A typical Piedmontese restaurant with excellent food. The service is also fast and very friendly. I definitely recommend it.
I've been to this restaurant and I have to say I had a great time. Both the owner and the waitress were super kind and friendly, welcoming us with a big smile, something you'd rarely find in many places. It's a very simple, no-frills trattoria, but the food is good and the portions are decent. We'll definitely be back, so I highly recommend it.
A blast from the past. Simple home cooking with typical local dishes. Kind and friendly service. Celiac-friendly options available. Thanks to Carlo and Silvia for their attention.
The Asti area, with its genuine rural soul and vibrant reds, deserves an equally vibrant tribute. Barbera and Grignolino add a note of cheerful and sincere conviviality. 🍇 Ode to the Trattoria: The Warmth of Monferrato 🍷 (To Carlo, The Wise Soul, and to Silvia, The Radiant Heir) Here, where the hill is covered in vineyards and the fog rises discreetly, You don't enter a restaurant, but rather a real celebration! We are in the genuine heart of the Asti area, a land of sincere joy, Where food is an honest luxury and tradition is not nostalgia. This is the table that tastes of home, of hard work and great laughter, The sanctuary of taste where roots are never forgotten. ✨ To Carlo, The Patron with the Spirit of Barbera Thank you, Carlo! You, with a gaze that speaks of centuries of common sense, You are the master of this kingdom, balance and profound meaning. From your expert hands, as from the fertile and untamed earth, The magic of Monferrato, tamed in the world, is reborn. Your every gesture in the dining room is a caress, your every piece of advice is a wise sip, You are the proud and robust shadow that guides this splendid journey. Your Barbera, simple and generous like your heart, Is the flash of life that lights the flame and banishes all fear. 💐 To Silvia, The Grace of Taste and the Verve of Grignolino Thank you, Silvia! You, with the light that radiates, with the crystalline passion, You are the gentle promise of a story that has yet to end. In your hands, the sacred dough of homemade first courses, perfect and sealed, The ancient art of flavors, faithfully inherited from your ancestors. You are the elegance we need, the whisper of a secret ingredient, The guardian of slow gestures, of beauty without any makeup or pretext. In you, the lively and almost rebellious note of Grignolino lives on, That brings a smile and makes every guest a friend on the move. In this trattoria, where time stops to make room for flavor, You are the balm that warms the soul and gives new fervor. Carlo and Silvia: two generations, a love for the Asti area that doesn't lie, For food that tastes of truth and inebriates our minds. You are the refuge, the warmth, and the most beautiful and strongest memory. Long live Monferrato, and long live those who honor its doors!
Lunch at the trattoria took me back in time, with aromas and flavors that reminded me of my grandmother's cooking. Truly enjoyable in every way. We'll definitely be back.
A small restaurant in the heart of town that captivates with its family-friendly atmosphere, attentive service, and impeccably clean decor. The dishes, prepared with quality ingredients, are tasty and served in generous portions. Excellent value. A highly recommended destination for those seeking authentic, good Piedmontese cuisine for both lunch and dinner.
An excellent trattoria, serving traditional Monferrato dishes and a warm welcome. During the week, there's no menu; the dishes aren't numerous, but they're authentic, and are listed by a very attentive and friendly staff member. Four classic appetizers, from peppers in bagna cauda to raw meat, Russian salad, and nettle omelette. Two first courses: gnocchi with nettles and agnolotti. We were full, so we ordered dessert: bonet (a type of pasta), crostata (a tart), and gelato. The owner, always ready to offer insightful and knowledgeable comments on the area's geo-economic developments, was truly charming and friendly. We paid €20 each for five people, including three bottles of water, a quarter of wine, and one coffee. They even gave us a complimentary bag of hazelnuts when I asked for two (a small amount) for my Latina wife, who wasn't familiar with them. Considering we're in one of the most beautiful and sought-after areas of the lower Monferrato, the prices are truly fair. We will certainly return, it is worth coming here especially from Turin.
