My wife and I had the Downtown Burger and the Reuben. The food was outstanding...fries were great and the fresh salad was so flavorful. Server was great too. I highly recommend anyone to come here you won't be disappointed!!
The service is great! Very friendly and attentive. The food is incredibly amazing, I've been going to 5 points for years and have tried just about everything on the menu and was NEVER disappointed!
Their burgers are amazing and they always have at least one really interesting/experimental burger. I had a marsala burger with a thick marsala wine sauce and mushrooms instead of normal ketchup. It blew me away. They also have a very good selection of beers to get with your burgers.
A great restaurant. It was a good place to hang out with friends. They have the largest selection of burgers I have ever seen. It was so hard to choose! The food was great! We would easily visit again and would eagerly recommend it to family and friends.
Hubby and I came here on a nice spring day in May. We were out and about in Sayville, and can always go for a burger and beer. We decided to take advantage of the outdoor seating. Both got beers, burgers, and milkshakes. We split a huge soft pretzel as an appetizer. I'm glad we did because there was a slight wait for the food. We were enjoying the weather and each other's company so we didn't mind. 5 points is such a fun local spot with great food. Well certainly be back.
My son had the five points burger and loved it. My wife had the crabby Pattie and said it was delicious. I had the avacado tomato and red onio salad and it was great. The wait person was friendly and quite good. I recommend this place highly.
best waffle fries i’ve ever had. and best honey mustard i’ve ever had. so good 10/10
This is easily my favorite place to eat for a good burger. Recently my boyfriend and I have been ordering the watermelon Moscow Mule and it is to die for!!! I recommend this place to everyone. Great food, vibes and staff!
While waiting for the Sayville Theatre to open, my niece and I decided to grab some lunch nearby. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was wonderful! My niece thoroughly enjoyed her burger and fries and I had one of the best cobb salads I'd ever eaten...generously filled with such fresh ingredients and the tomatoes must have been home grown! 😋
Great service, nice menu, good food, well prepared, and in a lovely setting overlooking Main St. In Sayville! Looking forward to outdoor dining once it's warmer!
Five points has a nice outdoor patio, it can be a little loud with the Main St. traffic but they usually have nice live music that drowns it out. The food was great and reasonable, as were the drinks. I will definitely go back
Love this place! The chicken burger and the Cali burger are delicious! Family friendly atmosphere, we have two kids, so that's important. A regular part of our "going out" rotation.
The outdoor seating, cool breezes off the bay wafting all the way to Main Street (many blocks)and people watching are a few good reasons to come here. If you are nostalgic like me, you will remember what once was here where Downtown Burger now holds reign. My order was two Heinekens and a burger with tasty fries. This is a small sample size for my first visit, duration two hours. I cycled hard on my Trek and it wore me out because l was fueled with only a protein powder and fruit smoothie at home. It was only twenty eight miles, but my body was yelling: "Where's the beef?" This meal was just what I needed and helped me get "centered". Your adrenaline will leap riding at 20 mile per hour sprints for three hours. The muscles need more fuel to burn. There are vegetarian options which tempted me and would better suit my training. Check out their menu when you visit. I need to do that as well and keep visiting. Go shopping when you are done. Wash your hands after your meal. Your Mom told me to remind you. Finish shopping then come back for coffee to give the Starbucks kids a break.
Staff were very friendly and pleasant.
Really great food although we actually prefer the non-burger options. Love the Parm Chicken Sandwich. Great service in a beautiful location. Have already been back and will come here time and time again.
It was a good restaurant. I really liked it! It was clean, cozy, perfect lighting and organized. The fries were good but i would prefer them to be more smooth. Overall I loved it 10/10
I originally gave this place 4 stars, but since then they have started serving breakfast and I'm very impressed. This is one of the few places in the morning that are open early on a Sunday. After yoga we go there for breakfast and we are never disappointed. The waitress is so pleasant and she remembers those little details about what we order making us feel at home. Great burgers and pretty good drinks. Very busy during the summer and weekends. Definitely worth checking out.
We always come back to Five Points. They were there for us through the worst of the pandemic. Now, they are as good as ever. Beautiful outdoor patio, great live music, and great burgers on the best buns around. This night, they were very short of help, and we wouldn't have known it if they hadn't apologized for it several times. Don't expect it to be cheap, but expect it to be awesome.
