Amazing food. We had Sakitinis for drinks, appetizers he had Goyza and I had sweet Potato tempura. We each ordered Thai Basil with chicken and this came with rice and soup or salad. We chose the salad and so glad I did. This was a homemade ginger dressing to die for! The entree was amazing with a little after bite as it is labeled as spiced. Bring your appetites!!

Best and only sushi place in Rotterdam. I come here weekly to sit at the bar, enjoy exotic sake and creative sushi rolls, and do my work. The classical music creates the perfect ambiance to get lost in your own enjoyment. Highly recommend the lunch special, the lychee martini, the mango martini, and the KANI SALAD IS OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!! The owner is fantastic and may let you try some new items for the menu if you let him know how amazing this place is 🤗. Exactly what Rotterdam needed!

Niji is one of my favorite places around. Their sushi is phenomenal and their noodle dishes such as the pad thai and yaki udon are delectable. I come here at least twice a month. Such high quality food and on top of that the owners seem like great people. Always friendly, always smiling, always making you feel welcome.

BEST takeout we have had in Schenectady! Ordered crispy sesame chicken, Thai curry, and the scallion pancakes. Every thing was perfect. The sesame chicken was not too sticky and was very crispy. The curry was not too spicy, yet the flavor is bold. Delivery on a Saturday evening in less than 45 minutes!

First time coming here. We were literally driving down the road and swerved in and SO glad I did. This place is awesome. Food was great, everyone was super friendly and the price was on point. Normally for the quality of food we got the price would be x3 for the amount we paid.

I will ONLY go to Niji for my sushi. Very friendly and fast service. Very good food, too. The gyoza was wonderfully crispy on the bottom only, as it should be. The miso soup was very warming with tiny little tofu cubes but a good amount of kelp. The Japanese noodles with chicken are deliciously saucy. The chicken katsu is pounded thin and perfectly breaded, ensuring that this fried dish is nice and crispy without being heavy. This is served on a bed of crisp lettuce with fluffy rice. The Japanese curry comes in a big bowl - talk about comfort food! The meat will be tender and cooked to perfection, accompanied by peppers and onions. We didn’t have dessert this time, but the green tea was delicious and served in a tea pot for multiple refills. Not sure why we waited so long to come here, but we will absolutely be coming back.

Ordered take out on the recommendation of a friend. Really good. Love Thai food, but this was the best I've had in the upstate. For appetizers we ordered the salt and pepper Calamari, the Sashimi sampler, and the scallion pancakes. Scallop Pad Thai and Basil chicken were our entrees. Split amongst 4 people. Everything was flavorful and noticeably fresh. The service was very friendly, and the restaurant, and even the parking lot, were very clean. I loved the bar area, but hadn't stopped in for a drink. Wish I lived down the street so I could eat here more frequently but will definitely return. Highly recommend!

On our way to Boston, we were looking for a place to have dinner and randomly picked this restaurant — and everything was so good! The tempura roll was 100/10, the tom yum soup was also really delicious (my mom loved it so much). In the cold winter weather, the miso soup was especially comforting. The gyoza sauce was amazing too. We also ordered fried rice with chicken and steak, and it was really good. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I just moved here from Long Island and I gotta tell you I couldn’t be happier with this place. The food is succulent. The staff, Lily, Ying, And their son Franklin are just phenomenal servers and people in general! I cannot get over the quality of this food. It is 100% what I was looking for and I’m so glad I found this place. Everything was delicious! I ate so much, but I enjoyed everybody and every morsel. I got a one of the roll combos and it was good, was exactly what I was hoping for. I was there just as they opened so it was quiet. Interior is a little dated and worn and it was clean the most important part of that equation. Prices were on point. Over all I was very happy with my meal and the experience. I wanted a quick good lunch for a fair price and that's exactly what I got.

I had the shrimp hibachi bento box but substitute the California roll for a shrimp tempura roll for a slight upcharge. My husband got the hibachi chicken bento box with a tempura chicken roll. Everything was DELICIOUS!!!! The service was great, the restaurant is very welcoming. We will be back.

Ate here at the recommendation of friends who are regulars. I got the scallop yaki udon with miso soup. Scallop was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Our group also ordered Japanese curry, Thai fried rice, teriyaki, gyoza, chicken Thai basil, and Japanese noodles, and I sampled some of their dishes. Everything was good. Prices are reasonable. Mixing the Japanese curry with the Thai fried rice creates a delicious flavor explosion in your mouth. I’d say that the difference between yaki udon (chewy thick wheat noodles) and the Japanese noodles (egg noodles the thickness of spaghetti) is analogous to the difference between chow fun and chow mein. The restaurant ambience is cute. The staff are super friendly and patient with the kids in the group.

I've visited this restaurant on many separate occasions since its opened and it's by far one of my favorite Asian food restaurants in the area. I don't get to go often since I live in MD, but whenever I'm up here to visit my boyfriend I always make sure to come here. The place is new but the food is delicious. The staff here that is composed of a wonderful family are very kind, amiable, and cordial every time we come to eat. The decor is classy and it has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Sushi is my favorite food and I love the sushi they serve here - fresh and full if delightful flavor. Their cooked entrees however are just as excellent, and the portions and prices are very fair. I'm also a colossal fan of their sake; I have it every time I go there. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good sushi or Asian inspired food along with wonderful service.

