Great price service and quality compared to some of the other local places we've been. Like the option of bar downstairs and restaurant upstairs. Serving sizes were plentiful. Awesome that you can bring your days catch for them to prepare- bet the are packed in the summer!
We came here for breakfast while on vacation, the breakfast tacos were very good. I also enjoyed the beans, they reminded me of helping my grandma make hers. The server was polite and attentive. Dorado's has a cozy atmosphere right on the water, will be back for more.
What a great hidden away diamond of an eating place! Food was exceptional and excellent. The staff were all friendly and attentive to great service. Highly recommend!
You will have to look for this place. It's practically under the Surfside bridge. It hangs over the Intercoastal Waterway where you can watch the barges rolling by and the dolphins playing in the canal water. We told our server that we wanted to see the barges and he watched for them - told us when they were coming. We had the Dive Burger and Calamari. Both were good.
We had a reservation set several days in advance for 23 people, and upon arrival, we found that our waitress, August, was handling everything on her own. Despite this challenge, she did a fantastic job with minimal help from her coworkers. While the food was good, this five star review is simply for August's exceptional service. We hope management recognizes her hard work and takes steps to ensure better staffing in the future for other large parties. This would not only prevent overwhelming employees but also will provide customers with a quicker, more efficient dining experience.
New favorite place to eat in Surfside! Great food, great view, great atmosphere!
Nice place to eat and just hang out. We had brunch. Waitresses are nice and attentive.
We love this place. We always come here for lunch after 6-8hrs of fishing and this place never disappoints. Excellent food.
We had an amazing dinner here last week, service, food and atmosphere were amazing!! We sat outside on the patio and watched the sun set, we will absolutely be coming back soon!! Thank y’all for an amazing evening!!
The oysters were fresh and yummy as well as the fried shrimp and fries. The view was amazing and the service was great ! Thanks Shanda for taking care of us .
Food was good I got the 1 lb crab 1 lb shrimp with one sausage , two potatoes and corn for $25 not bad for around here I also got the mushrooms Swiss hamburger was very good but forgot to take a photo of that waa very busy the food took a bit but there was busy so I understand great place if you what good good and you can bring you dog
Laid back atmosphere and the adult cherry limeade hit the spot. I got the fish sandwich and enjoyed all of it while hubby got the fish and shrimp. Love how dog friendly they are- got each pup a dog patty and they were in heaven sitting by the water nomming on good food. Will definitely be back
The interior was a little off setting at 1st. Morgan, our waitress was phenomenal! And the food was delicious!
My husband an I come here often, usually in our boat. Today, he was fishing so I came by myself. First, the service was excellent. My server, Max A. was AWESOME! Next, the shrimp tacos and elotes were DELICIOUS! The tacos could have used a little more mango pico, but they were still DELICIOUS!
We hadn't been to Dorado's in a while, but decided to try it again today. OMG! Their fish tacos are AMAZING! Highly recommend it! My husband had the grilled fish and oysters and they were cooked perfectly. Hats off to the chef and Valerie for great service! ✨
Don't pay attention to the bad reviews!! Go try it for yourself! That's what we did, and we were so glad we did! We are new to the area, from Mobile Alabama where we can ride to Gulf Shores or just over to the causeway for fresh, delicious seafood.. we were craving raw oysters, already tried two different places looking for some... we saw Dorado's Facebook page and decided to try it... The place is off the beaten path, if you will.. but put it in your GPS and look for it. Great little dive spot, airy interior as well as outside seating, when it cools off It would be great.. when we walked in they told us to sit anywhere..we were promptly greeted by our server..I am the worst guest ever..I never know what I want..but he was patient and offered me a drink menu.. I like to try the "house specialties" when I go some place new, so I went for the "Dorado Sunset" because of its aesthetics, but it was fruity and refreshing. We got our OYSTERS.. AND THEY WERE EXCELLENT!!! And trust me.. we have eaten A LOT of oysters on the half shell.. we also tried the fried dill pickles and fried mushrooms..about like most..nothing spectacular.. but the shrimp ceviche was yummy!! Tons of shrimp, ask for some lime or lemon with it, it was just a bit dry, needing that kick... they were running on a condensed menu that day, I don't know if that will be the new norm, but they did offer some fresh fish tacos.. the fish itself was a bit bland, it should be the star..it got a little lost under the toppings and sauce, but overall was a great concept and flavor profile.. I would order them again, but with the toppings on the side. We are so glad we found this little place..we shall return for the OYSTERS!! And a crack at some of those other specialty drinks.
