A tad disappointed, I got the Campos Special with pork and my burrito was basically all guac inside, hardly anything solid. I'll give it another shot in the future. Fast service. Good menu prices.
Some of the best chili rellanos I've ever had! Put it in a burrito like I did its great! As a former resident of Simi now living in Bakersfield whenever we get back in Simi it's on our list of stops for food we take home in an ice chest. We will be back!
Absolutely Amazing!!! I went in to get dinner and I had my infant with me. When my food was ready a young man walked me out to my car with my food since I was carrying my little guy. The kindness is beyond heartwarming. Thank you for the amazing customer service!!!
Only problem is that 15 years ago the bacon breakfast burrito was about $3.25 and today its about double the price and seems to be half the size! Still so Good! Hint... order a carne asada burrito, ask for it enchilada style. Add sour cream and guacamole inside the burrito and extra cheese on top. Order just like that and you will not be disappointed. Also their red salsa is the best!
I live in Ohio, married a girl from Santa Monica 45 years ago who had the original Campos down the street. Campos is a must stop whenever we come back to visit her family.
Food was great as always. We called in our order and picked it up
Man the food is always great and for what they charge it is just affordable you get a delicious burrito will fill u up under $12.00 In these economic times can't be beat
This is one of the best Mexican food restaurants in Simi Valley. The burritos are large, delicious, and very inexpensive. Almost everything on the menu is under $10. They serve authentic Mexican fare, not fast food.
This is one of my favorite spots to get a burrito in simi the price is decent I never really stick around to eat place is a bit small but does have a outside patio area which is nice.
Ham,egg, potato and cheese breakfast burrito hits the spot!!!
Best Mexican food ever in Simi Valley. The menu is basic but the food is delicious. The salsa is great the asada Is amazing. Best of all the price is right. Oh before I forget they now take credit and debit. Campos burrito my fav
Food is always great. I come here with a group of Contractors and everyone walks away full and ready for a nap. Combination plates are reasonable price. This is the place to go in Simi for Mexican Food. Cash Only tho.
Stopped in here the other morning before work and enjoyed a beautifully crafted breakfast burrito, made to order. The service was friendly and the flavor was amazing! I'd definitely recommend
Love this place. From breakfast to dinner they cover it all. Their el especial breakfast burrito is simple and perfect. 2 eggs, and carne asada. Great way to start the day. For you carnivores, try the all meat and cheese burritos. Pork or beef, they're both incredible! You get good sized portions too. Be sure to bring cash.
I've been going to Campos since 1982 when they had two Campos in Simi Valley. They have managed to keep the same taste all these years. The place was not to busy at 7pm so the wait was not too long.
Love this little gem. Have breakfast here about twice a month. Great food and fast service I recommend it to all my friends and family to try if they have never been.
My favorite place to eat. My last meal before I joined the corps was here, my first one back on leave, and my last one before I shipped out again. If that doesnt tell you how good this place is, I dont know what will. The best staff, and some of the best food I've ever had.
Been coming to this family run business for 26 years. Very clean, great food, very reasonable prices. It's not a high end restaurant its more a great workman's (or woman!) place to eat. There are a number of campos restaurants around Los Angeles. Their signature burrito is the famous avocado, but they have great carne asada, taco, etc. I like the guacamole but it is a blended type and not the way most restaurants make it.
1st time visit to Campos after being told it was the best Mexican food in Simi Valley. I was very impressed. I had the chicken burrito with guacamole and it was amazing! Plan to visit again real soon.
We love this place. We eat here at least twice a week. Everything on the menu is good. For breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Extremely friendly staff. The best Mexican food in town.
I've been going to Campos for a number of years now. Excellent, authentic.. Great service and food. The best part? Their salsa!!!lol. Everyone agrees.
The food is excellent, but the staff could be friendlier, especially the girl with glasses who works the register in the afternoons. She always looks like she's always having a bad day.
Convenient. Clean. Very tasty food & good portions at reasonable prices. Nice indoor or outdoor seating. The staff are always friendly. Definitely recommend.
Was between a 4 or 5 star, but then when really thinking about it, this is probably our family's most frequented restaurant. Love the convenience of calling an order in and bringing it home. The food is great at a decent price. It used to be really inconvenient when they were cash only, but now they accept cards! One drawback is the small dining area which is why we tend to order in and bring the food home. Overall an excellent option for some tasty food.
