I had an amazing time at Dorothy’s! The atmosphere is so much more than just a wine bar. It’s cozy, beautifully decorated, and offers a great variety of wines. I didn’t want to leave! The owners, Luis and Tim, are incredibly friendly and hospitable, which gives the place such a unique and welcoming vibe. I first heard about Dorothy’s through some friends visiting San Diego over Thanksgiving, so I decided to check it out with my own friends—and I absolutely loved it! This is the kind of place that’s perfect for making memories. I can’t wait to bring more friends, enjoy some wine, and hang out on that gorgeous patio.
Loved my visit to this cute and whimsical wine bar! The wines were excellent and the owners were very knowledgeable and super friendly. I especially loved all the decor details throughout the space. I’d love to come back for a game night! Definitely recommend for a relaxed hang with friends.
Dorthys Wine Bar is a true hidden gem! Great ambiance, an outstanding wine selection, and delicious small plates that pair perfectly. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and makes every visit feel special. Highly recommend for wine lovers!
My first time in san diego and this evening was the highlight. Very cool vibe, welcoming people, great wine and experience!
This is a must try if you’re in the area. They made ordering wine (which can sometimes feel unapproachable and stuffy) so fun and accessible. The vibe is awesome. I kept saying I felt like I was in my coolest friend’s apartment. A great, unfussy spot to stop in and catch up with a friend.
Dorothy’s Wine Bar is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels intimate, artistic, and effortlessly inviting. The outdoor patio is especially charming — the perfect place to be with a glass or two or a bottle 😁of wine and enjoy the life. What truly makes Dorothy’s stand out is the thoughtfully curated wine list, featuring unique selections from around the world. Each bottle feels intentional and distinctive, offering something exciting whether you’re a seasoned wine lover or simply in the mood to discover something new. The menu of curated bites and snacks complements the wines beautifully. Every small plate feels carefully selected to enhance the experience — simple, elevated, and full of flavor. Dorothy’s Wine Bar blends global taste, cozy ambiance, and refined yet approachable style. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again just like I do.🍷✨
I had such a great experience at Dorothy’s Wine Bar in Seaport Village during the holidays. The outdoor seating is absolutely wonderful. It’s spacious, comfortable patio seating located inside the courtyard of The Headquarters. They offer an extensive and thoughtfully curated wine menu with so many options from different regions and makers. Luis and his staff was incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming. He shared the stories behind the makers of various wines and made the whole tasting experience feel personal and fun. I was able to sample a few wines until I found my favorite one, and they happily helped me discover it without any rush. Every Sunday they have live music on the patio, which added to the already beautiful ambience. I’d recommend checking their Instagram for info. The delicious Mediterranean plate was the perfect complement to the wine. Fresh, flavorful, and generous enough to be easily shared amongst others. It felt like a true neighborhood gem tucked inside Seaport Village. I highly recommend Dorothy’s Wine Bar for anyone looking for quality wine, friendly service, and a peaceful escape in the heart of San Diego. I’ll definitely be back! Paid parking, valet and street parking available. If it’s a super busy weekend at Seaport Village, parking may be hard to find. Oh, and don’t forget to check out the cool art gallery next door!
Dorothy’s was absolutely incredible. The staff were warm, genuine, and seriously knowledgeable about wine — not in a pretentious way, but in that “I actually love this stuff and want to help you find what you like” kind of way. The whole space has this mellow, comforting ambiance that honestly reminded me of the Friends coffee shop vibe… except upgraded for adults with wine instead of lattes. Soft lighting, cozy seating, a relaxed hum in the background — it’s the kind of place you can just settle into for hours. Perfect for a date, perfect for catching up with a friend, perfect for unwinding solo. Truly the best combo of chill comfort and high-caliber drink knowledge I’ve seen in San Diego.
I had the most phenomenal time at this wine bar. From the decor to the ambiance, it’s a dream. The owner is so kind and gave great suggestions for pairings and what to order. Will definitely come back again!
Went here a few times during my stay in San Diego and absolutely loved it. Professional team, they give me good advices on the wines they have. Some food options to enjoy the wine. Especially the Sunday stood out for me, they have live music, it was just the best Sunday funday I had. Calm, good vibes.
Just the cutest, coziest lil wine bar you’ll find in SD! Great selection of wines with interesting varietals from all over the world. Happy hour from 3-6 every day too!
Such a cool spot, the owner Luis is the most amazing guy and you're gonna love him more the wine! Speaking of their wine selection is incredible as well as their food . It's kinda hidden in a touristy area, but is a a gem for seaport village, definitely worth the visit!
Luis’s place is so beautiful! And our drinks were great. Came here for wine and cocktails, stayed for the ambiance. A great Sunday Evening.
As a San Diego local, I’ve been to countless bars, lounges, and restaurants across the city (no I'm not an alcoholic, I just love experiences), and I can honestly say this one stands out among the very best. It’s not just another spot to grab a drink—it’s an experience. Tucked away in Seaport Village and just steps from the marina, the location itself is unbeatable. You’re surrounded by ocean breezes, views of the waterfront, and the kind of coastal charm that makes you feel like you’re truly in the heart of San Diego. Ask for Nelly, Luis, or Tim, you won't be disappointed... The vibe inside is warm (not in an hot gross way) and inviting, striking the right balance between upscale and relaxed. It’s the kind of place that works for any occasion; you can come with friends to laugh over happy hour, or bring a date and enjoy the cozy, intimate setting that sets the stage for a memorable evening. The atmosphere manages to feel lively without being overwhelming, and there’s a sense of attention to detail that makes the experience feel elevated. Whether you’re sipping a cocktail, sharing small plates, or just soaking in the experience, it’s easy to see why this place leaves such a strong impression. It’s versatile, dependable, and effortlessly stylish; the type of spot you’ll want to return to again and again. Simply put, this isn’t just one of the better places in San Diego—it’s one of the best.

Cutest little wine bar with delicious wines and great service. Location is awesome and vibes are on point. I wish I could come here everyday! Highly recommend.
This wine bar is second to none. The ambience, the staff, the wine, the food.. all of it makes for an amazing evening in San Diego. Its steps from the water and just feels like home. The owners are the most friendly people you could ever ask for and treat you like family. The way they care for their staff, customers and even their plants is evident. You can tell a true foodie curated the menu, which is so important when pairing with a good wine. The happy hour menu prices blew my mind.. felt like we were robbing them. Overall a 10/10 experience and I will definitely be back.
