Pound for pound the best restaurant in the Bay Area. The food the drinks the atmosphere the service. Wife and I have been coming here for years and it’s the best every single time. We went last night for a post birthday/Valentine’s Day celebration. The GM Clancy walked us to our table held a conversation the entire walk and at our table briefly just a regular conversation easy and nice just human that human being warm and welcomed. We had two apps two entrees and some drinks just south of $250 and the food was FANTASTIC!!!
We had such a great evening at Dry Creek Grill. It’s one of those restaurants that consistently delivers — excellent service, delicious food, and a cozy yet lively atmosphere. The place has this hidden gem vibe that makes it feel special without being pretentious. We started with cocktails: I tried the Sucker Punch and my friend went with a classic Manhattan. Both were on point. For an appetizer, we shared the Korean fried chicken wings, which were crispy, flavorful, and just the right kick of spice. Everything felt carefully prepared, and the staff made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. It’s definitely a spot I’d recommend to anyone looking for a fun, relaxed night out with solid food and drinks. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes from the menu!
I’ve seen it all, but Dry Creek Grill in San Jose really impressed me. This spot has mastered the balance of high-end comfort food and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay all night. The Starters & Drinks: We kicked things off with the Calamari. It was perfectly crispy and the ideal way to start the meal. My mother also enjoyed the wine selection; while I didn't snag a photo of the glasses, she was a huge fan of the quality and variety they offered. The Main Event: I ordered the Braised Short Rib, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. • The Texture: As you can see in my video, it was unbelievably tender—it practically fell apart at the touch of a fork. • The Flavor: Rich, savory, and cooked to absolute perfection. If you visit, this is a must-order! The Service: A huge shoutout to our waiter! I didn't catch his name, but he was a total character in the best way possible. He had the personality of a professional actor or a top-tier streamer—super attentive, highly engaging, and he really 'put on a show' that made our night special. The Verdict: Between the top-tier short ribs and the incredible staff, this was a perfect experience. Whether you’re here for a family dinner or just great wine and appetizers, Dry Creek Grill delivers. I’ll definitely be back!
I was a little bit skeptical that a restaurant and what is basically a strip mall could actually be a nice dining experience. I came here for a birthday with my family and the first surprise was just walking in the restaurant. It's much nicer right inside the door than the outside hints. The restaurant is also very expensive. It just keeps going and going. Much larger than the outside suggests. I like the dark colors inside and the use of wood everywhere. It definitely has the ambience of a fine dining experience. The employees have clearly been trained well and are extremely friendly and kind. The food was also delicious. All around, this was a great dining experience and I thought the price point was set correctly for the value it gives. I would definitely come here again for a nice occasion.

Joe Bango and his little gal Pango..yeah, I know, but she's from the Philippines...invited me to there house for a BBQ, and of course I would go because Joe used to run a BBQ pit in Memphis, and he knows his stuff around a Q! Little did I know he lives a block away from the Dry Creek Grill, you can see the place from his front door! So about 20 minutes, and a beer after I got there Pango walks over to the Dry Creek Grill, and snags a bunch of half chickens and stuff, and then tells me Joe hasn't lit charcoal since we moved here! And...Let me just say this, the chicken was perfect! Juicy, and more tender than your first girlfriend. 5 ☆☆☆☆☆ and worthy of a two hour drive!
Was visiting my son in San Jose and we visited this amazing restaurant. We were warmly greeted upon entering and quickly seated. Then we had a very attentive server, Christian, clearly answer our menu questions. We selected the calamari appetizer, and for entrees, the short ribs and the meatloaf. All dishes were absolutely delicious! We enjoyed them in a very relaxing atmosphere. Would give six stars if possible!
