Amazing food and the fact he only uses clean ingredients makes it the only place for Greek food. Owner puts the experience over the top. Very nice man.
The food was fresh and delicious. Portions were more than generous and our waitress was friendly and attentive. I will definitely be coming back!
Best Mediterranean in the Valley, hands down—Greek House Cafe in Simi Valley is a total win. Spotted it on Seed Oil Scout and they deliver: fries in beef tallow, everything else in organic cold-pressed olive oil or avocado oil. No seed oils, no nonsense. The gyro was juicy and spot-on, beef dolmas were melt-in-your-mouth good. Owner’s a carnivore whisperer—chatted anti-inflammatory life and Anthony Chafee like old friends. I was heading to Harmony Farms for farm-raised produce anyway, so this was the perfect pit stop. Worth the 20-minute drive from West Hills every single time. Five stars, no question. Seriously, if you’re into real food that doesn’t wreck your gut, this place is a keeper. Go now.
There was some confusion about the menu and I had to be an annoying vegan about it. The staff (I think including the owners) were extremely kind and accommodating. The food is amazing and the location is nice too. I'll be back and would recommend anyone try this restaurant!
Absolutely love Greek House Cafe! It’s family-owned, they don’t use seed oils, and everything tastes incredibly fresh. I also really appreciate their great vegan options. You can truly tell how much care goes into both the food and the overall experience. So happy to support a local, health-conscious spot like this!
My husband and I live in San Diego and visit my sister who lives in Simi Valley. We make sure that we either have lunch or dinner at Greek House on sycamore as they have “The Best” Gyros ever tasted. We have tried several Greek restaurants in San Diego but nothing compares to Greek house. Really love the flavor and portions of food is very good. Service and owner are very welcoming and they make sure that everything is to your satisfaction 👌❤️ I recommend to stop and visit Greek House when you’re in Simi Valley, you won’t regret it.
Greek House Cafe is a fantastic place to enjoy authentic Mediterranean flavors. The food is fresh, well-seasoned, and full of taste, with generous portions that make it great for both takeout and dining in. Everything from the gyros to the sides feels homemade and satisfying. The service is excellent—friendly, fast, and always helpful with recommendations. Even when ordering takeout, the staff makes sure everything is neatly packed and ready on time. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, giving you the feeling of a family-style cafe. With affordable prices, delicious food, and wonderful service, Greek House Cafe is definitely a spot worth coming back to often.
The story of this facility is a family-owned Greek restaurant proudly serving for over 30 years. Their journey began in 1991 in Goleta, CA., Santa Barbara County, where the family opened the original Greek House Tavern. A decade later, in 2001, they brought their culinary heritage to the Simi Valley community. This restaurant is at the heart of the Kokkinos family's legacy. A woman, collaborating with her former partner Nick Georgopoulos, created something special—a place where authentic Greek flavors and warm hospitality blend seamlessly. Their recipes, inspired by their hometowns of Tarsina, Corinth, and Patra in the Peloponnese region, continue to define the menu today. From comforting classics like oven-roasted lemon potatoes, beef and lamb souvlaki, to flavorful chargrilled chicken souvlaki and the signature gyro served on handmade pita with house-made and strained Greek yogurt tzatziki, each dish is crafted with fresh ingredients, authentic techniques, and the same love that began in the Kokkinos family's kitchen decades ago. Quality has always been at the heart of their work, and the chefs continue to honor these time-honored traditions with every dish served. They are committed to serving healthy and natural traditional homemade Greek food. They use free-range chickens raised with No Antibiotics, grass-fed beef, and 100% Pure Extra Virgin Olive Oil. They opt for healthier alternatives, such as Beef Tallow for all frying needs and only use Pure Sea Salt to enhance the flavors of all dishes. They serve great portions of food for the meals. We had a light breakfast, and it was worth it. If you arrive here hungry, you will not be disappointed. My wife had the Chicken Gyro plate. A delicious blend of seasoned chicken, with a side of moist rice and a Greek House salad, grilled pita, and 2oz. of tzatziki sauce. I ordered a chicken souvlaki lunch plate. It has marinated/grilled chicken souvlaki(10oz.), French fries, and a Greek house salad with hot pita bread and a side of tzatziki sauce. We will be returning customers.