Cool Bar and Restaurant right on the water of the Intracoastal waterway. They have a bar underneath and a bar restaurant above. They will cook your catch if you like or a great selection of seafood, burgers and more. If you enjoy a drink or two they have a very extensive drink menu as well. I had a fish taco and shrimp Po Boy, both very good. The Po Boy had a LOT of shrimp on it, more than any other place I have had one in Texas or Louisiana.
I love Dorado's it's great food, u can dress up or show up in a bathing suit and still feel welcome the views are amazing. It's definitely my go to🥰
We enjoyed dinning here, food was very good, severs were friendly and knowledgeable, prices are reasonable. Situated on banks of the intercostal waterway-the views of passing bargers and fishing boats are always entertaining.
This place is very very good. I came for crawfish and was not disappointed. Kayla was our waitress and she did a fantastic job serving us. We told her it was our first time being at this place and she had no issue telling us what drinks they had and food. The environment alone is amazing. Good music and good people. Will be going again! Thank you Kayla! I forgot to mention. Dollar Oyster on the shell!!!!
Dorados was awesome and the spicy crab cakes are always a hit! Spectacular service!
Been going to surgside for years. I have to say this is my new favorite place to eat. Foods fantastic with the atmosphere to match!
I've been all over the world. It's hard for anyone to impress me anymore. Dorado's did, though. Stellar fresh grouper (the reason for my visit). Outstanding service (no, really. AMAZING service from the staff AND the chef.). Excellent pricing. I will be back every time I'm in Surfside.
Wonderful, friendly staff. Tried the Shrimp Jammers and WOW! I wish I had thought to take pictures but, oh well. We will definitely return!
Want to eat in Surfside, this is the best spot. I thoroughly enjoyed the laid back vibe of the Tuesday night. The kitchen staff was on point with the Oysters Rockefeller and Grilled Shrimp Tacos with mango pico. Hand crafted drinks and beautiful sunset rounded out the evening.
Burger was delicious. It was a very busy Saturday when a friend and I stopped in. Wait staff was very honest in letting us know they were a running a little behind. The wait staff appeared to be working harder to make up for crowd. Service remained great and food was worth putting fishing on hold.
Stopped by this waterfront spot in Freeport and ordered the fish platter. The view off the water made it a relaxing place to eat, and the food matched the atmosphere. The fish was fresh, well-seasoned, and came out hot with generous portions. Service was friendly and quick. Definitely a great spot if you’re craving seafood with a view.
first time at Dourados with my wife, my 10 years old son and my dog Poppy. immediately gave me a relaxed vibe, downstairs people are happy singing karaoke. Upstairs the place had some outside seating with a nice view, so we decided for the second floor. Service was good and the waitress was super nice helping my son decide on his order. Food was good and fresh. we had oysters and shrimp tacos. over all a great experience and we will be back!
For anyone looking for the best seafood in Surf City and nearby, look no further than Dorado's. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you. Best French fries and fried shrimp you'll ever tasted, plus the fried oysters are to die for. My family and I are already planning our next trip back including our dogs. We were able to eat at the lower level with them.
*update* STILL one of the BEST restaurants in Brazoria county = Best food, best wait staff, best views of the sunset. We had an incredible dinner. I am so picky (ask my husband) and I can't find one thing to complain about, when we visit Dorado's. We love y'all. We are loyal customers- for life.
