Went here yesterday for a Valentines’s Day dinner with my wife and the food was awesome! I even tried their rabbit soup and that also tasted good! I was very skeptical because I never had rabbit before, but texture wise it was almost similar to roast beef. The food overall was very good. Their poutine fries were amazing, also ordered a burger and that was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was and would definitely come back again.
We sat by the window and got a beautiful view of the water. The food and the service was fantastic!
Good food, good service... BEST drink I've ever had!!! Coconut Bunny Breeze ...so yummy! 😋
I have to tell this story because the bartender may never find a voice to the amazingness I witnessed. There was a group of women behind the Mayors Corner having a great time. After leaving the bartender ( a gorgeous and funny "human"). Busses the tables and walking towards the kitchen with a stack of dishes to her chin has a slight slip from a quick reaction to avoid someone passing. I Stand here willing to testify before congress. This Incredible Spiderwoman has plates bowls glass n all in EVERY SINGLE DIRECTION sliding n flopping about, managed to somehow effortlessly coral everything but a single fork. Forget Edward Cullen and the stupid apple. This lady needs a call from the great Professor Xavier to test her limits. Also amazing place. First time there n I'll absolutely be back to see Rocester's very own neighborhood friendly spiderwoman. I wish I knew her name. But hey you aren't intended to know the super heros real names anyways am I right.
Wanted to check this place out for a while now and managed to stop in on a Thursday, it was pretty busy and the bartender was managing the bar and the tables and she was doing a phenomenal job, for 1 person with that many patrons we never went without! Of course we had to try the rabbit stew and that was very good we all agreed we would order that again. The drinks we sampled were all made to taste and were reasonable in price, our entrees came out pretty quick and everything we had was pretty tasty and at very reasonable prices. Would recommend this restaurant as a quick bite with good eats and a view!
Lilly is an absolute sweetheart. Truly one of the best bartenders you'll ever meet. And Reggie makes lunch feel like you're just hanging with a good friend.
It was ladies night out plus a bebe. Kelly, our waitress was patient, nice and accommodating. Thank you! Only recommendation would be to announce Happy Hour specials right away.
We came for a late lunch today. Wanted try somewhere new for us. It was FANTASTIC! When I tell you the poutine ROC style was out of this world. Why have I never thought of this! The fries were crispy, bacon crispy and the queso and hot sauce has perfect amount of heat. Chicken tenders were hot and fresh. The buffalo salad had the freshest veggies! 100% I will be back.
Delicious food! I got the romaine salad with beer-battered chicken and avocado, with strawberry vinaigrette. I would absolutely get it again. Next time I wouldn't get avocado, as it wasn't very good, but the rest of the salad made up for it x100. The chicken was really really good, and I wish there was more of it for the $5 price point. My table shared a couple desserts and I would definitely recommend the carrot cake. Our server, Lilliana, was very friendly. Would love to come here again!
Drinks were delicious. Food was superb. Love their pizza, always crispy and the sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The Korean sesame wings were very flavorful, we ordered them extra crispy and they didn’t disappoint. The restaurant was packed for an event and holiday weekend & staff was attentive and fast.
Great service, the server was amazing. Very clean, neat atmosphere. The view of the river is fantastic ; with the breeze on the right day makes this the perfect spot for lunch, brunch, dinner or just drinks! My burger was cooked perfectly, it was so good! Will be returning to try more things of the great and diverse menu. The drinks were also great ! 5star experience
First time here visiting my son at RIT. walked in without a reservation and was told a 30ish min wait yet there were a few available tables and a couple others that required cleaning. We grabbed a beer and wine at the bar to wait. The beer taps fill from the bottom so that was interesting. We were finally sat after they set up for Silent Disco that night 40 min later. Once sat we were greated and served in a fully acceptable way from start to finish so no issues there. We all decided to get the same pizza which was a special Pizza of the Day (P.O.D.). It was Philly cheese steak but we got it without peppers so hence the missing appetizing color in my photo. All in all besides the awkward wait (maybe from being short staffed like may other restaurant reviews in the Rochester area) it was a decent experience.
We went to the Rabbit Hole Tavern for the first time and was excited because we heard great things. However, it was kind of a let down - our waiter was very friendly and the drinks were as expected. We ordered the Thai Shrimp and it was honestly awful, it tasted like they warmed up cocktail shrimp in the microwave and drizzled some siracha. honestly would’ve been better served cold. I did get the fish fry which was absolutely massive and I was very impressed, no complaints there. my boyfriend ordered the pork belly chunks and the waiter asked what sauce he wanted and he told her, however, when he received the chunks there was no sauce. When he asked the waiter she said it did not come with sauce. At that point we just took the loss and went about our meal. The atmosphere was okay, however we were right by the bar and dance area and it was so loud I could hardly hear - they should close off the dining space a little more from the DJ area. Overall it was an alright experience, I would give this place another try.