I was truly blown away on my first visit to this restaurant. I was craving Greek cuisine for lunch, and honestly, I didn’t know what to expect in Simi Valley. Since my lady and I were in the mood for that kind of food, I simply asked her to punch in the nearest Greek restaurant, and that’s how we ended up at Greek House Café. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by vibrant authentic Greek music and a warm, friendly hospitality, complete with smiles from who I believe were the owners. They immediately made us feel comfortable, and it honestly felt like we had stepped into a little corner of Greece. Our server, a gentleman named Spirow, was wonderful. He shared with us the heartfelt story behind his family-owned business, and you could feel the authenticity, sincerity, and passion in the way he spoke and served. He guided us thoughtfully through the menu and offered suggestions, which we truly appreciated. When the food arrived, everything changed for us from that moment on, this instantly became our favorite local restaurant in the Simi Valley area. And when I say the food was good… I mean, the food was *really* good. Authentic, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, packed with plenty of meat and salad, leaving us completely satisfied. But what really sealed the deal was the taste; fresh, vibrant, and truly authentic. It felt like we were enjoying a meal straight from the streets of Greece. While I admit I’ve never actually been to Greece, I’ve traveled to many other countries, so I recognize the difference between true authenticity and an Americanized version of a traditional foreign cuisine. This, without question, was authentic. Greek House Café in Simi Valley is, without a doubt, a must-visit dining spot for anyone who loves genuine flavor. When it comes to Greek cuisine, this place has quickly become my lady’s and my absolute favorite.
Absolutely delicious. We've been looking for Greek food like this in Pasadena and just can't find it. The chicken and beef Souvlaki skewers were grilled perfectly. The salads were fresh and nicely dressed. The roasted potatoes were so tender you can cut them with just your fork. Too bad we missed happy hour because the 50% off already low priced wine! Our server was great - super friendly and very attentive. The restaurant itself is bright and nicely decorated. We stopped here on our way back home and now wish we lived closer than 45min away! Edit: We made a point of coming back here on a recent drive home. It was only 10min out of the way and we were happy to come back. The souvlaki and gyro plates are very tasty and very large. The potatoes are a must have as a side. Also the servers here are super nice.
We ordered the Big Fat Greek Party catering pack, plus baklava, for my husband's 60th birthday and it was a big hit with all our guests! We have so much food left over! I wish I would've had business cards. Hopefully, our guests will be your guests soon!
It's been many years since I was last here. I think it was a different Greek restaurant back then. (I later found out that it is the same family, and the son took over, and made it into more of a sit down restaurant) We walked in and was greeted with the desserts in the cabinet. That's dangerous! We sat and ordered. I had the Gyros wrap lunch combo. My wife ordered the gyros plate. We also got the Calamari appetizer. That was amazing! It was very fresh. My Gyros wrap was large, stuffed full, and very tasty. My wife's plate was equally large. She asked for rice and was mistakenly given fries. She mentioned it, and immediately got a plate of rice with no discission. That's how a correction should be done. So the service was great, the food was great and we definitely enjoyed our meal. Definitely a place to try in Simi!
Greek House Café has absolutely fantastic food, I have been going here since it used to be called “It’s Greek to Me” Great gyro sandwiches, and wonderful kebab skewers with lemon potatoes or rice. Plus, I have never had sweeter, crunchier, or more flavorful pita and hummus anywhere! Excellent hideaway nestled behind a 7-Eleven. Don’t miss out on this place. I go there all the time.
