Seapot is an all-you-can-eat conveyor belt hotpot place with an option to add on BBQ. Our group of 6 made a weekend lunch reservation and had a great time. Our server especially patient and attentive (much better than the San Mateo location), and we didn’t have to wait too long for our meat orders. We didn’t have any concerns with the meat except the rib-eye was noticeably leaner than the wagyu and the beef toro. I had the Thai broth which had a nice sour tang that wasn’t too spicy. There is a quirk where while most hotpot burner controls are on the side of the table facing you, two of the six burners on our table had the controls on the cooking surface itself which wasn’t obvious - ask your server if you can’t find it. The sauce bar was extensive with cold appetizers and fruits as well. One concern however is that some of the hotel pans were filled a little too high with sauce and since the end of the sauce ladles hook downwards to keep the ladles from falling in, a few of the ladle ends actually dipped into a neighboring sauce hotel pan. The restaurant did a decent job keeping the conveyor belt stocked except for the sliced fish, which took longer to come back around. Of course I could have just been unlucky with the tables ahead of us grabbing it. Overall it wasn’t a big deal though with other options passing by each second!
Hot pot was very good. Barbecue not so good. The meats were sliced way too thin so they cooked down to nothing. Without the different sauces, the meat would have been tasteless
10/10 my fav restaurant . All you can eat at lunch time for 23 and dinner 33. If you get hotpot you can add bbq option for 5 dollars extra. They have a conveyer belt bringing you the food which is great because you are able to grab what you want whenever you want . I recommend the kimchi soup with ribeye at lunch and for dinner the kimchi soup with wagyu
So much food. Came here for the all-you-can-eat dinner. I'm glad we had a group of six people otherwise we would not have been able to eat all that food. The meats were delicious and having the side dishes go around on a conveyor belt made it really easy to get what we wanted. My only complaint is that it was extremely hot. It would've been nice to have the vent turned up higher.
I feel like it's a hit or miss every time we've been here. Sometimes there's a long wait time and other times the place is almost empty. I like that each person gets their own small pot of soup. I like the sauce bar since we can customize our own. I like the conveyor belt full of additional sides/seafood/veggies. The only thing is these choices seem a little inconsistent each time we've been there. Oftentimes, the staff members are unable to tell us which cut each meat is. Sometimes, we wouldn't get the meat we ordered and would have to keep ordering. Regardless, this is a spot that I would keep going to.
Seapot Sunnyvale has been my staple hot pot place for years! I love the conveyor belt concept because you can try a little bit of everything from different meatballs, mushrooms, tofu, noodles, veggies, and more. I also like how you can also order high-quality cuts of meat. Beef toro is always our go-to order. Our server was attentive and always came at the right time to let us order additional meats. There’s a wide selection of soup bases that you can choose for your individual pot and you could even mix the bases if you wanted to. The diy sauce bar is always well stocked and has lots of different things for you to make your own sauce. I think this is a great place to have small to large group dinners but do keep in mind that only two people per table could access the conveyor belt. And if you have a group that’s bigger than 8 people, you’ll have to split up into multiple tables. I’ve gone to Seapot on weekdays and weekends, and it definitely gets very crowded on the weekends. But it’s great that you can join the Yelp waitlist in advance, and you could make a reservation for 6+ people. Highly recommend planning ahead if you plan to come here on the weekend. There’s a big parking lot but it can be busy during peak hours so allow yourself enough time if you make a reservation and you may need to park in the back and walk around.
I was initially concerned about the quality since it’s an all-you-can-eat restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised! The meat was fresh, and the fruits were sweet and refreshing. You have the option to choose between hotpot or Korean BBQ, which is fantastic. I opted for the hotpot, and it was delicious. As a Korean, I found the napa kimchi wasn’t up to par, but the cucumber kimchi was excellent. There is a 90-minute time limit, so keep that in mind. The only thing that could have made the experience better would be if the drinks were complimentary. A tip for future diners: make sure to register on the waiting list beforehand, as it gets quite crowded after 6 PM. Overall, a great dining experience with a fantastic variety of fresh food. Highly recommended!
A solid 5-star! I went there to try out the AYCE lunch special by myself and was pretty satisfied with the experience. The food quality was really good. I ordered 4 meats for my first round and didn’t make it to the second as the quantity per order was very generous. There are so many selections on the revolving belt. I tried some seafood, beef tripe, some different veggies and they all came in great quality. The self-serve sauce bar has plenty options including dipping sauces, cold dishes and fruits. And again, the quality was great. The service I got was nice and proper. My server came visit at a just-right frequency and provided service with sweet smile :) Love the food, service and atmosphere. I would definitely visit again with my friends.
