After visiting the best dentist office DSF Dr. joseph in SF. We tried Maru Sushi, it's just one minute away from our dental office. It's not the expensive kind of luxury sushi restaurant. It's more like a 7-11 kind of daily meal sushi restaurant around your house corner in Japan everywhere. The price is very friendly. Service is decent. Food is delicious. Sapporo on tap is superb. I always passing by when I was on a cable car riding the hills. Finally get to try it. Will come back.

Everytime. I mean every. single. time. I'm in SFO, I always stop at Maru. Awesome fish quality. Pretty varied menu and special fish offerings every now and again.

Delicious dinner combo! A good deal, comes with salad, rice, yummy miso soup for a cold San Francisco night. I chose spicy tuna roll and tofu teriyaki as the main and they were both excellent! Will be back next time we’re in town.

Family and I went on a Monday, so the place was almost empty. I ordered the Bento Box w/ 3 items. The portions were just enough to make me satisfied, but not enough to take some to-go. I do not recall which three items I chose, but it is worth noting that you aren't allowed any duplicate items. I also ordered some dragon rolls. A lot of the menu options comes with white rice, salad, and miso soup. The food was delicious. We had a lady serve us and she was very quick to clear our table. I've never seen service that quick. I'd pick up the last sushi roll and she's there to take the plate off our table. I'd finish my miso soup and she's already there to take the bowl. The place was empty, so that could be the reason, but it was still fun to watch. Our table was already cleared before we even paid! I would come back here the next time I come back to San Francisco.

Being close to the hotel, we accidentally across this cafe to find a place for brunch. The service was quick and super friendly. The food was great and the atmosphere was a vibe (highly recommend the pomegranate mimosa!) Being that it was thanksgiving, the decorations were a nice touch. A few days later after exploring the beautiful city we needed a place for dinner quite late, after a quick Google search we found Roxanne’s was open so we ran back for a quick meal. As per the last time, it was very friendly, attentive and quick service. The food was great and felt like the home cooked meal we needed. The decorations had changed for Christmas, it was cold outside, the lighting was a mood and the music was just added to the atmosphere. I would highly recommend trying Roxanne’s and I would like to thank them for really giving my partner and I, a memory we’ll never forget. We both can’t wait to come back again.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Roxanne’s Cafe on Powell & Bush, and I’m delighted to say it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we felt warmly welcomed by the staff — friendly, attentive and genuinely engaged, which set the tone for the whole meal. (Other guests too mention how the staff “cannot do enough for you” and remember regulars by name.) We visited for breakfast, and the menu offered a great variety — classic comfort-food brunch items done well. We opted for the French toast stuffed with berries & cream cheese and the eggs Benedict. The portions were generous and satisfying, and everything tasted freshly prepared. This place is fantastic. I highly recommend the California breakfast. The portion is huge, and it tastes absolutely delicious. We went there two times for breakfast, and every time was amazing. The view is great too, every now and then, you see this cable cars passing by, which makes the atmosphere even lovelier.

I was pleasantly surprised by how warm and welcoming it felt. The menu is classic but done really well, with plenty options to start the day. The drink options made the meal even better. The coffee and Matcha option were my favorite. The service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere had that cozy neighborhood café charm.

We walked up two blocks from Union square on Powell street. We walked into this cute little Cafe looking restaurant, not expecting anything too good. (just because it's tourist area) Happy hour, $15 for Burger and Beer (WHAT?!?) We don't drink so we asked if we can get any other drink and the server, who was super nice about it, said we can choose any drinks out of drink menu. We chose Matcha strawberries, and oh my, it turned out to be one of the best Matcha I've had it served. I can tell they use high grade Matcha and she made it so perfectly without over dosing sugar. Hamburger was really good, they didn't use any special sauce, and just showcase with the 'good meat'. I had it medium and I was very happy with it. We've order brussels sprout, it was so so good. I couldn't be any happier with this place, we definitely have to come back here for breakfast too!!! Too bad we don't drink. So cozy, so chill, I'd love to hang out there with a glass of wine... too bad I don't drink..!!! The server at dinner shift being so genuinely nice, made our dinner experience 10 times better. Thank you...!!

We had plans to eat at another cafe but decided the free coffee Monday deal was worth trying this place. We are so glad we did! The best breakfast we’ve had here after visiting for the entire week from Atlanta. Coffee was strong, but perfect delicious. The California omelette was cooked perfectly with perfect ingredients. The potatoes are seasoned just right! To top off the wonderful dining experience, we were welcomed so warmly when we entered. Our server, Consuelo was AMAZING! She was so kind and friendly, truly caring that we had an enjoyable breakfast. If we stay in the area again, this will be on must-return breakfast spot for us. Highly recommend!

