Ordered delivery, it was a little slow to get to the driver, but it WAS a Saturday night. Turns out you can't rush excellence. Great thin crust pizza, made with high quality ingredients and an expert hand. I found a new favorite, can't wait to visit in person.
The freeway was a mess so we decided to take Mission Road out to Vista. We were hungry, thought something new would be nice....so we hit Blackstone Pizza on our way home. We ordered a Jumbo 1/2 Cheese & 1/2 Pepperoni. What we got was a delicious thin crust pizza with the perfect amount of toppings. Looking forward to coming back 🤘🤘
Their pizza is like a Nepolian style. Thinner crust with chew, and less sauce so younger to taste the actual ingredients. You may look at the price and think "wow... that's a lot for a pizza!" However, it's more then worth it, and their pies are larger then you think!! A medium usually feeds 3 adults with leftovers! (And I'm a pig when it comes to Pizza!!)
As a native New Yorker, finding good pizza in California is a difficult task. We have been all over San Diego county and Blackstone is hands down one of the best. We have been ordering at least once a month for the past 3 or 4 years, and have never had a bad experience.
We love Blackstone! Their pizza is amazing especially the crust! We've been eating at Blackstone for 10 years! We try other pies but always come back to Blackstone for the best!
Perfect pizza. The best in the county. My fiance agrees and she is a strong pizza critic from New Jersey but Blackstone is what Pizza should be. Their crust and cheese is perfectly cooked and they are very generous with their toppings. Their wings are also very good. I usually get the Supreme but they have a lot of creative pizza creations I've never seen before that I look forward to trying. So glad we found Blackstone since moving to town few months ago. It's now our go-to pizza place.
Staff was warmly welcoming. They have real pizza ovens. Hubby and I were in from out of state so this was a shot in the dark for us. We ordered a large half Colorblind and half pepperoni. Came out perfect, you can tell they don't use any artificial ingredients like the big chain pizzerias do. Price was reasonable, too. Highly recommend.
Easily the best pizza in North County San Diego. The crust is lightly crispy and has the perfect amount of cheese. The menu is really unique and some of the more unusual pizzas are very delicious! Ever since we tried this place, we haven't eaten at any other pizza place in San Marcos.
Was originally planning to go to another pizza place which was closed. Found this place and sure glad we did. We dined in and ordered half cheese and half veggie. Pizza was great and reasonably priced. Pizza was fresh, tasty and warm out of the oven. The staff members working there were very accommodating and were busy with take out orders but they still made sure we were taken care of while dining in. Give this place a shot, you won't be disappointed. Looking forward to our next visit when in town!
I saw their spot, but avoided it until I gambled to stop there recently. I was pleasantly surprised! Everything about the pizza was great. The crust was thin, chewy, and quite tasty! The toppings were superb as well. Had the Man 'O War pizza. Familiarize yourself with their different pizzas and order take out. I'm going back!
We love this pizza. We love the vibe. Our typical order includes some combination of a jumbo cheese pizza, 14" pepperoni pizza, garlic knots, chicken strips with hot buffalo sauce, and a meatball sub. Now that we live out of the delivery area, we order take out. We've never eaten here since we mostly ordered delivery during COVID. It's always busy here because the food is so good. They always make it right if they feel like they're running a little late or make a mistake (rare occurrence). Awesome place!
This place is awesome. I’m so glad it’s on my way home from work. You can’t beat their lunch specials and definitely can’t beat their $10 takeout pizza special. I don’t think you could buy anything for less than $10 these days let alone a decent pizza…
Just moved from the east coast looking for a good pizza that wasn't a national chain. After about 8 attempts, we finally found the one. The pizza is delicious, the wings are made with the right crisp and zing, and the staff couldn't be more friendly. This place made me like the west coast a little more. Nice job.