Our visit to Seapot was delightful. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by friendly staff. We added our names to the waitlist, but to our surprise, we were promptly seated. Visiting on a Wednesday night, we lucked out as it wasn't too crowded. We decided to try both the hot pot and the Korean barbecue grill, and my favorite part of the entire experience was the impressive conveyor belt. They offered an extensive selection of dishes, including various proteins, vegetables, and carbs, catering to a wide range of preferences. Whether you're with family, friends, on a date, or dining with children, this place has something for everyone. We indulged ourselves and were pleased with the very reasonable all-you-can-eat menu prices. Parking was a breeze, with ample lot and street parking available. While we haven't explored their other locations, we thoroughly enjoyed this one, especially the slightly upscale ambiance compared to most all-you-can-eat places. We will definitely return for another visit soon.
Semi self-service. (Raw) meat selection for the table & personalized soup base are brought to you; the remainder (veggies, tofu & seafood) come on the conveyor belt. You pick your own side-dish sauces (buffet style). All you can eat but limited to 90 min. Meats were very fresh, as were the seafood, since we had an 11 am reservation (allowed for > 6 people; more on this below). Plentiful and speedy conveyor belt since we were the "1st shift" (get my drift?). I preferred shrimp & chicken (low fat), but was able to tear off the fat (yup, strip by strip if your diet tends in that direction) from the red meats. After a while, no one could tell what meats were on which plates! We thought the baby scallops were great: fresh and tender if you let it into the soup only for 15 seconds, yet they didn't toughen up if you left them in for a while. Shrimp: delicious & fresh, and you have a choice of shelled vs with the full metal jacket! The variety of tofu was really good. The puffy rectangles were especially nice since they soaked up the soup and softened upon contact with moisture. There were sufficient greens to even things out. We saw a group of Buddhist monks in the queue, so you know it's possible to eat vegan here. Some of the soup base selections were exceptional: tomato (so good!), mushrooms & Tonkatsu highly recommended (these all start with bone broth, I believe). Miso not so much (uninteresting). The soup gets more flavorful as the meal progresses, so it's better to get something not too intense. We secured a reservation with 7 people, but personally, I wouldn't do this again. The seating for a big group still places the conveyor belt next to only 2 people, so now those closest to the belt must continuously serve the rest of the table. It's too much. Far better to break up the group into foursomes. However, I've heard that sometimes they stuff a lone customer onto a table for 3. How weird is that? While the atmosphere is alright, the style of food service is such that it made for a feeding frenzy with no conversation (except to praise the food). If it's a visit you seek, this is not the experience you'd want. Or plan to visit another place afterwards.
Food and service was great, enjoyed the meats and the variety of soup options, also Sake and Soju. The veggies and other items on a conveyor belt is convenient. But it's really busy, long wait for the sauce/salad station, it's hard to manage the crowd, they do their best. We had gone for Saturday dinner, probably the busiest time. Definitely made it convenient by using Yelp wait-list.
Seapot Hot Pot in Sunnyvale offers a fun, interactive AYCE dining experience. You can stick with hot pot or add $5 for the BBQ option, which opens up even more protein choices. The rotating belt is a great touch—veggies, seafood, and other ingredients pass by constantly, and the small portion sizes make it easy to sample a bit of everything without feeling overly stuffed. The plates are refilled often, and the variety is impressive, with items like cuttlefish, razor clams, squid, tiger prawns, and more. We opted for the premium meat upgrade, but honestly, it didn’t feel worth it since the meat quality didn’t stand out compared to the standard selections. Still, the overall experience is enjoyable, unique, and great for groups.
Seapot is a ton of fun—great value with their AYCE setup. The conveyor keeps a big selection of seafood , veggies, and noodles passing by nonstop, so you can pick what you want as it goes. We easily had more than enough to eat—and the novelty of grabbing plates right off the belt made it way more fun than your usual hot-pot night.
I recently visited this Korean BBQ spot and overall had a good experience. The selection of meats was excellent - fresh, flavorful, and nicely varied (try the spicy octopus). The service was attentive, with staff checking in regularly to make sure everything was cooked properly and that we had what we needed. The atmosphere was vibrant and energetic, which definitely added to the lively dining experience. That said, the combination of loud music, the smoke from the grill pits, and the crowded dining room made things feel a bit overwhelming at times. It’s a fun place if you’re looking for an upbeat, bustling vibe, but maybe less ideal if you’re hoping for a more relaxed meal.
The arrangements for hot pot is good. A lot of crowd and there is a waiting. The supply was quick. The main ordered items were supplied in no time. The taste is satisfactory. The subsidiary items like noodles, mushrooms, quail eggs, mussels, etc are supplied in conveyor belts. Neat and tidy.
