I often drive to and through Sonora and finding food that everyone agrees on is hard. As we were arguing with the kids about what to eat, we pulled up to Mountain Mike's at lunch time for a buffet. Was greeted by Andrew and while there wasn't a big selection of pizza ready to feast on, he asked if there was any toppings that we would like to be made. Surely, kids wanted Hawaiian and we wanted the combo. After a few minutes of munching on some fantastic and clean salad from the salad bar along with a few slices of pizza that was bakes earlier, Andrew brought out the fresh pizza's along with one of the best bacon garlic bread ever. What allowed me to enjoy the salad was the packets of Ken's dressing. Must have been the cleanest and freshest salad bar I've ever seen from a pizza buffet bar. The service was fantastic and the place was spotless. Worth the stop.

My daughter and I are there and it was fabulous. Really good food and friendly staff with excellent above and beyond service. They have a new owner now and a wonderful staff. No one rude works here anymore.

Stopped by Mountain Mikes while traveling today and had the best service I’ve received in California! We were a little late to the lunch buffet but she allowed us to still eat the buffet and offered to make fresh pizzas for us! Even sent us home with the leftovers of all the pizzas on the buffet! Can’t recommend this place enough the pepperoni pizza and salad bar were great!

Stopped by Mountain Mikes while traveling today and had the best service I’ve received in California! We were a little late to the lunch buffet but she allowed us to still eat the buffet and offered to make fresh pizzas for us! Even sent us home with the leftovers of all the pizzas on the buffet! Can’t recommend this place enough the pepperoni pizza and salad bar were great!

Two years ago I gave this place 5 stars saying:Clean, friendly, and located in the middle of town. Online order went smoothly, and the pizza way hot when I got it. What more could you ask for? Today I went in for the lunch buffet and was greatly disappointed. Pizza was hard and unappealing. The salad had the texture of previously frozen veggies. 2 dogs ran around the dining room and tried to get on my lap. When questioned the staff said they were their dogs. Most likely will not return.

There are new owners at Mountain Mike's. I believe the pizza is better now. They seem to be friendly and helpful and it's always a comfortable place to sit down and have some food. ...Update... this place has gotten worse . I know they are understaffed but without good pizza, a pizza parlor isn't worth the trip in. I won't try it again, I'm done

Place was quiet compared to similar businesses in the area. Waitstaff was efficient, accommodating, and friendly. No corrections were needed for any of our party's orders, the amount of red sauce on mine was a bit excessive, but other than that, I have no complaints. Salad bar is standard fare for a restaurant of this type, nothing special, but nothing to complain about either. A good experience overall.

Their pizza is good, the prices are okay, I have not found any employees who are very helpful. On my visit yesterday, one of the employees was having the same problem that most of us customers face. The pizzas on the buffet weren't cut good enough to get one piece. I helped him by holding down the one next to it. I wonder if that will make him more careful? The main reason that I go here is because the nearest Round Table doesn't have a lunch buffet.

TL;DR Good pizza, good service, TERRIBLE LUNCH BUFFET. My wife and I really enjoy the Mt. Veggiemore which is the only reason I'd give it three stars. I'm vegetarian, and went for the lunch buffet thinking I'd eat a good salad and have a few pieces of pizza, and this solidified my three star rating. First the salad bar: 1 star just because they have it. The lettuce was old enough to be changing color, the tomatoes tasted rotten, and half of the ingredients looked like they had been sitting out for at least a day. Next the pizza: 2 stars because it can be good. You'd think a pizza place would at least offer a cheese, or some sort of non-meat pizza. I even went and asked if a vegetarian pizza was on the way and the girl said "we can make one." I spent a half an hour waiting, and finally a half meat lovers/half pineapple and jalapeno with white sauce came out. I'm not super picky so I ate the pineapple/jalapeno, but by the time I left it had been an hour of me sitting around and mostly munching the bread sticks and salad while waiting for a pizza. I'd be disappointed even if I ate meat. By the time a new pizza would come out, the other pizzas were all but gone. It's more of a "just in time" buffet rather than a buffet with good options. Finally, I'm giving it three stars because I have ultimately had good customer experience. I incorrectly ordered a mountain size pizza in the online app once and they replaced it with the one I wanted free of charge. I'll keep ordering custom pizzas, but until something changes this will be my last stop at the lunch buffet!

The soda dispenser is disgusting. The spillage trough is filled with disgusting slime. The water tasted like mold.