Blackstone Pizza caught my eye while I was driving by after a quick pick-up job with my company, We Truk. Something about the place just said, ‘Pull over, you need pizza,’ and who am I to argue with fate? As soon as I walked in, I could tell this spot is all about family—and I love that kind of vibe. I was greeted right away by a young lady who was super friendly, like she already knew I’d need a minute to take it all in (and probably to decide between one slice or the whole pie). The atmosphere was cozy, welcoming, and just the kind of place where you feel like you’re about to eat something memorable. And boy, the pizza didn’t disappoint—crispy crust, melty cheese, the works. It was so good, I almost wished I lived closer just for an excuse to come back more often. You know I’m always honest in my reviews, so when I say Blackstone Pizza is worth the stop, you can take it to the bank. If I’m ever in the area again, you’ll know where to find me!
Best pizza to my rating in town guys here super cool 😎 i orders mine works style both onions sausage mushrooms pepperoni in the cheese 🧀
Have been getting pizza and wings from Blackstone for a while now. The place is always clean, the staff are fast and friendly and most importantly, the pizza is fantastic and the wings are crispy delicious!!!
Great pizza, done the right way in huge old-school hot ovens without that lame squeaky conveyor system that so many pizza places are using these days. I’m hooked on their 2-slices-and-a-soda deal. Also, their Antipasto salad is beyond epic when you’re on a health kick for the day. Owner Sam is an honest to goodness hard working business owner who always strives to satisfy his customers.
Pizza Quality: 10, bomb. Pretty apparant that they cater to pick up or delivery. But, I ate inside. Owner and his staff were here and the vibe was good. Beware, no ambiance here, it's a high quality pizza, sandwich and wing production. I'll be back.
Last night I ordered spinach and ricotta pizza with mushrooms, I just have to say it was sooo good! I haven't had it in years since I was little but I was really wanting it and you 100% met my expectations not to mention the amazing service that came along with it!!!! Thank you!!!!

We are not locals, and stumbled across Blackstone Pizza during our mini vacation. A cute hole in the wall, pizza restaurant. The atmosphere was great, customer service was amazing. There is a group of young men working. Their excitement and work talk amongst themselves, makes you enjoy your visit. There was an older gentleman working in the back, and truly made me feel like this is possibly a small family business is so heartwarming. They offer great cash paying promotions, too. Our favorite was $2.00 beers!! The only thing that was a bummer is no fountain drinks. We went to 7/11 and bought our girls a big gulp LOL and they allowed it. Must try!!! Many blessings and success to this business.
The ultimate pizza! Amazing crust. A ture delight. I don't think San Marcos deserves this place. God gives great pizza to those who eat Tacos. Oh well!
The crust is thin enough to convince you it's a cracker, but then the glutinous and savory bite it reveals shows just how it's strong enough to support the copious toppings on top. Fresh veggies, scrumptious sauce, amazing crust. Go for it, you won't regret a single bite!
The customer service here was honestly, the best I've had anywhere in a long time. They were able to fill my order quickly during dinner rush. They were so kind and attentive. Their pizza is delicious. Not to mention their prices are stellar compared to any chain pizza place. I highly recommend!
Big fan of the Chicken Alfredo, Veggin Out, and Shangri-La, but there's basically a flavor of pizza for everyone here. The pies are consistently fresh and delicious. Probably my favorite pizza spot in North County.
This probably the best pizza in north county. I have traveled all over the world and have to say this might be my favorite pizza ever.

Great pizza in North County, it's honestly the best I've found thus far. They have all the classic pizza styles you would expect plus some interesting ones for the more adventurous. The pizza is always fresh and you can definitely taste the quality. I've always had the pizza delivered and the service is prompt. I highly recommend Blackstone if you're looking for good local pizza in the San Marcos area.
The pizza on its own is about three and a half to four stars so that's what I'm going to give it as it's official review. However, if you are hungry you might want to look somewhere else. And definitely don't place the order online because then you will be left in suspense about when your pizza is coming. According to the employee they "usually tell people it'll take 1 hr 15 min" so uh plan If you need a pizza in less than an hour I guess order somewhere elseIf you need a pizza in less than an hour I guess order somewhere else. Tldr I ordered my pizza at 4:40, did not receive until 6:20, no one called to tell me would be that late.