As a breakfast burrito connoisseur I can this was definitely among the best in Simi. The Chorizo was tasty and price was phenomenal for its size. Overall really good experience and I will come back again to try more
My favorite burrito!! I like to call ahead for my order, because it's busy during dinner time. But they always have my order ready within 10-15 minutes after calling. Fresh salsa bar too! Their breakfast burritos are also the best in town! Perfect for a quick and tasty burritos and tacos!
This is our go to spot. Always amazing! Went to the one in Santa Monica recently and it didn’t really compare. They used chunks of chicken in their enchiladas instead of shredded chicken, which was not appetizing at all and the enchilada sauce was very salty. I love you guys, always on point. <3 Best campos ever out of all other locations!(: Amazing salsa and the cheese you use is really good. Thanks for being our favorite!
I love this place with all of my heart. Quick, affordable, and satisfying. I recently moved to Simi and was sooo happy when a friend showed me Campos. Avocado Burrito is so darn good, I could eat Campos every single day. My order is usually complicated/ customized and they nail it every time! Side note --- They put out some really awesome salsas around the holidays, I just wish they had them all the time!! :)
My taquito combo was bomb! I've been craving taquitos, good taquitos, for a while now & these were goos as were the rice & beans & chips. My nieces had great food too! This was their 1st time here & they enjoyed it! Give this place a try, you won't be sorry! Fridays are super busy so order early & pick up! Yummmm.....😋
Good quality, portions and cleanliness.
Our favorite Mexican restaurant in town. They are very consistent with lots of great food on the menu. We like to call ahead as the line can be long at dinner time.
I absolutely love this place. I've been coming here for years for the breakfast burritos. They are very reasonably priced and well worth it. I have never had a bad experience here. The employees are always very nice and polite. You can call in and place an order for pickup which is very convenient. I will keep coming here until I move away from Simi.
Great food been going there for over 30 years. Good prices too!
I have been going here since I was like 10 and the quality has always been pretty top notch. Their pickled jalapeno salsa is BOMB.com!!!! Hard shell chicken tacos, the carne asads burrito with a side of sour cream, and even the taquitos covered in guacamole salsa so damn tasty
I eat breakfast/lunch here multiple times a week and it's always amazing! The food, price, and portion sizes make it a great spot for a quick bite. The staff is friendly and I hardly have to wait for my food to be ready -- even when it's busy! One thing that sets Campos apart from other Mexican food places in the area is their salsa bar. The salsa is so good! Please never get rid of this.
I love this place. I'm here whenever I'm in Simi. great food, great price. i recently posted a review for this restaurant, but today what I ordered was not what I usually get. ive been coming here for sometime and today I ordered my usual carnitas and bean burrito. it was small and not the sane. a restaurant is best measured by its quality and. consistently and the last few visits its been questionable. im an ex chef and I look at the overall picture before criticizing, today I had no choice but to give them a thumbs down
If youre a hard shell taco person these are my favorite in simi valley. The nachos are also great. And great prices as well. Nothing crazy just good food!
Asada fries were delicious, good price
Oh my god this place is great. If you're on the fence, this is your sign. Everything is delicious. We got a couple burritos, taquitos, and the best flan I've ever had in my life. HIGHLY recommend. Thank you!!
Yummy tacos but wish they would sell margaritas already!!!!
I have been eating here for 40 years. I love their food.
Been going here since 1991 and never disappoints me, especially hard shell chicken tacos with extra cheese. 🌮
I started eating at Campos in the 1980's in Santa Monica. I was delighted to find one in Simi Valley when I moved my family here. The food has been consistently delicious for 40 years! Ground beef hard shell tacos, the "panzon" burritos (enchilada style) and Chile relleno are some of my families favorites. And don't forget plenty of salsa, which is arguably the best in the world.
Wonderful place for food, the person who took our order was friendly yet most every working there, were not friendly. Either they were busy or not people people. The food was so damn good, totally worth the drive from Las Vegas.
Been forever since I've eaten here, and it still has great food, great service!
Delicious food at great prices! No table service but worth it. $2 street tacos on Tuesdays with choice of meat. The carne asada was very tender. Stopped here after going to the the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Campos has the best carne asada burrito, hands down! The meat is perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor every single time. Always fresh, delicious, and made just right. My go-to spot for authentic Mexican food! 🌯🔥
I always stop by here for breakfast, lunch or dinner when passing through Simi Valley. It's an institution in the area and has many loyal customers. Homestyle food at good prices!
