Incredibly friendly staff and very delicious and authentic Italian cuisine! Relatively expensive for the location but definitely worth the price. Edit: To add that every time I've come back that the service and food has been beyond excellent. Mateo is very caring and always makes us feel like good friends. The food is also always the best place we can find, with nothing quite like it. ❤️
Located ~5 minutes from Pasatiempo golf course, we came here for dinner after our round and were very impressed. Ordered the meat and cheese plate appetizer (pictured) as well as the calamari. I had the spaghetti alla carbonara and it was perfect. Also had the cannoli for dessert (as well as 2 others I can't remember the name of) and all were amazing. And to top it off, the server was the friendliest guy ever with suggestions for every course. Would definitely come back when in the area. Drinks (alcoholic), Appetizers, Entrees, dessert, tax, tip $70/pp
Excellent. Attentive waiter, good bread, great dishes, authentic regional dishes, even the house wine was great. This time I had salmon ravioli with a side of meatballs. The rav was aldenti, the salmon perfect, both smoked and fresh, the meatballs are pure heaven.
Everything about this place is wonderful and the deserts and seafood are top notch. Real authentic Italian food, fresh ingredients, so exquisitely delish! Service and atmosphere are fantastic. Santa Cruz is not well known for its gourmet or high quality cuisine but Bedda Mia is truly an exception!!
Attentive service, and delicious food. Nice to see a neighborhood restaurant packed full with locals. We will be back.
It reminded me of the wonderful restaurants we saw on a recent European vacation. Our host was our server and bartender, and might have owned the place. It seemed they had no more than four people working there but service was prompt, polite, and very informative. We got a pizza for our boy, and opted to share a soup and risotto and a couple glasses of wine. Everything was just delicious, and our host was full of information about the details about each option and choice. We opted to box up leftovers and delve into dessert, and that was a great move on our part. No fancy seating or elaborate atmosphere, but excellent food and service.
One of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been to. Seriously. The food was amazing! The menu has so many options. The service was out of this world. Only issue here is the size of the place. Kinda small. Don't miss out on this amazing place.
At Bedda Mia, we were welcomed into a warm ambiance, perfect for an authentic Italian dining experience. The menu, rich with a variety of traditional flavors, did not disappoint. AMAZING SEAFOOD! Each dish was prepared with care and very fresh ingredients. The service was impeccable, with attentive and knowledgeable staff enhancing the overall experience. Bedda Mia is a gem for anyone seeking a genuine Italian experience with great seafood dishes. Absolutely 5 stars!
Good food! The server is knowledgeable and provides top notch service! Will definitely eat here again.
The food was great! Everything was fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere is like when you go to a mom n pop restaurant in Italy. Nothing over the top, no frills, but feels authentic. We’ve been meaning to go in for months and I’m glad we finally did!
From the fresh home made tomato sauce to the perfectly cooked chicken; this place did not disappoint! Friendly staff with a small family business vibe. Very reasonably price with generous (sharable) portions. Be sure to try the Arancini appetizer as well! Can't wait to come back and try their dessert🤤
Service was impeccable. Delicious pizza, pasta, and desert. The team here is accommodating and pleasant. Food is well seasoned and pasta cooked to perfection.
Came with a larger party, they accommodated us and ensured the meal went perfectly. Mateo was very attentive and impressed us with his service. All of the food was delicious. The octopus was my favorite entree. amazing array of desserts that were heavenly. I will definitely be coming back.
We didn't have anything boring at Bedda Mia. They squeezed us in between the reservations on a Saturday and while busy, they were still attentive and the food was excellent. The specials were especially good (anything with the bisque sauce was tasty and textures were well executed).
This is the most wonderful restaurant. The food is top notch. The service friendly and professional. The ambiance is that of an established family run place. I've been here 5 times alone and with friends. We all give it 5 stars.
If you're craving Italian, I recommend Bedda Mia. I ordered eggplant parmesan and it was delicious with a rich red sauce and tender eggplant. My partner had ravioli and he loved it. The Caesar salad was huge, big enough for two. It's a super cute space with a nice little patio.
Went there for lunch to celebrate a milestone wedding anniversary. We hadn’t been in more than a year and forgot how awesome their cuisine is. Started with Spritz, Arancini which were the perfect size and flavor, and fried calamari and prawns. Arancini was equal to the ones I became addicted to in Palermo. Red dipping sauce was exceptional. The Paccheri with squid ink ragu was a top 5 seafood pasta I have had.. More than deserves the 4.7 rating in Google. Will be going back more often. Caution: their portions are generous.