I've passed this place a million times and my wife and I finally decided to give it a try. Boy we're glad we did! This is some of the best pizza we've had. It's got that good ol' pizza parlor style and it tastes great. We also ordered a Caesar salad and it looked and tasted fresh....much much better than the blah salads at other pizza joints. We've been here twice in the past month and both times it's been the same two guys working, and they've both been very friendly. It's obvious that making a good pizza is very important to these guys. The place is small and we were there earlier in the day, so it wasn't busy at all. We hate crowds, so this worked out great for us! Up until now, we were going to Killer Pizza from Mars which is only 5 minutes from our house. Blackstone Pizza is about 15 minutes away but I'd rather drive there for better pizza...it's worth the extra drive! Blackstone Pizza is going to be our go-to pizza spot from now on, and I can't wait till I'm hungry for pizza again....
The pizza choices provide a vast selection to pick from based on your style and taste. Offers a great lunch special for 2 slices and a drink for 6 bucks or a beer for 7.50. Pizza slices are good sizes and the salad option gives a good amount of greens. Only concern is the wait. Unless the pizza is already made, ordering slices for a new pizza can take a good amount of time especially during busy times since there's usually just 2 guys working. Took close to 40 minutes to have two slices made during my lunch hour so didn't give a lot of time to eat before heading back but the pizza is good quality.
One of the better local pizza 🍕 places to eat. Full with garlic knotts, wings, salads etc. I have eaten here many times and will eat here many times more. They also do large pizzas for gatherings, family meals and more. Really cant go wrong ordering for a group here. Great service and great staff.

The pepperoni Half of my pizza was poppin', the cheese half was dry. Overall, the pizza was okay. The slices were crazy big. Wish it had taste a little better. P, s there is no pick because i'm greedy.🥴
Great pizza and salad. We ate in the dining room but I think most people do take out from here. The dining room is not really fixed up for a quality indoor experience. I will get food from here again

The food here is great, but the service is far from great. They have a trend to over promise on time. Take tonight's visit as an example, I order for pickup and they quote 30 minutes. Now I know they are always late so I show up 35 minutes later to the normal line of "oh we're just waiting on the wings". I step 5 feet to the side and wait, 30 minutes later they seem to have forgot me so I ask if my order is ready. It took about 5 more minutes to get everything in order. So a quote of 30 minutes turned into 1 hour 10 minutes. I'm don't typically like leaving reviews like this but this is not a singular event, this happens every time I go there. This one happened to be more extreme then most, but a typical wait time of 15 to 20 minutes after their quoted time seems to be the normal.
Didn't get a pie this time, but tried the Chicken Club Sandwich & the usual Cooked Potato Chips. Slight issue was the speed of order preparation. I wasn't in too much of a rush, but had my little one w/ me. The order wasn't ready at the projected time. Another customer had ordered after me & got his pies before me. Food was good as always, & can't wait to order another pie again next time. The Island Style Pizza is the best though!
If you dont want to answer your phone during business hours. Our company will find another pizza place to eat

Undercooked. Spent the rest of the night in the lou. Threw away all but the two slices we tried to eat.
Price wasn't great for what we got, honestly... Pizzas were overcooked, cheese bread was way over garliced and the marinara was cold and salsa like..?? They had it ready when they said they would so that's cool but, I feel like we could have gotten a better pizza/price at 7-Eleven or Little Caesars. . .
Business hours are listed as being open until 10pm. I call on a Friday night at 9:06pm to place a carryout order. He sighs and goes "we're closing soon.. what do you want?" I apologized and mentioned that their hours are listed as open until 10pm. He says "yeah, that's when we close", and proceeds to take my order, but makes it very clear he is doing so reluctantly. I show up exactly 25 minutes later, on time, and the guy is clearly annoyed with me. I ordered 2 large pizzas, FIFTY FOUR minutes before closing on a Friday night. Give me a break, dude. Two stars because the pizza was very good, but not worth the grief.
