty nasi goreng, flavorful satay, and spicy sambal. The service is friendly and makes dining there a pleasure. If you want to cook Indonesian food at home, visit the grocery store next door. The staff, especially the cashier, are very helpful and polite. Little grocery is well stocked with Indo favorites.
If you’re craving Indonesian cuisine in Rancho Cucamonga, this place is the spot for you. They offer a wide variety of Indonesian dishes, including tahu isi, arem-arem, lemper, and pastel. If you’re feeling adventurous and want to cook Indonesian dishes yourself, they also have a complete selection of Indonesian ingredients at the grocery store. The location is convenient, with a spacious parking lot. The staff is friendly and helpful, making your dining experience even more enjoyable.
I wrote a review for this restaurant in Chinese four years ago, and I'm not sure why I gave it only 3 stars. I reread my article but couldn't identify the reason. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Greater Los Angeles area. I haven't visited the restaurant for quite some time since it's 40 miles away from my home. I typically stop by when I'm on my way to the Ontario outlets, but I haven't been to the outlets since the pandemic began. The restaurant has an adjacent market without a separate public entrance. To access the market, you have to first enter the restaurant. It sells a variety of Indonesian foods, ingredients, seasonings, snacks, and more. I once purchased Indonesian cigarettes from the market, notable for their distinct clove aroma and sweet-tasting filter. A word of caution: they're quite robust and potent. On my visit, there was a very young waitress, possibly a teenager, who didn't understand my Indonesian. We ordered Nasi Padang and the house special noodle soup. The Nasi Padang was a rice plate with fried chicken, fried tofu, beef, and topped with colorful crackers. The rice was not initially served with Sambal, but upon request, the waitress provided it. The crackers reminded me of my time spent in Indonesia, particularly Bali and Jakarta. The fried chicken portion was small, resembling a spring chicken; I reckon I received about a fourth of the entire chicken, smaller than my fist. However, it was flavorful. While the beef seemed slightly overcooked, it was palatable. The Sambal sauce was exceptional; I even took the remainder home and made an entire meal with it. The other dish, Bakso Gili (special meatball noodle soup), was also delightful with its umami/MSG-rich broth. It had two varieties of meatballs, which I assume were beef. The meat-stuffed fried tofu was a highlight. As a Chinese, we have a similar dish, and this one evoked warmth. The bowl also contained fried wonton, which was crispy and tasty. I can't recall why I gave the restaurant only 3 stars previously, but this time, it unquestionably deserves 5 stars.
The Best Indonesian Restaurant so far. Nasi Padang taste so authentic, Ayam Kremes is winner of the day!!! Soooo Good 💕💕 the avocado juice also yummm. And they have a groceries also. Definitely will comeback more and more and more!!!
I have been to this restaurant a few times, from the time that they only had a 1-page menu. When I visited this place last month, they have expanded the menu, and it took me a while to decide because a lot of things sounded delicious. It's authentic Indonesian food, very close to the taste of the food in Indonesia. I usually order Rica Rica Noodle, but this time I tried Bakmie Abang, and I loved it. The portion is big and there are a lot of contents. I was very full when I left the store. Attached to it's building, they opened grocery store that sells Indonesian snacks and some products. It's always a pleasure to visit this place.
Everything's good... especially when you fell homesick.
good food, good service, served fast. beside it there are selling Indonesian supermarkets. very interesting. If you are on vacation or on a business trip, please stop by
Delicious Indonesian Food in the area. Just taste like a home. You can also buy some Indonesian spices and more.
Very delicious food and has very rich taste 😋 my favorite was the Mie goreng jawa it's must have!
Food is really great in terms of quality and quantity! Customer service is fantastic! Very authentic indeed 😋😊

Delicious Indonesia food.... Nasi kuning, ayam bakar whole -taste really good, also the es teller had good texture.
Excellent food 😋 great service and Indonesian grocery store and Dutch stuff bakery 👌 clean environment 👌 👍
Delicious food like I've never had before. Chicken, beef rendang, egg, jackfruit and cabbage all wrapped up in one big banana leaf with rice. If you like spicy food, I can recommend this restaurant. Every time I visit I get another delicious treat. Super friendly staff make me feel at home.
