Peet's Coffee

Visited the area 2 months ago and was helped out by a lovely barista named Denise. Shes very amicable/helpful, and addressed all of my concerns. Drink was delicious!

I have to thank Mark. He has to be the star of Peet's coffee at this location. I lost my wallet in the men's room- it had all my id and a considerable amount of money as well in it and he returned it to me the way he found it! I hugged him twice! What a wonderful Man! He renewed my faith in mankind. Best of everything to you, Mark and May you live long and prosper! And the same to Peets!

The San Carlos Peet's is like the neighborhood living room -- lots of regulars, great place to sit and chat over good coffee. The staff is friendly and responsive and do their best to keep the line moving (it sometimes goes out the door). Dairy-free people will be happy to know there is almond and coconut milk. If only there were more than one decaf variety of coffee (and if they only served it all day!). They recently updated their two bathrooms to make them gender neutral and they're always clean, but there aren't any baby changing tables.

I love Peet’s coffee; this place is very cozy. The amazing atmosphere allows you to feel as comfortable and relaxed as if you are on vacation. I prefer the Havana cappuccino here, with a light taste of cinnamon. Try it once, and you will never forget this delightful taste of life itself.

Never ever, and I mean ever, not go here, this place is way too awesome. These are absolutely terrific people. The current baristas and staff truly know how to make genuinely good and well crafted coffee. The service is top notch if you ask me, I think the service is fantastic. A welcoming vibe when you walk in, and an authentic, alternative and charismatic staff make all of the difference. I hope that the current staff that is providing great service as of recently get raises and that the current and new customers tip cash when they know that they are getting good coffee or great service or both. I hope to see more coffee shops with this kind of atmosphere and staffing more often. I am just warning you, about how amazing these people are, I can’t handle it, I can feel myself craving Peet’s coffee again, this is, well, interesting to say the least. Is this healthy? Probably.

I have orderd that same drink several times since and have not had one come close! I believe it was on 7/4, the 4th... (near close) I will not continue to order a dissapointing $$$ cup of coffee that will not be near the same! Thank you Cecelia...♡♡♡!!!

Great cappuccino, great hot chocolate ( get a kids size if you want smaller than small and ask them to little extra hot milk). Croissant was pretty good and so was banana nut bread and coffee cinnamon swirl. Quite a lot of space to sit inside as well as outside. Would really recommend this one. The staff at this one seem happy and nice.

A nice stop to meet with friends and catch up. It is more a neighborhood Peet's so they usually remember the local's drink. One time there was a blackout, they let us stay to finish our coffee before they closed shop. That was very appreciated.

This is the most comfortable Peet's location on the peninsula. I like that they have this large convenient big wood table that you could sit there and work or converse with your friends and enjoy a cup of coffee in a nice atmosphere. Not to mention that they play great music in the background and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this location in San Carlos

Love their vegan morning glory muffin. Other items I’m not a big fan, bc I’m very picky.

This is the most comfortable Peet's location on the peninsula. Nice location. I like sitting here drinking tea when taking a break from shopping or walking my dog. The tea used to be much better. The staff here is usually quite good.

This is my first choice location for atmosphere, and espesso coffee. However, I am now finding it harder every time to put up with what appears to be the same type of repetetive, boring music of a style that is completely out of kilter to anything the patrons are likely to enjoy. That music seems to have been repeated each time I visit over the past 4 weeks. .. It reminds me of the identical class/type of music that gyms pump out at much louder volume to gym patrons who nowadays have ear buds/phones, and their own music to drown out a music selection/volume not wanted by those gym patrons. I suggest the Peets music volume is fine but there needs to be a much greater music range and away from that currently in favour with the Peets location.

Peet's is somewhere between Starbucks and great coffee. 3 star coffee + 1 because their teas (Mighty Leaf) are excellent. This location is similar to any other Peet's and is conveniently in downtown San Carlos with good El Camino access.

Good food, and a really nice store. Sadly though just getting a cup of coffee took a few minutes, unlike Starbucks which gives it to you right away. The scone I got was really good, and after getting the coffee it was pretty good.

Quite honestly probably one of the more consistent peet's for coffee drinks. After the pandemic a lot of the stores are pretty inconsistent especially on things like cappuccino but this one is pretty much always on point with their drinks.