The family that owns La Placa Family bakery in Ben Lomand has partnered to open this cozy new restaurant and we’re glad they did. The food is fantastic. A combo of Sicilian and Genovese flavors. The real deal. We live half the year in Southern Italy and are spoiled by the quality of food there. This measures up and is excellent value for the money. Started splitting the Gustosa salad. Greens, bacon, pecans (normally walnuts), cranberries with a raspberry vinegar dressing. Irina had the salmon and I had a huge piece of sword fish. Finished off with a raspberry eclair that was heavenly.
A few steps from the ocean 🌊 you can smell and test the real seafood from Sicily 🇮🇹❤️ plus traditional Italian classics and pizza!!!
Everything was very good, especially the arancini, of which there were 3 variations. The white wine, sage and butter sauce on the short rib ravioli with speck was also quite tasty. A family run affair. Will definitely be coming back.
Fantastic food. Wonderful family owned place. Another patron paid his bill and asked to meet the chefs. Gave them a hug and shared some thanks in Italian. Can't say how much we enjoyed this meal. Calamari frita Chicken picatta Squid ink Linguini del mare
What a fantastic new Italian addition to the neighborhood! We'll go again and again. Highly recommend! My husband and I went to Bedda Mia for the first time for dinner on a Monday, which was very convenient as so many restaurants are only open W-Sat for dinner. We had 6:30pm reservations, showed up 10 minutes early, were greeted so warmly and seated right away. We chose to sit outside since it was a nice day. Plenty of tables outside to suit you. Our server was Maddie and she was incredibly prompt, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu, drinks, and specials. Had a great personality, and even dealt with a less than friendly person with poise and kindness. 5 stars for Maddie!! We ordered the onion soup as an appetizer and oh wow. We'll definitely be ordering that again, especially in the cooler months. It was smooth, aromatic, warming, and had many layers of flavor. It's not a French onion soup even though it comes with a fontina smothered crostini. It's so much more than that. ☺️ My husband ordered the Chicken Cotoletta alla Milanese. And holy Moses. Was it incredible! It's lightly breaded, pounded flat, cooked to a beautiful golden color - and STILL so tender and juicy. Take advantage of the roasted onions and peppers that come with it, it's a wonderful flavor combination. The potato fries that come with it aren't your normal fries. They are thinly sliced, airy, crispy, and seasoned to perfection. This dish is a winner! I got the Trofie Pesto pasta and added chicken. This dish... I'm so glad the servings are so large because I had enough for lunch the next day and got to experience it twice. The pasta, perfect texture. Pesto, gorgeous. The tomatoes and sliced almonds add texture and depth to the dish. And of course, the chicken was perfectly tender and flavorful. This chef is working with magic, I'm telling you! The check came out fast after it was requested, and they even have a super convenient option to pay for the check online from your phone. That was a nice surprise! All in all, excellent food, outstanding service, and I can't wait to see and eat what's next at this new restaurant!
The staff were so sweet with our kids and made them paper airplanes to play with. We had a group of 6 and we all loved our meals.
Amazing entrées and dessert! The staff were extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about what they served. Having been my first time at this restaurant, i was curious to see what they would recommend. They hit the nail on the head for me. We started with Calamari which was very tasty and flaky with a delicious sauce. For an entrée I had the Risotto Al Frutti Di Mari and the others in my party had the lasagna. Large portions and such delicious food. Finished it off with a canoli they they specifically make a certain way. It was amazing! Thank you for the great recommendation for dinner I will be returning on my next visit!!
The best gnocchi I’ve ever had. We also ordered the vongole. Authentic home cooked Italian food. We got spaghetti and meatballs to go but I didn’t get a good photo. Everything was amazing along with our server, Mateo. Can’t wait to try more dishes. Cheers!
We drove down from Santa Rosa to celebrate my husband's birthday and to finally experience Bedda Mia and it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely on point. We had the arancini platter for dinner (was too busy enjoying it to take a picture lol), 4 different pasta dishes, and Gelato for dessert. Arrivederci e alla prossima volta.

