The cappuccino is a great place for tapas & drinks , plus classic Catalan & Spanish dishes @ reasonable cost for such a prime location on the rambla area of the city & very close by to the Mediterranean balcony , which has spectacular views of the Roman amphitheatre , so why not maybe combine both visits & make the day a really special one , it's up to you the option is there if you want it . The cappuccino has the option of alfresco dining on the outside terrace & it's atmosphere is relaxed & informal , so casual dress is fine , inside dining is available & the premises are more upmarket & might I suggest you dress @ least smart casual as it's more of a full on evening meal experience or a business luncheon style venue & an ideal place for a group of friends to dine or a romantic evening with that special person in your life ! . The decor is a fusion of antique & modern furnishings & fixings & the vibe is very relaxing & tranquil it really does have a very special atmosphere it really is quite the place to be seen . The prices here are reasonable & quality of food is very good & only cooked fresh to order , so please note that a traditional paella does take @ least thirty minutes to cook , so if you do fancy one maybe order a starter I'm sure when it arrives you will agree it was worth the wait ! . The tapas here is very good & the portions are generous & this is a quicker dining option for those who are maybe on a work break or for those who want a quick bite & then possibly want to explore the beautiful city of Tarragona & it's historic architecture & attractions & it's market's etc . This is a great place to drink & dine in pleasant surroundings , with polite friendly waiter/waitress & @ reasonable cost for such a prime location as before mentioned it could be your cup of coffee ! It certainly was mine . Popular with locals & tourists alike can only recommend .

The went to the place for a drink. It was surprised for the good food, a selection of good tapas and drinks. The bravas sauce was very good, the potatoes we got were very good but not so crispy. The staff are friendly but takes a little long!

The most welcoming place one can find. The food was excellent, the choice on the menu was varied, something for everyone, I am sure. The customer care of our waitress was beyond what one expects, we didn't go anywhere else. As someone who has worked in the catering industry, that must tell you a lot!

Fui a tapear con mi pareja y, tras plantearme irme por las maneras de hablar de una camarera (cuyo nombre desconozco) hicimos bien en quedarnos porque la comida era exquisita. Pedimos el "menú tapas" y las patatas bravas no eran congeladas y la salsa estaba muy rica, los calamares a la andaluza muy buenos y las croquetas eran de cocido, también muy ricaz. La relación calidad-precio es muy buena.

Elegante restaurante con un menú precio-calidad muy aceptable. Platos bien preparados con ingredientes de buena calidad. Camareros atentos y serviciales.

El lugar es muy bonito, la comida muy buena, el servicio quizás debería mejorar un poco ya que le pedí a uno de los trabajadores que me ayudara rellenando el jabón en el baño y nunca vino, pienso que deberían tener controlado que en el baño esté todo correcto, por lo demás todo maravilloso, es la segunda vez que voy y me gusta mucho la verdad, fuimos con mi familia para comer por fin de año y todos nos quedamos encantados. ;)

Estuvimos pasando el fin de semana en Tarragona y comimos aquí. Mi hija pidió arroz caldoso y se lo comió todo, Casi le sale el arroz por la orejas. Buen ambiente. Muy tranquilo. Recomiendo mucho un sitio donde mi hija coma bien.

Decent place to have dinner. Chorizo sausages were pretty good, but paella wasn’t the best one I’ve had in town.

He ido varias veces y siento decir que he notado pérdida de calidad en esta ocasión, tanto de la comida como del servicio, aún así no está mal y espero que lo reconduzcan ya que es un sitio tradicional en Tarragona. Tienen un menú de 19 € con unas 10 opciones de primero y de segundo, mucha variedad y algunos platos están ricos, otros son más justitos, incluye bebida y postre. En los postres sólo nos dieron 5 opciones, dos de ellos caseros, muy mejorable también. Yo comí salmón ahumado y Solomillo de cerdo al Funghi, ambos estaban buenos, otros compañeros tuvieron menos suerte, por ejemplo con la sepia o las gambas.

Trabajé muchos años en la hostelería y eso nunca se ha visto: tienes que saber con antelación si vas a comer a la carta o de menú para poder sentarte o bien en la sala de abajo o la de arriba... Si vas con más gente todos tienen que elegir lo mismo (menú o carta). Tienen menú a 23€ para la cena. La ensalada estaba bastante mala (todo de bolsa o de bote: la zanahoria rallada asquerosa), el arroz caldoso rico pero demasiado salado, el pan quemado, el vino de la casa muy por debajo de la media. Lo mejor de la cena ha sido el tiramisú casero! Los camareros intentan dar un buen servicio.

