Most rolls were within a range of 10-15$ and were extremely tasty. Pictured is the "Jeff Roll," which was fantastic. The spicy tuna roll was also good, but legitimately spicy, so be warned. The food came out very quickly and the service was friendly and straightforward--no fluff or unnecessary small talk. Will definitely come here again.
Probably went here 20 times in the last 5+ years, and to me they are the best sushis and rolls restaurant in Riverside. High quality big rolls, just so fresh and delicious. Always great service and vibes. Thank you, see you next time 🙌
To name of this venue does not do it justice. This is far beyond Ok. I love how they have a sign stating this establishment is not AYCE, which helps avoid that continual question. The food is amazing, from the rolls to the main dishes, but really got me was the service. Our server was continually there throughout the meal, checking up on us and refiling our drinks. Left us with a very positive experience, in an era where good customer service is getting harder to find. Will definitely be back!
I can’t explain how great this sushi is, super fresh and the best we’ve had! And Sam and his crew are incredibly friendly, skilled and accommodating. We live in Florida but come to California a couple times a year and make it a point to come to this place every time at least once or twice a visit.
I like Sushi OK because this restaurant has consistency. To-go pickup or dine-in, they always make my order right. My favorite is their Chirashi bowl and Lunch Bento Specials B. I had an Omakase dinner a few years ago on my birthday, and all the special/deluxe dishes were very delicious! It was not cheap but totally worth it.
Had a wonderful experience and delicious lunch. My husband and I really enjoyed our rolls, we HIGHLY recommend the chef special roll. Even their spider roll so really good too. Our server was very kind, helpful and very attentive.we loved the atmosphere with unique decorations. Will be back!
When you walk in to the right there is this wall that has angelic wings and that was instagramible photo op. The servers are nice and friendly. We got seated right away. It’s wheelchair friendly. The atmosphere was very pretty one side had the Japanese umbrella on the ceilings, another side had twilight lights on the ceiling also. It looked so pretty. Looking at the menu was a little overwhelming. There’s a lot of different types of food. The variety looked so good. The menu had so many pictures and the description was on point. They didn’t have a kids menu for my 5 year old but he eats like an adult and had the appetizer size orange chicken and size of rice. My meal was good, great portion size food. I had the tempura California rolls and BBQ beef ribs which was delicious. I would definitely go back.
If you’re looking for very good Quality and really fresh Seafood, this is the place to go to in Riverside. Sushi and Sashimi at their best!!! Whether you like Fusion or Traditional Style, this place gives you a ton of delicious selections to choose from. This is my 5th time eating here and I’m excited to bring the whole family next time. Great job to the owners and staff👌🏼
I was very impressed with the quality of the of the food and how amazing it looked. The wait staff was very friendly. They are open for reservations only as of today and next week they will be opening up for more indoor dining. The best tasting sushi I've had for a long time. The atmosphere was very quiet and calm. I will definitely be eating here again.
This is the 2nd or 3rd time going to Sushi Ok and it is always wonderful! They are fresh, fast and friendly. Below are photos of the Spider Roll, Takoyaki, Dragon Roll, Mountain Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll, and the Rainbow Roll. All of them are delicious! We received plenty of soy sauce, napkins, wasabi, ginger, and chopsticks to go. Definitely Recommend and will be coming back!
The service was good the food was a good value over all the place was roomy and clean it is also family friendly plenty of parking and good lighting. The lunch specials are good including the bento boxes however you cannot get any of the lunch specials or bento boxes during holidays.
