Reservations are recommended to access parking. It's a very busy area, especially on weekends. If you're hiking in the area, it's also a good place to rest and refuel. The mountain cabin is ideal for enjoying what nature has to offer in every season. We enjoyed a warm meal while watching the snow through the window. Simple but delicious food: chorizo cooked in cider, zucchini with cheese and apple, venison stew, and local beef entrecote. The portions could perhaps be a little more generous, though not exactly small. Everything was very tasty. The service was very friendly. As usual, the drinks (a bottle of natural cider) and the desserts (the French toast was delicious) increased the bill. Contrary to what their website (which is a bit outdated) indicates, they do accept card payments. A simple, unpretentious place with good meat (though not a steakhouse) and an idyllic setting.
Our family and I had a delicious steak. The service was excellent; the staff were lovely and very efficient. The restaurant is in a beautiful location, and exploring the surrounding area was very easy. We'll definitely be back!
A wonderful setting to recharge. The food was delicious. Dishes with traditional flavor and generous portions. The ratatouille was spectacular, the meat very tender and cooked to perfection, the croquettes were amazing, the stew was impressive, and the fried pork belly was so good you'd want seconds… A place to recommend and sure to impress.
This restaurant is located in a beautiful spot next to the river and the Pradillo dam. It's the perfect place to end a hike to the Angostura bridge or the ancient yew tree of Barondillo. We had a super tender and juicy entrecote from the mountains, and they even served it on a warm plate to keep it hot (which I really appreciated, as I don't like cold meat). The service was also outstanding. Very understanding and friendly, and above all, patient: there was a table with five incredibly badly behaved children who kept running around the aisle and almost knocked over the trays several times. They were always kind and patient with those "little devils."
We were three people with a reservation, and although we arrived before the agreed-upon time, our table was prepared right away. We ordered croquettes as a starter, both with ham and boletus mushrooms, and both were delicious, crispy yet super creamy. For the main course, we all ordered entrecote, which was delicious and very tender, although if you don't like rare meat, I recommend choosing another option. As a negative, I'd say the service could have been a little faster, but it's not a place to go if you're in a hurry, but rather to enjoy. The setting is beautiful, which adds to the incredible experience.
My first time as a foreigner in this area . "Restaurante La Isla" is one of my good experience ..very famous and old, yet one of the best when it comes to steak dish for me...the best steak of the house cost €21 but its all good and comes in a huge piece (worth it the price).......awesome meal...
We went as a group of four after hiking through the valley. We had a reservation. You can leave your car in the parking lot with a reservation at the restaurant after 12:30. The best thing about this place is the croquettes, 100% homemade. The scrambled eggs with black pudding were also very good. For main courses, we ordered the steak, Castilian soup, and wild boar with plums. The highlight was the wild boar. For dessert, a very homemade French toast, very good value.
Surrounded by nature, this is definitely the place: Guadarrama Natural Park, next to the Lozoya River. If you want to arrive early and go hiking, there are some trails suitable even for very young children. Aside from the bar terrace, right by the river, reservations are not required. In summer, they have a large dining terrace with awnings. In winter, you can eat inside, where they also have a few tables... and a fireplace!!! The food is super authentic from the area. Vegetable garden, then stone-cooked Guadarrama beef. Or you can have this with wild boar, plum sauce, or chocolate sauce. Of course, you have stew soup or judiones (beans). And of course: homemade boletus croquettes, eggs with ratatouille... and more innovative dishes combining cheese, zucchini, and apple, for example. Desserts are few but homemade. The French toast is delicious. Fantastic prices. And the service is friendly, relaxed, and quite fast considering the busy schedule. It really makes you want to stay and walk around; the surroundings are fabulous. And I'm sure those pools are a luxury for swimmers in the summer. We're already planning to go back, and with trekking!

Great location and good (but not outstanding) food. Decent value for money. Will certainly repeat.
In the middle of the woods and right next to a river. Beautiful surroundings
I went to eat at La Isla restaurant last weekend. What could have been a good restaurant surrounded by nature fell far short of expectations. When we went in and asked the reservations girl, she told us to hurry because she didn't have time... The mushrooms were tasteless. The pork belly had been reheated in the microwave, which is why it had a rubbery coating. On the other hand, the two main courses weren't bad, though nothing particularly noteworthy except for the fries, which were very good.
Very bad. The food was awful. It was bad and cold. The worst cheesecake ever and the worst oxtail I've ever had. The wild boar loin was dry and tough. There's no heating in the restaurant to make it comfortable. The parking situation was very strange. They have to lock and unlock a padlock for you, as if you're in a hurry to leave. The river is beautiful.
The only redeeming feature was the setting. The experience was awful. From the arrival or departure, with a man who has to open a locked gate for you, to the food (if you can even call it that). The worst oxtail in the world. It tasted only of nutmeg and/or cinnamon, inedible, and served cold. A tough, dry pork knuckle that even our dog wouldn't touch when we gave it to him at home. Etc., etc. The place was cold inside. People were eating with their jackets on. To top it all off, they don't allow dogs, not even on the terrace. Furthermore, they don't give you a simplified receipt, only a ticket that says "pending payment." And it's not cheap. I won't be going back, and I won't recommend it to anyone.
Fatal
Blocking the FULL parking in front of their place! Shame!