Decepcionante La carta promete variedad, pero es todo fachada: muchos nombres, poca realidad. La cocina cierra a las 19h, justo cuando la terraza está llena —brillante estrategia de negocio. Y si logras pedir algo, cuidado: muchos ingredientes “justo hoy no los tenemos”, como si el menú fuera un catálogo de coleccionista. Lo que finalmente sirvieron fue un bocadillo minúsculo que parece más un aperitivo que una comida. Crujiente, sí, pero más seco que una reunión de lunes. El café correcto y el agua… bueno, embotellada al menos. El ambiente del local es agradable, la carta bien diseñada y la presentación cuidada, pero cuando la experiencia se basa más en lo visual que en lo gastronómico, algo falla. El servicio no fue antipático, pero tampoco parecía interesado en salvar la papeleta. En resumen, Cappuccino Tarraco es de esos sitios donde uno sale con más hambre que con la que entró. Mucho envoltorio para tan poco contenido. Una pena, porque el sitio tiene potencial... si decidieran usarlo.

We ordered Two meals which came from the kitchen very quickly (too quickly!) My wife's was actually stone cold (pork loin and mushroom sauce) and mine was Luke warm. Politely asked the waitress if we could have them re-heated or some fresh ones. Same meals came back slightly hotter but only just. Teach me to check the reviews. Waitress was pleasant and did try to help hence Two stars.

Looks nice but the only house wine we had in Spain that tastes like cheap box wine. Beer did not foam, staff was disinterested in customers. Brought us the check after the drinks:) Decided to go eat next door.

Primeramente, me atendió un flaco rubio con cara de virgen que le pido la bebida y después unas bravas y me dice que no es hora de bravas. What ?Como que no es hora de bravas? En qué bar en el centro de la ciudad hay un horario para picar unas bravas con las bebidas? En segundo lugar, somos la única mesa que nos trae todo y nos cobra al servirnos, como si tuviéramos cara de que no tenemos dinero o de que vamos a hacer un SINPA. Y a las demás mesas les atiende sin cobrar inmediatamente. Flipo!!! Y para colmo ya el precio…. Que entiendo que estamos en el centro de Tarragona. Pero no tener bravas y me cobren y traten así es un robo! Nunca más. Y de regalo la jarra de cerveza rota por un lado! Thank 🙄

Los platos estaban fríos y se han equivocado varias veces con la comida. Les hemos comentado nuestro descontento y nos han respondido alegando que se trataba por un incidente en el sistema informático🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ Teníamos ganas de probar este restaurante pero hemos salido un poco decepcionados…

I had one of the worst dining experiences here. The paella I was served was completely burnt, dry, and tasted nothing like fresh food – it was obvious nothing on the plate was freshly made. To make things worse, when the bill arrived, they actually tried to charge me twice the price of the paella. When I pointed it out, the staff acted like it was a mistake, but it felt more like a scam. Honestly, the quality was unacceptable, the food was inedible, and the service was dishonest. Save your money and go somewhere else – this place is not worth the disappointment. Tuve una de las peores experiencias en este restaurante. La paella que me sirvieron estaba completamente quemada, seca y sin ningún sabor a comida fresca – era evidente que nada estaba preparado al momento. Para colmo, cuando llegó la cuenta intentaron cobrarme el doble del precio de la paella. Al reclamarlo, el personal lo disfrazó de “error”, pero claramente parecía un intento de estafa. La calidad fue inaceptable, la comida incomible y el servicio deshonesto. No malgasten su dinero aquí – este lugar es una total decepción.

Dejo esta reseña porque lo de anoche fue una vergüenza, cena de fin de año que pagamos 79e por persona y 30 por niño, con una calidad pésima.la mayoría de los platos llegaban a la mesa y estaban fríos. Una brocheta de langostinos al cava que llevaba dos langostinos y lo demás eran verduras y como estaban? crudas. Un confit de pato con parmentier de patata y frutos rojos,el plato vino con una base de puré sin ninguna consistència y cero sabor, sin frutos rojos y encima frío, como no. En fin, lo único que los camareros eran amables y encima tuvieron que estar aguantando las quejas de la gente por culpa de los platos que salían de cocina, porque mucha gente se quejo, hasta cuando ibas al baño la gente estaba hablando de lo mal que salía la comida. No se como no les da vergüenza dar una cena así por ese precio, desde luego que es la primera y última vez que vamos.

