Best pesto! Great wine. The restaurant is in a very cute and quiet location. I recommend making a reservation but you may be able to get a table without one. Definitely worth a stop if you love pesto like I do.

Beautiful room, great service and interesting wine list. Food was incredible. My husband and I are both chefs with 20+ years experience with deep appreciation for regional Italian food. Every dish was elegant and fresh, the spaghetti with anchovy and ricotta Salata was one of the best pastas I've ever eaten. If you are looking for an authentic food experience in a village over run with tourist traps, come here settle in and enjoy the experience. The guest list is touristy, but Cinque Terre now belongs to tourists, so it's to be expected. This restaurant is a hidden gem. Saluti!

For a romantic dinner and flavorful entrees this is the perfect spot. We got the tartare as an appetizer, rump steak, pesto pasta, and cheesecake to top it all off. Every dish was delightful and the service was above and beyond.

Not sure why folks are giving lower ratings for this place. It is fantastic. We went 4 times in 7 days. Skip the tasting menu, go for a pizza and pasta dish. You will be plenty full. The star of this menu is the pizza with tuna and onions. Sounds like a weird combination but it is perfect. The staff is friendly too. Special shout out to Sonjel. Gracias por todo manito!!!

Piatti deliziosi e ricercati ma essendo una “trattoria” mi aspettavo porzioni più abbondanti invece le ho trovate al contrario abbastanza risicate. Primi piatti con pesce per metà fresco e metà immangiabile. Prezzi alti per una qualità mediocre se non scarsa. Il cameriere cordiale nel servizio ma poi lo si vede fumare appena fuori per poi continuare a servire senza neanche lavarsi le mani. Al momento di pagare, credo la proprietaria ci fa attendere per prendere una comanda di dolci di un altro tavolo. Qualità-prezzo non all’altezza. Non tornerò.

So this place was a recommendation from our apartment host- our first night here they were too booked to sit us she we went across to il gotto ( may be spelled wrong but it's directly across ) anyway the food across was absolutely delicious!! We finally went to eat here the day after for dinner and it wasn't has good, I would totally recommend you going to the place across the way! The pasta here had not much flavor and the seafood spaghetti was plain , this place also does not have air conditioner inside although there is a sign that says they do- long story short we went to the other place right across after we paid here !

As an Italian, I don't recommend it. Deludente. Rapporto qualità/prezzo pessimo, così come per il rapporto quantità/prezzo. Eravamo in due. Abbiamo ordinato gambero rosso (risotto con gamberi, stracciatella, asparagi, ecc), e tonno (tagliolini con capperi, tonno, olive taggiasche ecc). Porzioni molto piccole per un prezzo del genere. Sapore? Niente di che purtroppo. Il Risotto non sapeva di niente. Due calici di vino per 24€. Anche il servizio in generale un po' trascurato. Tutto molto di fretta e tempi di attesa anche lunghi (per porzioni piccole ripeto.)

The good: appetizer of cru de te and tuna tataki were very good and fresh and accompanied by perfect sauces. Presentation was always very pretty. It was a strong start and I was very excited to get my food My husband and I got amberjack and the sauces were again perfect and balanced. My friend loved her well done steak. The bad: the amberjack was overcooked and slightly fishy which is bad for 30€. The lamb was very fatty and cut into odd small shapes? Like they weren't round🤷🏻‍♀️ (again the sauces were perfect). I asked the server to split 2 ways and he said to pay up front... Which had a grumpy older lady who just handed me the whole bill? Had to get the guy to fix it. Server didn't smile and didn't say sorry for making us wait for 30 minutes to get our mains after our friends had theirs and we're half done.... How does a well done steak come out 10 minutes before amberjack? I don't mind the place setting fee but the food was overpriced for fishy amberjack and fatty lamb. We spent 200€ between the 4 of us and you can barely act like you want to be our waiter? Don't just silently move plates around. Much better place 6 minute walk away through the tunnel and up a side road a bit called Trattoria Tamanaco.