Located in the heart of Sayville. Clean place with outdoor seating. Burgers, wings and Cobb Salad were great. Large selection of beer and the service was very good. Live music was there also. Will definitely be going back.
We always have a great time here! Especially when Kailey is our server
I love this place! The energy is awesome and the live music is correctly placed. Definitely a personal favorite dinner spot. Our server Carly, was super attentive and very sweet! Ultimately topping off our experience :)
Nice Clean, Friendly place to eat. Pulled Pork Sandwich very good. Service at the bar is excellent.
Amazing food. It doesn't matter what you order. Everything is good. I ordered the "Crabby Patty," excluding the 🍍. Lol. The crab meat was seasoned just right, great outside crust and an even better crunch when you bite into that burger. Oh, yeah, it's a burger! and the portion size ain't that bad. Delicious food.
It's been at least a year since I've been here. Food was still excellent and Sunday it was very busy. I miss how good there Food was. I can't wait til the summer to go here and listen to good music while we eat.
Went here out of the blue last Saturday. Turned out to be their 5th anniversary. It was packed and there was live music. BUT, in celebration of the anniversary, there were free drinks! The burger was amazing. My buddy won a raffle, and the owner gave us some really awesome hats. I LOVE THIS PLACE
Very cool vibe in this small town. Burgers are absolutely delicious, drinks are cold, prices are reasonable, and the live music by Vinny and Lexi make it even better. P.S... the staff is very friendly as well. What's not to like about 5 points? We'll done
Great spot in Sayville to enjoy some quality food, and drinks. It's an American style cafe with both inside, and outside seating, and also has live music on the outside patio. The food was very good... I ordered the parmesan crusted chicken sandwich with waffle fries, and a mango margarita.... both highly recommended. I came up from Florida to visit family, and we decided to go here for dinner, and simple quality time together. Our server, Alyssa, did a wonderful job, and should be recognized for her outstanding effort, and attention to detail. I give her a 6 out of 5 😎. I highly recommend giving this place a chance if you get the opportunity 😎👍
Not one to use the word quaint often but, it fits here. We sat outside and enjoyed the open air atmosphere. Kinda like the city without the noise. Food was awesome, service was great and prices were very reasonable. Will definitely be back!
Atmosphere is inviting, and the service is always top-notch. A special shoutout to Graham behind the bar—his attention to detail and friendly attitude is alone a reason to stop by! Whether you're grabbing a drink or sitting down for a meal, you're in good hands here.
Great beer selection, Great food, great atmosphere.
A gem for sure. Price point reasonable, presentation nicely done, and food was fabulous. I got the cheeseburger classic with waffle fries and was so happy with my choice.
Food is always good. Lexi was our Waitress and she provided excellent service. She is friendly and very sweet. Always has a smile on her face. She checks in to make sure food came out perfect
Rustic charm decor. Indoor and outdoor seating. Reasonable portions at reasonable pricing. Decent beer menu. Not overpriced for the beer at all. Food presentation was well done. Taste was spot on. Had the Ruben. Companion had the steak sandwich.. Service with a smile. I will definitely go back again for the burger. That's what they're known for. Also want to try one of those adult milkshakes before it gets too cold out.
Five points is our go-to place when we are in the mood for a consistently good meal. Prices are fair and the food is always fresh and comes out quickly. The servers are attentive and friendly. We highly recommend five points.
A really cute place with really nice staff. There’s both inside and outside seating, so it’s nice to have a choice. I got the Downtown burger when I came here and it was honestly amazing. The food cane out at a pretty reasonable pace and had no mistakes. Can be a little pricey, but nothing insane. I definitely suggest this place for anyone who’s in town and looking for something good.
Walking down Main St. In Sayville we stumbled across Downtown Burger at 5 Points Cafe. Took a look at the menu posted outside and liked what we saw. We went inside and it was busy for a Wednesday afternoon. Since it was only my Wife & I, we were seated immediately. I ordered the Downtown Burger and my wife got the Rubin. The burger was so big I couldn't bite the whole thing and it was delicious. My wife said it was the best Rubin she ever had. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, cooked to perfection. Even the iced tea was fresh brewed and sweetened. A very good value for the amount of food they give you. Definitely going back again.