Food never disappoints. We had the Gado-Gado, Nasi Goreng and Sate-Babi with Lon-ton (rice). Cendol (drink) was delicious.
Amazing! Excellent service. My husband I first time eating Indonesian food and the young waitress helped us pick out dishes that ended up being perfect for us. When we were done eating we went to the grocery store that was connected and picked up a couple dessert items I can't wait to try! Food portions are great prices good. We will be back to try more things.

First time eating here and the food was delicious 😋 I am glad I decided to try something new. The taste reminded me of Thai food but richer flavors. The service was good. I will definitely return to try different dishes 👏🏼
The food its very nice, altho their service is a bit too slow. Maybe due to shortage staff.
Went here during my lunch break. I had the number 26. Noodle with spicy ground chicken and season egg. I really liked the noodles and the chicken was good. I've never had a seasoned boiled egg. It was tasty. First time having Indonesian good. Will visit again. Open seating. I was able to pay at the register. Minimum credit card is $25.
My best friend and his family are from Indonesia his parents just took me here for my birthday lunch I have to say is one of the best Indonesian restaurants I've come across here in California. The place is always busy full of other Indonesians which is always good sign
The food is okay. Could be better. We had Nasi Ayam Bakar and Nasi Iga Bakar and an Es Doger. I was actually disappointed for Iga Bakar for over $20.00 the beef rib meat really hard and dry. The grilled chicken softer and fell off the bone. Their small grocery store is what we came for.

Okay. Kinda cozy. Has a market attached to it. Food was not what I expected, but then again I've never had Indonesian food. Okay place if it's what you like.
The food is excellent! But the wait is long! I'm an indo... I miss my parents cooking since they've passed... But I always come here with my sister to taste the Indonesian food...I gave it a 3 star for the 45 min. Wait on food... And the place had just opened.
Bought batagor today from them. I love their batagor but havent had the chance to come by for awhile. Really disappointed to know for the price, they give smaller portion now. I dont know if its just my bad luck today or they have already cut portion sizes now.

Let me tell ya, this place is actually one of the closest and best taste I’ve ever had near my house, I live in Highland and this is a perfect place not too far from my house to go to, since the pandemic they do not take order in the house they want you to call in and order and pick it up,(For take out) I am currently pregnant and I do crave Indonesian food that is convenient for me (order vs making them) when I called in I ask that I want two NASI PADANG and I actually ask if they could make it vegetarian because I knew from my previous visits here I could do that but the person on the phone said no can’t make it vegetarian, so I went along with it I’m thinking I can just place the meat aside I was just craving bold flavor, and mind you she said 15mins, my travel time is 30min so I’m assuming when I arrive the food will be ready for me to takeout, long story short, I had to wait another 15min and I have a habit of checking everything in the car before we go, when I checked I’m like I don’t see no leaf packaging (which is what nasi padang usually place in) I see two boxes, so I went ahead and open it, well I just found rice and rendang beef I’m like.. this is not what I order... I went back and told the cashier that they got my order wrong in the nice way and this rude lady came out from the kitchen and she was like “I talked to you on the phone, YOU DID ORDER THESE” but I’m like no I said I wanted nasi Padang, the thing I don’t like is she was so adamant that I WAS THE ONE IN THE WRONG, let me tell ya, I AM A VEGAN PREGNANT WOMAN, I KNEW WHAT I WANT AND I KNEW WHAT I PICK AND CHOOSE TO GO INSIDE MY BELLY IN THIS CRAZY CRAVING TIME SO DO NOT TELL ME I WAS WRONG.. I am sorry but even my hubby said I never said rendang I said Padang.. oh well not very happy about the attitude.. even though at the end of the day she told us to wait another 15min (ended up staying a bit longer than that) she fix the order and give me my nasi Padang but I already have these ill-feel about how she doesn’t have to do all that fuss.. I feel like service matters over food no matter how delicious your food, if your service suck I will give you a bad review cuz that is not a good experience to feel.. the cashier said sorry and she’s not even the one that is wrong but I appreciate her apologizing! Like I said the food is amazing but the rude lady, someone just need to talk to her to calm it down..