It doesnt get much more authentic than this. Great service too
From the moment we stepped into the cozy, family-run restaurant, we felt like part of the family. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, exactly what you'd expect from a truly authentic Piedmontese establishment. The menu, a perfect blend of tradition and creativity, made our hearts sing. Every dish was meticulously prepared and showcased the richness and diversity of Piedmontese cuisine. Not to be forgotten is the excellent wine, which perfectly complemented the food. The restaurant offers a carefully curated selection of local wines that ideally accentuate the flavors of the dishes. The service was impeccable: attentive but not intrusive. The owner herself took care of us, sharing stories about the origins of her ingredients and her passion for Piedmontese tradition. In short, this restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it's an experience not to be missed. We left with full stomachs and warm hearts.
The find of finds! Heading to my wife's grandfathers birthplace in Cinaglio and happened by this small restaurant for lunch. Easily the best lunch in 3+ weeks in Italy. Everything was great, the pasta in lemon/butter superb. The young lady who served us was warm and personable. Her mother, the Chef, was so talented. I actually asked the girl to see if her Mother would be interested in returning with us to California. I begged, but she rejected the offer (all expenses, good salary, etc.). Sorry we weren't spending more time in that area, but, if ever there again, we will return.......just what you'd hope to experience in a small family restaurant!
A very welcoming and friendly place. Small inside, full of photos, and with plenty of tables. The food is good, but some dishes have small portions and aren't very filling. There's a wide variety of food and desserts. Excellent service, fast, and helpful. Staff: friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!!
A sincere trattoria with an A+ for Bagna Cauda Day. Their sauce is a strong one, made with just garlic, anchovies, oil, and a splash of tomato paste (their secret ingredient). It was accompanied by a wide variety of both cooked and raw vegetables, polenta, Fassona beef, and an egg to finish the fujot. The desserts are all homemade, a must-try, especially the cake made with their hazelnut cream. It was a pleasure being served by the gentleman in charge; he always has a story to share. The special menu cost us €25 per person (excluding wine).
Anyone in the Asti area cannot miss this restaurant. Mach Cha Dira, which in Piedmontese means "As long as it lasts," is a very well-organized family-run restaurant. The dining room seats about 50, and in summer, the outdoor seating increases. The service is managed by the owners' two daughters, who are kind and attentive to their guests' needs. The menus vary with the seasons and always feature typical Piedmontese dishes with local specialties, such as the fantastic Nettle Frittata with Beans. The atmosphere is convivial, even with regular guests. You'll almost certainly be engaged by those sitting at your table commenting on the dishes served. For lovers of Bagna Cauda, I can assure you that it is amazing, made according to the Piedmontese art (1.5 heads of garlic with 300 grams of anchovies and extra virgin olive oil per serving). Enjoy your meal, everyone.
Awesome restaurant with typical cuisine. Must try
Three + weeks eating our way across Italy, this was the find of finds! Bar none! We were passing through to visit my wife's grandfathers birthplace. This restaurants was not our destination, but wi…
E' una tipica trattoria di paese. Qui il cibo ha sapori autentici, fanno una insalata russa sublime, il fritto misto piemontese e i piatti tipici della tradizione. Non perdetevi il gelato fatto con le nocciole della loro collina. Prezzi onestissimi.
A traditional trattoria with excellent service and unbeatable value. We had the mushroom menu, which included mushroom crostini, nettle omelette, tagliolini with mushrooms, fried mushrooms, mushroom scallops, and desserts. Everything was delicious, made with quality ingredients. The wine list was well-stocked and reasonably priced. The restaurant is small, with wooden tables and natural lighting, but it's well-kept and clean.
We had lunch there, they don't have a fixed menu. The meal was a solid 8/10 but not good value for money when it comes to lunch. Service was good and we like the setting but found the portions small for what they cost (we are quite slim and don't expect huge portions but still) Cake was very enjoyable, definitely would come back for that with a coffee on side.