We brought our own fish we had caught in the Gulf that day... And they cooked it to perfection! Definitely Hats Off to the Chef! Everything was delicious.. Loaded mashed Potatoes and a side of Street Corn. Yum! Service was awesome. Even though he was the only working that night. Price was very reasonable at $15 per person! Highly recommend ❤️

Awesome little hidden gem! Love this place. Everything is always amazing. Great atmosphere to relax at. Has a great view of the ocean. I always bring my son with me and he never seems to bother anyone even though he's a crazy little three-year-old. The only thing I don't like is the tap water lol. Definitely need to try this place for their burgers! They are spot on everytime.
Great place! All our food was hot, fresh and good! We had the fish and shrimp and the catfish plates. The fried mushrooms and fried pickles were yummy!
Food is great! portion sizes are good, not great. We sat at the tall tables and had to rearrange to find chairs that felt sturdy enough to sit on. They are uncomfortable anyway, so do yourself a favor and don't sit at those tables. 🤣 They seemed to be understaffed when we were there, but everyone was friendly and the wait for food wasn't too bad. The seafood is delicious! This is becoming a regular stop during our trips to Surfside.
There are a number of positives about Dorado. First and foremost, the service. Our waitress was kind, competent and friendly. I had badly bruised my thigh about an hour earlier, and my wife asked her if she could make an ice pack. I shrugged this off. (“Seriously?! I asked myself. “Why would my wife ask that at a restaurant.”) But the waitress said, “Sure! I can make one.” And she did. A Glad bag and paper towels. Then my wife asked if they had frozen margaritas. “No, but I can make you one.” And it went like that. Great service. The chips and queso were good, but the chips were a little thin/light. Toward the middle of the meal, they had become a little soggy from the humidity! I had the grilled fish tacos. (PSA: the “fired” fish option is a menu glitch; it’s supposed to read “fried.”) But the three tacos, generously packed, were excellent. The side of elotes was absolutely delicious. My wife had the fried fish, and she said the Tartar sauce was excellent. Fries were ok. The vibe/decor was ok, but not great. Dorado sits over a bar, The Well, and there’s live music, which admittedly can be a plus if you’re in the mood. I did hear them do a good cover of Hendrix’s “Hey, Joe.” Prices were good for market. Chips and queso was $6, margarita was $9 (!), but entrees were reasonable.
The food was really great! Our waitress pretty much ignored us after our initial order. She brought the food and drink. She passed us over and over, despite us trying to get her attention. I had to go to the bar myself to get drink refills. That was the reason for the 3 stars on service. He was really nice, as was the hostess. Atmosphere was awesome, had live music, very laid back.
Very interesting place. Restaurant on top. Bar on the bottom. Service was a bit unstructured. But the food was good. Atmosphere was so.ewhere between bar and hole in the wall restaurant (in a good way). After, went down to the bar and the staff was very nice (as they were upstairs also). Drinks were well made. Live music was a welcome diversion.
I like this place. Staff were friendly, and the service was very good. I ordered the Ultimate Bloody Mary, a dozen oysters on the half and 2lbs of crawfish. The oysters were good, but I've had better elsewhere. The crawfish were small, but were well-seasoned, very flavorful and juicy. The waitress dropped one of my potatoes, but replaced it with 2 more and an extra corn. That Bloody Mary, though! It was great as is, but I would have added a bit more spice (which is why I think they brought out the Tabasco with it.) The prices, service, drinks, and food were all good, and there's ample parking with the second lot. If the wind hadn't been blowing so hard it would have been a great day to be on the deck! And, there's live music in the downstairs bar! It's close to where I live, so I'll be back again. Can't wait to try some of the other items on the menu!
Fun & food! Drinks were great, appetizers were meh, dinner was good. Hubs had the Bloody Mary and burger - the pic speaks for itself! I had the shrimp tacos and Mermaid’s Water - not as fancy of a presentation as the hubs’ drink, but just as delicious. Live music downstairs, service to-your-boat if you wanted.