Amazing food and friendly service every time! Every item you order here is tasty! Tried the lemon soup 🤌🏽 always get the kabob, pitas, rice, and salad. We have been going here for years, and the restaurant environment just keeps getting bigger and better. The Greek style bring about a feeling in the food. Always clean tables and bathrooms. The owner Spiro is very personable, professional, and nice! My son loves the chocolate kok, but I love the baklava and cheesecake. You can not obtain the baklava any where, but here! Many more memories to come here, thank you to the restaurant owner for his passion, the cooks, and the caring staff for making these tasty times come true
Good golly miss molly! This is my favorite restaurant in all of Simi Valley, my go-to grub. If I ever move away, this will be the eatery i miss the most. Incredible authentic Greek food, super friendly service, and decent prices for the quantity you receive, seriously good portions. I cannot recommend this place enough! The remodel looks amazing and i love that they now have imported Greek beer and wine!
Ordered Chicken souvlaki lunch plate and it was good. Just wondering their in house hummus and Tahini wasn’t that fresh as it felt like frozen. Chicken was awesome and perfectly grilled full of Mediterranean flavour. Expect your order to be ready in 15-20 minutes as it’s prepared fresh.
Great authentic food, friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed every bite. We were a party of 8 and we did not have to wait long Very good service.
I visited this restaurant to pick up some greek food to go. I ordered a gyro sandwich, a chicken soulaki skewer with tzatiki sauce, and a spinokopita. Everything tasted great, the chicken was cooked perfect and the gyro sandwich was well portioned. Will definitely visit again when we're in the area. 👍😋
Got the Village Combo plate with Greek salad, Feta fries and dolma. The village combo plate was awesome and a big enough portion to share or just fill you up! The lamb & beef were delicious, soft and tender. I dont like lamb but thankfully I couldn't tell the difference between lamb & beef. The chicken skewer was good, cooked well & still juicy. Greek salad was delicious, dressing was mild. The tatziki was great and the pita bread was nice and crispy. The dolma was good too, kinda tangy, soft grape leaves and the sauce was tasty. Fries were good but it would've been nice if there was more cheese & it was hot or melted. Washed it all down with a cold Dr Pepper. It's a nice place with cute interior decorations and 6 or so tables inside and outside seating as well. They're in a small plaza with their own parking lot. Staff was nice.
The service was on point, and there was plenty of parking. They were about 20% full and it took 20 minutes to get a to-go order out. Not bad. Rice was good, but cold. Hummus - get taziki instead. Green beans - were decent. Lamb was perfectly seasoned, and delicious. Fries? Skip the fries! Overall this was a good experience, but I will not be back.
High menu prices, Very dry Gyro, Meat was cut thick. French fries was cold; this restaurant uses frozen fries instead of hand-cut. Salad was fresh and fine.Atmoosphere was nothing special. Service was alright.
The Greek House Cafe ..I don't usually complain but tonight.. The Gyro Dinner was Absolutely Horrible.. I even called and spoke with the manager. Ask for if they change the seasoning for any of their food, She said no. I Let her know that just the simple things like my favorite green beans, we're awful and the tsuziki, It was awful, it wasn't just me that felt that way. So disappointed in Dinner Tonight. Then I find out that tony is no longer there.. And asked what people thought online. So I went on the foodie site in Simi. Valley and everybody had problems. I think they need to fix the problem here. Because the place was fantastic. I know, prices have gone up. So has everybody's but the food there was never any complaint. S.D.
Not sure why this place has 4.6 star rating. Food is overpriced, overcooked, dry, oily, and probably rancid. Paid over $60 for two dinner plates. The only thing that tasted decent were the French fries. The meat was either overcooked or recooked more than once, meat was salty, dry, and crunchy, not moist or tender. The pita bread was oily and hard, never had oily pita hard bread before and their hummus tasted sour not like lemon but either old or rancid rather than creamy and savory, like garlic or lemon. Definitely will not be coming back!