Really fabulous food! I’m kind of like Johnny Depp in Once Upon a Time in Mexico, except I always order eggplant parmigiana (not cochinita pibil) as my measure of how good a place is. Excellent! They do something to the eggplant that kind of carmelizes it and the sauce is 100% fabulous. So, this eggplant was truly incredible; however, I didn’t have to go eliminate the chef as Johnny Depp would have (to restore balance to the country).
Really cute Italian place with delicious fresh distes. My wife, daughter, and I all ordered a different pasta and all were amazing. We will be back!

We've been to Bedda Mia twice, which is nicely within walking distance from the Rio Theatre. Have a nice meal, and then walk over to the theatre for a show. Very nice food with excellent service. I recommend starting off by splitting the arancini appetizer. The portion size is more than enough for two, and comes with three varieties of fried rice balls plus some crispy fried Italian flatbread. A nice marinara is provided for dipping. Beyond that, the pasta dishes have all been excellent. Have fun exploring the menu.
Simple clean atmosphere. Food was tasty. We had the Crab fettucine, Chicken Piccata, Salmon Piccata, and Eggplant parmesan. All were good, but the Crab was nearly non-existent (although the flavor was present). Would definitely go back.
Mr. Shaun is very personable and friendly. We had the calamari, Siciliana salad, the seafood stew/soup and the fettuccine with turmeric sauce. All tasty and not typical which makes the experience stand out. Will definitely return.
Food: we were looking for a quick bite and found this place. Surprisingly, the pasta and seafood are fresh and the sauce is pretty good. The gelato was okay. The portion is pretty good for the price. Service: the staff were very welcoming and helpful. However, he gave us a feeling of rushing everything…from orders to desserts and getting the bill. Ambiance: there was basically no one on the weekends and we sat down in the patio area. It was not too shabby and quiet to have some nice conversations.
We went to Bedda Mia on the east side for a late afternoon lunch. Overall, we don’t regret giving them a try. The staff, though slow, were all incredibly friendly and kind. Both of our entrees were delicious. But unfortunately our appetizer was a disappointment and the corrugated plastic roofing over their outdoor seating area was so hot it was like eating in a greenhouse. We started with the calamari and crab cake appetizer. The calamari was lightly breaded (which we love) but unfortunately extremely salty. We couldn’t finish it. The crab cakes were quite overcooked, dry and not very flavorful. My bf ordered the fettuccine with fish ragu . It had an abundance of mussels, clams, salmon and calamari. He loved it. The seafood was cooked perfectly and the fettuccine was wonderful. I ordered the mushroom risotto. I’m a huge mushroom lover and this risotto did not disappoint, full of porcini and cremini mushrooms. This is hands down the best risotto I have ever eaten! We will definitely go back. However, we will sit inside on our next visit and skip the calamari and crab cakes.
Not what I was expecting but the food was delicious! I choose the ravioli and my husband had the salmon piccata. Both were delicious! We had the arrnchini appetizer as well. Service was fast and friendly
Had a great meal at Bedda Mia on Water street. Our wait person, Mateo, was friendly and accommodating. Had two appetizers (plus the bread and olive oil). And an entree to share. And a bottle of wine and got out the door for less than $100. Loved the Caprese and Onion soup. We sat outside. I suggest they get a large strip of beautiful fabric and hang it along the tent bottom outside. It was a sunny night and we could have used some reprieve. All in all, a wonderful new restaurant! And within walking distance! And this was just their second week. Kudos!

Food quality is average, more American-Italian than Italian food. Overpriced. The ambience is more similar to a fast food than an Italian restaurant.
Had the carbonara, unfortunately it did not hit the mark from me. Could have had more pepper, it seemed like bacon instead of guanchale and the parmasan grated on top was from a box. Did not get offered fresh black pepper to put on top.

Service was pretty good (except bread wasn't brought until we asked about it after our meals were delivered). Hadn't tried Bedda Mia before and after checking out the menu were excited about returning many times in the future--despite the prices--to try more of the great offerings! So very sad. Our experience today was an unexpected surprise, and not a good one. Bread was decent but skimpy (and late). My partner's meatballs were tasteless. My gnocchi was gummy and tasted like uncooked flour. The zucchini was mush. The shrimp were overcooked and rubbery. We were so very disappointed and won't be returning for any future visits. We sincerely wish other diners better.
