Came here for dinner with my family. The ambiance is welcoming and there are multiple seating options. We chose to sit where they had table service. Someone immediately showed up to help us with menus and water as soon as we got the table. Ordered a couple of drinks and food. It came out fairly quickly. The food: 1. Fish tacos were amazing. It comes with waffle fries or nachos. We ordered one of each. The tacos were nice and crunchy. The sauce was very flavorful. 2. Roasted butternut squash tacos were also very good. 3. Mac and cheese - Cant go wrong with this for the kids. Drinks: 1. Maple bacon old fashioned - This is a bacon infused old fashioned which comes with a torched bacon. It was amazing. 2. I forgot the name but this drink but it had kiwi in it. Was really good as well. Overall all of us liked our food and the service was really good. Will come back here.
Bartender Wyatt and Ellie are amazing. The bbq and atmosphere are the best in town. Beautiful restaurant and bar. Great fish tacos!!
Absolutely amazing. The atmosphere, the waitress, the food, the drinks. Everything was so good. Our waitress, Cassidy, was so sweet and made our experience even better! I highly recommend checking this place out! The chicken sandwich, the western burger, the pork belly nachos and the shoestring fries were incredible!!!
This place is not only a TON OF FUN with a great atmosphere both inside and out, they have a great selection of beers on tap including hard to finds ones like Pliny the Elder AND a whiskey shelf that would satisfy even the most refined imbibers in their Bourbon Barrel room. Seriously, I had no idea this place existed and just happened across it as we passed through town but now, my wife and I will always make it a point to stop here anytime we make our way up and down HWY 49. I should note, this place was crowded even for lunch and for the most part, it was filled with a more youthful customer base but there were still people of all ages here. Also, for those of you with 4 footed friends, I was happy to see that dogs were allowed in the outside patio area which of course, is way cool to hang out in with it's lovely beer tap water fountain. The bar is very large with plenty of seating and the bartenders are super nice but there are high tops and benches you can chill at as well with a group of friends and even lounge chairs and sofas along the back wall. Of course, if you prefer to be served, there are tables available up on the mezzanine that waiters attend to and there are tables inside as well but really, on a nice summer day, outside is where you want to be. On our visit, I had the chimmichuri shrimp tacos and my wife had the short rib ones with a salad and everything tasted delicious! Need I say, I would highly recommend this place to anyone who lives in or are passing through Sonora 👍
This is the reinvented bourbon barrel and it does not disappoint. Same great, quality drinks but now with delicious eats. We opted to take advantage of the beautiful weather outside upstairs. Service was very attentive and friendly. Fried chicken sandwich probably was one of the best we’ve ever had…a must try! We will be back.
First time at The Armory. We went with a party of 7 on Saturday afternoon. Found parking easily in the parking lot adjacent. We walked in and seated ourselves downstairs instantly. Menus are by the register. You will also walk up and make your orders. Food will be delivered to table. Absolutely great vibe with many options. There's downstairs outdoor seating with the bar and picnic style tables, upstairs with more traditional 2 and 4-top tables, and an indoor bar (in the barrel). We got a couple drinks, nachos, and pretzel. It was a perfect afternoon visit. I could see coming back and making an evening of it.
Enjoyed an early dinner at The Armory with friends—this place is spectacular! From the stunning building to the top-notch service and incredible food, everything was on point. We tried the chicken sandwich and the classic burger—both were fantastic. And the Pretty & Pink cocktail? Out of this world. Huge thanks to Lauran for the great service —these folks really know what they’re doing!
If you’re into restaurants in amazing locations, with cool vibes, INCREDIBLE food, and service that makes you feel like you’re Norm in Cheers, the Armory is not to be missed. On an absolutely perfect patio Taco Tuesday we walked into the Armory and were greeted by the amazing Elly. She gave us a rundown of the tacos on deck for the day and she was an absolute expert on their cocktail lineup, including the charity cocktail they are featuring for the month to support survivors of sexual assault. YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT… incredible food, service, ambiance AND community spirit. Mind officially blown. Our table ended up ordering the fish tacos, and the roasted butternut squash tacos. Butternut squash tacos, where have you been all my life? You might also be asking where are the tacos in this photo? Well, they were devoured before we could even stop long enough to take a pic. Oh, and why a fork and knife in a photo of invisible tacos??? Because I had to cut up the massive piece of beautiful breaded fish in the fish tacos. Both choices came with a lime crema I’m going to tell my grandkids about. I’m 48 though and I don’t have kids, so that means I’m going to go adopt kids that will hopefully have kids so I can tell those kids about these tacos. That’s how good they are. They’ll also hear the story about the house made tortilla chips dusted in flaky sea salt and served with a salsa verde so fresh I thought it was hitting on me.