I am completely disgusted with what I saw tonight. I did a carryout order when I arrived I had to wait 3 minutes for them to finish the pizzas. The gentleman making our pizza was sweating a lot and I witnessed sweat drop from his nose on to our pizza. I called the owner to let him know. He said he would comp my next pizza but I am not going back. I would rather get the money back. This is a health issue and I will report what I witnessed. I should have waited before paying.
I just stopped by to see if I can try out the pizza says pizza by the slice but there was no slice available. If you want to get a slice of pizza by the slice then come early. I will try again another day.
I am honestly totally bummed on this place and hope that the owner or manager is reading these online reviews since it seems that the staff working during our experience was completely incompetent. Blackstone is our neighborhood pizza place. They have pretty good food, however after our experience with them last Friday night and seeing their questionable customer service and food handling skills, I WILL NEVER eat there again! We called in an order for delivery first and were told that the wait was an hour and a half. So, instead we decided to pick up our order since we just live up the street (were told only a 30 minute wait). When my husband and his friend went to grab our pizzas (nearly 40 minutes later) they were not ready. Unfortunately, they did not check our pizza order until they came home. When we opened our pizzas to eat, were shocked to find that both pizzas given to us were completely incorrect. It was clear that they had given us someone else's order. Disappointed but starving at this point, we called to let them know they has messed up said that we're just going to keep and eat the pizzas they had giving us. Instead of apologizing for the mix up, the woman on the phone desperately said that they actually would be needing those pizzas we were wrongfully given back! She said that they would deliver our actually order momentarily... This was interesting. I thought that by law you are not able to redistribute food after it had been already given to someone else? When the delivery man arrived, still no apology or offer of compensation for what had happened! Just a desperate thanks for the pizzas back and here you go. I'm appalled to think that they actually redelivered the pizzas that were originally given to us, but this sounded like what they were going to do. So if you were a customer who ordered a half cheese half pepperoni and a half what looked like four cheese half meat lovers with onion pizzas last Friday night, I'm very sorry that your pizzas were cold. They came home with us first! Blackstone, you've lost two neighborhood customers with kids. We will be ordering many pizzas for years to come. Just unfortunately no longer from you!
Simply the worst pizza ever. Don't waste your money. If there was a minus on the scale this would rate it. My day which was going so great was ruined. Also, I was unkind to my dog. I can't believe the reviews, are they fake? I am swearing off pizza for a year. The following morning, I tossed 1/2 of the Pepperoni and 3/4 of the Pineapple/Black Olive in the garbage. The pizza's were a Pepperoni, and a Pineapple with Black Olive. Pretty basic stuff.
THE most burnt pizza I have ever had from take out. Thanks guys
We ordered 4 pizzas. Was told 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes. We called at 1 hour 45 to see if it was out for delivery. Got told driver leaving right now. Called again at 2 hours and 15 minutes. Person on phone kept cutting us off saying all orders are out for delivery and I can’t check. Over and over again, not letting us ask any questions. Mind you, I live 7 minutes away. Pizza showed up at 2hour and 30 minutes. On top of all that the 1 of the pizzas was wrong. They sent a cheese pizza instead of the margarita pizza no tomatoes. Paid over $90 for pizza that wasn’t that great. Cheese -wrong, the grizzz- burnt, pepperoni- okay not anything special, the street taco- needs salsa or something it was lacking. Never again. I would suggest to stay away.