First time visitors. Clean, adequate parking. Appeared to be a local hangout as most folks went outside to eat. Food was OK, my skinny Rita was weak. Bartender kept tossing empty bottles into the trash with a crash. Nothing here to bring us back.
6/28/2025: We stopped in for a bite after hanging out at the beach. We needed a spot where my dog was welcome. The downstairs area is dog-friendly. The first level of the establishment is right on the water. It is very very casual. One guy showed up in swim trunks, a cowboy hat, no shirt, and no shoes. The area is open, so there is no AC in that part of the bar. They have large fans to cool the area, but I was still hot. They have large round picnic tables, high bistro type tables, and a bar seating area. The bistro tables have very uncomfortable chairs. They are those small metal stackable chairs. Some have backs and others have no backs. Even the tiniest butts would not find those seats comfortable. I stood for the majority of the time. Dollar bills are stapled to the wall and ceiling from previous customers each with a saying, a name, and/or the date. They have one unisex restroom downstairs. There was a line each time I needed to go. The crowd seemed to be locals and people who work there and recently got off their shift. I think that is pretty common in these type beach bars. The energy was happy and everyone was nice. They play great music. During our stay, I heard Elvis (twice! <3), ABBA, Willie Nelson, other 70's artists, and some country. They also have live music. We left before the set started because we had to get home to Houston. The service was good. Our waitress was very attentive. We had the ceviche and shrimp Jammers to split. The Jammers are fried with gooey goodness inside. 5 Jammers to an order. They are really good, so I highly recommend those. The ceviche was refreshing. It came with tortilla chips and a large slice of avocado. They have very good drinks, plus whatever you might like bottled. The two of us each had two drinks. Our drinks and food totaled to $56.00 before tip. Good place to visit. Can't do anything about the heat, but it would be nice if they changed their seating.
A pretty good experience while eating lunch. Not a fancy menu, but the food was good, delicious actually. We got to seat at the table of our choice and got a great view of the channel and the boats and barges going up and down while we were enjoying our meal. The waitress was very nice and polity and has a great time entertaining my 10-year old son. Did I mention that this place is very close to the beach and not crowded if you choose in-between hours?!
Drinks were good, the sampler was good, other food was undercooked
We are locals and have been told about this place for several years. We had visitors in town and figured what better time to give it a try. Clean, nice views and we had a great visit. Unfortunately our drinks had to be made twice as well as the table next to us. Not just one time but three times. Very disappointing because our meals weren’t so good either. I’m sure if we were there to jam out and put down some beer we would’ve enjoyed ourselves more. On the plus side our waiter was on it and he saved us from leaving without knowing it. Ohhh… each of saw several staff sitting up front on their phones in the main area by the bathrooms and they were dirty tables. This place could be such a great place. I hope they realize their potential.
Visited the other day late around 8:45p. Seated ourselves and waited about 10-15 minutes before our server approached the table. She took our drink orders and then preceded to forget who had ordered what drinks. 2 sweet teas and one half n half. We were informed that the kitchen would be closing soon, to which we replied, "we are ready to order now!" We asked for 2 orders of stuffed crabs, ceviche, the Derado grilled shrimp, Mac n cheese, the fried oyster and shrimp, and Oyster Rockefeller. While waiting, our drinks run dry, and I have to wave our waitress down because she hasn't checked on the table. Takes my glass for a refill and brings it back full but with no ice. I say ma'am can I have some ice, but she isn't paying any attention having been perturbed by the request. A few minutes later, I again wave her down and repeat my ice request. Now mind you, some time has gone by, and it's after nine, and the kitchen is officially closed. She comes to the table and says there are no oysters for the Rockefeller. I say "ok can we get another order of stuffed crab then?" She said " I don't know the kitchen is closed!" OK!, but you still haven't brought us any food yet, which means they are still cooking was my thought process. But fast forward a few more minutes passed the lack of service and our food starts to arrive. NO EXTRA CRABS! The civiche was watered down lime juice and all tomatoes. My grilled shrimp was overcooked and chewy, plus the bed of elotes that it came on was just canned corn with seasoning sprinkled on top. The Mac n cheese was box craft macaroni and we were left highly disappointed. My friend said the fried oysters and shrimp were alright but nothing special and the stuffed crabs were good but everything else including our service was trash! Bad food to go along with poor service does not make for a good combo. If I do decide to give Dorrados another shot I will just get the burger. There were a few more low points I could go into detail to on the service but I will let what I've written speak for my experience. Having said that I won't say don't go here, but I would just caution you to adjust your expectations and you judge for yourself....you might have a better server and cook on a different shift.