Update 3/30/2033: well, new management, same issues. The staff is friendly, there's just nowhere close to enough of them. I've come in 4x this month for the lunch buffet, and while the food is good, there seems to constantly be not enough pizza out, as the staff is trying desperately to fulfill orders as well as the buffet. I can only imagine how it is in the evening when they would be busiest. I feel really bad for them, as I know how it can be running short staffed, and I applaud them for the effort they are giving. Update 8/29/22: I was pleasantly surprised today, I decided after many years, to give them a shot again, and not only was the service quick and friendly for being short staffed, best of all, my pizza was awesome! They did not skimp my toppings, it was cooked perfectly, and was all around great! The salad bar was set up kinda weird, with the lettuce just left of center with some toppings on each side, doesn't really flow very well, but everything was fresh and I was very happy with that! I'll very likely come back again, and now would definitely recommend this restaurant again. After having issues with being shorted toppings by previous management, I was assured by the new manager that this wouldn't be a problem. I have gone twice now this year, and BOTH times, I was very much shorted. They have advertising pictures of pepperoni pizzas all over, both on their windows and in all forms of media, yet when I order a DOUBLE pepperoni, I get even LESS than what the picture ads are showing is a standard pepperoni!! First time, I complained and was given an apology and a 25% coupon for my next visit. Today, I go back, and have the exact same problem. Well, fool me twice, shame on you. I wouldn't recommend this establishment at all, unless you like paying top dollar for substandard pizza.

So I work in sonora I travel sometimes I forget my lunch and have to eat out. I've eaten here a handful of times. I have even talked to the man who owns it. He's very kind and that day service was great. Lately not sure what's happening but my customer service has not been good. The salad bar today was not looking good or healthy when I asked for fresh salad I got a dirty look and she walked away. Also pizza for buffet was slim to none I asked for more and I felt it was a big inconvenience I won't be coming back

I had 3 small issues at Mountain Mikes in Sonora. First, the service was poor from the woman who took my order and served my food. She was rude, with a frown, and no specific care for the customer. Second, the quality of the toppings on the pizza were far below par of the price of my pizza, soggy mushrooms, clumpy cheese, and oily pepperoni. Lastly, a lack of creativity on the menu. No deep dish pizzas, no cal-zones. Just average pizza combinations with "cheesy Mountain" names. There are some days I would rather go to Little Caesars. Oh and one more thing, have you ever heard of temperature control? Try keeping the whole restaurant cooler than the oven.

The WORST FOOD IN THE COUNTY!! Placed a order yesterday for delivery for over $42.00 , Was supposed to be for 1 pound of boneless chicken wings and they only sent the half pound size which arrived COLD! SO I WAS SHORTED ALMOST $10.00 on that besides being COLD. Also I ordered a large garlic cheese sticks and paid for extra cheese, extra garlic and extra bacon. They put NONE OF THE EXTRAS ON EVEN THOUGH I PAID FOR THEM ALMOST $7.00 MORE! They arrived almost burned so crisp I could hardly chew them. The driver Kyle said don't worry when I told him I wanted a refund. He said he was a stand up guy ,a man of his word. NOT TRUE ,I WOULDN'T BELIEVE HIM IF HIS LIPS CAME NOTARIZED. I THEN CALLED THE MANAGER WHO WAS VERY RUDE. SHE REFUSED TO REPLACE OR REFUND ME THE MONEY. I called to get pizza delivered to the office at 9am the women on the phone had no idea what she was doing. After the excruciating process of getting the contact information correct (after being insulted twice that I had a “tone”) I asked about a coupon that they usually always honor & she gave me to someone else who rudely stated “as she said we don’t honor online coupons” the first women sounded like a tweaker. I then made an order online, no coupon (the online coupon wasn’t working) then when I called on my order status (at 12pm the expected delivery time) they took it upon themselves to cancel my order after I was charged & given a confirmation email. I called & there was no offer to make & deliver the pizza anyways. I was uncomfortable & have never had a bad experience with mountain Mike’s before. I ordered from them at least twice a month. Because of this I will never order mountain Mike’s again. Now I’m waiting to see if my refund is processed . Worst service I’ve ever had.*** in response to the owner** I did call around 6:30 to talk to someone, I spoke to the actual manager who was very kind & explained that the women who sounded like a drug addict was not the manager (as she told me), took my number & told me the owner would contact me shortly. Did not receive a call. I ordered from round table pizza & they are delivering at noon tomorrow they have great customer service & that makes all the difference.

Called on 03/23/22 at approx. 2:00pm to inquire about what size pizzas they have. Specifically the diameter to determine how many pies and what sizes to order for a large and diverse group. The incredibly rude guy who answered said he had no idea and did not have a protractor to check....! Protractors measure angles(degrees), and not diameter....This has to be the first time in history that someone who sells pizza, was clueless about the sizes they offer. He went on to say that depending on the size, the slice count would increase with larger pizzas. Really, did you figure that out on your own? I needed to explain to him that different restaurants, cut their pies in a variety of sizes, and as such the slice count would vastly vary, so the number of slices is irreverent. He was unable to comprehend this notion. With all the other options for pizza in the area, I'll take by business elsewhere along with my money. I would encourage you to do the same.