My husband and I eat here pretty regularly, and the food and service are always top-notch. We’ve tried many of their menu items, some of our favorites being the southwest salad, chipotle bbq chicken salad, the reuben, and the blt. Their monthly specials are always delicious as well! We love eating on their outdoor patio that is dog-friendly. The servers are always so sweet to our dog and bring her a water bowl every time. They also have live music on certain days. Great, casual restaurant to hang out and get a consistently good meal!
This was our first visit. The food came fast and hot to the table. We enjoyed our lunch and will go back. Our server Jennifer was pleasant and helpful
The staff here is always so pleasant and the menu is expansive. Everything I’ve had there has been great. Highly recommend!
This restaurant is in walking distance to the sayville movie theater and sayville train station... They have a nice menu...I had tuna over greens salad..Great table locations both inside and out... July visit... I'll be back 😄
Rating this on limited service. Went there with co-workers for Music Bingo. We didn't eat but the drinks were good, strong enough, and at the right price. We saw the pretzel come out at another table and had to order it. It did not disappoint. Big, fluffy, with cheese and mustard as topping options. So good. The outdoor seating was shaded with a breeze, and the music bingo was an entertaining reprieve.
First time here for my friend and myself and we couldn’t have been happier. Such a comfortable, inviting atmosphere. So many yummy choices on the menu! My reuben was so delicious and the sweet potato fries were AMAZING! My friend thoroughly enjoyed her crispy chicken wrap. Our waitress was really friendly, and very attentive which we truly appreciated. This may have been our first time here, but it certainly won’t be our last!
5 points is hands down one of my favorite spots to eat and hang out on Long Island. The waiters and waitresses are incredible, the food is amazing, the drinks are delicious and everything is extremely reasonably priced. Beautiful interior and exterior seating with live music very often. A special show out to the bar manager, Graham. He’s absolutely incredible…polite, funny, great at what he does and knows how to get to everyone have a great time. He’s the best. 5 Points Cafe for the win!
My Boyfriend & I Went to Five Points Cafe today and was pleasantly surprised. They had a nice menu with a variety of selections. We had a Spin Chip App which was Delicious and I had a Steak Sandwich also Delicious, and my Boyfriend had a Steak Burger which he said was very good. Everything was cooked as we asked. Also the French Fries were really good. Our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable. 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️and I would return for another meal. Highly recommend.
1st time I've eaten there and it was really good! There was a 30 minute wait at around 6:45 on a Saturday night so we sat at the bar. Selina, the bartender was attentive. Ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich with cheddar and a salad. The sandwich was very tasty and the sauce had a nice "kick." The kitchen staff kept just kept pumping out orders (to go & dine-in). There was live music too.
We were walking through town in January and it was blustery so my girlfriend suggested we step in to the 5 Point. It was worth the visit, we decided on Seared Ahi Tuna on mixed greens, and crab cakes with white wine house special while seated at the bar. Jessica, our bartender made sure everything was perfect so we were reluctant to go back out into the cold.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because our waitress was horrible. She handed us the menu and asked if we needed a few minutes immeditly ( no kidding I think most people need a few minutes to look at the menu). Then took forever to come back to take our order. We had to ask the hostess to get our waitress to order. The food was excellent. This waitress could have turned over that table within a half hour instead of an hour and a half.
Bartender was great. Friendly, helpful and quick. Ribs were quite poor. Lots of bits of cartilage in them. Ambiance was very good with a guy on guitar that was very good.
Best burger ever! Can't believe the other reviews. Holding back the 5 star only because there's always a wait - guess that's because of the great food, prices and atmosphere (summer time live music).
Wings and trivia night here on Monday was awesome! The wings were very fresh and the trivia special was 75 cents a wing. They also had $8 pitchers of Bud light. The trivia itself was well done and run by a really nice lady. I would definitely come back here and play again since it's free to enter and the food was great!
Reallly good food, it's been a while since I had food that good! Service was excellent. I would of liked to give it five stars but I was upset to see that they serve all the drinks in plastic cups with plastic straws and plastic appetizer plates. It makes me sad because it is so bad for the environment, as plastic is non biodegradable. Some places are starting to use plastic alternatives so hopefully they will too. That's the only thing bad I have to say, everything else was fantastic.
