Spectacular food! We went here to celebrate my husband's birthday and it was perfect! They easily accommodated my dairy allergy. Huge wine list and delicious cocktails. All of the food was cooked perfectly.

Our dinner at the Milton Inn was impressive in every way. The service was friendly, helpful and always close by. All three courses were absolutely delicious. If you have a special occasion coming up soon, consider celebrating it at the Milton Inn. You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely fantastic. We had the artisan cheese plate, poutine, lobster mac and cheese, and salmon with garlic mashed potatoes. The atmosphere was comfortable, everything on and off our plates was out of this world beautiful, and it was all so delicious! Our waiter was also fantastic! We also used the groupon and it was very easy to do. :)

Fantastic all the way around. The Forman Wolf Group really know how to do it. I called ahead to inquire about a special bottle of wine. The Beverage manager was amazing in helping me find exactly what I wanted. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived (parking lot full), which to me is a great sign. We ordered an array of appetizers that were all fantastic, however the tartare was the stand out. We got the Beef Wellington as an entree. We had the Crème Brûlée for dessert with some after dinner drinks. Beautiful place, top notch service, great food in a very pretty area. Thank you for a great experience. We will be back

First of all the setting of the restaurant is so quaint in an old manor house in the country. There is an outdoor patio that was nicely laid out with a great atmosphere. The rooms within the manor were intimate and cozy. The entire staff was very friendly and attentive. At one point the manager came around to greet us and make sure things were ok which I appreciated. Now on to the food - everything was beautifully presented and so nice to see it wasn't overdone. The food was prepared with great care and flavorful. I was impressed with the cocktails and wine selection too. The price point on some items was fairly reasonable. I enjoyed my experience overall and looking forward to visiting again.

The Milton Inn is a little slice of paradise in Monkton. The incredibly chic, well-appointed rooms somehow feel warm and inviting as well, as if you’re walking through a friend’s lovingly restored 200+ year old house. The waitstaff are knowledgeable, warm, and attentive, without being overly fussy. Everything on the menu is seasonal, showing off the best from farms and fisheries around the mid-Atlantic. The wine list is extensive and the cocktails are expertly prepared. The Scottish Salmon, Scallops, Mussels, and Squash Blossoms were all prepared to perfection and absolutely delicious.

Delightful dinner during restaurant week. We did the 3-course menu without wine and everything was spot-on (corn bisque with duck bacon pieces, pan-seared halibut and chocolate mousse/meyer lemon cheesecake). This restaurant is one of the few places in the area that gets everything right-food, service and ambiance. We’re never disappointed!

Can't wait to return! Best Maryland crab soup! Loved the chef, the historic building, the food, wine list, menu options. Went for dinner and returned for lunch. Must be great when the weather is nice and one can enjoy the patio outside. No idea why Open Table said it closed at 8pm. We arrived at 7:55pm - I wanted to see the building built in the 1700s- and they were still serving. Orvis store across street looks very cool too. Next time!

The Milton Inn is a really fantastic place to eat. A cozy atmosphere is paired with an exceptional French menu makes this Foreman/Wolf restaurant a destination to not be missed. The service was top notch and the sommelier's wine pairings were perfect. This place is built for special occasions but is also perfect for more casual dining.

We went here for the very time to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. This is such a nice place. The rooms are all different. We sat in the room with the fireplace. Unfortunately it wasn't on the waitress said they only turn it on when it's 32° because it heats the room quickly. The atmosphere was very cozy & romantic. Our waitress Sheryl was fantastic. The person who fills your water glass was on top of it our glasses were never empty. The food was beyond delicious. I got the pasta special which was the first time that they ran it. It had colossal crabmeat, jumbo scallops, split lobster tails in a cream sauce with a little bit of spinach. Out of this world & a huge portion. My husband got the surf and turf. A 4oz crab cake & filet that was 12 oz. For appetizers he got clams casino & I got french onion soup. Sooooo delicious. We will definitely be back. I recommend you going & giving it a try you won't be disappointed.

We celebrated Valentine's Day with a family brunch at The Milton Inn and it was an outstanding experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent — attentive, warm, and professional. The food was equally impressive, with every dish beautifully prepared and delicious. The historic setting made the occasion feel even more special, and the atmosphere was perfect for a family celebration. I'd highly recommend booking ahead, especially for holidays, as this is a popular spot for good reason. We're already looking forward to our next visit. If you're searching for a memorable dining experience in Baltimore County, The Milton Inn delivers.