I definitely recommend this place. I don’t normally leave reviews but this place deserves a mention. I’m from Denver, CO and I grew up with Mexican family and Campos reminds me of my favorite Mexican style cooking from the Midwest. Everything I’ve had on their menu has been great. And the staff is really nice and helpful. There may be long lines and a slight wait for your order, but that’s because they’re so busy all the time because their food is so good. It’s definitely worth the wait 😁👍👍
1st time here - XLNT breakfast burritos! Chorizo was perfect - not too greasy, and a nice size for the $$. Pretty ladies with nice big smiles serving doesn't hurt either.
Nice little mom n pops restaurant, fairly small dining area but decent, can take to go, great Mexican food options, expect a limited amount of tortilla chips or pay for more, great Horchata! I LOVE the carnitas. I could live on pork. Simi Valley area is pretty nice. Close to freeway and gas stations. Lots of parking.
Always goes to their pico location but this place is just as good as the other ones. Free refills on all the amazing salsas. Love this place, very authentic!
I love this. It is a guilty pleasure. We used to come here since I was a kid. I can’t believe it’s still in the same location. In fact, I used to live at Bruno Campos home over on Ardenwood! I used to rent out the beautiful apartment that he has custom built over his garage but anyway this place is delicious. I love the smothered enchiladas as I said it is a guilty pleasure. You must try it at least once.
Campos is a solid top-performing burrito factory for Simi Valley. They are reasonably priced, super efficient, use quality ingredients and really keep their salsa tray fresh, clean and loaded up! The restaurant is small but clean and nice enough. The salsas are as good as it gets and the other competitors in town - should give them a try!
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner? Campos Famous Burritos is always a good choice. By far it’s been a local favorite here in Simi Valley for years. The fresh authentic Mexican flavor and quality will quickly make Campos Mexican Restaurant a place you find yourself going often. The staff is extremely friendly and quick. You can walk in and order or call ahead of time for a fast curbside pickup. If you’re dining in consider the nice outdoor patio they have. You won’t be disappointed.
Great place for a breakfast burrito.
I had the all meat asada..and it was tasty. It was literally just the meat and the tortilla so i added the salsa they have on the side. It came out pretty good. They have lots of selections and prices are pretty fair. Only one thing to note is that they only accept cash.
Food is great but the salsa bar is a pain. Tiny containers provided and if you want a larger container instead of 5 or 6 little ones you are charged for it.
Called in an order, arrived at the time they had indicated it would be ready. Took awhile before anyone acknowledged my presence to pay, took another few minutes for my take out to be ready. The panzon and carnitas are excellent. I'll come back for those.
Great nachos and salsa. Wait for order is the only drawback-- since it was so busy. Overall, I was impressed!
Great food nice people and its vary clean...there's little atmosphere more of a To go place i don't like to eat in a fishbowl...rubbing elbows not my thing..at all...
This is a small operation with pretty good prices. Food was decent, I had a burrito with chicken beans and guac. The sauce in top was a bit thin. Another of my party had the enchiladas and told me they were forgettable. All in all fairly good but not a weekly stop.
Good food and prices are not expensive. I am very selective with my food. I would go back when I visit my mom again. I wish there were more locations, but 2 locations is all there is.
I pretty much only come here for their breakfast burritos but dang is that bacon burrito life affirming. I used to get their nachos but haven’t in a while but remember those being pretty top notch as well. In case you haven’t been here for a while, they do accept cards now as opposed to only cash.
Use to be a lot better quality but it’s gone down over the years, and It’s more of a taste quality or lack of salt. They use to make fairly fresh pico de gallo but one day it was gone, and now you have to pay for a huge 8oz container of it. They don’t sell even little containers of it or give you the option to add it to your meal. I’ve been going here for 25+ years. I don’t go as often as I used to.
Giving it only a 3 star because their portion size seems WAT smaller than before. I ordered the Campos all meat burrito and it was more all lettuce and not so much meat. I was actually a bit disappointed 😞 I won't give up on them because most of the time the portions are great, maybe it was whoever handled the food that day. I'll give it another shot and revise my review until then.
This was an incredible disappointment as we usually look forward to eating here every time we visit Simi valley. The service was fast and friendly. The sauce bar was very dirty and low on sauces. When we got our food it was not very good mostly because the rice was so overcooked. Also they clearly have changed their tortilla vendor or supplier because the tortillas weren't special anymore.
