These crab roe soup dumplings in LA are amazing! 🦀 Have you tried them yet? A friend told me that if you want soup dumplings, you have to try this place! They’ve apparently been around for many years, and this is their new location. The restaurant has a cozy Chinese-style vibe, with bright red walls that really stand out. The space is clean and well-lit. As soon as we sat down, we saw layers of bamboo steamers coming out from the kitchen — it instantly made us hungry 🤤 Here’s what we ordered 👇 🥟 Crab Roe Soup Dumpling (single large dumpling) This one is huge! It’s packed with broth — once you gently poke it, the soup just flows out. The crab flavor is very noticeable. Remember to sip the soup first before eating the dumpling. The filling is very generous! 🥟 Crab Roe Xiao Long Bao Thin skin and lots of soup inside. When you bite into it, the broth is full of flavor, and the crab roe aroma is rich. Adding a bit of shredded ginger makes it perfect. Their black pork xiao long bao is also very good! 🍜 Hot and Sour Beef Rice Noodles This bowl is super appetizing! The broth is tangy and spicy, the beef portion is generous, and the rice noodles are smooth. Add a little vinegar and it’s even better. 🍖 Wuxi Sweet Pork Ribs Sweet and savory with rich sauce flavor. The meat is tender and very flavorful — a dish that both kids and adults will love. 🥗 Cilantro Mixed Pork Kidney This one was a surprise! The cilantro adds a refreshing taste, and the pork kidney is prepared really well with a nice crisp texture. 🍤 Crab Roe Shrimp The shrimp are tender, and the crab roe adds a rich seafood aroma. The flavor leans slightly sweet and works really well with rice. 🥩 Cumin Beef The cumin aroma is strong and fragrant, especially when eaten with onions. The beef is very tender! Overall, it’s the kind of Chinese restaurant where you can order a full table of dishes and enjoy them slowly with friends. And the soup dumplings are definitely worth trying!

This place is truly a hidden gem in LA! The giant crab roe soup dumpling is absolutely massive and such a standout. It’s juicy, rich, and packed with flavorful crab and pork—every bite is full of savory goodness. The spare ribs are only $6 and surprisingly generous for the price. The meat is tender and practically falls off the bone. Such a great value. Their signature breakfast pastry is another must-try—soft and chewy with a generous, well-seasoned meat filling. I honestly haven’t had anything quite like it elsewhere in LA. I was especially excited to find authentic Wuhan hot dry noodles here. The sesame paste is rich and fragrant, and it really tastes like the ones back home. Definitely a nostalgic highlight. The crispy eel is sweet, crunchy, and incredibly addictive—almost like a savory dessert. Overall, the prices are very reasonable, portions are generous, and everything we tried was delicious. Highly recommend coming with friends and ordering a variety of dishes to share!

I finally revisited Long Xing Ji after they moved, and I’m so glad I did. Their new Baldwin Park location is clean, bright, and you can see the staff hand-wrapping dumplings right by the steamers—always a good sign. The crab roe soup dumpling is still the must-get item. It’s one giant dumpling served in its own basket, with a thick wrapper that holds a ton of rich, buttery crab broth. Sip it with the straw, then dip the skin in ginger vinegar—perfect combo. The crab roe XLB has a thin, delicate wrapper and is packed with savory crab fragrance. Lots of soup inside for such a small dumpling. The fish XLB is lighter and cleaner-tasting, with a clear broth and no fishy smell—great for alternating bites. The crispy eel surprised me again: super crunchy edges, lightly sweet glaze, and addictive enough that we finished the whole plate fast. The Wuxi-style pork rib was tender, slightly sweet, and came off the bone with barely any effort. We also liked the pepper-salt pastry, served hot with a flaky shell and a savory carrot filling. Still one of my favorite soup dumpling spots in LA. Consistent, fresh, and worth the drive.

This restaurant has my favorite xiaolongbao! The taste is beyond words. Every dish is delicious! You’ll fall in love after just one visit. This time I ordered their signature dishes, and they were all 5-star🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. “Wuxi Pork Ribs” and “Liangxi Crispy Eel” are incredible. They’re all sweet, good choices for kids. Those who love sweet-flavored food will definitely enjoy these dishes. “Juicy Pork and Crab Dumplings” is my favorite. Super tasty and soooooo delicious! A must-order for sure 👍! Really love this restaurant, highly recommended for everyone!

The crab roe soup dumplings are quite large, with plenty of soup inside and a rich, fresh crab flavor. The skin is thin, so you have to be careful when eating them or the soup will spill out. They’re also very hot when served. The Liangxi crispy eel is well done—crispy on the outside while still tender inside. It has a sweet flavor that’s very typical of Jiangnan cuisine and pairs well with rice. The Wuxi-style spare ribs are also good. The meat is tender and falls off the bone easily. The sauce is on the sweeter side and well-seasoned. The Yulan pastry has a soft and chewy outer layer with a savory meat filling inside. It tastes best when eaten hot.Overall, the flavors feel quite authentic. The owner is from Wuxi, and the cooking seems traditional. It’s not easy to find this kind of Jiangnan cuisine in Los Angeles, so it’s worth trying if you’re looking for Wuxi-style dishes.

