First time at Lal Mirch and we will definitely be back. Exceptional service from our server Abu from the moment we walked in the door. He offered recommendations and even sent us some things to try on the house. The food was so flavorful, authentic and large portions! We had the lamb korma, chicken Makhni (butter chicken), and mixed tandoori with cheese naan. The vegetable samosas and mango lassi were also very tasty. Overall a wonderful experience!

We went out of our way to revisit this gem, and it was just as spectacular as we remembered. We first stumbled upon this spot years ago with friends from out of town; when those same friends returned recently, we knew exactly where we had to take them, despite the long drive! We shared the Dinner Special for two, a Lamb Biryani, and the appetizer platter. The portions were incredibly generous, leaving the three of us completely satisfied. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. Even though the combo was for two, the staff thoughtfully brought out an extra bowl of soup and an extra dessert so no one felt left out. It’s that level of care, combined with the homey atmosphere and authentic flavors, that makes this my favorite Indian restaurant in the Studio City area. We’ll definitely be back!

It was my first time trying Indian food so my husband wanted to take me somewhere that was authentic, tasty and clean so he brought me here and I’m so happy he did. It’s a hidden gem, the music, the art and food make it a beautiful experience. Would definitely come back as I see myself craving this every week. Great date spot too!

We’ve been coming here for years and it’s still incredible! In fact, it somehow gets better and better. Indian food is one of our favorite cuisines and Lal Mirch is as good as we’ve found anywhere, in and out of India. My photos don’t look great because the food was so good that we couldn’t stop eating, and by the time I remembered to take pictures, most of it was already gone. This restaurant is incredibly clean—even the restrooms are spotless. The food is absolutely delicious and the portions are huge! We ordered the Lamb Masala, Coconut Veggie Curry, and the amazing Tandoori Chicken. We couldn’t finish everything and ended up taking plenty home. The staff are very warm and attentive, always checking in on us. And the best part is Abu—he’s so welcoming and even remembered me from a year ago! He treated us to so many things. This is definitely the best Indian restaurant in the area. Highly recommended!

I’ve been coming here for years with my family, it’s our favorite Indian restaurant in LA for good reason. We always know we will have a top notch experience here. The food is incredibly flavorful and yummy, and the service couldn’t be nicer. Each staff member goes above and beyond to welcome guests and provide recommendations. Sometimes they even let us try bonus dishes on the house, so kind!! We will continue to come back!

We had such an amazing time here. Both the food and the service are fantastic! Abu, (manager) and Zaman (owner) are extremely friendly and personable. They go out of their way to explain in detail the ingredients of each dish and what pairs well with it. Definitely recommend!

Best Indian in LA hands down!!! I am VERY picky about my food and very rarely repeat restaurants (you wanna try everything you know?) but I’ve been here at least 4 times now. The service is incredible and they are super kind and often treat us to dessert or tea or sometimes something new on the menu or something they want us to try (shout out to Abu!). They are just clearly passionate about what they do here and have a lot of pride in what they’ve accomplished. 10/10 would recommend. Bring all your friends here and anyone you have visiting in town!

The amazing food and great service still hasn't changed. Today Abu helped me and he was great, very attentive and offered some new food I had yet to try. I always come mid day because around dinner time they're crazy busy but the service never changes. I've been coming here for a little over 4 years now and have taken many friends here that haven't tried indian food or don't like it and they always end up leaving with a different mind set. Today I started with a soup and got Aloo Ghobi, chicken tikka masala, sagh paneer, garlic naan, and rice. All extra hot, the colors deep with all the spices washed down with a cool mango Lassi. The food came out timely and Abu checked on me often. I will continue to come back again and again.

I’ve been coming here for years. Best Indian food I’ve had in LA county. Since moving to the east coast, I try to come back each time for a visit. The prices cannot be beat and the staff are caring and professional. If you want an indoor (or takeout) Indian spot, let this one be it. You won’t find another like it! We ordered the vegetarian dinner for 2 which is $48. Comes with a soup, two entrees, and dessert. We wanted a few extra items as everything is so good. Pictured is the Mango lassi, rice pudding flavored with a wonderful cardamon spice, and the gulab jamun, which are similar to tiny donut holes soaked in a sugary syrup and a little warm inside.