Lovely lively ambiance bustling with locals and tourists. Went around 9am on Sunday, waited for 25min and were seated. Place is small yet menu seems to have something for everyone. We got vegi Benedict and blueberry creamcheese French toast. Both were delicious! However the poached eggs were well done, it was more like hard boiled which was a disappointment. And the salad that came with the Benedict was not fresh. Otherwise, it was a great dining experience!

What a sweet little gem this is. They were so helpful with our huge luggage and made a spot to keep them. The cappuccino was great and the service was super friendly with a smile. I ordered a Lox Bagel and wow I was so impressed with the presentation. The dining space is nice and the door was open for great fresh air. We did order a side of bacon and it never arrived, but we weren't charged for it - so it's okay. The menu was very extensive and I would love to come back and try other options! Great job!

I am mostly docking stars for very lacking bizarre behavior of our server (an older woman), who at first did not seem to understand I wanted to make sure what I order is gluten free. Then, once she understood, said “no” to an item that was gf/or easily customizable not to include any. We had to ask for soy/tamari mixing dish. They did have tamari sauce, but she poured me very little and then put it away from us. In general there was a bit of stinginess going on also with the fish pieces that were cut thinner than we are used to. I am a bit confused about it. I would have paid a bit more if it was a cost issue. Same goes for the ginger… When we ordered she over explained (like an adult talking to a toddler on why we don’t wear our boots to bed at night). It was annoying, and I had to do my best not to take it personally. The music was “interesting” and aimed at some person who thought that music was “rad” in the 90s. At least it wasn’t very loud. The food was itself was what you would expect from a sushi restaurant in SF where there are so many restaurants, that any restaurant who wouldn’t serve good food will have no repeat customers. I will not be a repeat customer. But mostly because there are so many other restaurants to check out

I visited Roxanne Cafe in SF City specifically seeing Stuffed French Toast, but was left disappointed. The toast tasted plain and was just topped with some berries—definitely not what I had hoped for, especially at $19. On top of that, the coffee was overpriced at $5. The place was very busy in the morning, but overall, the dish didn’t live up to expectations and didn’t feel worth the price. I'll give a try one more time for other dishes.

My wife and I were visiting from out of town and staying at. Nearby hotel when we found Maru sushi. We were both excited to eat because it was a long day of traveling. We each ordered an entree, I ordered the Chicken Katsu. Each entree comes with a small salad and miso soup which I ate. Then my chicken came out with a bowl of rice, immediately I smelled something off like there was rotten fish or something. I took and bite and it tasted very off. I had my wife try a sample and we agreed it was no good. We had the waiter come over and told her it was bad, so she said she would remove it from the bill. I didn’t order anything else because I was in a time crunch. When the bill arrives, the chicken itself is removed, but they were trying to charge me for the rice bowl I never touched, the salad and miso soup. Now I did have tue salad and miso soup, not knowing the chicken would be bad. We had the soft spoken waitress come back over, who got the manager for us. We asked the manager why charge for the rice bowl I never touched and the other items not knowing the chicken would be bad. We felt that on principle that the entire entree should have been removed because of the rotten chicken. She refused at first because she said that it was our opinion that the chicken was rotten. We argued back that serving us bad chicken was wrong and that the entire entree should have been taken off the bill. After some loud words, the manager does the right thing and removed the soup, salad and rice. It’s the principle of the fact that if I had that chicken, I may have gotten deathly ill. For chicken to smell like that, it would have to be sitting at room temperature for over 24 hours. That’s not acceptable and it can cost someone’s life in the end.

I ordered the spicy chirashi for take out today. The sashimi was not fresh, they used really cheap ingredients and cheap cuts. Even the lettuce the chirashi was served with was wilting. The “spicy sauce” tasted bad, and when I picked up my order the waitress was grumpy about providing me with soy sauce because she said there was already hot sauce provided. I was not given any wasabi. The worst part is that I immediately came down with awful stomach cramps and a bad case of diarrhea after eating my lunch. All this for a $40 lunch. Worst meal ever. Do not dine here.

This is the first time I’ve ever asked for a discount off my meal because I didn’t like it. We ordered two omelettes, the Napa and the Sonoma, and both came out almost tasteless. I’ve made a plain egg that had more flavour than these omelettes. The Napa was full of huge soggy chunks of apple, and the Sonoma had unseasoned sausage, and onions that might as well have been boiled in water. Nothing was crisp, nothing had any flavour. The potatoes were soft but not crispy and had a little seasoning on them, but not much. I asked the server and I was told that the kitchen doesn’t season the omelettes at all; the attached photo is after I added salt and pepper and still felt like I was eating jellied water. I asked for a discount because I hardly ate anything and she took 10% off, we paid $50 for two coffees and two omelettes we hardly touched. I had heard that San Francisco is known for bland and under-seasoned food, Roxanne’s certainly confirmed that.