Cute and cozy this place is a nice stop for a quick bite. They offer a number of burgers, sandwiches, soups and daily specials. There is ample seating outside during the warm weather, although the traffic noise can drown out your conversation if you're seated too near the street.
Good eats in downtown Sayville. Relaxing atmosphere inside and great menu options. I had the Classic Reuben with fries and loved it. The fries were very good, crispy and flavorful, while the sandwich was everything you look for in a Reuben. Plus, it has Carnegie Deli corned beef; Hard to beat that. Def recommend trying this place out if you're driving through the area
Great pub food. Decent pricing. Beers a bit on the high side ($6) for a sit down restaurant. Nice outdoor seating. Live music at 6pm. Happy hour only good at the bar- the HAVE TO CHANGE THAT!!!
The wait staff is usually friendly and attentive. The hostess could use some blinders - if she could focus on what's going on in front of her, it wouldn't be so difficult to get everyone some help. But the food here is so excellent, it's worth a little prodding. The beer selection is very complimentary to the menu, great opportunity for great pairings. Sitting in the outdoor heated patio is actually the most comfortable, adorable dinner, and that plus the Cali Burger and a Six Point Bengali keeps me coming back here more often than I'd like to admit. *Anecdote - Went with some friends one Friday evening, so it wasn't a surprise that we were waiting for a table. But then a pub crawl showed up. I've never see anything like it. Theoretically there was a fundraising component to the event but their check-list shirts informed us that the group was on their 5th out of 7 bars that evening, and all I could hear was a megaphone. An actual megaphone with a bullhorn, that they announced raffles with. Rafael opportunities, raffle prices, raffle winners about to be selected, raffle winners 1-5, the fact that they were about to leave, that they were leaving, that they had left. It was incredible. It flustered the staff so horribly it took them 45 minutes to seat us despite empty tables. I couldn't tell you if the group informed the restaurant they were coming, but damn. They weren't ready. And the group of middle-aged pub crawlers were disrespectful to the staff, to the other patrons, and actually to each other. So if you see ANYTHING like this in the town of Sayville, don't stand your ground like we did. Just flee.
Wanted to try out 5 points cause I heard good things. My bf and I went on a weekday afternoon around lunchtime, sat outside and managed to get there before it got super busy. The service was good, we both got different burgers and an alcoholic drink and I gotta say the drink was perfect. Perfect size, perfectly made. The burgers both came out juicy and big, and we both subbed for waffles fries and they were delicious. Nicely crunch but soft and mealy inside. Overall nice experience and we'll absolutely go back because there's other menu items we want to try.
I love the food and the service. The only glitch in this matrix is that the music they play is too loud when the musicians come. I have to wear headphones or ear plugs, because it's just so loud. Everything else is great though. Love the servers and the food!
Smack in the middle of Sayville, Burger at Five Points offers a decent, albeit limited menu. We ordered the Cuban sandwich and a burger. The Cuban was excellent as was the burger. The burger was just a bit overcooked but tasty with a delicate barbecue flavor. The Cuban was delicious... just like a Cuban should be. The biggest disappointment for me was how small the place was and how few tables they had. This resulted in over a 30 minute wait. Once we sat down, the service was great. The servers were attentive and the place was very accommodating when my granddaughter wanted plain pasta which was not on the menu. They cooked it to order and my granddaughter loved it. Overall, this is a nice neighborhood place... but too small. It needs to expand. Go out there and try it... see what you think... and remember be good to each other.
Meal was very good. I had the chicken burger
We had lunch with a long lost relative today. We arrived around 12pm and were the only customers for at least 1/2 an hour. This worked out good for us since we had a lot of catching up to do. The food looked good and tasted fine. The waitresses were nice so overall it was a pleasant experience. It's just that nothing stood out that made it special. But give it a try.
Food is good, but about half as good as it should be for the price. Great place, but way too expensive for what it is.
Certain dishes are OK. Many are very bland. Ordered the steak sandwich made with "shaved prime beef" which turned out to be some kind of processed beef "like" meat product that was ckmpletely flavorless. I call it "like" because it was definitely processes meat recombined into something thar loosely resembled a cooked piece of deli sliced roast beef except it was completely uniform in texture unlike real meat. The service is always great. Never a complaint with these people. The kitchen will make something off the menu (the burgers are great but i prefer chicken breast instead) and no complaints from the kitchen staff. Need to be careful on nights with music as the musicians seem to have a difficult time understanding the venue is small and they need to leave the orchestra at home, especially the giant cymbols, kettle drums, and brass sections. Stick to the guitars guys, hell, even a flute or other softer woodwind instrument. Keep it light, people are trying to eat and converse. Which is the next topic. The place can get a little loud during the rush since it is small and they do fill up fast. Add a rude musician blasting a trumpet (I kid you not) inside a room about the size of a large livingroom amd youve got a walk out crowd or miserable dining experience.