Also after telling us they would cut the food of the bill they didn’t follow through and were being difficult about it and wanted to let us pay the full price. A message to the boss and personnel: Step it up cause you’re going bankrupt this way.

Horrible place… Yo start with, they charge extra per product to sit on the terrace. Worst Service, the waiter woman was rude and we had to go inside to pay as she never cante after bringing the food. But what bothers me the most is the quality of the food… I ordered a smoothie with banana and strawberry and they brought me another flavor, color and definitely not the looks of a fresh smoothie. The worst thing is when I ask the waiter she told me it is what it is and they do not use fresh fruits but artificial flavors. My bad.. I choose a nice location without seeing it has such bad reviews.

They definitely don't like English people here. We were pressured to leave quickly when the bill was presented to us with our coffees. We didn't even get enough time to look at a menu. Unless local, do not try this place.

The reviews are so tremendously negative that I hope they will notice that this local guide will never step foot there. Yes, the waiters have bow ties. In the land of exquisite food and service in _every_ price category they have no excuse!

LOOK AT THIS AMAZING GENEROUS PORTION OF CHEESECAKE, noone will care about your weight and figure more. I gave this place another chance and they failed again. 2 years ago: In every place cocktails are different, but today i feel that piña colada lacked ananas juice and 2/3 of it was water. Probably i need to give this place another chance and try coffee just to see what they forget to put in it

ITS A SCAM!!! They have a sign outside with the price of 2.5€ for coffee and croissants, but on the bill in the end was charging 3.5€. the waiter said the sign was not supposed to be seeing because they were not doing that menu anymore (???). They also refused(!) to earease the sign from the street when we told them they should not leave it there if they were not offering it!!

Very weird experience. We sat at the table, waitress comes with menu cards, one minute later some guy comes up and asks where you from? Like it matters in anyway, that was not cool and very poor customer approach. I ordered pasta Bolognese which was horrible, very little meat and all soaked in oil, but on the other hand my missus ordered squid and she said it was best squid she ever eaten

We picked this establishment randomly without checking the reviews first - huge mistake! The waiters are slow and do not care if you want to order. Cappuccino was covered everywhere by cocoa powder...even on the ear of the cup. Spoons for desserts were covered in syrup so we had to clean them first too. Also BEWARE of their extra fee even for bringing the food and beverages to your tablet! They charge 0.15 € for bringing each plate/cup! WHAT A SCAM! You should rather just add extra 15 cents to all the prices and it would be better. Extra fee for bringing the stuff to the terrasse is 0.30 € for each product. They do not even mention this in English and just want to scam the tourist. DO NOT RECOMMEND. P. S. plastic straws are so outdated...

Epically bad meal. My husband and I were laughing as we left the restaurant. After mindlessly walking around looking for a spot to eat a full meal, this place seemed lovely. Nice atmosphere, and a full menu (with real meals instead of just tapas). We were greeted with a super rude blonde waitress. We decided to choose from the specials meal (only €16.50 per person and looked like a GREAT deal for a three course meal and drink!) She gave us a basket of semi-stale bread... and I had to ask for olive oil/vinegar. And then I had to wait until she came back to ask for a plate (so I could dip my bread with oil). So looking past that, we got our first course. My husband ordered salad and I ordered steamed muscles, yum! Except 75% of my muscles were raw and closed... so I waited for the blonde waitress to come back to tell her it was raw. After awhile, another waiter (tall man) took over the section and saw the plate and took it back right away. Great! We got a nicer waiter at this point and my muscles were going to get fixed. Yay! Nothing else can go wrong, right? Well after finishing our first course we received our second course.... which was epically bad. My partner ordered the hamburger with fries and I ordered grilled squid and vegetables. The burger plate was literally a microwaved meat patty with fries and ketchup (see photo) and my squid plate also looked microwaved. The squid DID NOT taste fresh AT ALL which is alarming considering we are right next to the sea.. needless to say we barely touched the meal. When our dessert came, my tiramisu tasted like it had been in the fridge for a month. His lemon gelato was actually pretty good (but he did remark that they probably didn’t make it 😅) We had to get out of there as fast as possible so we came downstairs to pay (where the rude blonde waitress was working). She ended up charging us extra for a drink that we never got, but we paid anyways just to get out of there and to stop listening to the waiters bicker at each other. 🤣 wow what a waste of a nice atmosphere. We laughed the entire walk home and as I write this I’m drinking some digestive tea because that meal is already not sitting well with my stomach 🤮🤣 Do yourself a favor and skip this place!! Or don’t skip it if you’re looking for some comedic relief 🤣 (don’t forget the digestion aids!)
