La Trava' is a classic Piedmontese trattoria. I've been there many times, and it never disappoints... I can assure you the food is excellent, especially the fritto misto (reservations are recommended by phone). Reservations are highly recommended, as it's always crowded. When the weather is warmer, you can also eat outside. I'm attaching photos of the menu, as it's spoken.
Excellent trattoria, Piedmontese cuisine, excellent appetizers, and very good mixed fried food. We arrived at 10:15 PM with a group of kids under 17, were greeted kindly by the staff, and served quickly and impeccably. The waitresses were very knowledgeable and friendly.
Excellent mixed fried food!!! A bit skewed toward the sweet side, but after all the appetizers they offer, it's fine. For those who want offal in their fried food, I think you should pre-order it when it's ready; otherwise, they serve more commonly eaten meats, rightly so to avoid waste. Very fair price! The waitresses were very kind and smiling. Thank you!
Many might disagree with my decision to give this restaurant 5 stars, but the simplicity of the place and the friendliness of the owners are a great strength; it's a homey and intimate atmosphere. The food is very good, with generous portions, and the wine list has a good selection of Piedmontese wines. The cuisine is predominantly traditional Piedmontese. In my opinion, the quality and price are unbeatable, another strong point of this restaurant. I say this from experience, because in other restaurants, the same bottle of wine in the area costs at least 10 euros more. It's open for lunch and dinner, and there's also a lovely outdoor seating area in the summer. I had a great time, and the guests I brought were very satisfied with this restaurant.
This place is a bit anonymous because it's hard to find if you're not already familiar with it; it would be nice to have some visible signage. The place is charming from the outside, set in a rustic courtyard, but inside it's a bit old-school. The service is good; the waiter was very friendly and helpful. We ordered a generous portion of excellent hot and cold mixed appetizers, and then, already full, we moved straight to the main course, ordering a classic Piedmontese fritto misto. The portions were also noteworthy for their variety; something, like the brain, was missing, but overall, there were plenty of options. We also tried the torta 900, which, while not original, was a valid alternative. Everything was truly delicious, and the price was super reasonable—all this with wine, water, and coffee for the modest sum of €30.
Bar and restaurant nice drink and food.
What a find!! My wife and I found this restaurant a bit by accident while driving back from Cervinia to Torino looking for a place to have a little lunch. After walking around the very quiet little town of Scarmagno and finding nothing, we saw two guys arising confidently through an unmarked door. Two other locals who sensed our desire for lunch told us to go in. We walked through the door into a buzzy room full of locals who all seem to know each other and the owners, who were most charming and accommodating. No menus, they’ll tell you what they’re serving. We each had a bowl of pasta con vongole- delicious! We each started with a Moretti but then moved to the house red to accompany a prodigious and wonderful cheese plate, then another glass of wine followed by espressos. We guessed the price would be between €50 and €60 - bill came to €29.40!! It was one of those out-of-the-way authentic local places you always hope you’ll find on holiday. Bravissimo!!
Very helpful owner . Some English spoken , enough so that we didn't struggle . Great anti pasta, home made pasta ..... Interesting local wine. Very reasonably priced menu, local eaterie . Recommend for good local food .
Always a popular place. The three stars given for the atmosphere are misleading, as this is a classic Piedmontese Piola, so the atmosphere and decor aren't top-notch. The view from the tables confirms the informality of the place. The food is consistently good quality. The service staff has finally rejuvenated, is friendly, and fast. Prices are appropriate for the setting.
Simple atmosphere, typical Piedmontese cuisine, good service, and friendly staff. Basically what you'd expect from a "restaurant" with the same name on Google, but with more of a 1970s trattoria feel, which isn't a bad thing.
I've been there a couple of times during the week for lunch with the workers' menu: quick and courteous service, very good food, like home cooking. If I really had to find a flaw, I'd say the tables were too close together, but I understand that lunchtime is very busy and they need plenty of seating. The parking lot isn't exactly close by. Anyway, I'll definitely be back.
Dinner of hot and cold appetizers and mixed fried fish. Everything was delicious and plentiful. A family-friendly place. The customers were a mix: young, old, disabled, children, and babies. Everyone was happy and satisfied. The owners were friendly and willing to move chairs for high chairs and wheelchairs.
Couple's motorcycle trip. We booked at 9:00 a.m. and miraculously found a table outside. The place is a classic country trattoria, simple but clean. Home-style cooking, good quality dishes, and plenty of them. The ladies serving are friendly and prompt. Excellent value. We'll definitely be back.
Need to update your opening times! I drove here and you're closed!
The place isn't easy to find; there's no sign outside. The food is good, but the Piedmontese-style fritto misto was a complete disappointment. Meat: Milanese, 3 cm of sausage per head and a tiny slice of liver; vegetables: 3 small, transparent slices of eggplant to split between two people, 1 and a half each, and... that's it; desserts: they've had plenty here, even too much: sweet semolina, apple, banana, peach, amaretto, and chocolate. On the other hand, it's cheap.