This is the second time we’ve dined at Lal Mirch. Once was about 8 months ago, and for the second time tonight. We sat down to order and our server had recognized us from the first time we had went! All of the staff is very kind and helpful. At the end of the meal, we were surprised with a complimentary dessert and some amazing tea. Highly recommend trying the delish food and amazing service at Lal Mirch!

Lal merch has been one of the most consistent Indian cuisine locations I’ve ever been to. They balance heat and flavor especially well. Everyone here always greets you with kindness and friendliness. Wife and I come here a minimum of once a month. We love it and you should give it a shot on your next dining night. Ask for Abu and he will treat you right

I want to preface by saying that I am generally not into Indian food, mostly because it does not always settle well with me. However, this place is EXCELLENT. From the service (shout out to Rifatul) to the abundant flavors that are not overpowering, it's no wonder people love coming here. As someone who does not like spicy foods, everything was flavored wonderfully. Even the dips were just the right amount of heat without masking the flavor. And as a vegetarian, there are plenty of options with incredible flavors. 10/10 would come back again!

This place is such a delight and a beautiful delicious Gem. All of the dishes that we ordered were amazing. We had the Shrimp Vindaloo, Tikka Masala and the Chicken Makhani (recommended by the waiter Abu). All three dishes were so flavorful and mouthwatering, the waiters recommendation was a hit with all of us. It was an explosion of deliciousness. We added the Vegetable Biryani and it couldn't complement the dishes more than what they were. The Garlic Naan was the cherry on top. So fresh, warm and crisp just to the perfect touch. Abu was an amazing waiter. Answered all of our questions about the dishes, delicious recommendations, very knowledgeable about the restaurants food and a super kind person. Hands down thee best Indian Restaurant in the Valley.

My sister took me to this lovely place while I was visiting from New Mexico. Our server was Abu and he was such a delight.. drinks always full, taking care of our every need! Came to this place to try Indian food and can't stop thinking about it since then. Everything tastes amazing. We tried their Chicken Tikka Masala, Shrimp Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Coconut Curry Chicken, and Lamb Vindaloo. We asked for medium spiciness but I think we could go higher. I asked for the spicy sauce on the side and everything tasted just better after adding their hot sauce. The interior is nice, clean, and cozy. The staff was super nice and friendly. And a big shoutout to our waiter Abo! He was amazing. He also brought some complimentary appetizers with dips which were to die for! We'll definitely be back soon!

Lal Mirch is our weekly go to spot and it never misses. Tonight we had Rafi as our server and he was so kind and went above and beyond. The team here always makes us feel so welcome and every so often surprises us with a free dessert, which is the sweetest touch. We ordered all our usual favorites, and somehow each dish tasted even better than the last. The vegetable samosas were perfectly crisp, the garlic naan was unreal, the vegetable soup was so comforting, the Mattar Paneer was rich and flavorful, and the chicken tikka was incredibly tender. And the house sauces? Divine. The green sauce will forever be my favorite. We love this place and always leave happy. Highly recommend.