JUNE 2025 UPDATE All is still good. I just wish that there were more vegetarian choices for my date to enjoy. This is why we rarely visit. This place turned out to be a wonderful experience all around. Although living here for years, I never noticed this restaurant despite having driven past it countless times We only found out about here by doing a Google search for 'restaurants near me.' We were stunned by what we found. This place is literally tucked away behind the Shell gas station. The outside was very well maintained. The gas 🔥 burning heaters outside were roaring with a high, yet inviting flame. The inside of the restaurant was beautiful and elegant. The lighting, the sound levels, and the decor were all done well. Our server was Christian, and he was awesome right off the bat. There was an entire crew quietly delivering and removing dishes, which helped our server ensure our drinks were never empty. The food was delicious. The butternut squash ravioli tasted very fresh and homemade. It did not taste "corporate. " Overall, we loved this visit and know there will be more.
This place is amazing! I took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner and we had a great time. He got the meatloaf and I had the blackened mahi. The staff was so nice and the ambiance was everything you could ask for if you’re looking to have a relaxing dinner and celebrate a loved one. Highly recommend!
There are some restaurants that offer consistent service, great food and wonderful ambience and Dry Creek Grill is a great example. This hidden gem is an excellent restaurant with exceptional service, drinks and cuisine. We started off with cocktails, Sucker Punch and classic Manhattan. Enjoyed the Korean Fried chicken wings as a starter. Our entrees include their delicious angus prime cheeseburger with fries and a ceasar salad with grilled salmon. Shared a wonderful dessert and an espresso martini. Delightful. The restaurant is in a shopping center off Meridian Avenue and Hamilton. There is plenty of parking. You can also enjoy their fire pit outside the front of the restaurant while waiting for friends or a table.
I'm from Texas so saying you have Texas style BBQ in California raised some questions. The brisket is perfectly cooked, but the flavor profile is different than in central Texas. That said I'll order it again as it is delicious. This trip I had the meatloaf and it was wonderful, I highly recommend it if you like meatloaf. The salads were fresh and tasty and the creme brulee was over the top. Can't wait to come back for another taste of Dry Creek Grill BBQ
Stopped in for a quick bite on a Friday night. No reservations but the hostesses were super cool and got us a table, but told us we needed to be done in a little over 1.5 hours. No probs for us, so we sat quickly. Service was prompt too. Christian helped us and was on point. Not only did we get to order right away, our appetizers came quickly. Delicious cornbread and sticky tasty wings. For dinner we ordered a bunch of things and enjoyed them all. Meatloaf wrapped in bacon, salmon burger, French onion soup, Mac n cheese etc. Even though we only had a small window to relax and enjoy, we maximized the time and enjoyed ourselves. From the front desk to the table service, it was great. We’ve been to this place a few times before and will indeed be back, but last nights dinner and service was review worthy. Bravo to Dry Creek Grill. One love
The setting in this restaurant is peaceful and serine. The service was great and the food was even better. Lots of great choices on the menu as well as a large wine and craft cocktail selection. Full bar with multiple TV screens and comfortable and semi private booths to private a personal dining experience
My husband and I were there for New Year’s Eve. They had a menu especially for the holidays , so we didn’t get to order the steak that we wanted but I ordered the brace ribs with mashed potatoes and it was really good. My Husband ordered the lamb chops and he liked that lamb chops but he didn’t like the Palenta. He couldn’t substitute the Palenta for Mashed potatoes which was Disappointed for him. The food was good. I was a disappointment with their drinks they just had a certain Selection on the holiday men. but overall, it was a good experience. I think we’re gonna go back when they have their regular menu.
Nice decor, for those that want to keep up with sports, this is a good place with lots of TV screens. Good variety food selections, cocktails, and wine. Deviled eggs was good, lamb chop, ravioli, roasted beets salad and onion soup were all good. Our server Adriana was very friendly and helpful. Our second time here, the food and service are always good. The only downside this time ISVs the noise level, too much dishes clinging and sound from the kitchen, made it hard to hear our own conversation.
When comfort food is calling for you, this might be the place. The menu seemed to have something for everyone. Great outdoor fire pits offer a phenomenal spot to wait for your table. Reservations are highly encouraged as this place can get crowded, but if you can wait until after the usual rush hours you might be better off. I showed up without a reservation a little after 8pm and there was plenty of room. The bar looked impressive and I had a phenomenal cocktail (The Firecracker) while my companion had a half-bottle of Chardonnay (yes, they offer this on their wine menu). The food was great and prices were reasonable. Will definitely come back again. One thing I would say is that a certain support server could benefit from training as he interrupted our discussion with our main server to deliver our appetizers while we were sorting out our wine selection. It was both comical and awkward at the same time.
