Always fast friendly service the meals are huge you can share a plate with the kids.

Came in on a busy Saturday morning, and was sat quickly and promptly! I ordered the steak and eggs and was given very large portions. Shout out to Donny at Black Bear Roseville. Due to what we'd asked, we were placed in the front of the restaurant, which was aces given my son has special needs, and we're still teaching him how to act in establishments. Trick was apparently we weren't in anyone's radar in terms of servers. Donny saw us and picked us up. He was more than accommodating with our requests, and he was patient with both the kids as they were learning how to order. Overall, we had a great time, and I have no problem recommending the Black Bear just down the hill from Bayside Adventure.

Hadn't been to a Black Bear in many years due to a bad experience, but I gave it another shot, and I'm so glad I did because this location changed my mind! The restaurant was impeccable (even the restroom). Our server was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely enthusiastic about ensuring we had a great experience. And of course, the food was delicious! Definitely going back!!!

I had a hankering for a yummy salad and knew Black Bear wouldn't disappoint! I had the crispy chicken cobb salad. That came fully loaded. So much so I barely made a dent and had plenty to still take home.

Stopped by on my way to TVC and I gotta say Missy was outstanding! and I dont believe I’ve seen a black bear this clean. The hobo was plentiful and delicious. A lot of new faces, and if they all take care of you like Missy did, then you will not be disappointed! Thank you Missy, will definitely be coming back!

The manager(didn’t catch his name) there with glasses was the sweetest and most caring person who talked to us. Even gave my toddler a little butterfly because he was crying. Let alone it was Mother’s Day and gave us some flowers to take home. Best experience ever! Would recommend to everyone!

Very Polite, kind, quick and accurate. Either I was very hungry or the food was Really good. In the middle of eating we had to fend off a stray 6 foot tall Black Bear that wanted my sausage. See attached pictures for proof of encounter. Other then having a Bear walking around restaurant was exceptionally clean and well kept. One more thing that seems to be an issue lately. Temperature was inside was perfect. Not cold like most places seem to be.

The waitress was outstanding. The food was very good, also it was nice and hot, and the portions were "enough for a bear". Nice to take it for later. Our son and daughter-in-law were staying in a hotel before she went in for surgery the next morning. The leftovers came in handy. We will return.

Nikole was our waitress on our delightful trip to black bear diner tonight, we came for pie and Christmas treats to continue our Christmas experience after getting our tree, and Nikole added a very jolly atmosphere to our visit, she was kind, fun, and interactive making me very happy and excited for our next visit, she deserves a 10 trillion dollar raise, literally! Now I’m only 13, but I know what I mean, Nikole was the star on my tree tonight and I hope to come again soon and see her on our next visit! (My parents let me fill this out for them! I love Black Bear Diner. An older couple were playing Rummy at the table across from us. It was so nice I wished I had brought my dominoes and cards to play too. Stopped in here for dinner tonight and was very happy with everything! From the meal to the service it was excellent. I ordered the Rueben sandwich on rye and it was very good! Corned beef was cooked great and went perfect with the sauerkraut and dressing on rye. My wife had an omelet and said it was very good as well. Kids loved their sliders. The service was great. Seated as soon as we entered. Waitress took our order and had drinks and food both to our table very quickly and made sure our cups were not empty! I will definitely recommend to anyone in the area and will be back myself!

The hash browns are delicious! It was really good breakfast and the service was ok, but the restrooms were dirty and out of paper hand towels.

Overall this is a good restaurant, specifically for breakfast, but it's just missing that pizazz that so many other breakfast restaurants have around here. The food is okay, just not mind-blowing. I got the breakfast burrito which was large, but could have used a sauce of some kind as it was a bit dry. The portions are huge though. Expect to go home with boxes. The service is also stellar. The restaurant is well decorated and really makes you feel like your eating in some mountain cabin. And they have a bear mascot that walks around and interacts with the kids, definitely exciting for them!

If you have never eaten dinner at Black Bear Diner, you should give the Pot Roast a try. It is delicious. The Ruben is really good as well. Yumm.

We had Diana as our server and she was the sweetest. I don’t know if she noticed my two toddlers running my life or if she is just a social super star with kids, but either way she paused a couple mom crash outs. This was our first time! Friendly front staff. We were seated right away at 930am in a Saturday. The food was great! See pictures. The service was slow. Our server forgot to bring our biscuits with the coffee and also a to go box and did not bring the bill. But other than that... great place!

Tuesday night and there were only a few people in the restaurant. We got seated right away. They put us right next to the juke box which was a bit loud, but the music was good. Everything was better than expected. Safe distance, clean tables, friendly service. Low on the staffing but all customers in the diner appeared to be understanding and patient. Food tasted great. Our server was awesome. Other servers checked in on us which was nice. Food was good. No complaints from the kids. They are VERY picky so that says a lot about how much they enjoyed it. There were no to-go containers for them. Will visit again when in the area 👍

The biscuits and gravy tasted like it was made by someone who doesn't like biscuits and gravy. The gravy's flour wasn't cooked through so it tasted only of flour and the biscuit crowns were too brown. They gotta split the biscuit and pour gravy on the fluff and not the crown.

We sat there waiting for our check for over 30 minutes. We tried to wave her down multiple times, but couldn't catch her attention. I will never eat here again. Ive been twice in the last 3 months and both times I didnt eat my food. Bears choice breakfast: scrambled eggs, biscuits gravy, once I ordered sausage links and once sausage patty. Doesnt matter, all gross. The sausage patty is fatty, soft balls mashed together. Went for lunch today and was expecting the same great service and food. Well it was far from what I expected. I ordered pancakes (my favorite thing there), and they were 1/2 the size I expected. The flavor was bland, and were thin. Don't know how you can mess a pancake up. My friend ordered the chicken fried steak and it was ok but the gravy was flavorless and no sausage was in it. Customer service needs a lot of working on. Definitely need a new chef, new manager (male with glasses) , and a different employee to take the lady spot who takes orders.The first time they messed up on my order. I had asked for the Joe hobo with no pork substitute for chicken sausage. I ended up getting pork and regular chicken in my omelette. I was able to get it remade but with a nasty attitude on the side from the male manager with glasses. Couple of days later, I order again and my food burnt and I get regular burnt chicken instead of chicken sausage once again. Decided to just let it be, pick the burnt off and told myself not to come back to this location. And I haven’t since then. Also, the food quality here is not that great at all.

My recent experience at Black Bear Diner Roseville was extremely disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the service was unprofessional and unwelcoming. The issue was not the entire staff, but specifically the employee who attended our table. He was noticeably rude, dismissive, and inattentive. Simple requests were met with eye-rolling and short, unfriendly responses. It honestly felt like we were inconveniencing him just by ordering food. What made the situation worse was the complete absence of a manager. When we asked to speak with someone in charge, we were told there wasn’t one available. There was no accountability and no effort to resolve our concerns. A restaurant can survive a small mistake, but it cannot survive poor customer service and a lack of leadership. Unfortunately, this visit left a very negative impression, and I would not recommend this location to anyone expecting basic courtesy and professionalism.

saw an ad on facebook for a $11.99 steak and egg special, so i called and asked if they were still honoring it, and the gentleman who answered said yes. so we went and also asked our waitress if they were honoring that price and she said yes. when we got our bill, it was $14.99/each. we asked to speak to the manager who proceeded to say they were no longer honoring that price due to new management, a complete bait and switch. the food was good, but the service was unacceptable. we instead, received a free pie.
