Very nice and attentive service, food service is quick and no one I have ever taken there from family or work is ever disappointed. Prices are good, less expensive or equal to other local Asian sit down eateries plus they have a nice bar service.

Should have never tried their stupid food... now I can't stop coming back! Just ordered from them for the third time in the last couple weeks. They have great gluten free options, the delivery is fast, and if you're eating in, the dining area is absolutely beautiful. Only downside is that the parking gets tight during busy hours.

Gold Coin is the best Chinese in the area. Food is always fresh and always delicious. They cook to order so they will accommodate special requests whenever possible. I didn't dine in this time, but I have many times before and the service is always excellent and I always feel appreciated. Highly recommend!

We were a party of 9 for our granddaughter's birthday. She loves chicken lo mein! The combination dinners are a bargain! A variety of entrees, soup, egg roll and fried rice for one reasonable price! Friendly and prompt service.

This has been my favorite Chinese restaurant for years, particularly for their Egg Foo Young, and crab rangoon. It's been great both when dining in-house, or ordering delivery. They're closed on Tuesdays, and there have been more than a few Tuesdays that I had wished they were an option!

I love the community feel here, no matter what they remember you. The food is amazing and the ambiance is very calming. They offer free wifi, hot green tea, and fried wonton strips. This is just the start of why you should visit this place. The menu will not disappoint but instead leave you questioning whether you want something you typically would get or want to try something new. Service is always beyond expectations, portions are large, and you are never rushed or pressured for anything. The food is always fresh. Don't forget to order a drink from Mike.

Went here tonight for dinner! We were seated quickly and immediately were served water, a kettle of hot tea, and wonton chips with duck sauce and mustard. They took our drink order and food order quickly and everything came out so fast!! And it was delicious food. The service was incredibly friendly and efficient. I had an app, an entree and a dessert for a reasonable price! I will definitely be going back!

Ordered take out: Two combination General Tso’s, Crab Rangoon, we got two containers of a chicken/broccolli/peppers/mushroom/peas with gravy, ONE carton of white rice, no egg rolls, crab Rangoon pastry the size of a nickel. We called when we got home and were told they changed our order from combination to “regular”.. Regular what? That was NOT General Tso’s. $67 into the trash. Never again….we got the correct orders from Bamboo Garden in Altamont…we will never stray again.

This restaurant is a like a time machine of American-Chinese restaurants. Hot mustard and duck sauce for dipping fried noodles in bowls on the table. The table set with placemats explaining the Chinese Horoscope. Sliver teapot, with tiny little cups. A menu that would have been on the table in the 1960s. Food was all the classics. Well prepared and tasty. Prices were good, and they have lunch specials for $10. Try it out, you'll like it.

Ordered from here for the first time after finding out they can do gluten free. My husband (celiac) and I both got special combos (sesame chicken and orange chicken) gluten free and we had plenty of leftovers. The GF fried chicken was great and held the sauce well (it was actually breaded too and not just sautéed chicken). Also, because the egg rolls aren’t GF they gave an extra pint each of the roasted pork fried rice. I’ve seen complaints / reviews about the fried rice being too ‘white’ and it definitely is on the lighter side but I found it to still be flavorful and chock full of the roasted pork! They also provide GF soy sauce packets for your to-go order. We will definitely be ordering from here again!

We have been to the Gold Coin numerous times and ordered takeout a couple of times. my family enjoys it. The pan fried noodles are very good and something I’m not used to being offered on a regular basis. The noodles and fried rice dishes are top-notch. The vegetable domain, however, could use a few more vegetables. I have never gotten anything that I didn’t really enjoy.

They gave me a beautiful tasting meal. I was very pleased. I pick up from here whenever it's convenient.

Been coming here for many many years. As always food is good but have noticed a slight decline in consistency. Dishes are prepared slightly different each time. Usually dine there once a month. They switched away from egg rolls to a pre-made spring roll.....not good. Should not mess with a good product. Will still go but have some genuine concern about this places future.

I don't normally get my Chinese food from this store I normally get it from West wok in Glenmont, I decided to get it from the store because I heard their food taste better. I will agree their food does taste better than West wok however their prices are a lot higher, they're egg rolls were extremely good I got the shrimp ones and every bite had a piece of shrimp which was nice. Their sesame chicken however did have a different taste that I was not used to and was not fond of. I may go back again when I miss I have extra money otherwise I'll just keep going to West wok and paying less money for not so good of food

The food is very good and the portions are large. Service is kind of slow. The restroom is clean but the toilet paper has a stopper on the roll which restricts the roller from dispensing more than 3-4 squares of 1 ply paper. There was also no hot water and you had to hold down the water knob to wash your hands.

This place has great food and a variety of options if you're looking for Chinese food. I enjoyed the General TSO chicken order. The meals are tasty, delicious, amazing and scrumptious. The prices for the food are affordable around the prices of $15-$30 for a meal. The best time to pick up a meal is early evening before business picks up after 6pm. I recommend it for date nights.

The food at Gold Coin Restaurant tastes different than "normal" Chinese take-out, which isn't a bad thing but doesn't make it amazing either. The prices are higher than other Chinese Food restaurants around the area. It always seems clean and organized when you go into the waiting area and bar.