Today was so busy and packed. We got to find seat, grab the menu, get water by OURSELVES. We even had to make ourselves to be heard and seen to get someone would take our orders, while a couple who just got seated after us, were taken their orders first. And, the lady (long hair) put the tips 15% over total bill automatically(including snacks on the counter that we packed OURSELVES) because we were party of 5. We wouldn’t mind if you did your part too, like seated us, handed us the menus and brought water for us, took our order as per first come first serve. So we tip you for what? Bad service? That’s a basic thing in restaurants industry isn’t it? Now, let’s talk about the same lady at the checkout when we were about to pay. She answered 2 questions from 2 other customers rudely, I was like, wow, customers brought their business to you and you served them depends on how your mood is? No one deserves this lady attitude. Pls treat your Indonesians fellow the same as others and also either you know them personally or not, all of them deserve the same quality of service. Never seen this lady before most of my visits but she shouldn’t be allowed to be dealing with customers if she keeps her attitude like that. As much as I like Indonesian food, for me service is #1.
I will never going back there. ordered on the phone 30 mnts before. instead of having it readyonce i got there, they made it when I got there. I know for sure they gave my food to someone else that just came in to eat in. taste just ok, not that great. If you want indonesian food, go to city of industry and get them. forget this place! food are expensive. Each of the around $9-$13.
Too expensive, over price...fried rice #13, I paid almost $12.00. and it's a small portion and half just vegetables (can get 2 orders in Chinese rest). And sorry, doesn't taste good. Thinking twice to come back.
I ate here many times in the past. They were okay. Never been too delicious and not too bad. Considering rather difficult to find absolutely authentic Indonesian food overseas. So last time I went there, IDK what went wrong with this place. It was a normal peak rest hr (sat ard 12pm). I mean you have opened the rest for so long, there’re no excuse for sloppy service. We have to que to pay, we waited 50mins for our order to be served. When it finally came out sssssoooo dissapointed!!! The chicken was ULTRA SALTY!!! When I complained they only gave me 20% disc lol!! I only ate 5% of what’s on the plate. The quality is going downhill. Wasted my time. Will never come back! No thanks
First of all this place is a mess!! The service was bad, took so long and after waited for 45mins we had to remind them whether our foods were ready??! We kept back and forth to take the condiments like hot sauce etc, ourselves!! Because there was only 1 server!! And when we paid, they ‘FORCED CUSTOM’ the machine, gave us no choice to give 15% tip, for zero service. As far as I concern they don’t deserve any tip for their lousy service!! And they purposely added the packed snacks we picked to go m, along with our dine in foods. So the total amount would be greater than the actual dine in price!!! My my. Bad things after another. The foods were okay, not over the top but not bad. I doubtly we will ever come back here!! But they don’t care. They don’t care abt the customer reviews and all. This place was wayyy better couple of years ago. It’s ridiculous now !!!
Terrible customer service. We felt like we were not welcome. Waited for a long time for everything . The food were not as good as any other Indonesian restaurant in Southern CA.
Bad customer service, rude owner! If I could give 0 stars, I would!
I like Indonesian cuisine but this restaurant has no manners. I went to eat at Java Bistro and I was seated and the waiter didn't even offer us what we could drink or just plain ice cold water. I have been waiting for 15 mins and no one even bothered to serve u or at least ask if I need anything. I am hungry and thirsty. Please be considerate of your customers. You just lost a business from a potential loyal customer.
Worst & can not trust their business. I tried to be a nice customer by giving chances to them. Not this time, I have enough & giving a bad review. I'm tired if this cheating people. I guess they don't have integrity doing their business. You better double check before you leave this place & open your Togo order, they always cheated items for example they didn't put Tempe for Grilled Chicken.
I waited for one hour and a half from the moment I entered this place until the food was served. Think twice before coming here when you're in a hurry.