Had dinner here and it ended up being a really good meal. The crab roe soup dumpling is definitely the dish to get — super flavorful and packed with broth, with a really nice crab aroma. The crab roe tofu was another favorite, soft tofu with a rich crab sauce that feels really comforting. We also had their xiaolongbao, stir-fried rice cakes, and a few small sides. Everything tasted clean and well-seasoned, and the portions were generous. The XLB were juicy and the rice cakes had great texture. If you’re in the area and craving dumplings or Shanghainese dishes, this place is definitely worth trying.

One of my longtime favorite Jiangzhe-style restaurants, Long Xing Ji, has moved to Baldwin Park – and I’m happy to report it’s still the same wonderful food and team! I used to stop by their old location in the 99 Ranch plaza every time I went grocery shopping—grabbing a steamer of soup dumplings was basically my shopping reward. Now in their new space, everything tastes just as I remember. The kitchen is open, so you can watch the chef hand-wrap and steam each order right behind the glass. Freshness really shows—and tastes—in every bite. 🥟 Juicy Pork Dumplings (sweet) These are the ones I always get. They have that signature Wuxi-style sweet and savory flavor, and one bite instantly brings me back home. So comforting and authentic. 🦀 Juicy Pork & Crab Bun For just $8.99, this is such a great deal! Best enjoyed hot—poke a straw in, and the golden broth flows right out. The filling is packed with crab roe and pork, super satisfying. 🐟 Deep Fried Crispy Eel Sweet, crunchy, and perfectly fried. The eel is cleaned well with no fishy taste, and the crispy caramelized coating is addictive. This was the first dish we finished at our table! 🍘 House Golden Crispy Cake (Yu Lan Bing) A must-try if you like chewy, sticky textures. The glutinous rice wrapper is soft and stretchy, wrapped around a juicy, sweet-savory pork filling. So good! 🌿 Cilantro Mixed with Pork Kidney Tender, fresh, and clean-tasting—no off flavors at all. Light and refreshing with a nice cilantro kick. 🍖 House Spareribs Classic sweet and savory braised ribs, tender and perfect with rice. 🥬 Stir-Fried Bean Seedlings Fresh, crisp, and simply prepared—a great balance to the richer dishes. If you’re missing authentic Wuxi flavors or just looking for a solid, home-style Jiangzhe spot, Long Xing Ji is still my go-to. Same taste, same heart—just a new address. Definitely worth the visit!

Visited Long Xing Ji after hearing about it for years, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Watching the staff hand-make the crab soup dumplings was impressive, and the flavor was rich and comforting. The Wuxi-style dishes reminded me of home — slightly sweet, very balanced, and clearly made with care. Service was friendly and the food came out fresh and hot. Definitely a place I’d return to when craving authentic Jiangnan flavors.

Such a pleasant surprise! The crab roe soup dumpling is packed with broth—so much that you can literally drink it with a straw. No fishy taste at all. The xiaolongbao are freshly made to order, very authentic. So happy to find flavors like this in Los Angeles. Highly recommended!

As a Nanjing native living in LA and constantly craving real home cooking, I can say this place is truly authentic. The sweetness is refined, not heavy, the flavors are slow-cooked and comforting, and every bite tastes like Jiangnan. Rare and precious in LA.

Authentic xiao long Bao at great prices. The crab roe soup dumplings and xiao long bao are rich and flavorful, and the portions are generous. Everything we ordered was solid, from the pan-fried dumplings to the soups. Simple, honest food that I’d happily come back for.

My favorite Xiaolongbao spot “Long Xing Ji ”has moved to Baldwin Park, and it’s still amazing! The giant crab soup dumpling is insane,so flavorful and juicy. The xiao long bao are sweet but not too much, and everything else we tried:he Yulan cake, Wuxi spare ribs, crab shrimp, and pork kidney salad was super tasty. Great flavors, friendly service, and totally worth the visit!

Their crab roe soup dumplings are truly outstanding — definitely worth the hype. Everything is freshly wrapped right in front of you. The crab roe jumbo soup dumpling is a must-order. The shrimp xiaolongbao has great value; each one comes with a whole shrimp. The cold sliced pork kidney is well-prepared and definitely worth trying. The crispy eel is unique and surprisingly addictive. We ordered a full table of dishes, and the total was about $80 — roughly $20 per person, and everyone left completely full.

Came here with my kids and everything was solid as always. My son’s favorite is still the xiao long bao — juicy, thin skin, and super consistent. Highly recommend the crab roe soup dumpling. It’s rich, savory, and full of flavor — definitely something special you don’t find everywhere in LA. The Wuxi-style braised pork ribs were tender and sweet, literally falling off the bone, and the crispy eel was perfectly crunchy without being greasy. Even dessert was great — the red bean pastry didn’t stand a chance once my kid saw it 😅 Overall, very reliable Jiangnan-style food. Worth the drive and great for families.