Wanted to sit somewhere outside on this beautiful Friday afternoon around 1:30. Walked into an empty place with a group of workers huddled in a group talking. All eyes on us as we entered. I I didn't get a warm welcome so I was glad to sit out on the deck. Ordered a the elotes w/shrimp and a cocktail but he said they ran out of pineapple juice. Ok, a Michelada it is. It was from a mix but I appreciated the spices. Would have been nice for that to be on the rim. The corn was frozen, I can tell these things. It looked like they microwaved it too because the cojita cheese looked melted. It's not supposed to be. And you would think they'd give us an even number of shimp since we were splitting the dish but hubby didn't fight me for it, in fact, I tried giving it to him. It wasn't great, make me ready for corn season so I can do it up right at home. Best thing was the weather & my lunch companion. I give them 5 stars for the music playlist.
Beautiful day at the beach stopped in for dinner. 😌Upstairs from The Well. On the deck while having nice dinner saw a dolphin playing in bay.😏 Shrimp was amazing but oysters grilled, not so much. Partner got the dive burger which was amazing😉 fries 🍟 are great, hush puppies small and over cooked. Got tea and soda but they were salty🤔 I think it was the ice but not sure.
Service and atmosphere were good. The building itself could use some maintenance. The elements have been tough on the building. The food could definitely use some improvement. Too many deep fried items. Very unhealthy. The default for many items is fried. If you want something grilled make sure you specify.
Food was average. We ordered a sampler appetizer & drinks, the food was served with no side plates or silverware. The staff was efficient though not especially friendly or thorough. The seating downstairs is pretty uncomfortable however being right on the water is so nice. They had karaoke which is fun, but I did think it was a little too loud in the smallish space. The large deck chairs are nice.
This is a bit of a mixed review. Starting with the food: tasted quite good. The fried chicken on the buffalo chicken sandwich was chewy - like microwave chewy. (I'm NOT saying they microwave the chicken) The sandwich tasted great. The fish platter was not a platter it was, at best, a plate and if I'm being 💯 with you, as I always am it was a basket on a plate. It was a single thin filet of catfish and a pile of fries. The blackened seasoning was great. The burgers were good especially the Dirty Dive burger. The fries were tasty as well. The service was great, friendly, patient (it was our first time) and attentive. The music was on the loud side. Now for the bill: 1st - come to find out 25¢ for adding lettuce to the kids cheeseburger 2nd $3 convince fee if you pay card vs cash on the upside the 1\2 doz oysters listed at $12 they only charged $10. So the food was decent service was good the bill was a disappointment.