I’ve been to The Milton Inn four times now, and each visit has been consistently excellent. One of the things I enjoy most is the diversity of the menu—there’s always a wide range of options, and every time I’ve dined here, the selections have been exceptionally good. The quality and execution of the food are impressive, making each visit feel fresh and thoughtfully curated rather than repetitive. It’s a restaurant I continue to return to with confidence, knowing the experience will be outstanding every time.

I recently photographed an intimate wedding at The Milton Inn in Sparks, Maryland, and it was an absolute dream from start to finish. The venue’s timeless charm, beautiful architecture, and cozy atmosphere created the perfect setting for a private celebration. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making the day flow seamlessly — and the food was incredible! Every detail, from the elegant table settings to the warm lighting, made for such a refined and romantic experience. As a wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a more photogenic and welcoming venue. The Milton Inn is truly a gem for couples seeking a private, elevated wedding experience with exceptional cuisine and service. — Alyssa Morris, Morr Photography

Absolutely a fantastic first class dining experience. Well worth the price. Cordial enthusiasm from the staff starting with the Hostess was refreshing and appreciated. Three course meal was outstanding with just enough quantity to satisfy a man’s appetite. Patrick Dempsey was our waiter and helped make our meal a memorable experience for our 29th Anniversary. (Our Wedding Reception was here in 1997)

It's a pretty historical building with lots of different rooms with different decorative vibes. The food and drink varieties were amazing. We went during the restaurant week and the deal was worth it. We had a zero proof mocktail which was amazing too! The duck breast was spot on and very juicy. I really loved the dessert pistachio chocolate ice cream it's not too sweet and very rich. The service was amazing the entire night slightly slow but the waiters were very knowledgeable on the building and the menu and we're very friendly. We had a great time and would definitely come back to try the set tasting menu.

The food here is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish tastes incredibly fresh and made with top-quality ingredients. The flavors are balanced, beautifully presented, and simply unforgettable. The Milton Inn is the kind of place that feels both elegant and warmly personal from the moment you walk in. The setting is cozy and refined, perfect for a special night out or a quiet dinner where conversation and great food take center stage. The service is equally impressive. The waiters are attentive, polite, and they carry themselves with a polished professionalism that elevates the entire experience. Even the drinks stand out. Handcrafted cocktails to thoughtfully paired wines, complement the meals perfectly. If you’re looking for a restaurant that delivers both charm and culinary excellence, The Milton Inn is a must-visit.

With exceptional staff and an atmosphere unmatched by any restaurant I have yet been to in the United States, the Milton Inn is the best choice for fine dining perhaps in the state of Maryland. The service is far better than any I have had in many years and the food is a unique culinary journey that needs to be experienced. Each room In the restaurant is themed differently and has a distinct character that provides an individual atmosphere to each space. My new favorite restaurant.

Wonderful meal for our anniversary tonight. My husbands first time dining but I have been there a few times (old and new) and it’s always a great time. We enjoyed the beautiful carrots as an appetizer, the NY strip and the venison burger followed by two delightful desserts. Our cocktails were wonderful and we were even surprised with a complimentary champagne toast. Ed was exceptional as our waiter and the rest of the staff made sure we had everything we needed. Can’t wait to bring family here in a couple of weeks! Really loving the new and evolving feel of Milton Inn! Thank you!

Great food - but that is expected at a restaurant of this caliber. The goat cheese fondue was spectacular and the potato soup was like no other. Steak is always good but I was pleasantly surprised with the mushroom tart. Recommend for a special date night, family in town or you simply want to treat yourself. Located in an old inn there are many rooms and "vibes" with a beautiful outdoor area in the warmer months.

Didn't know exactly what to expect when visiting this restaurant as I went with a couple of other people. Was told it was a beautiful historic building but I didn't know much else. Went on a very rainy Sunday night and they checked our coats and umbrellas which was a surprise. The seating was comfortable and the ambiance was quite nice. Started with drinks from the bar and they were spectacular! Started with salad with scallops; the salad was perfect! Ordered the rockfish for dinner and it was really good. Dessert was the chocolate mousse which was really one of the best desserts I've had in quite some time. They even gave us a little tour of the 2 floors after dinner and gave us the history of the property. Very interesting! Will definitely return again!!

Stunning. I thought I wasn't fond of French food but I was wrong. Everything was fantastic, service included! Only thing to note is if you get the zucchini blossoms, be sure to share. It's huge. We also enjoyed the oysters, tomato bisque, salmon, scallops, raspberry tart & cream brule. Everything was wonderful, bright, and unique. Highly recommend! We've recently tried the Happy Hour and it was very nice. Loved the Manhattan!