I had lunch here so I’m only sharing my experience from that! Sitting by the river was amazing. Loved that. Menu was great. Food was really good the Reuben came with no 1000 island dressing which was disappointing. That’s either a mistake or don’t order it. Service was severely lacking. Took us over an hour to eat. Ordered a Pepsi and service was so bad I wasn’t even able to get a refill. Better service would have greatly improved the experience here. If you are looking for outdoor eating on a nice day this is an option.
Went here with a group of 4, just before 1 on a Saturday. Pretty busy but not insane, there was not a wait to get a table. Waited just short of an hour to get our food. Waitress didn’t check on us once without being flagged down. They brought out 2 of our 4 meals earlier than the other 2, which I thought was odd. Waitress said she’d be right back with the other 2 and then didn’t come back with them for 10 minutes. The food was good. They kinda messed up my order but it was still pretty tasty, I got the buffalo chicken sandwich. The side of fries was pretty small. Overall just a pretty bad experience. And no one offered to comp any part of the meal or really apologize about the wait either. I won’t be back.
Walked in and walked out quickly afterwards. Why ? Let me count the ways ….. First the smell - Smelled like a 500 pound urinal cake the stench was overwhelming. Second the lighting. Had all the ambiance of a surgical theater despite being late evening. Third the sound. Had all the ambiance of a food court in a mall- loud - echoing and unpleasant. Could not bear the thought of sticking around for dinner and cocktails.
When me and my family had arrived the place wasn’t very lively, but that was fine for the moment. We ordered our food and it felt like it took forever for two hotdogs, some chicken nuggets, and some salads. The hotdogs didn’t look that great. The chicken nuggets looked small and looked something like Walmart chicken nuggets. And the salad I had gotten was fine, but the grilled chicken tasted somewhat dry and felt hard to swallow. Our server was also horrible. I can’t recall his name, but he barely came to our table. We had spent probably 30 minutes trying to flag him down or waiting for him to come by. He went to other tables nearby but hardly even glanced at our table. As someone who doesn’t live in New York, I would say this place definitely could’ve had better food and a better atmosphere.
My family and I (a party of 13, comprising a mix of adults, teenagers, and children) decided to try Rabbit Hole Tavern tonight. We were excited — we hadn’t all been out together in a long time, and the good reviews made us want to try it. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve had. The appetizers were good, but there weren’t many to choose from. Once the entrées came out, it went downhill fast. Half of our table received the wrong orders; some dishes came with ingredients we had explicitly asked to be removed, and others contained items we never requested. Additionally, my niece and nephew were the last to receive their meals, which was long after everyone else had already started eating. We ended up sharing our food with them so they wouldn’t sit there hungry. The tipping point was my mom’s meal. She ordered a garbage plate (a Rochester native), and after a few bites, she pushed it aside — the meat was cold and tasted old. She asked to have it taken off the bill and declined ordering anything else. The waitress said she would ask. My sister ordered the same plate and agreed the meat tasted off, but she was hungry enough to deal with it. (Everyone is different) When the bill came, the plate was still on there. We asked why, and the waitress said, “Well, there wasn’t anything wrong with it. Plates are supposed to be cold.” I’m sorry, what? No — an entire garbage plate is NOT supposed to be cold. And even if she believed that, she should’ve mentioned it being declined before handing us the bill. No manager ever came over to address the issue, either, which was even more disappointing. We paid and left — only to have the waitress run out into the parking lot, (alone I might add - which is insane and quite the safety issue) saying they had messed up the bill and forgotten to charge us for the appetizers. So my dad had to go back inside to pay again, being taxed twice for their mistake. Given the number of issues we experienced, they should have honestly comped something and taken this as a learning opportunity on how to handle large groups and customers who aren't satisfied with the food. I don’t think the waitress was trying to be rude entirely — she just seemed overwhelmed and out of her depth. A table of our size should’ve had two servers, not one. Overall, the food was lacking in seasoning and had a bland flavor. If that’s your thing, you might like it, but we’ve been to plenty of bar-and-grille-style spots, and this wasn’t even close. We won’t be back.
Ive never felt more compelled to write a review. Went in to check it out. Was completely dead in there. Saw the prices and had second thoughts. Decided to just order the cheese pizza. It was the absolute worse pizza ive had. 17 dollars for gas station quality. Im not talking about fast Track or speedway pizza. Like the cornerstore gas station pizza.