Overall experience was delightful. Been many of times and experience never disappoints. I got Salmon and my man got the meatloaf and baby got steamed veggies. The mashed potatoes tasted funny somehow as well as the cauliflowers. Outside area has continued to improve every time I visit. I loved the meatloaf when preggo but it didn’t taste the same. I love the ambiance inside and wished I was not too shy to take photos.
This review for Dry Creek Grill is long overdue. We stopped by for cocktails and appetizers before continuing to our next destination. The three of us had a wonderful time; our server, Christian (?), was sweet and attentive. The ambiance was sexy and dark, just as it has always been. While it may not look upscale from the outside, stepping inside feels perfect for a date or family dinner. It's a great spot for singles too at their lovely bar. Although, it was full the night we visited, it still maintained a comfortable volume, and exuded subdued sophistication. Service was surprisingly on point and fast with a packed house. It reminded me that Dry Creek is a hidden gem worth revisiting more often. They've maintained consistency over the years in their food and cocktails. The quality is not top notch but you get what you pay for and it’s very fair. Service is top priority in my book when dining out. Reservations is recommended, especially on weekends. Parking is ample in the spacious lot out front.
I'd put Dry Creek Grill in the category of upscale, casual dining. They have a full bar, a good selection of wine and a decent selection of beer. Unfortunately, the service we had was very poor. For instance, I ordered a beer, and could see it sitting on the bar, and it took 4½ minutes for our waiter to bring it to me. Other drink orders were equally slow, as was water service. At no point did he come by to ask if our food was good. Besides the service, the food was good. Two of us had the Tues tacos ($18), steak, chicken and shrimp (one of each) which were tasty. One person got the burger ($22), and the other a salad. The meatballs appetizer was not a hit, but that's just personal taste. We booked ahead of time and were given a choice of booth or table. We chose table. The restaurant wasn't too busy as it was a cold, rainy evening. All said and done, I will not be in a rush to go back to the Dry Creek Grill.
Had a really rough experience at this place last night. The server D.K., (they'll know), was not great at all. He rushed through our drink order and only allowed one of us to order an actual starter dish before he just walked away. Drinks took forever and not once did he ask us if we wanted refills or another round. We never got bread, had to ask for it. When he took our order he was confused about his own handwriting. We asked for ketchup, never got that. I asked for our check because I knew it would be forever until he came back to us, and that still took forever. When we finally got our check he told us that he had accidentally rang us up for another amount but he had "fixed" it. When we left I got a notification that my card had been charged and yep, you guessed it, for the wrong amount ($60 more). I called and spoke to the assistant manager who was very friendly and helpful. Hoping the overcharge gets resolved eventually. Overall, this place feels nice and the food was okay. For the price we paid (not counting the overcharge), the service really needs help. It looked like the other servers were really hustling so we probably just got someone on a bad night.
We had a big party. Our party sampled from each other's plates. Most of us agreed the food was excellent and we couldn't find any dish that we didn't like! Our server was attentive. Our party arrived with children and he treated them kindly and took their orders as well. We had a great time and a great meal! Unfortunately, the bus person turned off the mood while he was clearing the table. Some of us went to the washroom and some of us were getting ready to go and sitting at the table. Then, he (the busguy) started piling dishes in front of me. In the beginning, I didn't mind but one of the dinnerware slipped out of the plate while he was clearing the plates off the table. It could have dropped on one of us. But "Mr. Bus guy" didn't seem to mind, he continued with the same pattern. "Here, let me push dishes to the side so don't bring them over the children", I said and pushed the dish pile off the side of the children but the bus guy ignored and continued. Bringing plates or even table mats over people's heads is kind of rude and unnerving. Recommendation: swordfish, carbonara, Stroganoff, risotto, half chicken, ravioli, Angus burger, meatloaf, Mac&cheese, baked beans (excellent), French onion soup (pretty darn good too)