Chicken wings was decent, fries and my wife's salad were good. I ordered a mojito that pretty much tasted like flavored water.
burger was honestly outstanding. so were the fries. I would say that I am a little disturbed that there isn't a environmentally friendly way to bring home your left overs, and when I requested I was pretty sure they didn't care. I asked to see the manager and she was a little condescending and indifferent. "I'll pass it on" was her response. also, with the wait staff out numbering the patrons, it was still difficult to get anyone's attention. I shouldnt have had to wait so long for my second beer, a refill of my son's drink, or the check. a great burger won't get me back to this place after that....still, a great burger.
We just wanted a quick drink near home and decided to try. Service was good, pretzel was good. Drinks we ordered were not good. We ordered the “Paloma” drink which tasted like club soda with a faint hit of something syrup like. We told our waitress and she offered us a different drink. We asked for mojitos and even asked for them to be strong even if it was an extra cost. Mojitos tasted bland, no rum taste, mint used was not fresh, some leaves were brown. Seems like everyone who goes there sticks to wines and beers which may be the best choice bc the specialty drinks were not good at all.
Food was good. Nice to eat outside on their patio which didn't feel like we were sitting on the side of Montauk Hwy. Enjoyed the shrimp burrito with some added sauce and the fries were really good. My wife had the Cajun chicken sandwich. Not bad. Her favorite was the watermelon and something mojito.
I have been here a few times because the staff is amazing. They are super friendly and treat you like an old friend. The live music is a nice touch, but I feel bad the dining room is small and sometimes happy hour crowd drowns out the solo performer. The food is satisfactory overall. The salads are good. The steak sandwich is great. The Buffalo wings are tiny. The burgers are tasty. I'm not a fan of coated fries. I'm too cheap to pay the up charge for mediocre sweet potato fries or onion rings. So, to not waste the food. I order without but get charged full price. 🤔
Food is fine but don't really like the service or atmosphere, very dingy
We got seated promptly. Place has nice outdoor sitting area which was main reason we picked it. Some live music which ended 15 mins after we sat down. Server was pleasant although failed to check on us. Mosquitoes were biting us, they did have citronella candles but have not offered to turn them oil on for us. Food was nothing special. I had the cali and burger that cost 15 bucks. Had better burgers even chillis has better burgers. Kids food came was brought after we were done with our food. Why they would not serve us all at the same time? I had to feed my kid from my plate. It was only chicken tenders ans fries.
I am always looking for a great place for a burger and love to support local restaurants. I was very disappointed when I visited today. The restaurant looked clean and we were seated right away. I ordered a salad which was good. My daughter and wife both had a burger that were cooked correctly and they enjoyed them. The problem came when I ordered the french onion soup. It was horrible. As a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and many years experience as an executive chef I knew from the first bite what was wrong. First, it was way too sweet....How does this happen you ask? It happens when the cook doesn't take the time to caramelize the onions and cheats by adding lots of sugar. The crouton that was in it was solid as a rock...after it sitting on the table for 30 minutes I still was not able to get my spoon to go through it. When the plates were bussed they could see that I didn't eat it and I explained that it was not good. When my server returned to the table I let her know that it was really bad....the response I got was "oh yeah...Was it really sweet? We have one cook here who always makes it bad." She then dropped the check and of-course the soup was still on it. I paid and left. So...what does this tell us about Five Points Cafe? It tells you that they are ok with taking shortcuts, that when they have a problem they don't fix it. It tells you that they have a weak management team who has not trained their staff on how to handle problems on the floor. What else are you taking shortcuts on? If you can't be trusted to cook and taste soup before serving it to a guest are you temping your foods? Are you labeling your foods? Are you making sure that everything is clean as to prevent cross contamination? Can you not hire and retain qualified cooks that will follow a recipe? I will not be eating there again. I suggest that no one else does either. I hope that the management takes the time to fix what is broken....or replace the management if that is the problem.