She ain't what she used to be. Just average food. OK service and really no atmosphere to speak of. Dumplings were awful but the other dishes were alright. Not rushing back.

The 1st time I went there the service and food were good. The 2nd time I ate there the food and service were bad. The atmosphere is very pleasant and comfortable.

We went there the other night and it was dead. We ordered take out and sat at the bar and had some drinks while we waited for the food to be cooked. The drinks were amazing, and just what we needed after a long day at work. Our food came out we paid (a little pricey if you ask me), said thank you and left. When we got home and ate our food we weren't all that impressed. The food didn't even make good leftovers. We will be back for drinks and maybe egg rolls.

The place is easy to find and they have parking but it’s not much. The food smelled better than it looked. The broccoli was good. The pork fried rice was not what I’m used to. It didn’t taste appetizing either. But the sauce(garlic sauce) was good so I smothered the rice in it and made do. I wouldn’t order anything from here but broccoli going forward. Food was good BUT the waiter ignored two people at the table. He was kind but he was rude ignoring my mother at the table she asked him three times for a ginger ale and he just spoke over her. My dad had to like stop him and say she needs a refill of ginger ale, the waiter said okay. He gave the refill when we were leaving also they took the food she didn't eat in the back and gave her a small take home box, when she barely ate the full plate of food. So it was just not good. It wasn't a great experience, the food and atmosphere was okay things were clean. This was the first time my parents went there in 15 years, and we won't go back. Even if they have a 'great lunch' special. I mean maybe the waiter was having a bad day but it wasn't a cool experience.

I haven't eaten here for 3 year's because the level of food changed from delicious to bland, I'm not sure if the original chef changed, so I stopped becoming a regular customer. A few days ago I decided to give GoldCoin another chance after 3 year hiatus, my neighbor expressed the food improved. I'm happy to give Gold Coin another chance,salt and pepper shrimp was fresh and delicious, spare ribs was a bit dry, but good,wonton soup had nice texture but lacked meat filling,house special fried rice was delicious eventhough light on seasoning,needs more seasoning,overall everything was fresh and with extra care and attention to seasoning, food should not be bland,food should always be tasty. GOLD Coin has improved 100th percent and I hope it continues to become the old gold Coin and make delicious food,I will keep coming back.

Ordered a couple of dishes. One was moo sho gai pan. Got home and it was egg fun yong. Food tasted ok.

I placed an order over the phone. When I arrive to pick it up it is $21, I ask to add 2 cans of soda (12 oz) he then goes over to the calculator and comes back and says my bill is now $33. How do 2 cans of soda make my bill jump up $12.

Placed an order for delivery and should have been $21.02+ tax. When I got the bill it was over $30. NONE of the prices on the online menu corresponded to the bill. One dish was $3 more than the price listed on the dinner menu. Additional $5 for delivery (not a deal breaker) but on top of EVERY DISH being more than the price listed on the menu it was a little much. Won't do this again. I recommend they update their online menu pricing or risk alienating customers with a bait and switch.

I did take out. Prior to going I looked at the menu online and was going to order deliver but didn't because of the fees and figured I could save some money if I just went and picked it up. I ordered chicken moo shoo and house egg foo young. If I ordered online it would have been $21 and change but I ordered it in restaraunt and when I went to pay was told it was $25.90. That is not from tax. When I questioned why it was cheaper online, I was told, they just changed their prices. That didn't sit well with me. This is only my 2nd time going there as my regular chinese spot does not make moo shoo anymore. I will say the House egg foo young was delicious. I like it a lot but the moo shoo chicken was watery, bland and didn't have mushrooms. Just cabbage, chicken and egg. For a $13 dish I would have expected it to be better. I would love to say I will return for the egg foo young but my place makes it just as good and cheaper. If they gave their moo shoo a little more attention I would certainly return but not for that amount of money for a bland dish and a price switch. I believe the many posts about bland food.

Our order included Garlic Broccoli, Szechuan Bean Curd and vegetable egg rolls. The rolls were very good. The other dishes were bland. The broccoli was undercooked with overly long stalks. Delivery was fast and courteous.

Accurate and fast, reasonably priced, unfortunately bland and mediocre tasting. Fried rice is white for some reason. Pork eggrolls have no discernable pork in them. Sauces watery and uninspired.

5 people 5 different entrees 5 people disappointed lots of leftovers house chow fun was a block of noodles, one veg lomein no taste, chicken lomein 3/4 left uneaten sesame and general tso chicken I'm hungry I'm eating it even though tasted noting like what it was supposed to. Sesame chicken had no sesame flavor other than a few seeds, pork wonton so dry and I swear one that I ate had no filling. I can't eat the Chinese around anymore.

