The food was very good. The waitress was excellent and very attentive . I ordered the Seafood Platter. Really good food but expensive for what was on the platter but I knew that already
We went to the Ark for supper on a v ry quiet night. The server was great and had several meal suggestions. I loved the alligator bites I had! I was expecting only collard greens, so when the "seasoned greens" turned out to be collard and turnip, it was a great opportunity to try something new!
Enjoyed my first meal at The Ark in Springville last night. We had a party of 6 and were sat immediately. The service was great! Our server, Lanie, while stretched thin, and taking care of quite a few tables (we only saw two servers for the entire restaurant and the servers were also seating customers) she was super sweet and did a great job. We order appetizers (onion rings and fried pickles) and those came out quickly and were good. Very soon after ordering our appetizers, we ordered our entrees. It took about 50 minutes for our food to come out. In fact, I noticed that there was about a half hour period where NO food came out. Several tables around us were seated after our orders were placed and still received food before we did. We ordered fried shrimp, catfish and chicken fingers, no steaks that would take longer to cook or anything. My dad asked our sweet server about our food and she informed us that the kitchen was run by kids and that she had been checking on our food and that it would be up in just a moment. Within 5 minutes our food was being delivered but my meal was missing. Our server let me know that the kitchen made an error and left my food out. Our server looked like she was going to cry, as she told me my food was not ready and she offered me a free dessert. I told her not to worry and I could wait. I felt bad for her! It seemed like the kitchen was poorly managed, possibly not managed at all, which made it hard for poor Lanie to do her job. The food was great!!! I will come back! Just wanted to convey that there seemed to be a lack of management, which very negatively impacted the visit.
Way out in the country, down a road you wouldn’t expect a restaurant — it’s built out of a converted river barge. The fried catfish was the real deal. Don’t expect fancy plating — it’s all about comfort, flavor, and that “we’re here, off the grid” vibe. Great for a detour.
The staff and service was wonderful! The food was served hot and the catfish is the best I've had in a long time. We will definitely be back.
Usually delicious but chose the special of chicken & dressing. Edible but tasted like a mix. Banana pudding had no bananas & was a mix. Couldn't eat it. Will stick to the menu from now on.
I’ve never had a bad meal here. Their hamburger steaks and patty melts are the best i ever had. Never had an issue with service unless they’re super busy, which is to be expected. And they’re not insanely over priced like most restaurants. 100% recommend
We went to The Ark for the first time. Variety of menu items for the whole family. We started out with the onion rings which were so good! Fried perfectly and good seasoning on the batter. Chicken fingers were crunchy and cooked perfectly. The catfish was a nice portion! We asked for blackened shrimp instead of fried and those too were seasoned good. Of all things, the ranch dressing was one of our favorites! We were too full to try any desserts. A great find in Springville with great portions and very reasonable pricing.
It's a seafood restaurant, and all we got was burgers and fries to go, so this review probably isn't very helpful. Very good burgers and fries. We also got a side of chicken livers, and they were good too. Excellent beef on the burgers, fresh lettuce & tomato, good bun. The fries were very good, not too salty or weirdly spiced. Overall we liked it. I gave them five stars for service and atmosphere because I couldn't see any reason to punish them just because we didn't sit down. It does look nice on the inside. Fine dining for Springville! :)
Some of the best food around! Never bad quality or service. My husband swears this is the best catfish he has ever had. I get the shrimp and they’re always perfect. Whatever they’re battering with is delicious, not too thick, and tender. Also wish I could make my greens and coleslaw taste like theirs. We struggle to get there before 8 for dinner, but when we do it’s always worth it!
The food was excellent, they specialize in a variety of seafood options as well as more traditional dishes. Frog legs and gator bites are also on the menu. The service was excellent, we never had to wait for drink refills and our food was brought out straight off the grill or stove. They timed the cooking just right so no one had to wait for their dish I have never been here before and I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. This is definitely a restaurant you will want to add to your rotation.
This afternoon we ate at the Ark in Springville. My wife got the Philly cheese sandwich and she thought it was very good. I got the butterfly shrimp with onion rings and salad. My food was good and the side salad exceeded my expectations for a side salad. The shrimp was very good and so were the onion rings. My meal was $19 and I believe the sandwich was $10.
Nice little restaurant in downtown Springville. The hamburger steak was seasoned really good. The mashed potatoes and okra were also right on. The side salad was pretty big and came with two ranch dressings and crackers. The service was good and the price was reasonable for the portion sizes. I will go back and try other foods on the menu. Gumbo with hush puppies and the sandwiches were also good. Portion sizes are large.
My family stopped by here to eat lunch on a Saturday. There was no wait. I ordered the whole catfish platter. The catfish was the best I have had since I was a kid. The serving portions were ample. My wife got the grilled chicken salad and it was very good. My girls got a popcorn shrimp platter, chicken tenders basket, cheese steak sandwich, and chicken tenders salad. All was good. The onion rings were a little soggy like not done all the way. It is nestled in historic, downtown Springville which is lovely. I would definitely recommend eating here.
Lots of parking. Very clean inside and out. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This was our first visit. When ordering Fried Catfish: a Filet is a large piece of fish, Nuggets will be that Filet cut up in small pieces, Strips will be a Filet cut into three pieces. So if you order two Filets you will get 6 Strips. Just wanted to clarify that. The Fried Catfish is a generous amount of flaky fish, lightly battered, fried to perfection and barely to not seasoned. I enjoy good Catfish but this was not the best I have tasted, definitely needed salt. The mashed potatoes and baked beans were good but didn’t seem to be fresh made. I did absolutely love the cheese curds, there is nothing better than fried cheese. Do order this for an appetizer, you will not be disappointed. The Chocolate pie is served in a plastic carry out container, and it was very good but it was not Chocolate Silk Pie, it was old fashion Chocolate Pie with Meringue. No one else really raved about anything they had so I won’t comment on the other dishes. We probably will not visit this restaurant again.
I had ate numerous times at The Ark over in Riverside so an opportunity came to try this new restaurant in Springville and compare. My meal consisted of a catfish fillet, cole slaw, fried okra, hushpuppies and tea. Fried okra and hushpuppies were very good and cole slaw was good. I was not impressed with the catfish fillet. It was not greasy and was lightly battered but it just did not have a taste. I suppose if I had ordered a large seafood meal I would have got a different impression but I was looking for a basic lunch meal. Service was good and the atmosphere was tops as it was inside one of the old historic buildings in town.
Went for our anniversary for something different. First time there. Casual dining with higher than normal price. Servers were great. Loaded pups were good. Hamburger steak was good. Catfish was good. Cheesecake was good. They charge a fee for card transactions. Understand why, but I don't like it. Would be nice if it was posted somewhere conspicuous. Servers - A+ Food - B- Checkout - F- Overall - Meh.
Burgers taste boiled somehow with zero flavor. Onion rings are super greasy and breading just falls off. Waitress was rude and not helpful at all. And whatever you do, don’t use the exit door to go inside…tell ya what, maybe put the mat by the door instead of at the register so you don’t have to tackle people coming in to tell them to put their feet on the mat when it’s raining.
