The Comet Club

Went there last saturday with wife and really enjoyed it. We got there before the large crowd arrived but was really impressed with the layout, vibe and the bartender was terrific. Engaged us in conversation, poured us GREAT drinks and took the time to talk with us about all the happenings at the Comet Club throughout the week. We LYFT over to the City from Marin, and like the area where it's located, (and it cuts down on a huge LYFT bill) seeing its not too far over the GG bridge. Went to many other bars that night but found CC to be really cool. We'll definitely be going back, and kudos to the bartender as she was great!

Come here to have SPOT ON excellent cocktails! Mike is my fave bartender! He's all around best and I always look for him to make my long island ice teas! He's got an awesome friendly personality and goes out of his way! The rest of the staff are attentive and helpful, too. Needless to say, this IS my fave place to go for excellent drinks, the best variety of music and a fun dance floor! I'm a regular at this place for the past 8 years, so come and see for yourselves!

The exact kind of dingy bar that makes a night perfect-only recommendation would be to close and open later because genuinely loved it as a great place to keep the party going. Music was amazing!

Deanna is a lovely bartender. I had drinks here on a Wednesday night and was thrilled to learn that Wednesday is Comedy night. The comedy was a lot of fun and the Comet Club has always been one of my favorite local bars.

Went on a Thursday evening. Pretty empty but had really great music and a friendly bartender named Connor. Unpretentious spot in the Marina.

Father of three young daughters now and we still live in SF having moved from cow hollow to the inner Richmond. I will always hold a fond place in my heart for the Comet Club. Some of the best nights out of my life spent here and they have the best dance floor in SF.

Great spot! very friendly and lovely! You can go in and dance for free without getting charged! the atmosphere is so nice and super chill! I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to travel to SF.

Best service in the midst of the quarantine! They made sure the CDC and the county’s department of public health ordinances were followed! A good safe and fun environment. Can’t wait to be back! Definitely a hole in the wall bar. It had good music and the drinks were fine. My boyfriend and I went last Sunday night. Just felt like something was missing since it was practically empty compared to Mauna Loa up the street.

Step back in time at the Comet Club. This place has been around longer than most of the patrons that visit. Good part is the owner while keeping the old style vibe has updated with new upholstery and resurfacing of the bar. Cocktails are good, service is OK, but nobody is going to a bar for service. Surrounded by newer and more upscale places, the comet club is worth a try for its more comfortable and laid back bar experience.

Very small space, DJ was average, but drinks were good! The bouncer was extremely rude and gave me a hard time about my ID (took him about 10 minutes for him to calculate that I was over 21, all while we stood in the rain.)

Vince the manager of comet club tried to give me someone else’s credit card when closing out and then was incredibly nonchalant after admitting to giving my credit card to another customer. He kept saying “I apologized I don’t know what else you want me to do.” He offered no remedy to this other than comping our current drinks (cran vodka so not really a compensation) and claimed he checked whether the card was charged for another person’s bill but wouldn’t look up the charges in front of my friend and me. It is a major business liability. As someone who works for restaurants and bar hospitality groups I know that this is a fire-able offense. This bar is very fun but incredibly unprofessional in dealing with their own mistakes and I would not recommend ever opening a tab there.