While I understand other countries do not work for tips, a little bit of kindness goes a long way. We were desperate for food by the time we selected this place and made the mistake of not reading reviews first. While the food was decent, the service was AWFUL - I have never encountered such rude staff somewhere. Everyone who walked in speaking English was almost immediately ignored and treated with disrespect. I understand we are in Italy and knowing some basic Italian is respectful, but this is a tourist town and English speakers seem to be the majority of those that visit. There was clearly a reason the restaurant was almost empty. Our attitude was nothing but kind and friendly, hoping they would see how nice we were and fix their attitude but if anything they became more annoyed the nicer we were. If you want decent food, sure. If you speak English and want to be treated with any amount of respect, avoid this place like the plague.

We went at lunchtime and had 2x pizzas, asked for a spaghetti with no sauce for our little girl and had some waters. €70 later and I had to have a hard look at the receipt to figure out why- turns out they charged us €15 for a small plate of plain spaghetti which probably cost €.50 to make (I get it, not a kids’ restaurant, but come on!) and a further €16 cover charge for I’m not entirely sure what, but maybe it was meant to be a tip? Anyways, pizza was mediocre at-best considering this is Italy.

Mi dispiace dirlo, ma posto davvero sconsigliato. Abbiamo aspettato un’ora per due primi, il servizio veramente pessimo con la cameriera completamente disinteressata a ciò che stava facendo. Entrambi i primi, di bell’aspetto, ma scotti e con poco condimento. 54€ per due primi e un’acqua (del rubinetto) è un prezzo davvero folle. Il coperto 4€ a testa e non c’era nemmeno una tovaglia, le posate messe sul tavolo, cosa tra l’altro poco igienica. Acqua di rubinetto 4€. Prezzi folli, si paga sicuramente solo il fatto di essere nelle cinque terre perché tutto il resto fa acqua da tutte le parti.

Do not go to this restaurant. We have been in Italy for 8 days now and this has been by far the worst restaurant we have gone to and it has unfortunately been the most expensive. My boyfriend and I waited 40 minutes for our second course to come and when it did it was probably the worst dish I’ve ever had. We ordered the fried seafood plater and it must have been fried for that entire 40 minute wait. Almost inedible and we left 80% of the meal on the plate unfinished. Very disappointed. The waitress was also rude and did not seem interested in working at all. She did not ask how our meal was or talk at all if I’m going to be honest. For the price of this restaurant it was very bad and I would not recommend. Please save yourself and do not go here.

I am writing this review to provide constructive criticism to this restaurant. We ordered a spaghetti dish and a pesto pasta dish. The spaghetti was well cooked and had nice flavours, but was severely over-seasoned. It had anchovies and parmigiano cheese in it, and I could not get through half the serving as it was so salty. My friends tried a bite and agreed that they would not be able to finish the plate. In contrast, the pesto dish was under seasoned and was not very flavourful. The wait staff here were perfect. Polite, helpful and welcoming. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice as well: there was nice lighting and we were served a tasty appetiser after ordering. The reason for this being a 1 star review is the unprofessional response from the manager after I provided feedback about the spaghetti. Despite my efforts to be polite, he did not take the criticism well at all and insisted I did not know what I was talking about and that the chef was one of the best in the area. I was not interested in arguing with him so I returned to our table and we prepared to pay and leave. During this time we could hear him in the next room expressing to one of the servers his frustration. He ranted very loudly in Italian; we could not understand what he was saying it definitely did not feel positive. We were given a discount on our bill but the manager did not address us before we left. It made for an extremely uncomfortable experience for my group as well as the wait staff. There was no customer service skills or professionalism displayed by this manager; he took the criticism very personally and was visibly angry within seconds of me talking with him. I hope this is something they will improve upon. Overall, I would recommend the restaurant for its atmosphere and location, however, there is better food to be found in the area.