My husband and I had a fantastic meal when we visited Milton Inn for restaurant week. From the prix fix menu, we ordered the heirloom tomatoes, snails, venison, and tarte tatin. We also supplemented with the fois gras because why not? The heirloom tomatoes were lackluster, but everything else was extremely delicious. The escargot, venison, and tarte tatin are all things I would recommend for as long as they are on the menu. 👍👍👍 Outside of the food, the service was excellent! Staff checked on us more often than we've experienced recently, which was a nice change of pace. They were all pleasant and very willing to offer suggestions and info on the menu. We left very satisfied and will definitely make the drive up to Sparks again soon.

We tried the main dishes for entrees - Venison and NY Strip Steak. Excellent, well-seasoned, properly prepared dishes. We'll be back to try the small plates. They look wonderful! The food here is always excellent.

My husband and I recently celebrated 7 years together and we chose The Milton Inn as our dinner destination and we were so glad we did. We were not disappointed, everything was delicious, our steaks were cooked exactly as we asked and our waiter was excellent. This historic hunting lodge is charming and sophisticated and the live music was great (live music every Tuesday). Worth the visit and the food is worth every penny

Had an amazing time here it was a very intimate place with live music as you are enjoying your meal. I sat at the bar for the happy hour menu which was great and the bartender was amazing and very knowledgeable of all the drinks. I will be coming back here.

Took my mother there for mother's day, was a wonderful experience. The redecorating was wonderfully done. This is a timeless classic location. Had some cocktails while waiting for our tabe. They were well done. I enjoyed the soup 🍲 which was a carrot puree. Then for main course I had the steak and fries. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasteful. Overall made for wonderful experience. Will definitely come again.

I love this place. There are two menus - one for the tavern, and the other for the more sumptuous dinner menu. I opted for the tavern menu and was treated very well (as were all of the other tables around me). A vegetarian was in the party, and one of the reasons I chose this place was because the vegetarian options were something that I, as a meat eater, would also order. He got the gnocchi and I got the burger as an entree, and we split the mousse for dessert. Not to miss: the onion soup or the escargot.

TLDR: A+ French fine dining experience in a picturesque atmosphere. Also has one of the best happy hours in all of Baltimore. Vibe: 5/5. Situated in the rolling hills of Sparks, MD, The Milton Inn has always been an landmark restaurant for Baltimore County. With the new ownership under the Cindy Wolf/Tony Foreman restaurant group, they have managed to not only preserve the iconic facade, but elevate it into an immersive French countryside experience. Each room within the century old restaurant is thoughtfully decorated to portray a cozy hunting lodge. There is also a bar area located towards the back of the restaurant (also has a separate entrance from the outside clearly marked), perfect for those after work drinks. During our visit, they had a guitar and cello duo setup in the bar, which was a nice addition to the ambiance. Service: 5/5. As with all fine dining restaurants by Wolf/Foreman, service expectations are held at a very high standard, and The Milton Inn delivered. My party of 2 visited for an early dinner on a Tuesday afternoon. We originally had made reservations for the main dining room, however we also wanted to take advantage of the happy hour specials, so we opted to sit in the bar area. The staff was more than happy to accommodate this last minute request, and we were promptly given a 4 top in the bar lounge. Our waiter, who I believe was also serving the main dining room, did an excellent job in keeping tabs on us in the bar. Food pacing and silverware change outs we're done with the precision and promptness that I have come to expect from fine dining. In addition, I had noted on the reservation that this was an anniversary meal, which the entire staff congratulated us on upon interaction which was a nice touch. Food: 5/5. Truly an amazing experience from start to finish. As mentioned, we came early and sat in the bar area to take advantage of their amazing happy hour. This includes several of their main menu items but in smaller tapa style portions. This is perfect for those who are trying to sample several menu items without commiting to a full portion. At $8 a plate, this may be the best happy hour deal in all of Baltimore County. With this being our first time at the Milton Inn, we ordered the entire happy hour menu to start. This included a creamy mushroom gnocchi, oysters Rockefeller, battered shrimp, mushroom roasts and lamb skewers. All of the happy hour dishes were perfectly cooked and paired excellent with the $6 glasses of wine and cocktails that also are available during happy hour. For many, this would be more than enough to satisfy as a meal, however we had fasted all day for this epic meal, so we decided to overindulge and order a full service from the main menu as well. We opted for the onion soup, steak tartar, the venison burger and the Roseda NY Strip steak frites. Both the steak tartar and onion soup starters were excellent, making them must haves when visiting. Both the venison and Roseda NY strip were cooked perfectly to desired doneness (med rare on the burger and medium on the steak) and the frites were a shining example of what French fries should strive to be. And finally, we concluded the feast with a decadent slice of scratch made Opera cake. Overall, both the happy hour menu and main dinner menu are both worthwhile experiences at The Milton Inn. Whether it's catching after work drinks and bites with some colleagues, to a full fledged multi course dinner experience while basking in a French hunting Lodge, the Milton Inn has both bases covered!

