We went to San Ysidro Ranch for a Christmas High Tea and loved it. The service was impeccable, the food quality was top notch, and the grounds are simply amazing we stayed after our tea time and walked the grounds, then had drinks in the Speakeasy, which was equally impressive.
This is a review for their new afternoon High Tea service. One word: wow. This was one of the best high tea experiences I’ve had (including London, etc!). Mostly because the setting and grounds are GORGEOUS. if you like the “cottage-core” or British rose garden aesthetic, this is your place!!! Service from valet to servers was all fantastic. The grounds have rainbow roses, lemon trees, hummingbirds, and a guitar player strumming in the background. The tea service came with the traditional 3-tiered plate that included scones, finger sandwiches and pastries. The tea selection itself was solid. Had such a crisp fall evening here in October, and cannot wait to come back and bring my mom!!
The restaurant is called Stonehouse on top of the Ysidro ranch, you drive up the hill and then you'll see the big ranch sign then you take a right to the driveway all the way to the top of the mountain, you see all the different Rooms with individual names not numbers like the hotels and there's a restaurant called Stonehouse. We went there for brunch and it was $125 per head. It was a 5 course meal & it was very delightful. The waiters were very professional & respectful also very clean and neat. All these pictures should speak for itself, you got to check it out!
I came with friends today for brunch. What a gorgeous and breathtaking place!! It was our first time at the restaurant and we were so happy to choose this place. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. The service with Oscar and Liliana was amazing, friendly, kind..can't say enough with everyone in here. The food was more than enough, the champagne, everything was really good. $125 per person with all you can drink and free valet parking. I will back soon for sure!
San Ysidro Ranch is truly a hidden gem. From the moment we arrived, everything was beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly maintained. The grounds are lush and serene, creating a private and quiet escape that feels worlds away. The service was outstanding. Everyone was welcoming, thoughtful, and accommodating in every way. It is also incredibly pet friendly, which made our stay even more special. Our dog was treated like a guest of honor. The entire property exudes luxury, from the charming cottages to the attention to detail in every space. It is the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway, romantic trip, or celebration. We cannot wait to return.
Remarkable and beautiful. We enjoyed our stay! Delaney at the front desk was very helpful and full of wonderful recommendations. Thank you to the team and restaurant staff for your kind hospitality 🤍🙏
This place stole my heart. It truly feels like paradise on earth. My soul found so much peace here. The food at the restaurant is top-notch—the service, the people, the nature, the calmness—it all made me feel completely at home. Thank you to the entire team for creating such a beautiful place. I will be back.
We spent 2 nights here. Absolutely impeccable grounds and service. The flowers and color will blow your mind. Great hiking trails as well. We can't wait to return.

