First time eating here and the food and service was excellent , I had the special penne pasta w/artichoke pesto topped with grilled chicken breast and it was superb
Diamond Back Grill is one of my favorite places to eat. The waitresses are great, really enjoyed eating there. Very friendly atmosphere. My Scottie enjoyed their food as well 💕💕
Delicious lunch. We shared the pulled pork sandwich (best I've ever had!) and the flat iron salad with bleu cheese dressing. Both were great. A real special place across the street from a stream than runs right under the town.
The burgers here are large and cooked to perfection. This establishment is one of our favorites and we go there everyone we are in the area. The servers are normally really good and I've even emailed the owners to let them know how good service was. Try the southwest chicken sandwich you won't regret it.
The service was great. We not only felt welcome, but wanted. The food was amazing. The fries were great, but the sandwich I had, the Heaven, was fabulous. It's in my top 5 best ever sandwiches. I really want to be back and try one of the burgers next. I highly recommend this place for a nice casual lunch or dinner. I took pictures but Google posted them separately. However I'm posting my sandwich again because it was so good.
Nestled right on Washington Street in historic Sonora, Diamondback delivers big on both atmosphere and flavor—especially with dishes like the Southwest Grilled Chicken Sandwich (we couldn’t resist adding crispy applewood-smoked bacon) and the Braised Pork Tostada. Southwest Grilled Chicken Sandwich + Bacon The tender, marinated chicken breast arrives perfectly char-grilled, with just enough smoky char to complement the bright poblano-lime aioli. Piling on bacon was a stroke of genius: it adds salty crunch without overpowering the other elements. Each bite combines juicy chicken, melty cheese creating a “southwest fiesta” in your mouth. Braised Pork Tostada The house-braised pork falls apart at the touch of a fork, richly flavored from hours of slow cooking in their signature ancho-chipotle broth. Lay atop a crisp, house-fried tortilla,-bright notes that cut through the pork’s savory depth. You’ll taste hints of orange zest and toasted cumin in every forkful. Quality & Presentation Both dishes arrive artfully plated—nothing over-garnished, but each component feels thoughtfully placed. Portions are generous (you’ll leave full and satisfied), and the ingredients consistently taste as fresh as they look. Overall Diamondback’s blend of down-home comfort and inventive flavor profiles shines through on every plate. If you’re in Sonora and craving a bold, well-executed sandwich or a tostada that hums with layered spice, you can’t go wrong here. Highly recommend pairing your meal with a glass of wine for the ultimate Sonora dining experience.
Service starts at the front door! While waiting for the rest of our party to walk up the street, the hostess came outside to greet us and welcome us and ask us if we were interested in coming in. A real class act! Upon arrival we were seated with a nice view of the outdoors and were promptly greeted by our server. Everything was superior. The food, the service, the ambiance, portions and price. No complaints whatsoever. Two members of our party are vegetarian. There were many menu options to pick from. On the walls local artists display their work! The employees really know their craft and it’s clear they are a well oiled team. Highly recommend
This place had an amazing burger and timely service in downtown Sonora! Despite it being a busy weekend, I was still greeted with a cheerful smile and quick service! Only thing that wasn't perfect was the garlic fries. They smelled amazing when I got them at my table, however after eating them they tasted like 2% garlic and 98% unseasoned fries, so next time I will probably try the onion rings!
Great atmosphere and service. Portions are huge and delicious. The Brie salad is super tasty and the Bison Burger is a must. All the staff is super kind and always ensuring their guests have a good experience. The terrace is very nice and quiet during the night. I am traveling all over Americas and Europe. We had a Reservation for 8 lastnight, the timing was prompt and our server was so sweet & attentive. The cozy vibe made up for any minor order/meal mishaps. Possibly due to busyness during their dinner hours. *Fries are delicious- garlic, regular & sweet potato.
The decor was quite rustic in that the walls were not surfaced from the old original building wall and plaster. It was done nice with some holiday decor. The burgers were the best thing on the menu. The service was very slow and not very attentive. Meet the owner and he was friendly.
In town for two nights. Had dinner here from hotel staff recommendation. Did not disappoint and was blown away at the size of the servings of dishes passing us as we got seated. The garlic fries and onion rings servings were huge. Then we saw the fish and chips passed our table. The size of the fish atop of a mountain of chips was like a 10 inch slab of cod. So impressive. Now our food, we came for two dishes that attracted us on the menu - artichoke hearts and baked Brie salad. You hardly find fried artichokes in restaurants these days. They were both excellent and lots of them.Light battered chunks of artichoke hearts with a garlic aioli dip. The baked Brie was served on a bed of dressed chicory leafy greens and cubed spiced apple. Again, the portion was ample. For entrée we shared their pulled pork which comes with a cup of light creamy chicken ranch soup. It’s also very unusual n tasty. The pulled pork was too sweet n mushy. Seems like it’s reheated many times. This is the only disappointed dish. Our dishes came without much wait at all for a busy time. The service was excellent and our server, Carrann, was friendly and helpful. She was a delight. Our overall experience was a good one. The dining room was full for a Monday evening. Keep up the good work.
This was my first time here. I liked the style in the restaurant. It was very laid-back. I went with the bison, burger and salad. There is a spot to sit outside next to the restaurant, but tables are limited. Next time I would like to be able to sit out there however, there is plenty of seating inside the portion sizes are really big and you don’t get cheated on your burger.
We were seated immediately and enjoyed our food. (There is usually a wait.) The burgers are cooked to your liking. You can half the fries with salad. The buttermilk salad dressing is very yummy! Son got Asian ribs with sweet potato fries and the rib meat just fell from the bones. Daughters grilled cheese bacon sandwich was stacked with thick cut bacon. An enjoyable evening.
Our food was delicious, but the service was pretty poor to the point that it honestly put a damper on our entire experience. I'd still be willing to try it again on the basis of the food. They charge per refill on fountain drinks, which the server didn't tell us, so that was a bit of a bummer and surprise on the final bill.
Come for the salads and sweet potato fries, but maybe steer clear of the grill. The greens were fresh and flavorful, and the fries were the star of the show. The burgers are okay—typical pub fare While they lack draft beer, the fridge is well-stocked with plenty of choices. Unfortunately, the steak was a workout for my jaw; it was dry and full of tendons.
Recently, I ordered a bison burger at this restaurant. I requested to have the burger cooked medium well and after taking a few bites, I realized it was extremely undercooked, so much in fact that I asked if I could get a new burger. Upon receiving my new burger, I realize that I had a new bun, I had new condiments and toppings, however, it was a cooked version of the burger that I had already taken bites out of. I was disappointed because although a burger can be undercooked, I was surprised that they simply put my burger back on the grill and then reserved it.
Grabbed a "Swiss mushroom burger" from here with a side of sweet potato fries. Other than a nice atmosphere and excellent service this place is absolutley NOT 4 star worthy! Order took over 30min to get to me and the place was not even half full. My drink was flat/ bland and not once was i offered a refill. The burger was THE most bland boring uninspiring burger I've ever had. It wasn't bad per say, it just tasted like cardboard. And to add insult to injury it came with a SINGLE SLICE of Swiss cheese which wasn't even melted. The mushrooms tasted stale/ old and are probably the Grocery Outlet special. On a $18 burger this just doesn't fly! Honestly wouldn't send my mother in law there. DO BETTER! MUCH MUCH BETTER!