As per usual Foreman Wolf style, the food and service were top notch. The addition of new partner Chef Chris Scanga was a no-brainer. Starting with the cocktails, they were delicious and well executed. The Pâté en Croûte was tasty. The Fleurs de Courgettes (squash blossoms) were light and crispy and a dip in the basil aioli was divine. For the entrees, the squab was moist and flavorful and was served with pommes dauphinoise - thinly sliced potato perfection. The Salade Maison with a 4 oz filet mignon was the best steak salad I’ve ever had. Our only qualms were minor. The Lost Wisdom cocktail lacked the edible flower, and the back room with the beautiful long tufted bench was a bit crowded with no ambient music. We could hear all the other tables’ conversations far too easily. After closing our check, we decided to move to bar for an after dinner drink. The staff was gracious in our request. The bartender was very friendly and very knowledgeable. We had a delightful time. We will be returning to Milton Inn. Very thankful for the new ownership. Edit:: Update:: We returned and our experience was even better than before. Exquisite service and cuisine. We will return again and again.

The Milton in is meticulously crafted to be both French and pay homage to its hunting lodge roots. The maître d' is so charming that you wonder if they plucked him straight from France and every item that comes out is fantastic (my only minor feelings of meh were towards to complimentary bread and side of green beans which were cooked well but without much flavor). It is clear that lots of the staff is new and young but they do a great job and sometimes a better job than really experienced and older staff as they try to prove themselves. It was cool to hear about the hunting lodge roots of the space and we were encouraged to explore the space, and we did. Big props to our waitress for bringing out the bartender when we had questions about the digestifs. It’s expensive so we won’t be back every month but it is absolutely a place to go for a special occasion and a special meal.

My second of 3 course was Scallops. Chef Scenga made my whole soul happy with these tasty scallops, prosciuto & mushrom dish. The best I have ever had, anywhere.

Its been a little while since I was here but better late than never I suppose. I think this was about as close to perfect as one could hope for. Everything from our service to the food was just top line. I could go on and on raving about it but if I had to pick one negative, it would be that, at least during our visit, there was no ambient music or anything. Just felt a little odd to be that quiet. Again, im being picky here because I really cant wait to go back. That negative I mention is so miniscule. The overall experience here, Including the food of course, was just phenomenal. I dont know if our server Jonathan is still there but I would rate him 6 stars if I could.

P
Patrick Kieley

Had no doubt the food would be great (especially the NY strip) but really wanted to highlight the service here. It was phenomenal. Servers checked in on us constantly, but not in a bothersome way, and all were friendly, gracious and detailed. You know you’re in the hands of a good server when there’s a natural flow and choreography to your meal that you barely even notice unless you’re paying attention. My wife and I were seated along the bar wall in the leather seat / couch on Saturday @ 5 as walk-ins, so whoever served us, thank you!

Fantastic experience from start to finish! Each course was outstanding, and service was top notch. Endive salad, mushroom puff pastry tart, steak tartare and scallops were among the favorites at the table. Looking forward to next visit!

Wow! I was pretty unsure about the menu as I read it online because I normally like to eat the same things I always do. So glad we ventured out! The staff from the moment we walked in was very attentive and welcoming. We usually visit the atlas group restaurants and I will say this was one of the best experiences we had. Nothing too crazy but they just did everything right. The food was amazing and not what I would normally order but so glad we did. It was so cute how throughout the night you got a chefs present which was just right. We had the pleasure of having John as our server. He was great in explaining the menu and having recommendations. His service was great as well as the rest of the servers. I can not express how glad I am that we ventured out and we will definitely be back! My favorite drink is a margarita and it was the best one I ever had as well as the best soup I have ever had. We started with a zucchini that was fried with an amazing sauce ( complementary appetizer from the chef, so good) we also enjoyed the roasted corn bisque soup ( so yummy), the chicken dish, lamb chop, and beef tenderloin was on point! Finished with a great coffee and espresso martini! We will definitely be back!

The Milton Inn is a classic, laid-back spot with big flavors! The menu is hearty and satisfying, from steaks to comfort classics, and the portions won’t leave you hungry. Friendly, welcoming staff and a casual, cozy vibe make it perfect for a relaxed dinner out.