I ordered the smoke house burger which comes with horseradish sauce. It came with no sauce. I asked server for some, put it on and took a bite. It was ranch dressing. They took burger back and made new. Server brought it back out with sauce on the side because she said it looked like ranch again. She brought it to me to taste and it was ranch. She went back to kitchen who gave her another side of "horseradish sauce", she smelt it and said it smelt like ranch and again. I tasted it, and again, it was ranch dressing. I just told her to bring some bbq sauce and be done with it. Music was good and waitress was very nice and accommodating, but the kitchen staff not knowing ranch from horseradish makes me wonder...🤔
Their food is good, but they are horrible at dealing with larger groups. I tried to make a reservation and they said "We don't do reservations, but rest assured, it's not a busy time." We get there and they can't seat us, it's about a 20 minute wait. Okay, no problem. That 20 quickly goes up because as other customers come in, they give the tables they were going to put together for us, to them! Now our wait time goes up to 40 min, AFTER we have been waiting some time. Ugh. We left out of frustration to go down the road and had a delicious meal elsewhere.
My brother and I walked into this Cafe because we were looking for a good burger and up until now, this facility had good reviews. We walked in very polite and respectful and were seated promptly. First issue is that we were looking for lunch and were given nothing but breakfast menus at 12:45pm. So we had to wait to be acknowledged to get a real menu. Upon receiving the appropriate lunch menu we waited for almost 15 minutes without being so much as acknowledged. So we decided to leave, at which point our existence was still unnoticed. Will never go back here or recommend this Cafe to anyone I know.
Wasn't a bad place. Food was decent, waitress was nice. But I went the other night with my family of 9 and dropped a whole lot of money. Then I call back to see if I left my sunglasses there, speak to Carly and get hung up on. No call back. Too many other great options for us to go back to a place with that kind of service.
My boyfriend and I decided to go to sayville for our anniversary. Our first choice was crickets, but we went there only to find out they were closed on Sundays. Then we walked around, we found five corners was open so we decided to give it a try this was our experience. We decided to sit outside. Two other couples got seated after us. After 15 mins of waiting for our waitress to come over, both of the other couples that got seated after us had their orders taken. Then the host came over to take our order(after he had taken the couple who had been seated after us order, they had only been there a few minutes) he take our order. He said that all of the waitress were backed up making milk shakes. We ordered two beers and burgers. After a while the bartender came to our table she said she was sorry no one told her that someone was at her table. And that the beers were on the house. My boyfriend and i thought, ok that's understandable they are busy we thought it was a nice gesture. But after that the bus boy brought us out our food and no one ever came back to our table. We had to ask someone else to get our check. We planned on spending the day in sayville but this expierince put such a bad taste in our mouthes that we left. On a positive note I have to say hats off to the chef the burgers and frys were great. But bc of the service we will never go back there again.
More then one occasion ordered food and paid extra for toppings and sauce I have not received on my food. To me this is considered robbery taking money for something then not providing it. Additionally wait time for pick up was told to be 15 min 45min later was still waiting on food. I delete a star Everytime they mess up my order. Too bad I'm down to one at the time. They even made a comment everything was in the bag and of course it wasn't
Usually, I have nothing but great things to say about Downtown Burger at Five Points Cafe. The burgers are awesome. But this time, I tried a brisket sandwich and it was so dry, I was choking between the dry meat, frazzled onions and bread. The meat had no broth or juice in it. In addition, they didn't have any gravy to dip on the side. I told the waitress several times how dry it was asking for a suggestion. She never asked if I wanted something else. Since we were in a rush to see a movie next door, I attempted to see if a manager would do something for me. She said you ate half. I said you never came back to take care of the problem. She said she asked a manager and I had to pay for it. Needless to say, I stood up, said is there a Manger here. A woman approached. I told her what happened, she seemed surprised and offered to make amends at another time. And when asked why are you taking home the other half, I replied I PAID $15.00. I'm going to pour a cup of gravy all over it. Very DISAPPOINTED!!!!