Staff was very friendly, I tried for the first time Thai curry shrimp, it was spicy and very tasty, I started to sweat, the a/c turned on cooled me right down. Offered me extra rice for my to go, and interestingly enough, when I had my leftovers later, it tasted even better! Prices are decent for what you get, big portions, but there is a bar here too, so bottoms up!

The sushi was so filling. We went during lunch time and ate abundantly. The tea was slightly on the warm side but still quenched the thrist. Wasn't a fan of the salmon. it could have been slightly overcooked. The specialty sushi rolls are huge. Everything tasted fresh as well. I'm still a good solid meal and very thankful 🙏. Lastly, the place was extremely clear and nice-looking.

Miso is bland. Sad that my sashimi which was "chefs choice" entree included escolar (illegal in Japan) aka the "ex-lax fish". Ate here maybe 5 times so far but after this last time I'm uncertain..... why a laxative fish was part of my "chefs choice"? Def dont eat the "white tuna" I ate unawares.....until later that is...

Very disappointed yesterday, the service was poor, I had to practically shout to get a glass of water. The need for water was due to them mopping as I was waiting for my meal. The stench of bleach was overwhelming, I was coughing and experiencing difficulty breathing, yet they remained thirty feet away. I literally had to go outside to catch my breath. They didn’t even apologize! In fact they should’ve not even charged me. My meal was ruined!

I stopped by on a weekday holiday for lunch to find this restaurant almost empty. The overly enthusiastic host informed me that this stand alone building (photo) was refitted from a former pub/pizzeria and only opened in February 2019. About 5 of the 10 bar seats are sort of in the sushi area, so I grabbed a seat in front of the chiller/display behind disposable waribashi, paper napkins and a fork at each place setting, and began to skim through the "grand opening" menu. The menu itself only contained a few photos, which I am always happy to see, but they seemed more decoration than actually useful. For a quick second, I thought they prepared temaki - no such luck. Just a stock sushi photo. Sorry. I chose a couple of nigiri and a couple of non-cone-shaped maki. I've come to truly believe that construction of a selection of simple nigiri more clearly demonstrates the chef's skill than preparation of a giant roll containing twenty different whole fish. Especially in a restaurant that I have yet to dine. I looked around at the limited decor while enjoying a simple competent soup. I never visited the previous bar/restaurant, but unfortunately, the decor tells me that it is still mostly here. As the server quickly entered my order, the chef finally stopped texting to throw together my main. There wasn't really a large selection of nigiri (maybe 15), and nothing too exotic, but with only two other customers in the restaurant, I hoped for far more than I was presented. The two-plate presentation could have been better, with the not-spicy salmon crunch maki containing a little too much of the bland "crunch fillings," although, at least they kept their shape. The nigiri were far more disappointing, more than the decor of a single flower and a bit of lettuce could overcome. The rice may have been sticky enough to hold onto the nori wrappers in the maki, but each one of my nirgiri had chunks of rice falling off as I raised each piece to my mouth. The taste of the rice was not as seasoned as I prefer, but sushi rice that does not stick together would seem to be more at home in some sort of Hawaiian poke-bowl-type meal. Also, a few of the individual pieces were very poorly constructed, with the tamago breaking apart even before I touched it. Two of the smallest cuts of mackerel I've seen in a while were on my plate (photo) - for a second, I thought I was in one of those humble movies where a single end crust of bread is further sliced to make two more even thinner slices. That shouldn't need to happen - saba is one of the cheapest cuts of fish. In retrospect, I also found the pricing to be kind of strange, with my nigiri order of saba, tamago, hirame and hamachi all at the same price point. But at least the taste was not too bad. The server delayed bringing back my bill to prepare me a gratis small plate with a couple of mochi ice cream balls, presented well enough (photo), but bought-in. I'll return, but I believe that these first 3 months haven't been enough time to iron out all the minor problems yet. I hope that these will be corrected by the time I do return. 2019 05 27. S15.

Due to all the positive reviews we were excited to get it a shot. This is not your typical Chinese food, the quality of the food is much higher! However all of the food lacked flavor. The sushi was very soft and mushy. The chicken is actually chunks of chicken but don’t expect it to taste like general tso’s or to be sticky. Unfortunately this was delivery otherwise I would have sent most of it back. Needless to say I we will try somewhere else next time.

Ordered via takeout and it was terrible. The teriyaki was watery and the chicken had very little flavor. We also ordered vegetable tempura that was undercooked with way too much batter. I didnt get my salad and the vegetables had a plastic aftertaste. The only enjoyable part of the meal was the soup.

I don't understand how this place has so many good reviews. I decided to try habachi from a new place... big mistake!! If you like green peppers and flavorless chicken this place is for you! The entire tray was peppers, not much chicken. I don't like green peppers so I was concerned the chicken was going to taste like it but shockingly, even though it looks like black pepper was used it tastes like boiled chicken with no seasoning. The rice seemed to have been premade and came cold, the California roll had a funny taste and to top it off there was plastic in my food.

I have ordered from them previously and the food was amazing. But last night, I did order my same order that I ordered and the food was awful. The pat thai had no taste. the fry rice wasn't even right. seems like the person who cooked my food.The last time was way better than the person who cooked my food. for the amount of money that i'm spending and I can cook something better at home.I think I'll pass on this place .