Ordered wings and they were perfect! Had their salad before and it was amazing. Ordered pizza for the first time and I was not only disappointed but extremely shocked. I am from back East. I know a good pie. For example NY Giant Pizza in Mira Mesa makes a pretty decent pie. The pie I received from Blackstone looked amazing. I picked a slice up took a bite and well spit it out. I am assuming it is supposed to be a Mexican or Spanish pizza rather than a normal American/Italian/Greek pizza. All I tasted was cilantro. It was absolutely disgusting. Maybe the owner accepted delivery of cilantro instead of parsley, they are closely similar in looks and maybe it was just a mistake. In either case the cilantro was gross. I like my Spanish rice and beans and chicken but cilantro DOES NOT belong anywhere near a pizza sauce.
I came into this restaurant with high expectations just to be completely disappointed. The front text lady was rude,I bought and drink and she didn’t offer a cup so I had to go back 3 times to try and get one.I wanted 30mins for my food and finally the front text lady came out to me and my friend and asked “take out or dine in” and I told her at the start that we were dining in.Its not that hard to make a dam pizza. So after another 30mins I finally got my pizza and it was ight.Bad costumer service decent food. Its also so unbearably hot,my broke homeboy had to take his shirt off. #never coming back.
I have ordered a few times from this place and experience was good. This time, it was terrible; barely any toppings other than pepperonis (ordered meat lovers), super oily, and saggy. We ended up throwing away this x-large pizza…

If I could leave negative stars I would. It took over forty minutes for my pickup order to be ready past when the email told me it was ready. When I arrived the lady took my name and said they were waiting on wings and then she turned around and disappeared into the back and didn’t come out after saying she would check on them. After waiting I moved aside so the other customers behind me could begin picking up their to go orders from another employee. I saw that my pizzas were ready and sitting on the oven with my name on them and noted the time at just after six pm. After waiting ten minutes I checked again with her and she said the wings still needed to come out. I sat at a table and watched 5-6 other orders get picked up. After another ten minutes I walked up and asked how much longer and another girl said she was sorry and walked away again with no update to how much longer it would take or what the issue was. The cook line was bustling and pushing out order after order as I continued to wait. Finally after almost thirty minutes of waiting I interrupted the staff and asked for my order. I was told now they were waiting on garlic knots. I said my pizzas had been sitting on top of the oven since before I arrived and pushed the issue stating I had been there thirty minutes and was still waiting after watching 15 others come and leave. Employees were turning their backs to me and ignoring me. Then one guy said” we gotta give it to you all at once, ya know?” I know that if I pay for food up front, then it belongs to me as soon as it’s done, not held hostage for a half hour to keep a customer there waiting and wondering. At this point I was so angry and frustrated I was shaking. I wanted to take what was ready and cancel and refund everything else. If the place was this far behind on orders why the hell was I sent a notification saying my food was ready? Who made that decision, that would waste my time for so long? I was preparing to call my credit card to dispute this charge and issue and chargeback and leave. I recieved the order ready update email at 5:50. I arrived at the shop at 6:01. At 6:34 my order was given to me at long last and i left. I wish there was a way to get at least my tip refunded because nothing about that customer service deserved it. I was ignored and treated disrespectfully. I took the food home and enjoyed hour old pizza with my family, who all agreed we will never ever order from this place again.
I had eaten at Blackstone Pizza for the first time 2 days ago during lunch. I ordered a 2 slice combo and I loved it so much that I asked my husband if we can go there on date night on Friday (yesterday). When we arrived, there was a very rude young lady at the front. Her tone, her body language, and her facial expressions were so offensive and unprofessional. My husband walked out. I ended up complaining to the owner to let him know of his employee's unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. I let him know I would never come back there because of her, and that I would be leaving a negative review. I would have brought Blackstone Pizza a lot of business because my husband and I have date night every Friday and I would have liked to have gone there. I also have a group of friends that I get together with for grub frequently, and would have liked to have taken them to Blackstone Pizza, but like I said, I will never go back there because of the way we were treated by that rude and disrespectful young lady, which to my surprise, claimed to be a manager. Very sad. The owner apologized but made no attempt to keep our business.