Response to “owner”: Why would I want to contact your store management when they are not following State Law regarding food safety? It was only my wife and 2 children for lunch today at 1:00. We got the lunch buffet. Only half of one cold pizza was out and they said they would make us a fresh one. 20 mins pass and I asked where it was. The staff was so high they said they “forgot” Again, only people in there. I asked for a refund because we ran out of time and had to leave. They refused. Since they wasted my time and money I’ll be sure to post this everywhere.

Called 3 times to try place a order for pick up. Phone just rang and rang each time. Get down here to place my order and now I have to wait. You'd think they were busy, the place is a ghost town. I can see why the reviews are so bad

Worst pizza I ever had. This isn't pizza. Sauce is sour. Pepperoni was burnt. Plus $20 for a large pie. Omg

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We placed our order for delivery and were told we would have it in 30 minutes. 1 hour later we had to call and we were told that someone messed up on the delivery time and were supposed to call us and never did. Then we were told that our order was in the oven and we would have it in about 45 minutes. So that would be 1 hour and 45 minutes for 1 pizza that we were told we would have in 30 minutes. Complete Incompetence. I would give them a minus 10 if I could.

A friend and I went in to grab lunch real fast, figured the lunch buffet would be decent. WRONG! I got a salad, and found it a bit odd all the dressing was in packets, but the ranch, but didn’t pay much attention to anything else. Made my salad, unfortunately, without paying much attention to my plate. Went back to grab a couple slices of pizza and sat down. I put the dressing on, mixed it up and took a bite. It was slimy, transparent lettuce that I couldn’t spit out fast enough. Figured I’d just not eat salad and took a bite of the pizza which was ice cold and had a cardboard texture. I talked to the guy working and showed him which brought on a bunch of excuses and an act of total shock. He offered to make me a pizza,which we declined! It was old NASTY food! Needless to say I paid 30$ for a half a soda, a bit of cold pizza, and slimy mush salad. Don’t eat here unless you want food poisoning

I ordered a pizza on DoorDash at 7:24 a got confirmation that it would arrive at 9:01-9:12. That’s a long wait but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. That time kept changing to later and later until it reached 9:34-9:44! I contacted DoorDash and Mike’s Pizza had canceled my order. They didn’t tell DoorDash and weren’t closed for takeout until 10. Kinda late to be eating dinner and not having an option anymore. There’s no excuse for treating the customer this way for a nearly $50 pizza!

Terrible customer service. We came in around 6:30pm on a Sunday. The manager told us since they are backed up that they would not be able to take our order. What kind of service is that? I'm sure the owner doesn't like them turning down business. No problem for me as there are other pizza business that will be happy to take my order. Just avoid this place and go some where else.

Owner or Gm needs to talk to staff about turning away customers at 8:20 when it says it's open until 9pm just because they want to clean up an leave at closing. I worked in food an it was never done like that I had my kids an didn't feel like making dinner. So I guess they will be eating there pizza in the car. Was other people in lobby at 1 table don't see problem with 1 more table. Was told no dine in after 8pm needs to be posted online or the door.

Genuinely disappointed because i spent my money to get dinner for my family, so why is there plastic rubber bands in my pizza. I also seen an employee clearly touching the pepperoni’s with her bare hands. Disgusting.

Whatever, then we play a few arcade games to have some time go by, I even went the local Carl's Jr to get some fries for my son after I served and finished my salad, (by the way this is on Dec. 30th 2018 around 4:20pm and we took the day to play in some snow at Sonora and Dodge Ridge with my parents) finally 12-15 later our orders get placed on the table we're sitting at so now we need plates to serve ourselves, so my mom rushes to asks for plates and gets ignored, so we both ask if we can get plates, after we get the plates I start looking for the containers with cheese and pepper, so my mother asked if they had any Parmesan, cheese and red peppers, and she rudely says there's packets over there, and my mom tells them well, they're empty both containers with packets are empty, so I ask, can you fill one of the ones with cheese and pepper, and she said, I think we are out 2 minutes later, she comes out with 2 containers full of red pepper and Parmesan cheese, the whole store is full of plates and trash everywhere if there is a place, where I can send the pictures I will, it was a bad experience, when I went to the front purchase another fountain drink the lady who saw me called someone else to attend me. I got Pepsi and Sierra mist in the Sierra mins, for some reason, tasted like toilet water. I'm not making this up, i've never tried to live with water, but it smelt close to it and last but not least, when we were about to leave, another group of nice looking people came in to enjoy their selves to a nice pizza meal, and when they came in, they had no place to sit and they were sitting up front to get attended, and the same lady who did not attend me. I told her that she had customers and she still got someone else to attend them because she was on break.