I came in for a burger at approximately 3:15pm. The bartender acted as if I was not there. Maybe it was because I'm alone and a 33 year old man. Can't see why I was treated like that. But I never got asked if I wanted anything. I had to ask for a beer. And with the one female bartender with such a nasty attitude. I lost my appetite. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Ate there today for the first and the last time. Waited over 40 minutes for food to arrive (2 hamburgers). When I asked the waitress about the delay she said the kitchen was backed up. Now this is something that can happen from time to time. But when it does a good manager will approach the affected tables and assure them that their food will arrive soon, and apologize for the delay. Not only did that not happen but the manager on duty Jackie refused to come to my table when I expressed my dismay to my server. The server said she was like that. She was not the best manager. She wasn't even adequate. When I approached my server for a 3rd time letting her know I felt Jackie should have addressed us and other tables she reluctantly came out (we had already finished our meals by then) she walked over and looked at me with an attitude and said, "The kitchen is backed up, that's why your food took so long". She offered no apology, made no attempt to make things right in any way. Instead of meeting the problem head on when she knew the kitchen was having issues, she hid in the restaurant and pretended nothing was wrong. No good manager does that, ever. Jackie does not possess the qualities it takes to make an average manager let alone a good one. Bad experience. Never again.
My family and I tried Five Points for the first time yesterday. The waitress seemed either undertrained or disinterested in serving us. My biggest complaint with our visit was when our dinner was served. Two people had ordered the Fish & Chips. We were given a bottle of malt vinegar and after using it on the food, we noticed there were fruit flies floating in the bottle. I went to the hostess and told her what happened. We sat at the table for the next 3-4 minutes without anyone coming to the table (restaurant was not that busy) and assumed they were making us new entrees. Finally someone did come over (I am assuming the owner or manager but not our waitress who never addressed the issue) and were told that "fruit flies are getting the better of us". While they did apologize, it didn't seem to be a big deal to them. The food was reserved about 10 minutes later, but by then I had eaten alone and my wife and son had to eat quickly so we could be on time for our scheduled event that evening. While things tend to happen that are beyond the control of a restaurant, checking your vinegar for fruit flies (which tend to gravitate to) is just irresponsible. There was no mention of comping anything to make up for the ruining of the dinner (after this event who would feel good about the condition of the kitchen?). When something like this happens, a business has 2 choices: 1. Do something to make the customer feel appreciated and make sure they understand the business puts their experience ahead of profits or 2. Pretend it didn't happen and go about your business. Five Points choose number 2 and now I choose to make sure I share with everyone I can that this business is not customer friendly and clearly puts profits above all else. I would never go back here and recommend that others stay away as well.
We each order a burger. The bacon/ cheese for me, ordered medium rare, came out well done. The second burger was the Santa Fe. The toppings were fine but the burger had been doused in some sort of “smoke” flavoring, rendering it inedible. The chef needs a meet thermometer for starters.....Also, the place was somewhat busy and only one overworked, but otherwise pleasant server was available. The Hostess just sat at the bar gabbing with bartender, not helping out.
Let me just start off by saying the food here was great, how ever or waitress ruined it for us. Our waitress, Paige, gave us an unpleasant experience. First of all, we ordered a soda and she brought us water. Took our order, we didn’t get the food for 40 minutes. When we got our food, we weren’t given utensils or napkins or ketchup, nothing. The table was empty. Paige didn’t come to bring us our food, however we asked the guy who did for napkins and ketchup. When she came to check on us (the one time) she brung extra napkins and didn’t ask if we needed anything. When we were ready to pay the bill, we gave her a debit card and she came back 15 minutes later saying she accidentally charged us double our bill and the money would be refunded: However, the amount she charged us was more than double our bill. She didn’t apologize or ask if we had any questions. We asked for a manager and he was able to assist us with the questions we had, even he said he has absolutely no clue what she did. He said he didn’t even know when the money would go back on the card, it’d be at least a few days. Nothing against the food or management of this place, just a terrible experience i thought should be shared. If you’re going to eat here, do yourself a favor and try to pay with cash!
My partner and I went out tonight and did not enjoy our experience. I love local restaurants and we wanted to try something new. We sat inside and immediately had tons of fruit flies hovering around us. I ordered a pumpkin beer and we ordered a pretzel and cheese appetizer, the downtown burger and the veggie burger. A fly flew into my beer and I asked for water instead —was charged for the beer. The pretzel was greasy and the cheese was not great. The burgers were 65% bun and 35% patty. Neither were impressive. Will not be coming back.
