As a vegetarian im always on the hunt for a great food option and Nopa did not disappoint. Their crispy tofu sandwich is one of the best ive had. Not everyone knows how to present tofu. This was reminiscent of a Vietnamese tofu bahn mi sandwich with a delicious cucumber, carrot, ginger slaw and jalapeño. Perfectly deep fried and crispy without feeling heavy afterwards. Great service as well, all the staff was attentive, food came out quick and their in house
The rockfish sandwich was amazing. It had the daikon, carrot slaw with cilantro and mint garnish was refreshing, tangy and balanced out the fried fish. The breading on the fish was crunchy and flavorful. The rockfish itself was fresh and tender, cooked to perfection. Can't wait to try other menu items next time. The only downside to the place is the limited seating, so may need to order food to-go.
Blew away all our expectations! The whole staff was super professional and passionate about their food. The menu was short and sweet however everything was served at an elevated level. I had the best tuna melt of my life and my partner had the fish and chips which were also incredible. While it’s a relaxed/ fast casual space, pricing reflects the zip code and elevated quality of everything. Job well done!
Fresh fish and delicious menu. I tried the fish chowder and the catch of the day, and everything tasted fresh. I also tried the seaweed potato chips which I loved. Highly recommend for a quick lunch/dinner in the Ferry Building. The workers were very nice and mentioned that they change the menu very frequently according to what’s in season.
Food is fresh and tastes amazing. All the staff working there are incredibly friendly, helpful and cheerful. I ordered various bits from the fish counter. The fish collar in particular is so good. Price is very reasonable too.
October 2025: A fabulous addition to the Ferry Building. Tried the Rocky fish sandwich and the Pristine fish over rice 🍚. Both were very tasty 😋. The Rocky was my favorite. Nice and delicate deep fried fish with a tasty slaw on a soft milk bread bun! The Pristine fish over rice was tasty but a little "messy" with flavors all over the place. A good dish, just a little bit chaotic in such a small container. Would be better served in a larger container so the different ingredients can be eaten separately.
The Rocky sandwich was so flavorful! The fish was fresh and crisp, and even the bun was savory. Plus, the staff were incredibly friendly.
Thin crispy batter, soft bun, juicy fish, The Rocky sandwich was so good. The chowder had great smoky flavor and had a ton of texture. Was totally not expecting to find this gem in the touristy area
Amazing place! Of five years living near by, we never come to this place because we thought it’s for tourists. Tried it today and got amazed by the flavor and freshness of ingredient. Some sort of Italian and Asian fusion going on but very subtle. Love the chef, very friendly and funny. Highly recommended.
Saturday Afternoon Visit Not much of a wait to order, grabbing a seat was much harder to get. You have to hover near people that may be finishing soon. The side station where the water and the utensils are stored gets bogged down with people waiting for their food. House Smoked Trout Latke - the flavor tasted sweet from the beet hummus Conserva & Pan Con Tomate tastes great Pristine Fish over Sushi Rice - delicious fresh taste The glass of Rose seemed a bit small for the price point $16 Overall a very good first visit. The Mayor visited Nopa Fish this afternoon.
The food here is delicious. I’m usually not very enthusiastic about fish and chips, but this place changed my mind about the dish— their version of it is just so flavorful. The rockfish sandwich is great as well. Love this addition to the Ferry Building!
Scallops so good they should come with a warning — best I’ve ever had!! By far the best scallops and salmon plancha I’ve ever had! The staff and owner are extremely friendly and welcoming. They even made a special scallop dish just for me, and it was absolutely delicious — fresh, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. Everything is made fresh to order, and you can truly taste the quality. Highly recommend!
Absolutely loved my experience at Nopa Fish! From start to finish, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The summer salad was the perfect start—vibrant, crisp, and bursting with seasonal flavors that felt like a plate of sunshine. The fish and chips were outstanding: perfectly golden, light, and flaky with a crunch that made every bite satisfying. And the star of the meal, the rockfish sandwich, was simply incredible—delicate yet packed with flavor, balanced by fresh toppings and a soft, warm bun. The ambiance was relaxed yet elevated, and the service was warm and attentive without being overbearing. Nopa Fish truly captures the essence of coastal dining with a modern touch. Highly recommend for anyone craving fresh, thoughtfully crafted seafood in the city!
Unbelievable customer service and very nice employees. We unfortunately spilled our lemonade and it went all over the table and floor. They brought towels right away, one clean one for my clothes, cleaned up the mess and was so helpful. On top of that, the food was delicious. Thanks for the lovely lunch and the kindness!
I appreciate a smaller menu because it means they focus on making those items better. Also, the prices are more economical compared to the other restaurants in the building serving fish. We ordered the tuna melt and the fish sandwich. The tuna melt has loads of flavor and comes with a dipping sauce that enhances the meal. The fish sandwich paled in flavor to the melt but was enjoyable. We added the sauce to the fish sandwich and it got a boost of flavor. I had the non-alcoholic West Coast IPA and paired great with both sandwiches. Will definitely be back.
Easily the best fish & chips I’ve ever had. The Latke is also a must. European market vibes with the counter style eats and wine by the glass.
One of the best fish and chips I’ve had! The rock fish is fantastic. Also had the house smoked trout latke, so good! Definitely worth the stop!
This is undoubtably the best seafood place in SF. The food is incredible - SO fresh - and the people could not be kinder and more accommodating! Roli was especially fantastic. We love it here so much!

The seating area is small, but this new restaurant has great food. Particularly their fried rockfish is amazing, in the fish and chips dish and the sandwich. The fries in the former could be improved, as they were sort of dry. They do give a lot of fries. Additionally, the shrimp arancini (they’re fried rice bites) were good. We also ordered a cup of corn and trout chowder, which was a burst of flavor. The soup cup was large. Loved the pesto they included with the rice bites and the chowder. Props for their packaging as well, it was all compostable and had nice presentation😊!

Super fresh fish but not sure I’d pay $50 (w/ the uni add-on + tax and tip) for this bowl again. Pretty tight communal seating and I felt rushed to finish up.

Fresh fish and appealing menu. Arancini was a little dry and the pesto that came with it had an oxidized color, and dull bitter taste. The fish and chips was good, not the best, but I appreciated the fresh rockfish as opposed to frozen unknown fish at many places. The homemade fries were dry and mealy (like in-and-out). Pickles, yummy. Stand out was the smoked trout latkes. The trout was perfectly smoked, moist, and just the right amount of salt. Seating was tight on the communal tables and the staff, although all very friendly and helpful, kept coming back to clear dishes. After spending $50 per person, I wished we could have enjoyed the meal in peace without getting rushed out.
Tucked inside the San Francisco Ferry Building, Nopa Fish is a modest seafood sandwich shop surrounded by a lively mix of artisanal food vendors. A short walk to the back of the building reveals a scenic view of the ferry terminal and the Bay Bridge, adding a quintessentially San Francisco touch to the experience. The grilled tuna sandwich ($25) offers a pleasing balance of textures — crisp on the outside, tender and moist within — and a subtle complexity of flavor. Overall, it’s a satisfying choice worth 3½ stars. On my next visit, the seafood salad will be at the top of my list.