Went for dinner on July 3 2024 with my wife. Everything was great accept the sesame chicken was tough as leather it was clear they didn't marinade or tenderized the chicken in the past the chicken was always very very tender but it looks like someone forgot the tenderize the chicken it was very tough I hope it doesn't happen again. Went again,the rice,chicken, and cookies were bad. 1) rice had no seasoning no soy sauce light or dark. it was just white rice with no flavoring. 2) The tenderize chicken compair to other places and the last time eating here I will give a rating of 3 or 4 for tenderized 3) the cookies were still. my conclusion they were going cheat on flavoring the rice and tenderize the meat and fresh cookies. 3 star at best.

I have Celiac and heard Gold Coin prepares food Gluten Free. We ordered about $67 worth of food for my birthday. Andy is a great guy, I saw him while picking my food up. I was very disappointed with the quantity of anything aside from the broccoli in my meals. Among other things, I ordered chicken with broccoli in garlic sauce and beef with broccoli. The meal you see is what I received for my beef with broccoli. It was 95% broccoli. I hope this isn’t normal practice. But unfortunately I think it may be. Both broccoli orders were the same amount of broccoli to meat ratio.

The food is bland and tasteless. Ordered delivery for 2, about $50 total with the tip. The order was quick overall, call experience was good. The problem is that the food is terrible. The crab rangoons were so small. Overall, the whole experience felt like the restaurants orders the cheapest quality products, throws them in the freezer and microwaves them before serving to customers.

I do not know what these people are doing in that kitchen but it is not making food. We ordered delivery which came alarmingly quickly and was fully inedible. It was like if an alien crash landed on earth and was immediately tasked with having to make Chinese food.

Bland food with no flavor clearly not traditional. Also, ordered the combination and they refused to give me the egg rolls. I'd rather eat from the gas station next door.

Worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. The General Tso was flavorless and was literally 13 quarter size pieces of chicken. The fried rice didn’t seem to be fried at all, seemed more boiled. Fried dumplings, Flavorless. Wonton soup, Flavorless. Absolutely pitiful!!! They should be ashamed to send that out of there restaurant.

I just called to order for pick up.It was clear from the moment the gentleman pick up the phone, that he was annoyed. He put me on hold, but forgot to mute the phone. He was then very audible with frustration in the form of very loud grunt. Then his co worker in the background complaining about grub hub. Meanwhile I am listening to them go back and forth, and then he gets back on the phone and he still very annoyed that I called. So annoyed that I had to repeat my name twice. At this point I was already discussed with the service that I didn’t even order food. In the future mute the phone, and fix the attitude.

I have ordered from Gold Coin many times. In the past, the food was always excellent. However, the last 2 orders were not good. Chicken was rubbery and honestly didn't taste like chicken. Last meal was supposed to be General Tsao. Not even close. Very bland even though it's listed on the menu as spicy. Will not order from here again. Prices are too high for what you get or don't get. Wasn't what I had planned for tonight's dinner

I had to sit at the bar and wait for my order. Why was this individual allowed to hold on to a paying customers order and not get it made? Who was he?The individual never made eye contact with me or said sorry for your inconvenience.He acted like he was doing me a favor. I called it in so it would be ready in ten minutes. not so more like 30 plus.minutes. The bartender did offer to buy me a beer but that was it. Unacceptable service and shady people hanging around bar. I think gold coin has lost my business, you are not the only restaurant in town and remember, I choose to give you my business.

This is the most disgusting food I have ever had in my life. I had to throw it out immediately. Not one thing was edible. I got fried rice with sesame chicken and I have never seen fried rice white as snow before and it tasted horrible. The chicken almost made me throw up because it still smells like raw chicken and tastes disgusting. Like I couldn’t even stand the smell of the food. Honestly the worst food experience. Please do not go there. It is a waste of money and you will regret it. The crab rangoons were beyond bland. But I wish the food was just bland but no, it’s the most disgusting thing you will ever put in your mouth. Do fall for it.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Spent over $70 on take out for two people that was completely inedible. This is the first time I've ever seen white fried rice, which to no surprise had absolutely no flavor, the beef & broccoli had no sauce but a drip of juice in the bottom of container. The sesame chicken did not look or taste like chicken, it was beaten to a pulp and flat most likely just breading. The lo mein looked like linguini and had no flavor either. The owner offered a $20 credit to fix a $70 mistake. Would not recommend to anyone, did not even feed the food to my dogs.

My daughter was excited to visit this restaurant due to her having celiac. She drove 30 minutes to get here. She did not enjoy the flavor of the food. She communicated this to the owner. His answer was, I don't need your business and don't come back to my restaurant. I called him and in a Macho response he said yes I did. Very frustrated. Is this how you treat a young customer? Sad. I even asked him, how would you feel if someone treated your child like this.

I got some food for pick up and it was really, really bad. The fried rice was some white rice with a little bit of soy sauce sprinkled on top. The sesame chicken was leathery, bland, and soggy. The food smelled strange. I actually threw the food out. The environment is also kind of uncanny. You walk in and are immediately greeted with a bar, with what appeared to be regulars, all sitting and staring at you as you pick up your food. The one thing I will give them credit on is that they were very kind and had excellent service.

Just ordered food from here and I must say it was terrible. I never saw white fried rice in my life, the boneless spareribs were tasteless, basically everything was tasteless. Would not recommend them. Ocean Palace in Albany is 100% better.