This ship is sinking fast.! Since the original chef owner sold this place, it's going downhill, quick. It's definitely not top quality anymore. The the owner Maria is buying everything from Walmart and Aldi's food stars. It's scary. All the food on the website is the original one owner Ettore!! His food cannot be duplicated. It's a shame. This was a really great place to eat. I mean I ment His food cannot be duplicated. It's a shame. This was a really great place to eat. I.
Food was a 50$ experience. Order was 150... we called in an order. Was 30 min late from pick-up time. Staff said 5 mins, waited additional 20. Ice cold pizza and the worst pasta I've ever had. And worst gnocchi. Just mushy wet cold. Maybe if we ate at a table it would've been different... but for 150 I expect a tiny amount of effort. Staff was kind even though other aspects were less than ideal.
Stop 🛑 and LOOK at pics of food in the other reviews; an absolute MUST! It will tell the tale; this place, No Flavor - No Bueno. I failed as I did not look at pics and went totally on the rating. Second fail, I did not go with my senses; gut, visual, smell before sitting down; totally my bad. If u love risotto ($25.00), do urself a huge favor - DO NOT order it here. The brochette was a good choice only because I love garlic and I used it to flavor the risotto! If u don’t like garlic, DO NOT order it. Bread was unpleasantly over toasted! Great staff! However, nice staff is not, at all, any reason to throw down $75.00 plus tip on a flavorless main meal, and a couple tasteless appetizers u can make at home or get at Trader Joe’s. Quite literally, one ☝️ thing that must be said - if u know, and u love Italian food, DO NOT even attempt! Or u will lead urself to a guaranteed journey of extremely high price point and completely tasteless food, which will end in, “What the hell was that?! Even the meatballs and the sauce were flavorless and underwhelming! Super SAD as the staff are very sweet and friendly. Heartbreaking to think that perhaps the staff will suffer consequences from not so happy customers that may take their absolute abject horror out on the staff. My suggestion to the owner, please for the sake of ur staff and respect for the value of ur customer’s hard earned money, invest in professional Italian cooking classes for your cook!!! Folks, my recommendation - drive to Capitola! If u still decide to eat here, I suggest u splurge on 4 pieces of brochette ($13.00) as u can use it to flavor ur other dishes! If u can order a dish and a salad, just know the Caesar Salad ($15.00 I think) was safe and was equal to a salad kit form a market, edible. If u are not yet deterred, order one dish. Taste that first. Better yet, stay home and get frozen Trader Joe’s Italian meals! Friends, save ur self the trip, the money and the literal shock of this experience! My prediction, they WILL be out of business in the not so distant future, if they fail to invest on professional Italian chef! My suspicion, the 4.7 rating by 141 alleged persons - possible AI or Digital Robot company paid by owner, IDK 🤷♀️. I have never written a review. I was moved to write this to save others from the horribly, grave disappointment and the money that you will waste at this NOT ITALIAN locale, especially in these financially tough times for most. And, as in everything in life, simply hoping something is good is not enough to make it so; and in this case proved to be not enough to make it edible or worth the well earned dollar. Best regards!
We had a really disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food was overpriced and the portions were small. The salad came without any dressing, just plain leaves, poorly presented, and missing ingredients that were listed on the menu. My friend had to ask for dressing for her salad, and instead of bringing it right away, the waiter first came over to check if it was really needed, then took a long time to finally bring just a tiny bit. To make things worse, most of the desserts we wanted to order were not available. Even something as simple as asking for a box to take leftovers took an unreasonably long time. It was one letdown after another. Never again.
I cannot comment about the food, as we weren't able to eat here. Waited for 20 minutes since the opening time (11am), but nobody showed up. Not sure is this place is out of business or just unprofessional.
I went with my friends. I ordered a Parmigiana that was terrible. The eggplants were nonexistent, completely dissolved, and the sauce was not at all reduced. The salmon gnocchi cost $30 with hardly any salmon, and the gnocchi tasted like flour. The Amatriciana was very expensive and had almost no guanciale. On top of that, $4 for 4 slices of bread. To top it off, the atmosphere was super depressing To finish a had stomachache the next day

Went here for my anniversary and was greatly disappointed. Kitchen lost our order so we waited 45+ minutes. Vibe is tacky and depressing. AI looking art work on the walls and cheesy etsy signs everywhere. Weird music playing on a bluetooth speaker. Servers were awkward. Arancini was still frozen on the inside. Egg plant parmesan was drowned in bland tomato sauce. Gnocchi had no flavor as well. Not sure why Bedda Mia is rated 4.6