The atmosphere is nice the restaurant is clean and the view is really pretty; however, our experience was subpar. The chips and French fries were the best part of the meal. The waitress (who might have been new, so I won't be critical of her) didn't know they had a Tuesday night special (I didn't know either until I looked at their Facebook page, after we ordered). She also didn't know what Texas beers they had on bottle, or tap. She was kind though and did provide a bar menu, she also brought more chips and refilled our drinks. Over all she did a good job! The staff was polite over all. The issue was the food. We (husband, friend, and myself) shared chips and salsa, the salsa is VERY sweet, almost like marinara with a few jalepenos thrown in. It wasn't the worst thing in the world, but it definitely wasn't great either. Our salads weren't anything fancy, big chunks of iceberg, with a few shreds of cabbage and carrot, basically straight from the processed salad mixes with tomato and cucumber thrown on top. Our food took a long time despite the restaurant being relatively empty. My husband and our friend ordered steaks both medium. When they received them the steaks were over cooked, the char was so bad all you could taste was burnt and bitter. The meat also hadn't been Seasoned prior to cooking. Our friends baked potato was hot and she said it was fine, however I noticed the potato was green around the skin. My spouse just had fries with his steak. Definitely not a $30.00 plate. My fish was warm when I received it, but the batter had lost its crisp which made for a soggy fillet. The fried shrimp had been fried so long the meat was rubbery and in some places even crunchy. The tarter sauce had a nice dill flavor, as a random positive. Over all I wouldn't recommend this place for food. If you want a beer/mixed drink and a nice view this place is for you.
Worst experience ever. Got seated right away upon entering. Waitress came by to get drink orders and starters and told us there may be a slight delay on food coming out because they were busy, no problem. That slight delay turned into a 2 hr. Delay. They had brought half our tables orders out after 1hr 45min and told us the other half the tables orders never went through to the kitchen so half us ate while the other half waited another 30 minutes. One order that didnt go through was a salad with no cheese due to allergies but after 2 hours it still came out with cheese. Im a smoker and during that 2 hr. Period i went outside to smoke 3 times and each time i did the cook was also outside smoking. Theres part of the delay and the rest was pure ignorance of the staff. Complete joke of a dinner and the food tasted horrible. To make things qorst the chairs are the most uncomfortable thing i have ever sat in.
Very unorganized. We were told that the downstairs area was family friendly and we were even directed to sit there by the staff, once we’d already sat and ordered they’ve threatened to call the cops on us for having children at the bar area?? Update after reply: We were sat down stairs before 9:00pm. The issue is the miscommunication between staff and poor customer service. We were happy to move after, but the staff was rude to us.
Don't waste your time going to a place that lacks customer service. Slow service and terrible waitress. She forgot to give us a number for our table after ordering outdoors. No drink refills were ever offered. Another waitress came by and gave us the wrong order after an hour wait, saying that's what's on the receipt. After waiting that long, just for two orders, we decided to leave. A po boy sandwich and 3 lbs of crawfish shouldn't take that long, after lunch hours. The waitress blamed the system, saying it wasn't working properly.
We got there to have breakfast before 12pm when it switches to lunch. The waiter passed out the breakfast menus and took our drink orders. We asked to order before it turned 12pm and the waiter told us no, he wanted to get the drinks out first. Then, when we finally got our drinks, and the waiter told us it was too late to order breakfast. We asked the manager and told us no as well, and that it was the kitchen that made the rules, okay “manager”. I told the manager that we got there before they sat this other table that got breakfast, but he told us that they were locals and they had texted him the order. Sorry I didn’t have your number… Then the waiter asked how many lunch menus we would need, can you count? Then my dad tried to order another cup of coffee and they ran out so he had to wait another 20 min for the pot of coffee to make, then waited another 10 min for cream to put in his coffee. Once everyone ordered lunch, they came out with half of the food, messed up my brother’s order, and then forgot about my step son’s order. In the middle of the meal, there was a bullet sound. My mom screamed. Apparently it was only a sprite, but the customers were in distress. It only got worse by the minute the entire time we were there. They knew they messed up when they offered us 25% off and free mimosas.
I ordered an entree of shrimp and oyster. I received a mound of french fries, three shrimp, and three that look like popcorn oysters, or maybe one oyster cut in thirds, no slaw, no salad, no side at all,two hush puppies that were maybe as round as a quarter. My dining experience was not good, to 30 minutes to get served.
Food has gone to absolute crap. Was served RAW shrimp which made me sick. Used to be such a nice place to go, not anymore unfortunately
I got takeout last night and ordered a shrimp po-boy. The sandwich had less than 2.5oz of shrimp and it was frozen salad shrimp that came from god knows where. I believe that a $15 sandwich should have locally sourced shrimp not shrimp from Vietnam. Not to mention these baby shrimp were so overcooked they were like chewing on rubber bands.