Long Xing Ji is a beloved Jiangnan-style Chinese restaurant that recently relocated from Fullerton Plaza to Baldwin Park. Weekend waits are common, but the food is worth it. Highlights include juicy crab roe soup dumplings, classic xiaolongbao, crispy red bean pancakes, and flavorful stir-fried dishes with real wok hei. Consistently satisfying and hard to miss.

I still remember hearing that a Wuxi xiaolongbao place was coming to LA over ten years ago — I rushed straight to the store that day! Now, even after becoming a mom, my kid lights up every time I mention going there. Recently I saw that they reopened, and visiting again really felt like stepping back in time. We even chatted with the owner — it’s still him! 🍽️ All my old favorites are back — and honestly, many of these dishes have no substitute anywhere in LA! Pork Xiaolongbao (Sweet Style) The best xiaolongbao in LA, hands down. Keeping the sweet Jiangnan-style flavor must not be easy here, but that’s exactly what makes it special. Thin skin, juicy filling — one bite and the soup just bursts out! You have to order this one. Crab Roe Soup Dumplings These are serious business — you can literally use a straw to sip the broth! The crab filling is generous, rich, and beautifully fresh. Drink the soup first, then savor the meat. Perfect combo. Crispy Eel (Liangxi Cuishan) A Wuxi classic from the Taihu Lake region. It reminds me of the crispy fried fish I used to eat with noodles — sweet, savory, and fragrant. I’d never had deep-fried eel before, but this one’s incredible! Crunchy and caramelized on the outside, tender inside — addictive either with rice or on its own. Spicy Wontons & Shepherd’s Purse Wontons For any Su’nan local, xiaolongbao always goes hand-in-hand with a bowl of wontons. Each one is plump and flavorful. The spicy red chili version is bold, while the shepherd’s purse filling is aromatic and delicate — pure nostalgia. Crystal Shrimp My childhood favorite dish! Plump, translucent shrimp cooked to a perfect bouncy texture. It’s light yet deeply satisfying. I even took some home and turned it into a shrimp noodle soup the next day! Spicy Boiled Beef I’ve turned into a spice lover since moving to LA, so of course I had to order this! Generous portions, tender slices with just the right chew, flavorful broth — surprisingly authentic and satisfying for those who like a kick. Cilantro Pork Kidney Salad Crunchy, fresh, and zero gaminess. Tossed with cilantro and chili oil, it’s flavorful but not greasy — much lighter than stir-fried versions. A must-try cold dish. Wuxi-Style Ribs That glossy sweet soy glaze and melt-in-your-mouth texture — pure childhood memory. Every table back home had this dish, and it’s still just as comforting. Yulan Cake A traditional Wuxi snack made with sticky rice flour, fried to a golden crisp outside with sweet-savory pork filling inside. Like a cross between a mooncake and tangyuan — if you love this flavor profile, don’t skip it! 👩🏻‍🍳 You can still see the chefs wrapping dumplings right behind the glass — just like before. Watching the folds take shape one by one, I couldn’t help but think of the aunties back home hand-picking crabs and making fillings in the noodle shops.

The crab roe xiaolongbao and crab roe soup dumplings are absolutely amazing — each one is juicy, thin-skinned, and packed with rich, savory flavor. Taking a sip of the soup before biting in instantly brought me back to an autumn in Suzhou . The cold dish, Liangxi crispy eel, totally surprised me too — so crunchy and fragrant, truly unforgettable!

We tried all the flavors this time — Wuxi-style sweet pork, Nanxiang pork, and the extra-large crab roe soup dumpling. As someone born and raised in Shanghai, I can confidently say: I’m very satisfied! Plus, several of their Shanghainese homestyle dishes were excellent and exceeded my expectations!

It’s rare to come across a Jiangsu restaurant in the United States, and this one leans proudly into its regional roots. The interior offers a clear view into the xiaolongbao station, where cooks fold and pleat dumplings in full sight of the dining room. The menu follows the traditions of Jiangsu and neighboring Zhejiang, featuring dishes like xiaolongbao and pork-rib noodle soup. I ordered several classics and was generally pleased with the flavors. The overall profile skews sweet—a hallmark of the region—but some dishes might benefit from a lighter hand to achieve better balance. The xiaolongbao, made entirely by hand on site, required a wait of just over 20 minutes, but the freshness justified the delay.

I'm not the biggest fan of dumplings, but I'd say the big juicy one was pretty delicious. The green beans were in my opinion the best dish, soooo flavorful. We also ordered a pork dish which they totally forgot and brought it at the end because we asked "how long it was going to take". Once we asked the waitress said to wait 10 mins. So we did. The dish was mid in my opinion, not enough flavor. After seeing this place on YT I was excited to try it, glad I did. Would ever go back, not sure. That's just my opinion, you be the judge.