San Ysidro Ranch is my husband and mines go to place for our anniversaries! Each year we fly in from Miami to spend time at the Ranch. This year was most exceptional!! We were sat, for dinner, in the old Adobe house, (1825) which was truly magnificent in every way! Alongside the magnificent, historic setting the service and wait team were truly spectacular with the cuisine delicious and heavenly. Rafael - Manager! was so kind and hospitable to us throughout the entire evening and finalized our experience with an unexpected and fascinating tour of the wine cellar - amazing! The setting, customer service, cuisine and cocktail / wine list make for one of the most unique and special places in the United States. To say my husband and I love the Ranch is a gross Understatement. If you crave somewhere special, romantic and one-of-a-kind - SYR knocks it out the park!! Sean & Kevin
Wish I could live here 🥹 What a dreamland with incredible views and insane gardens. The speakeasy cocktail bar and walk in the garden makes for a perfect start to the evening ✨
I can’t say enough good things about this place. Truly first class experience from checkin to checkout. Gorgeous, sprawling property with gardens, a lovely pool lounge area with poolside food service, flowers, hummingbirds…My fiance and I got massages at the spa which we thoroughly enjoyed (although I will say I was surprised they don’t have hot tubs, saunas, or lounge areas there; it’s a clean, quiet, and very minimal spa). We did a private wine tasting in their cellar, which is stocked with 17,000 bottles. Even though I don’t drink, I was enthralled by the knowledge and personal stories shared by the sommelier as my fiance enjoyed a fantastic sampling. We played free mini golf, we swam, we walked the grounds twice each day. The highlight was the food; their restaurant serves the most incredible meals from breakfast to dinner. We opted to enjoy breakfast delivered to our private patio. The service everywhere on property is stellar. We stayed only two nights, whereas I think a minimum of three nights is necessary to truly disconnect from the world and savor every moment at this stunning location. Worth every penny!
Beautiful grounds! Roses of every color, a pond with lilies of every color! Lights after sundown are aphrodisiac! Lovely space for a wedding! Lovely place for a stay! Staff goes above & beyond to help in every way for their events. If you're on the fence about this venue, lemme tell you it's simply superb for private parties! You won't regret it!
This place is a treasure. Incredibly well run, a friendly and helpful staff, and it's hidden in a small area so you feel like you've been transported far away from California. It feels a little like Italy. The food is made be a chef who is truly passionate about flavor and the manager, Diego, is as good as they get. I totally recommend this place for a luxury getaway, wedding or nice evening away from the hustle of LA.
The San Ysidro Ranch is truly one of the most beautiful places in Santa Barbara. The staff is exceptional especially Robert Stitt who setup our three course lunch in the Veranda. The presentation of the food was beautiful and the food was delicious. Our servicer Ricky met all our needs and more. After lunch we decided to walk around the beautiful property and wandered into the main lobby to shop for a beanie baby for my friends granddaughter and we met Delaney who was very helpful and had a wonderful personality.. Jonathan was very helpful and had a great personality and a beautiful smile. We wandered into the Spa and met Toya who was very friendly and showed us around for our next visit. As we left the property there was a gentleman by the name of John who was playing his guitar which sounded so lovely with the beautiful surroundings. Mr. Warner thank you for your detail to this beautiful and exceptional property that I hope will be around for many more generations to enjoy. Truly 5 star Sincerely, Peggy and Julia
Everything about this place is perfect. It is the ideal place for a peaceful vacation. If you enjoy hiking. You didn't even need to take your car, there is a trail starting right by the entrance. The attention to detail about every element of the secure is amazing. The landscaping is beautiful and minutiously maintained. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. The staff go above and beyond to make sure that you have a perfect experience.
Our recent stay at San Ysidro Ranch was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived I felt transported to an oasis of tranquility and elegance. The cottages, tucked into lush gardens under canopy trees, are exquisitely appointed and radiate charm. The interiors—complete with fireplaces, antiques, outdoor rain showers, and private gardens—made me feel like I’d checked into a storybook retreat. Every staff member I encountered was attentive, gracious, and genuinely delighted to help. The service feels 5‑star yet warm and personal. Meals at The Stonehouse and the Veranda were spectacular — cuisine rooted in herbs and produce grown on site, beautifully plated, and paired with impeccable service. Having all that included in the stay felt like a rare luxury. What truly set my experience apart was the sense of peace and seclusion. Despite being close to Santa Barbara, this feels like its own hidden world. I left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already dreaming of returning. San Ysidro Ranch doesn’t just meet expectations — it sets a new standard. Highly, highly recommended.
Although it has become extremely pricey the attention to detail seems to keep improving. We prefer eating at the bar as the menu has excellent offerings without the additional “fuss” and prices as the sit down restaurant.
Went to Speakeasy. Loved it Dinner at Stone House. Excellent service & food. Can't wait to go back.
Our family rented two rooms for four nights to celebrate my mother‘s 95th birthday. During those four days and nights, the staff was thoughtful, caring, and attentive. The food was consistently good each of the three meals per day. The rooms were very thoroughly cleaned. The property and gorgeous flower beds were meticulously maintained. A special callout to Room Reservation Manager, Rob, and Assistant Front Office Manager, Emily, for their thoughtfulness, kindness, and help. The Ranch exceeded our expectations and is worth every penny they charge.

Most recent trip was for high tea. Grounds are gorgeous and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Tea wasn't crowded but service was mediocre. No scones with clotted cream or jam. Sandwiches good but not enough for each person to have one of each. It's a one time experience, don't think it's worth a repeat trip

Vastly overrated. The cottages/rooms are cute. But not cute enough to justify 4k a night. The food was absolutely horrible, had two meals during the stay and again for 4K a night I expect great food. It was airplane food quality. Will not return.
I've been here three times now in the past year. Twice for brunch and then last night for Thanksgiving dinner. The place is absolutely beautiful, but what a huge disappointment it was on Thanksgiving. The table cloths and water glasses smelled like dirty dog, (we've all experienced that), change the dishwasher water. And the worst was the uninspired food that was ridiculously overpriced. Squash with burrata, lettuce with dressing and filet wellington (soggy puff pastry) then baked Alaska? I went to French laundry and spent $500 a person and it was awesome. The final slap across the face was the scrunchy bag they gave us with a chap stick, pumpkin candle, cinnamon stick and a squished muffin. Very sad and very disappointing.
What follows is a note that might have been more appropriately addressed to management directly but thought I might as well share it here. This is meant to be helpful, prompting at most a benign intervention from management. I’m an uber driver who has probably taken two dozen rides to SYR in the past year. So, as per usual, my experience of the service here is limited to my interactions with the gate-staff in the entry drive. In the past I’ve had only natural, gracious and even pleasantly humorous exchanges with the older gentlemen who typically occupy the gate-house. This evening a very young man was working. I rolled down my window and began to explain that I was bringing two guests for dinner— the young man interrupted me and said “Can I speak to them?”, at which point I rolled down their window. I was a little startled by the gawky abruptness of this apparently new employee, but would have let it go had my passengers not brought up how “aggressive” it seemed. We chuckled about it, and it was fine, and I certainly would not be leaving this review if only I had noticed this rather glaring hitch in what is usually a seamless opening overture of the guests’ experience. Because this is SYR, I have to believe that even the such a minor snare is worth mentioning, and ought to be addressed to maintain only the finest service standard at such an exclusive destination. J