Best Indian food I’ve ever had—so authentic! I live just down the street, and my boyfriend and I order takeout from here all the time since it’s one of our favorite comfort foods at home. We love dining in, too. The service is consistently 10/10. The staff is warm, welcoming, and always spot-on with their recommendations. The hype is real. The best masala sauce I've ever had in my life. The strawberry lassi is like the final boss of strawberry milk. The cheese filled naan is insane. Me and my friend loved this place. We got the coconut shrimp which were magical. Flavorful, crunchy, and juicy. Then we got mango lassi which were a little sweet for my taste but rocked. Chana masala which was rich and yummy and tomato-y and malai kufta which was buttery and great. The rice pudding is exactly what you want! Our waiter Abu was very attentive and kind and because it was our first time, we got the mango lassi for free. Walked in on a particularly gray, cloudy day in Los Angeles and had an incredible meal at Lal Mirch. The chicken was fresh, flavorful, and delicious! I also INHALED my mango lassi - it might be the best I’ve ever had! This place has truly blown us away within the restaurant experience. We came here on a Monday night and Abu was our server. He was extremely kind, attentive and hospitable. He hooked us up with so many free items. I honestly can’t even keep track. It was unbelievable and so welcoming. The food was also delicious everything that he brought us Was phenomenal. We had to return two days later. Just do yourself a favor and come here anything that you order will probably be delicious. Still the BEST of the best and so consistent. This is my 6th or 7th time coming in the last year and a half and EVERY time the service is impeccable, kind, courteous, generous. The atmosphere is lovely and both the owner and staff are lovely. Then there’s the food - absolutely fantastic. You can taste the fresh ground spices in the masala and the desserts. The naan is fluffy and light - onion, garlic and plain are so delicious. We’ve gotten the butter chicken every time, the lamb kofta is great, saag paneer, samosas and chicken tikka are all 5 stars. Well cooked, well seasoned, simply plated because the flavor stands alone. Street parking or a small lot behind the restaurant. Come hungry!

Lal Mirch is fantastic! The garlic cheese naan was soft, flavorful, and absolutely addictive. The shrimp biryani was perfectly spiced with tender shrimp and fragrant rice. The chicken tikka tandoori was juicy, smoky, and well-marinated, cooked perfectly with great char. We also loved the baigan bhorta, which had a great smoky flavor and tasted very fresh. My favorite (and most likely the best) Indian restaurant in LA! The food is always amazing - we went on a Thursday and it was suuuuper fresh. I love the Murgh Makhni, aka butter chicken. The textures are amazing, and I personally like the medium spice which has a nice blend of heat, but you can still taste all the lovely notes. Tried the onion naan and it was an unexpected standout! Do yourself a favor and get a mango lassi with it, and the donuts to finish it off. The most pillowy, freshest spiced donuts served in a delicious syrup. We keep coming back!!

Wow. Genuinely one of the best dinner experiences we've ever had. Came as a group of four and was fed enough food for a family of 8. Abu was our server and not only was he above and beyond on the service, he brought out so many freebies for us. We ordered the set dinner with the tandoori chicken, tikka masala and paneer. It also came with dessert and tea! Highly highly recommend!

Came here with my family for my dad’s birthday tonight! It was my parents first time and we got the best experience! Everybody here is so friendly and hospitable. Abu and the rest of the crew constantly checked on us. Service alone was top notch. As far as the food goes, 10/10 their lamb is to die for. Garlic naan..phenomenal. Mango lassi, perfect. I just want to thank Abu and his amazing team for making my parents first experience with Indian food memorable and making my dad’s birthday the best 60th birthday the best! You guys just gained new customers for life.

Lal mirch in Studio City was such a pleasant surprise. We ordered the chicken korma, chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, cheese naan, and samosas, everything was genuinely excellent. Rich, comforting, and clearly made with care. The service really elevated the experience too. They were warm and attentive, and at the end they brought us hot tea and tapioca on the house, which felt thoughtful and generous. I usually default to ordering Indian food in, but actually going out for this made the meal feel special in a way takeout rarely does. Definitely a place I’d come back to, both for the food and the hospitality.

Lal Mirch is one of my favorite Studio City neighborhood spots. I discovered it about six months ago and I’ve been going almost every week since. The food is outstanding every time. The fish tandoori has become one of my favorite dishes anywhere, which is incredibly flavorful and tender with a little crispiness on the edges (yum!). The saag paneer is another favorite - rich, delicious, and so satisfying. I like to also try new items from the menu and everything has been excellent. Not only is the food delicious, but also the team here is warm, welcoming, and always a pleasure to see. It is the kind of place that has quickly become familiar and comfortable. I recently noticed they also do catering so I decided to have them cater for my annual holiday party and it was a huge success. The food was packed carefully, it traveled well, and everyone loved it. They even helped load everything into my car, which made the whole process so easy. I will definitely be using them to cater again whenever the next occasion comes up. I love this place and highly recommend it.