In response to the owners silly response: you have the wrong table. my tab was $160 with a $20 tip. and it was and addition $6.80 or $7 to pay with card. it was $150 something for cash and $160 something for card. your waitress forgot to put in app and entree orders (costing YOU money). I already sent back the fries as they were cold and I didn’t want to wait any more for a new burger, and didn’t want to waste any more food. ( also very very slow place) . You’re right, Kraft mac n cheese would have been better, this was worse than that. so check yourself and get your facts straight. your waiter did a terrible job, go spend time there fixing the issues, and again, your response was the wrong person and ticket! I stead of taking a fair and honest review personal, and lying in your response, you could have apologized and said something constructive. i’d most likely have come back and given it another try as we live here now. but after this, i’ve lowered it to a 1 star review and i won’t ever recommend it say anything nice about this place. waitress forgot to put our app order in. We had a nice chat about a pink / medium burger, it was so over cooked it was not great. The fries were all cold also, and she also forgot another dish from our friends. she never once came back to offer a refill. The mac and cheese is boxed craft and super dry no soft hot warm cheese. She also added 20% tip, which was outrageous for the service, and they charged an extra $7 to pay with a debit card! i won’t be going back
We came for vacation from Houston, the first restaurant we tried; the fried fish was very soggy no crunch not even deep fried, no seasoning, not enough of variety from each platter. The plates for costing 20-30 should have more on it. It tasted like it was stored for days and not fresh (frozen food).
We went on “Steak night” took forever to get our food. Shrimp was good , onion rings were just ok. Fish was nasty and slimy. The steak was worst than all . So tough dried out leather $120.00 for this. I do Not recommend this place. Save your money and go anywhere else.
Went here for dinner, party of six, followed another family of 4 into Dorado's. We were seated immediately and so was the other party of 4. Waited over 20 minutes, never acknowledged our presence or the other family. The other family of 4 got up and left. We asked the guy at the front desk if we could get served. We saw him ask a server to wait on us and she looked at us, rolled her eyes and was definitely not happy and made us feel that we were not getting served by her. At this point, we all got up and left. I will never ever, and either will any of the rest of us, ever go here again! As we were leaving we advised people walking up to restaurant to not waste their time.
We've been here 2 or 3 times... Yelp said it was open, their own website said it was open, but closed each time we were there. Not sure if we're going to try a 3rd time. My hubby wanted to go there for his birthday... and after getting there...we had to scramble to find a place that we weren't familiar with, (we are staying a few months in a nice RV park nearby.) So that kind of sucked. We did eventually find s nice place by the beach that was super good.
Wife and I came here with a few of the family members, service was trash. Waitress had a slight attitude, the grilled shrimp came out RAW, how is it even possible you undercook shrimp?? (they did discount that)..on top of it all, it is an automatic 18% gratuity are you kidding me? You think that deserves gratuity?? The rest of the food was okay but didn’t make up or worth any of that
really wanted to like Dorado’s because of all the great reviews online, but my experience was completely the opposite. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was disappointing—the servers were not just inattentive, but downright rude, which immediately set a negative tone for the meal. The food came out without any plates or utensils. The food did not make up for it either. The raw oysters were especially bad; they tasted fishy, unpleasant, and definitely not fresh. The other dishes we tried were just average at best, nothing memorable or worth the hype that so many reviews mentioned. For a beachfront restaurant, I expected much better quality and flavor. The seating made things even worse. We sat downstairs, which turned out to be a huge mistake because it was swarming with mosquitoes. It was nearly impossible to enjoy eating while constantly swatting bugs away. With all of these issues combined, the experience was uncomfortable, frustrating, and far from enjoyable. Overall, Dorado’s was a big letdown. Between the rude service, poor quality food, and miserable seating conditions, I honestly don’t understand how it has so many high ratings. I would not come back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal in Surfside.