The food isn't bad, but I am not excited about returning. They have a salsa bar with jello shot sized containers and charge for anything bigger. You can't dip your chips in them. I ordered guacamole that was mostly sour cream. They are also cash only that might catch some by suprise. Not bad, but not my go to place.
Food was pretty bland, but the service was fast and friendly. I guess it’s good for people who prefer something not as spicy. I tend to prefer things a little spicier. It would have been nice to see salt and pepper available at the very least, but it was clean and efficient.
Food was, is so so, went again! Aweful. All aweful, nachos soggy and cold. Tacos horrible, the only thing that they can cook are beans! Surprised. They can make decent beans! Nothing else, wonder how much longer they stay in business, th
I used to love this place but for the last 3 years or so, the food isn't as good as they used to be, they are VERY bland, made for white people. I used to see mostly hard working Hispanic people stopping in for lunch or dinner, now, I only see white people. There is only green sauce or red sauce, no pico de gallo, no jalapenos, no sliced radish, and no smoked/roasted hot sauce. That's a huge minus for me, might as well go to Taco Bell which I never do.
What happened to this place? Today was the worst experience we have ever had! The staff is terrible!!! The food was not the same. The staff acts bothered by customers. I could barely eat because I was so upset. And making food without gloves?? Normal?
Food is very good but potatoes are a rip-off I ordered extra potatoes on a breakfast burrito and was charged $1.25! Did they get them mixed up with the avocados? Food is very good, staff is courteous, but that is highway robbery.
Place was eh. Burritos are dry and bland, salsa taste like tomato juice with some chilli seads. But for 12$ for a burrito it's not to bad, didn't taste bad just didn't have enough flavor
I got the breakfast burrito, and it was so so. Not worth the price. They also gave other customers their food before me, even though they came after me
The price is the best part to this place. But the quality is average sometimes below average. You have to hassle the workers for salsa and chips which comes with the burritos(sometimes they forget all together). The size of the burritos has significantly become smaller. I think its because this way they can continue to charge "affordable" prices yet continue to disappoint in the food quality. At least they accept cards now.
Loved this place, good food. One BIG complaint - employees in the kitchen MUST wear gloves! They are touching our food with their bare hands before we put the food into our stomach! I stopped going there for this single reason. Owner please make them wear gloves immediately!
I used to come here a lot. Loved the burritos. However, the past 3 times I went there, I got huge attitude from the girl taking orders. The customers in front of me were treated extremely well and friendly. I get to the front of the line and received a cold fake greeting. The girl taking orders was CLEARLY bothered that I was even there. She wanted me out of there asap. So, the other day when I go there, this same girl was on the phone taking an other, and she interrupted her call to stare at me, looking at me up down with a really dirty look and frowning. Then paused and went back to her phone call. Now, when I go out to eat anywhere, I treat all of the employees with nothing but respect. I'm never rude in any way. So I don't think I need to be singled out and treated differently than other customers. I was told by a few people not to go there because I'm Caucasian and won't get the same type of service as others. Well I didn't believe that at the time, but now I think it may be true because of the dirty looks and attitude I get when I go there. I even went there with a friend, who is Hispanic and was still treated differently. Such a shame because I do like there food, but I feel super uncomfortable just walking in there because it's obvious they have "selective" customer service habits.
Food was good but chintzy with the salsa. Asked for five red salsas on my last trip and got three (how do you eat a Carne Asada burrito with three tiny salsa cups?) with attitude to boot. They know how to treat loyal customers don't they? DNPA (Do Not Patronize Again).
Came here because my husband said the food was great and he knows how much I love a good burrito but my experience here was terrible. Came in happy to try this place out only to have a girl with glasses and a septum piercing ruin the experience with her rudeness. I’ll never come to a place that is so uninviting again.
The worst breakfast burrito I've ever had! It's an older place and shows it! I'll never return to this mediocre place. Even though I'm not too far from it and walk from my apartment on Cochran, I'll just go Tommy's Burger, where their breakfast burrito is the best and have been buying it since the 80's in the San Fernando Valley restaurant across the street from the Budweiser Brewery facility.
They used to be good. They pulled their pico bar and started adding too many beans to their breakfast burritos in an attempt to save money. They are garbage now.