I am a huge supporter of local businesses, but after coming to this establishment, I’ve lost so much respect for this one in particular. My boyfriend and I have been wanting to go here for quite sometime. We arrived a little after 2pm on Monday, 7/5, and decided to eat in the outdoor area. The crowd was steady but not overwhelmingly busy. After patiently waiting for 15-20 minutes, two parties came in after us and were served drinks and had their orders taken, 4-5 waitresses plus the hostess came out checking on other tables who have been already served and cleaning tables without acknowledging us. We wound up leaving and the waitress had the audacity to push in our chairs right after we left. On a brighter note, thank you La Tavola for being so accommodating.
I've passed this place so many times and I finally said we should go there. I kinda wished we kept driving. Food quality wasn't great. Ketchup, salt, and pepper packets were put on the table in a wicker basket. Against my better judgment, I used some of the ketchup packets, because my cheeseburger had no taste. After we were done eating the waitress took our condiment basket and dropped it off at the next table for the couple who just ordered. Next time I'll go with McDonald's.
My family has eaten here a few times. The burgers are fine but DO NOT get the lobster roll!!!! It was terrible. Go to claws and pay less for top quality. This was fishy leftover pieces full of mayo. So much mayo it was uneatable. I didn't want to complain in front of people we brought out but after leaving my husband did not feel well so if you do not want to be sick do not order this menu item this summer or you will be sorry like us 😢
Jim, the owner, rudely joined our family meal while visibly intoxicated and ignored our repeated requests to leave. Despite our discomfort, he persisted until we finished and paid our bill. The staff apologized sincerely afterward. His business partners should be ashamed of his behavior.
We couldn’t even eat here. They said a 30 min wait then we came back 30 mins later hungry and ready to eat with 3 kids and they said they would sit us at a table for 4 even thought we had 5 people then we waited outside for 5 more minutes when they said they couldn’t sit us and would have to wait 30 more mins.
I felt compelled to write this review as I’m so disappointed. We’ve been coming to five points since we moved to Bohemia since 2018. We have eaten here many many times and was always our go to spot. We noticed the past year it started changing for the worst. Tonight I door dashed for myself and family. We hadn’t gotten the food in over 6 months so i figured we would try it out again since the last time when we noticed it was going down hill. I ordered my Usual Grilled chicken sandwich on a multi grain bun with onion rings. When I went to bite into it I noticed immediately the chicken was like rubber…. Thick rubber, not like the real taste of a piece of grilled Chicken. It was nauseating. I couldn’t even swallow it I spit it out. I’ve had this same sandwich for years because it was my favorite and the chicken has never been like this. Always thin and grilled and tasted FRESH. Not Artificial ! My daughter ordered a BLT and the rye bread was burnt. It’s really sad because we used to LOVE this place, I was able to get a Refund from door dash, but sadly we will never be back to five points. Wha happened to this place?
We decided to try this cafe restaurant because of its great location and the decent things we had heard, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. The food was genuinely terrible. Everything we ordered was completely bland with no flavor at all. I would honestly be embarrassed if this was my restaurant. How are you going to have a pork chop special for $29 and then serve applesauce in a plastic cup? That alone says everything about the effort put into the food. Lazy and absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention the pork chop was boiled…with no seasoning. It even looks unappetizing. The burgers were somehow both dry and flavorless. I have no idea how you manage to make a burger dry, but they did. There was no seasoning, no flavor, nada. With such a prime location, you would think the food would be at least decent, so we came in with high expectations. I honestly don’t understand how this place stays open. Maybe the owner has strong connections in the community or this restaurant is just a front for something else because there is no way they are surviving off of selling food like that. We will not be back. This was our first and definitely our last visit. We tried to eat as much as we could because we don’t believe in wasting food, but it was a struggle. I just want to warn other people before they waste their money here. Save yourself the disappointment and go somewhere that actually cares about what they serve.
Went for the first time today for lunch. It was not good. Chicken sandwich had massive bun with an extremely small piece of chicken. It was barely 4 oz. Mac and Cheese was basically boxed Velveeta shells. Advertised “topped with toasted breadcrumbs” but was actually just a sprinkle of bottled Parmesan cheese. Not worth the $50 check. Staff was pleasant. Do not recommend.