In the competitive landscape of Riverside’s Japanese dining scene, Sushi Ok (located at 5228 Arlington Ave) continues to prove that it is far more than just "OK." As a foodie, I look for consistency and precision, and based on recent tastings, this neighborhood gem is firing on all cylinders. The meal began with the Salmon Carpaccio, a masterclass in balance. The salmon itself was of exceptional quality—rich, fatty, and possessing a luxurious, buttery texture that practically melted upon contact. What elevated the dish, however, was the sauce; it offered a zesty, refreshing acidity that cut through the richness of the fish without masking its natural sweetness. It’s an essential starter for anyone who appreciates the delicate interplay of citrus and sashimi. Moving into the more creative territory of their "Chef Fusion" menu, the Chef’s Special Roll remains a standout. Many sushi bars struggle with over-saucing their signature rolls, leading to a soggy texture that collapses under its own weight. Sushi Ok avoids this pitfall entirely. The sauce was applied with deliberate restraint, allowing the roll to maintain a firm, satisfying consistency. Structurally, the roll is a success, but flavor-wise, it’s even better. The inclusion of Sriracha and fresh jalapeño provides a sharp, vibrant kick that lingers just long enough to be exciting without overwhelming the palate. The spicy tuna inside was clean and well-seasoned, serving as the perfect foundation for the heat above. Whether you are stopping in for a casual lunch or a dedicated sushi night, Sushi Ok delivers high-quality ingredients with thoughtful preparation. The decor—complete with its signature Japanese umbrellas and warm lighting—provides an inviting backdrop for what is arguably some of the most consistent sushi in the Inland Empire.
I wanted to give a middle-of-the-road review for Sushi OK because not everything was bad. My three sons and I ate here after moving the oldest into his dorm at UCR on Saturday. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is really cool and we liked the vibe! We each ordered three different rolls to try and wondered "what is soy mustard sauce?" as each one had that listed (as well as nearly all the other rolls on the menu). We decided to try it. All three rolls came with spicy tuna inside and that's it...no variations were really available such as DFS, crab mix, etc which was a bummer. All three rolls were drenched in soy mustard sauce which I can only liken to yuzu sauce mixed with dijon mustard--unsettling flavor for sushi! It overpowered the fish and was all we could taste. Very citrusy, tangy, and strong! Being a Japanese woman and raising my kids to appreciate and indulge in Japanese cuisine at home and around California, I know my way around sushi. This was different--it is a fusion type style with some other ethnic influence that I do not know. I don't recommend for anyone who appreciates authentic sushi and wants the flavors of the fish more than sauces. This is a great recommendation for someone who is dabbling in sushi and wants to try an Americanized other type of sushi. My second qualm was the price--very overpriced for the quality. The rolls were loosely rolled and, as I mentioned, the flavor was off. A roll being approx $25 is wild--and we are from Sacramento where everything is overpriced! Typical pricing for regular rolls is $17-20. $25 is reserved for specialty rolls including lobster and other more expensive cuts, not spicy tuna and sauces. My last qualm was the service. We were not greeted or helped for a few minutes as we stood awkwardly staring at other diners waiting to be acknowledged. We were not spoken to and just ushered to a table and given menus. We were checked on about 10 minutes later. Maybe longer. Our waitress never came back to check on us again after our order was delivered to the table--we had empty drinks (needed more to wash down the soy mustard flavor!!), empty dishes, etc the entire time we ate. At the end, a gentleman came over asking if we wanted ice cream on the house but I said no thank you and asked for the bill. It was $120 for the four of us to eat a subpar meal and sadly, it was our last meal with my oldest son before dropping him off and heading back home to Sacramento. I was hoping for something amazing based on the reviews. For fun, I had my other son read all the 1-2 star reviews on our drive home to see what others were saying in the mix--spot on!! Read thoroughly to get a clear idea of what you're getting. This is the longest review I've ever left for an establishment, so that's saying a lot.
3.5 stars The sashimi was decent overall. I didn’t end up using the wasabi, though in hindsight it probably would have enhanced the flavor a bit. The service felt a little unusual — the servers came across as serious and somewhat strict, which made the experience feel less relaxed than expected. That said, the interior is beautiful and warm, creating a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, the lack of finesse in both service and execution makes this sushi spot feel just okay rather than memorable.