We recently had the pleasure of eating at The Milton Inn, while visiting the area. Wow, what a treat. Food atmosphere and staff were all 5 star. Beautiful historical building, meets 5 star food and service, what more could you ask for. Thank you, and look forward to my next visit and meal at The Milton Inn.

What a fabulous place; it's in a large stone house, with separate comfortable rooms and seating. The service was impeccable as was the food and wine from the menu where you can choose from 3-5 items, with dessert added. I had the heirloom tomatoes with creamy feta on a pesto bed, puff pastry with the most flavorful mushrooms, and halibut; all came with wine parings, with information on where the wine came from. Dessert for me was chocolate, mousse, cherries. Topped off with espresso. This restaurant is great for special occasions or to just sit with a glass of wine and indulge.

We absolutely LOVED our experience at Milton Inn last night for a pre-Valentine celebration. Food was so creative in combination, presentation and taste. Waiter couldn’t have been any better and the service was outstanding. This upscale (but not stuffy) restaurant could easily have been anywhere in Europe for its fine dining appeal. We will DEFINITELY be back as we have been looking for a restaurant that delivers what it promised. Make it your next special occasion place to celebrate life!

I had the pleasure to visiting the Milton Inn for a family wedding. What a warm, intimate, and historical setting. It is located in a lush setting with ample parking. There are first rate outdoor heaters and fireplace for outdoor dining. We had impecable service by multiple bartenders, and staff. Delicious hor derves included crab cakes, oysters on the half shell, shrimp cocktail, a meat and cheese display, bean bugers and more! Dinner included, chicke, salmon, carrots, mashed potatoes, and the specialty, cucumber salad. The wedding cake was as beutiful as it was delicious! I am certain I have left some delectable out. We were warmly greeted by the head chef. There was a cozy fire going in one of the rooms. No detail was overlooked! If you like fine dining, in a historical site, I think the Mitlon Inn is a must! Thank you to all the amazing cooks and staff, who made the wedding reception one for the books!

My husband took me to the Milton Inn to celebrate my birthday and it was a wonderful experience! The service was amazing—everyone was so friendly, attentive, and made the night feel really special. The food was absolutely delicious (every single dish we tried was a hit). We had the 4 course meal option plus a dessert and the portions were perfect. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

Recently, we hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Milton Inn in Sparks, Maryland. It was absolutely perfect and so memorable! Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the quaint building, the fantastic food and the impeccable service! We will definitely be back for dinner or a cozy lunch! Thank you Felicia and all the staff, for helping us create such a special moment!

My recent dining experience here was delightful. The food was truly exquisite, as expected from this caliber of establishment. Housed in an old inn from the 1740s, the restaurant exudes charm and character, with fresh flowers accenting everywhere. The host acknowledged our birthday reservation and was both endearing and attentive, seating us promptly upon arrival and checking in. We appreciated the continuous refills of water and plentiful bread, which added to our enjoyment. Whether for a celebration or business meeting, this is a tremendous venue. I look forward to returning.

Beautiful restaurant, like stepping back in time. The food is good, although not very imaginative. I had the venison, which was excellent, but my husband was disappointed with his fish entree. Appetizers were very good (Brussels sprouts and mussels especially). But best of all were the desserts! They have a nice old vine Zinfandel by the glass, tried two other reds which were just ok. Although expensive, definitely a nice place to celebrate an event as it is elegant and relaxed (and maybe a little old fashioned)

My wife and I went for our 5 year anniversary and were treated to a wonderful meal. I have to say that the food, ambiance, and wait staff were all exceptional. Unfortunately the hostess whom took my wife and I to our seats was blatantly rude and actually insulted me. I was of the understanding that this was a fine dining restaurant so I wore a suit jacket. As we were walking to our table the hostess asked, "did your wife make you dress up," giving me the perspective that I was overdressed. As a healthcare worker in the ER, and a new dad, I never put on anything nice anymore and the one day I did I get insulted for doing so. Unfortunately the comment struck a chord with me. Again, my dinner was delicious, and I thought my dessert was one of the best desserts I've had in recent memory. I just dont expect to get insulted when I eat out at a restaurant.

M
Marta Lopushanska

We had a great dinner at the tavern, great appetizers and main courses. After dinner we proceeded to join a few of our friends in the bar area. Bartender approached our group, before serving any drinks to us, and stated that he isn't able to serve anyone who is driving home... He communicated in a demeaning and condescending way, and very unwelcoming. We never received the drinks we ordered. Very strange experience

M
Michele Roberts

We never made it into the tavern. The parking lot was full, covered in snow and the lights were not on. We skidded around the poor excuse for a lot that could have cost us more than a meal tonight. No thank you. Improve your parking situation especially in inclement weather. How have you not been sued yet?