As an AYCE hot pot enthusiast family, we had heard lots of good things about Seapot. And having come a couple times before and gave up because the wait list was too long, we finally made it in for dinner over this recent Thanksgiving holiday. The decor is modern, sparkly, and appealing. Check out some of the attached videos. But to be honest, the food was a just okay -- at 8:30pm in a Friday evening, they had already run out of the Wagyu toro (which no doubt is the most popular and best cut), so we had to settle for the other beef cuts (and why would anyone want to order the chicken?). They were also slow to fill the dishes on the conveyor belt, which should have brought around some of the other nicer food selections like shrimp and squid. On the bright side, our server was very responsive and proactive in asking when we wanted to order more meats. And she ended up bringing us the shrimp rather than have us wait for the conveyor. Pro Tip: the shrimp with heads was actual large and premium tasting -- definitely a highlight if you can get it! There is a 90 minute time limit, which frankly is pretty typical for an AYCE hot pot place. And an oddity is that the drinks are NOT free refill.
We had a 7:00 PM reservation but didn’t get seated until about 7:40. In our group, five people wanted hot pot only, and one person doesn’t like hot pot and wanted BBQ only. However, we were told that wasn’t allowed and that everyone at the table had to pay for both BBQ and hot pot, even if they weren’t going to eat both. That policy was a bit disappointing. Another issue was that the meat from the kitchen came out very slowly. The conveyor belt kept bringing out other items, which helped, but we didn’t end up eating much meat because of the wait. Overall, it seems like lunch might be a better value.
Our waitress was pushy and seemed to always have an attitude. She was only nice when she handed the bill to us and once we paid she rushed us out but I didn't see her rushing anyone else out when they were done. It wasn't even a busy time when we were done. It was around 9pm and there were plenty of tables they still needed to clear up. We had to wait 1+hr to be seated and to have average service and being rushed out. It's really not worth eating here.
Do not come to seapot with a large party for KBBQ. We made a reservation for 6:30 and when we got to seapot we were told we were gonna have to wait up to 15min extra for the table. We ended up waiting 30min. The staff told us there were people that were going over the time limit and they couldn’t do much about it. Finally when we get a table, there is only one grill that will not be enough to cook meat fast enough for a group of 8. Even with cooking as fast as possible everyone was having to wait 5min+ for some food. A new term was created: “Beef Drought” to describe the lengthy periods of time after a round of beef was cooked.
Eh, it’s not common to see an all you can eat BBQ, especially near here, but I think its the reason why it’s popular; and not more so because of its quality. The reservation took so extremely long, and i mean EXTREMELY long for decent food at a high price. The soup was decent and there are different varieties, and the variety of meat is also decent, but i feel like because of how uncommon these sort if restaurants are, they have this prestigious reputation despite giving mediocre food. For example, despite being extremely expensive, you have to wait in a long line just for sauce like your in high school. Further, I think there was only one dessert option and it was these macaroon ice cream which cost $5, which i think is pretty overpriced for the quality and size. Also, if you don’t eat everything, i think you have to pay an extra 20%. All of these combined for lack lustre quality is the reason why i wouldn’t really recommend this place. 4/10
Yesterday we went to there for hot pot to celebrate our son’s 7 birthday. We had been there many times before, but over the last two visits we started to feel that both the service and the food quality had declined significantly. For example, the luncheon meat had a strange smell after being cooked, and the pig’s blood did as well—it didn’t seem fresh. Yesterday, about 20 minutes after he started eating, our son began to complain of stomach pain and lay down on the couch. A few minutes later, he vomited. After we got home, he vomited two more times and didn’t really eat much until this afternoon. He kept saying his stomach hurt, but he did not have diarrhea. My husband also felt unwell, though his reaction was not as severe as our son’s. We won’t be going there again.
Extremely horrible experience. Staff and waiter were very rude. We had reserved ahead of time and when showed up (on time) they canceled our reservation and we had to stay in line again. The waiter was so rude and would get mad if we asked questions. It was our first experience with hotpot for all of us and he did not like answering any questions. None of us were Asian and the waiter behaved very friendly with tables that were Asian. I will NEVER go back nor would I recommend to anyone. We all really liked the bartender (Shume if I recall correctly). He was a real gentleman and very helpful in guiding us what to order.
Terrible Experience dining here. We came here to eat around 7:47 sitting by the kitchen. The server is Brenden A. We have been sitting there for 10 minutes and no one came here to ask for anything in the first 10 minutes. And During the meal, our server didn’t seem actively serving to the customers. We asked for third time to refill the bbq meat and didn’t came out n not even in a system. The grill plate was also burning and didn’t show up to change for those as well as water jars and hot pot soups. But luckily I shout out to the girl server from our right side section. I forgot to ask her name. She’s very nice and the only one actively asking us what we want and helped us change our grills multiple times and bringing us the water jars. We really appreciated for the help from her. Keep it up!!Later, He showed up with the bill. I didn’t tip him.