My family and I are obsessed with this spot or Indian food! Lal Mirch has become our go-to for the past couple of years—it never disappoints with their magnificent service and romantic atmosphere in the restaurant. We usually order for to-go, but our last experience with Abu solidified how tough it is to try other Indian restaurants elsewhere. We got the chicken tikka, chicken tikka masala, paratha, tandoori roti, chicken korma, fish madras, and saag paneer along with white biryani and all the extra condiments like chutneys and yogurt. It was super tough to decide what was our favorites! Everything was perfectly flavored and spiced (ordered medium, but you can play it safe with mild). This time, we realized that the fish madras is going to be a new favorite! The fish and tomatoes are sublimely cooked whereas the sauce is not too heavy but it’s zingy and flavorful. Even with being fully satiated, we brought home more than plenty of leftovers. Lastly, I can’t emphasize the service enough. The food came out quickly and Abu was the sweetest and provided us with the utmost care. He always offered requests for more food, drinks, sauces, and desserts—trust that you’ll have the best dine-in experience with him and his team!!

Overall: 10/10 would recommend this place. Everyone Ive brought here has loved it and asks to come back. This is my go-to Indian spot! Food: Amazing! This is probably one of the best Indian spots Ive been to in a long time! I've been here a couple of times and basically everything I've tried tasted amazing. I usually start off with the Samosas and Pakoras (which always come out fresh and hot). Ive also had the vegetable soup (Mulligatawny Soup) and it was honestly one of the best soups Ive had at a restaurant! The biryani is always a must, vegetable, chicken , chicken tikka, whatever you choose you'll love it. I also highly recommend the Tofu Bhuna (amazingly spiced), the Baingan Bharta (deep roasty flavors), Aloo Gobi, Paneer Makhni and the Chicken Tikka. Also can never go there and not get the mixed grill! Comes out sizzling. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. As for drinks and desserts, the Mango lassi is really good and the rice pudding/Gulab Jamun are nice closers to such a rich and delicious meal. Service: Amazing! The staff is really attentive and funny! You can ask any staff member for anything and they will help out. No "Ill tell your server" or anything, everyone in there operates like a team and it shows with some of the best service you'll get at a restaurant. Also everyone is always happy and joking around. Really makes you feel welcome. Finally the staff is really fast. When you need something it only takes a minute or two to get someones attention and they are able to fulfil your request pretty quickly (like needing another spoon or needing more Raita). Atmosphere: Its a quite place. Definitely a relaxing environment where you can have a casual conversation without loud music or having to yell to talk to each other.

Lal Mirch is one of my favorite Indian restaurants. Their chicken tikka masala is rich, flavorful, and consistently delicious. The lamb dishes are always well-cooked and full of spices, and the veggie soup is comforting and perfect to start the meal. The garlic naan is soft and fragrant, and the rice pairs perfectly with all the curries. Everything tastes fresh and well prepared. Special shout-out to Abu, the manager — he’s professional, welcoming, and always makes sure guests are taken care of. Great food and great service every time. Highly recommend!

We visited Lal Mirch after a long day of exploring LA, feeling tired and hungry. The food was enjoyable—both the sabji and naan tasted good, though not extraordinary. For someone without many Indian food options around, it would definitely be satisfying. However, being from the Bay Area, where there are plenty of great Indian restaurants, I felt it didn’t quite reach that level of flavor. Overall, it’s a solid choice for good Indian food if you're in the area and craving a comforting meal!

I’ve been eating Indian food my whole life. This food was terrible. Made from mostly frozen vegetables and pre packaged sauces. Samosas from frozen. I’ve never seen soupy aloo gobi before in my life, but that’s what we got. Chicken was dry and flavorless. Korma sauce was grainy and bland. We tasted the food, sent it back and to avoid further annoyance just paid for the meal. The server angrily and loudly cleared our table purposely clanking the dishes. There were no Indians eating at the restaurant while we were there. I’m convinced positive reviews are from those who haven’t had much Indian food in their lifetime.