I have always been a fan of Peet's Coffee. Some Peet's in the mid peninsula have lost their appeal. This Peet's still has friendly staff and consistent quality drinks.

Not my favorite among the big coffee chains, but staff and ample seating make up for it at this particular cafe. Pre-pandemic, this Peet's was THE spot in downtown San Carlos in the mornings. They had a lot of indoor seating, plus an outdoor patio with 4-5 tables, and it would be mostly full through lunch time. Now only the outdoor patio is open, though it seems that more indoor seating will slowly be coming back. Staff has always been extremely friendly and professional, and the WiFi is good. One complaint: They need to turn down the AC in the summer - you need a jacket to sit inside on any warm day.

Nice atmosphere, lots of comfortable seating inside and out. Good selection of goodies to eat. Wish their dark roast was darker and had more of that deep flavor I crave.

I got an iced vanilla latte and is was so good and very creamy! However, it was not sweet, like at all, when I first sipped it, so I had to ask for more vanilla. Regardless, coffee flavor was bright and unique.

Friendly neighborhood coffee shop well located in the center of downtown San Carlos. Pretty much your standard Peet's. Update: Oh Peet's! You changed your decor to match Starbucks. Perhaps you should change your name to, "Peet's Coffee brought to you by Starbucks"

I enjoy peets enough and come here because its very close to my work. They have a good attitude here and the atmosphere is nice, chocolate croissants are great. Can't ask for much more EXCEPT, they do not know coffee. Asking for blonde or lighter roast the manager on deck 'informed' me that blonde roasts are "just watered down and less flavorful versions of dark roast". I was appalled. Blonde coffee is a lighter roast procedure with (usually) higher caffeine content. Their medium is ok but too thick/grainy tasting conpared to what i was looking for, and I wanted something stronger without adding espresso shots. Blonde coffee is NOT 'less flavor' but has a subtler, less bitter 'robust coffee flavor' than dark roast has. Today i asked for a blonde roast again and was told "no, thats starbucks" - i find this very odd and disappointing for a coffee shop. I understand peets never made a trade deal for dank blonde roast beans but as a coffee enthusiast i find myself still wanting after visiting peets. :)

Really not impressed with anything other than the decor. The blended coffee I bought had coffee beans blended in it (this is the way they actually do it). The people working the counter were not excited to be there and were in a conversation when I walked up, that they finished while I stood there. I will go once more and try a more normal coffee drink. To be continued.

I am an international visitor who went here with a friend. There was no display of cup size & the girl at the counter spoke very fast. I was forced to ask her to repeat herself a couple of times. I wanted a flat white & it took time for her to understand what I wanted. I asked for a very hot coffee which I did not get. I had to take it back. The coffee had a satisfying taste & the cinnamon roll my friend had & brownie I enjoyed were good accompaniments.

It's Peet's. If you like slightly over roasted dark coffee you'll love it. The place and atmosphere is great, but I can't give a 5 star rating because I didn't prefer their coffee. I end up their sometimes because the wifey tends to enjoy their tea.

Why ask my name if u dont call out my name with the order?? Annoyed my coffee didnt even have a cap that fit!!!I should have just ordered a hot coffee instead. Love the banana bead tho!! Customer service is definitely different than Starbucks...

Maybe the slowest Peet's on the planet. Frequently understaffed, especially on peak mornings like Saturdays. Long lines as a result. Lots of other fine coffee choices on Laurel Ave.

Ordered a latte and an Arnold Palmer, waited for over 20min, no sign of my drinks and then when I asked the staffed they simply said: they called and someone took it. They replaced the Arnold Palmer almost right away and it took them another 15min for the latte.. at this point we don’t even feel like having the drinks anymore and wasted out time.

I witnessed a deplorable scene, the manager being arrogant and authoritarian with a delivery that left something there. Terrible. People like that shouldn't work with the public . I even like the coffee , but they should select better people to work with

Ordered my drink and waited for at least 40 minutes and still no drink. They said they were backed up. I couldn't wait any longer and had to leave because I had an appointment. I paid for this drink that I never got. I am very unhappy about what happened.

I forgot why I had stopped coming here.. This place is super slow! Like really really slow! Takes 25-30 mins to get your drink sometimes 😩 & that’s with mobile ordering… I should have gone to the Belmont location!