It had such a warm and inviting and cool atmosphere. The chef knocked it out of the park and I can’t say enough about how wonderful the weight staff performed. I highly recommend it.
This place is just wow!!!! Was awestruck by the way each and every corner here is thought of. Was mainly here for drinks, didn't try any food here. As you enter the place a barrel shaped door welcomes you that leads to a cozy bar area open till midnight. They serve the best cocktails in the most creative glasses. I have never drank out of a pig glass and licked the salt from its bum 😂!!! If you go straight after entering, on your right is an open air 2-story bar. The upstairs can be reserved for parties. Checkout my uploaded video of this open space. Words might not do justice. Other than these areas, there is a huge hall that looked like a club's floor with a DJ's space in one corner and bar on one wall. There is also a dining hall for people to sit and hang out. All in all a must go place when in Sonora area!!
EAT HERE! everything was so good! Great beer selection too! Atmosphere was perfect and service top notch! I always forget to take pre-eating pics so forgive the partially devoured food! The wings with pineapple sweet chili were beyond delicious and I'm not a wing person. Rodeo burger, salad and big as your head pretzel were super tasty!
A tip from our hotel was, go check it out for dinner. It was good very good. We were here on tuesday witch was a special taco night and had some great taco's. Very friendly staff. And we find out that there was a tournament. A kind of bag throwing. ( Sorry if i names this the wrong way) Fun to see that. Friendly people explain how it works. 👍🏻 You can eat and sit also upstairs. Gives something extra to your dinner.
The bartenders are gems here. They are friendly and knowledgeful (I know it’s not a word but it really describes them perfectly) and really make you feel welcome. The selection of beers is awesome! We had great drinks here. I highly recommend the short ribs and mash and the wings were meaty too! Love the indigeny blackberry if you’re looking for a fruity beer.
This is a new gem in Sonora. The atmosphere here is great, outside dining, both upstairs and down stairs, inside dining also. Meeting and group areas, weddings available. Spoke with Brian and was told there is line dancing 💃 every 3rd Saturday and maybe expanding on that. Definitely a new hang out. Should go and check out.
Great spot for a casual meal. Very family and dog friendly. Outdoor seating has heaters that were greatly appreciated on the cold day. Great service and selection of food and beverages. Will be back!
I ordered two rodeo burgers with waffle fries & a brownie online. It was supposed to be done at 7:15pm but it wasn't ready until almost 8pm. The food was delicious but very, very greasy. The brownie came with two scoops of really creamy, delicious ice cream. Probably the best ice cream I've ever had! I will be ordering that again. My total bill with tax and tip was about $60 but worth it. I couldn't even finish my food because it was so filling.
We love this place. Huge investment by owners and it shows. Really top notch venue. Super attentive staff and really great beers. Food was very good and cant wait to go back.

Traveling with our dog, this place is awesome, lots of space for all 3 of us, she loved her chicken bowl, relaxing on the couch. Beer on tap selection is solid, everyone is friendly.
This is a great place. Tucked off the main drag but well worth the visit. Surprising selection of adult beverages including their own barrel-aged cocktail.
The food, service, and staff are always amazing here. I've been line dancing at the armory for over a year and a half. And the atmosphere is always upbeat and wonderful. Joe and Eric are a couple of the bartenders at the armory who are always so friendly and helpful. They make sure everyone is safe and having a good time while out in the patio area. The cooks always make wonderful food. The staff always makes sure everything is clean and tidy. I always have an amazing experience here. Definitely recommend to a friend.
Great outdoor atmosphere and dog-friendly (downstairs only). Get their large pretzel, heard they're soft and delicious. Yum! When the weather is nice out, the place gets busy. Downstairs patio, you place your order with the bartender and then a server will bring out your food. Upstairs patio, servers will take your order. I like that they have gluten-free and vegetarian options. My favorite items are the Buddha Bowl and Butternut Squash Tacos. I've received smiling friendly service each time I've gone. I hear they have country line dancing on Saturdays!

The Armory in Sonora is a beautiful spot with a great open concept, nice restaurant and bar area, and an impressive beer selection. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. We ordered the pulled pork nachos, and the meat was fatty, lukewarm, and flavorless. The cheese wasn’t melted, the whole dish was watery and greasy, and it looked nothing like the picture the Armory has online. The water tasted awful, like it came from a pond. The beer was good though, and the atmosphere alone makes it worth stopping by for a drink or two. Maybe their entrees are better, but for the price, the food missed the mark.
