Stopped by the Backstage Pub for dinner before an event later in the night. This establishment is small, but it packs a punch. The food here is outstanding! All the great reviews about this place are legitimate. The Backstage Pub is definitely a must visit a restaurant in the Schenectady area of New York!

A great place for food and drinks lunch or dinner. Walking distance from Proctors theater and Jay Street activities. Good beer selection and spirits (including some fun whiskies). There is a great space upstairs for private parties and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Food is wonderful and special deviled eggs are a treat.

Backstage Pub is one of those rare spots where expectations are always exceeded. It’s elevated gastropub fare at a fair price, the Philly Cheesesteak is better than any I’ve had in Philly, the Mac and Cheese is the best I’ve ever had and it has a build-your-own selection featuring some of the delicious proteins from the menu. But the burger… any burger that is on the Menu is crafted with a quality and care that I would confidently put up against any other that claims to be the best in the world. But don’t stop there, upstairs is “The Library” a cozy bar and lounge with one of the most impressive whiskey collections I’ve seen and whether you are upstairs or downstairs the bartenders are welcoming and skilled at their craft. Do yourself a favor, go to Backstage Pub.

I know I leave a lot of positive reviews... This place is must a must go. Terry really has it together, great food with some very different and interesting choices. Love the library upstairs, great bar & vibe. Totally killed it @ the soup stroll too!

There is no downside at all. I waited a bit for a smaller app. But omg it was worth the wait. The pork belly spouts are simply amazing. A complicated melody of tastes I could back for day after day. My date had poutine. I am dieting, I tried a bite, made me wish I wasn't dieting

ALSHEY was amazing . 👏 i let her decide what i wanted to eat, and she hit me with a hot mess burger.... truffle fries with (Italian breath mints .) Pickled garlic . Food is great music is good . And the service is exceptional . Nice selection of beer .. liquor ... and very friendly staff

I was pleasantly surprised by the backstage pub, their food is out of this world, great service and atmosphere. We came in for dinner but brought our son and i was excited to find out they have a kids menu! Their fish fry was clearly breaded in house and its my new schenectady area favorite. Good craft beer selection, clean restroom. I wish there was a little more on the menu for vegetarians but it is a pub! We will be back!

One of those places where everyone knows your name...except us. The place is small & when we walked in everyone quieted & eyes turned. 🤣 The bartender/server was great! She immediately greeted us, told us to sit wherever & then let us know about the specials. There is quite a selection of beer on draft & she was able to give us suggestions based on our questions...she knows her stuff! Food was very good. I got the cucumber watermelon salad. The sweet watermelon was balanced so we'll with the feta cheese & tangy balsamic reduction. Very refreshing, and filling, on a hot day. Hubs had the grilled tuna tacos. He said the pickled jalapenos had a punch! Tuna in every bite & grilled to perfection. Thanks for a great meal & service!

🌮 Taco Tuesay 🌮 What an excellent gem in downtown Schenectady! I am blown away, truly. We ordered all of the specials and everything was excellent. We opted out of the soup due to heat advisory, Though a barstool neighbor reported it was delicious. Emily was welcoming and pleasurable with A + service. Taco Tuesday Jackpot 🌮 Make sure you get here before 5 because it fills up quick. Don't forget to buy a round for the kitchen! For everything, less then 50$!

I’ve had many friends tell me how much they love backstage pub so of course I needed to make a point to try it myself. My husband and I stopped in on Black Friday. The bar was full but there were some open tables. The bartender was quick is welcoming us and another server was fast to come to the table and get drink orders. Here is what we ordered: All American Thigh: fried chicken thigh, American cheese, bacon, hot pickles, honey mustard on brioche Backstage Burger: bacon jam and BSP sauce. Farm fresh from highland hollow, Schoharie, NY Chicken Wings w spicy caramel bacon bourbon sauce Espresso Martini Pork Belly Brussel Sprouts: shaved brussel sprouts sautéed with pork belly, garlic, strawberries, walnuts with maple sriracha drizzle. Only things that were a little miss was the chicken wings while a good size could have been crispier for my preference and the chicken for my sandwich could have been seasoned more. I would definitely go back though, my husband loved his burger and was very impressed with their bourbon selection. I also loved the sauce we got on the chicken wings, it was sweet with a little heat.

Very crowded when we went. Fortunately we had reservations, which seems like a good idea for a Friday evening. Food and service were excellent. We had the BBQ pork belly deviled eggs. I had the Mac and cheese with chopped steak in it. A very filling meal.

Great food especially the Brussel sprouts!! It was very tasty! Had a bees knees cocktail, deviled eggs starter, burrata, and the green tomato BLT. It was all great! Definitely recommend. Other girls in my party had the burgers and said they were excellent!

The restaurant has interesting, unique and creative food not just typical bar food. I like they have many choices of sides for burgers 🍔 and sandwiches. For my personal preference, the food is a little blunt l need more flavor, but overall what we had were good.
