Off the Fire is known for its home-style Southern cooking and generous portions. Many rave about the chicken and dressing, candied yams, and sides like purple hull peas. The drive-thru only service and occasional inconsistencies in food quality are drawbacks.

This is a One Of One of places to eat....True Southern Cooked Food the right way....if you haven't ate here yet, then your definitely missing out....This is just a few examples of my plate that I have brought for lunch or dinner at my job to eat 😀 😉
Excellent down home food! They had many protein options and sides. The catfish was seasoned perfectly and crisp. The beef tips were so tender and match deliciously with the rice. Purple Hill peas and greens were top notch! We also were very impressed with the friendly and quick service considering the restaurant drive thru was about to close and had a line out to the street. Thank you, we will be back -The Goodwin’s
Saw their post on Facebook and thought I'd give it a try. My best decision of the day! Everything is so good and the portion sizes are great. My daughter says the candied yams are the best she's had! I loved the chicken and dressing. I will definitely return. The line was long but completely worth the wait.
Easter 2022 Feast! The line is always long, cause you know it's gonna be bomb! Friendly staff and amazing food. If you are coming through Wens to Sunday in Texarkana Texas. You won't regret eating here. 🤠 baked beans and cornbread a must! #Feast
Food is hot delicious and even the small portion is more than enough. Food is buffet style that is served to you. No waiting for a meal. Table service by employees bringing drinks to table. Anyone on a timed lunch break will be lucky to find this place.

If I could do half star then it would be three and a half but I'm not trying to be unfair with my opinion so I'll just put it at a four. Used to love this place when they first opened up it was amazing. But here lately it just seems like the food isn't the same quality. I am all for supporting small businesses so when I call to let them know that the chicken spaghetti was literally noodles sitting in a watery cheese sauce with a couple pieces of chicken and that it wasn't right that they were serving this to people because it had no flavor instead of being like okay thank you I appreciate the information I got well what do you want me to do do you want to come back and have us replace it or what? No I do not feel like driving back up there, I'm not asking for my money back, so don't understand why I felt like I was being argued with instead of just stopping and listening to your customers and fixing the problem. I was told the sauce would thicken over time, that they just opened up and that it was freshly made. But like I explained to the lady who got on the phone and said she was a manager I have never had chicken spaghetti that was served in a bowl with an airtight lid that you could turn sideways and physically see the sauce run to the corner, completely separating from the rest of the noodles, but then put the mashed potatoes and gravy and macaroni and cheese in a separate styrofoam container, It was more like a cheesy flavored chicken and noodle soup. After a few minutes a back and forth with her she starts relaying the message to someone else in the background and says hold on he wants to talk to you and at this point I just hung up. I usually get the meatloaf but decided to try something different this time since lately it seems to be loaded with more onions and celery. Not saying that I won't be going back but I will think twice about it before I do. Hopefully next time it will be a five star again. The first picture was taken after almost a 10 minute drive and the second picture was about 15 minutes after the first one so needless to say it didn't thicken but I will give credit for a clever excuse.
Still good dressing, but I can tell the cowboy baked beans were rushed today.. Had been two years, since I had eaten here. Still good eats for great price. Ty Team Soul yummies!
The food here is good. Owner is friendly & respectful to all customers. There's a drive thru window now. Drive up or call in orders welcomed. Fast service. Check them out y'all!!!!

LOVEEE THE FOOD! WISH THEY WERE OPEN MORE... I FEEL LIKE THE HOURS ARE WRONG BECAUSE EVERYTIME I SHOW UP AND IT SAYS THEYRE OPEN ON GOOGLE THEY ARE DEFINITELY NOT OPEN AND I GET MY HOPES UP
This was my first visit. The food is so good that I almost hate to share. But judging by the line most people already know. I ordered 2 oxtail plates. (Around $19 each) Unfortunately they were out of yams so I got purple peas, cabbage, garlic mash and Mac & cheese. The oxtails are smoked and full of flavor. The Mac & cheese makes you dance when it touches your tongue. It is drive thru only and there is a $2 charge for using cards. I'll definitely be back.
Me and my husband went here and the dressing is ok the food and the meat loaf had to much grease in it but so far it was good I will be coming bk

I was really looking forward to having a meal here with several family members because I’ve heard great things about it but I hadn’t been there before. We had trouble at first even finding the front door, but once we did we found that it was locked. There was a sign saying they only have a drive through. This doesn’t help much when you have an 84 year old great aunt and 2 cars full of people wanting to sit down to eat. We just settled on Dairy Queen instead since we were hungry and that was the only other option on that side of town.
I was excited to see this place open again after being out of the area and it being closed for covid. I was disappointed to see that where drive-through only you can't be inside anymore. I called because the first time I went there. There was no sign it was even still in business. But the guy on the phone was defensive in saying that he would have to raise the prices a lot more if he opened it back up inside . I didn't even ask him about that I was just trying to see when they were open and if it was drive-through only. So when I got there and went to the window there's a handwritten menu that's a bit difficult to read and understand. So I'm trying to make my order but the young man at the window was very impatient even though we were the only customer they had. He would stop every so often and rub his face and eyes out of frustration that we were taking too long to order. We got the food and took it home to eat. And it just wasn't anywhere near the quality and flavors that it used to be. It honestly just wasn't very good. And that's a shame because it was so good before. And they were so friendly previously.bad we will likely never give them another try.

I have always tried to support black own business but there is always that one thing that make most of us stop and it's customer service. As of today I will no longer support this particular business ever again. There are some really nice people there but I recommend you always check your orders before you leave.

Great food but they did not have good hours and when they are supposed to be open they are closed.
I’ve ate this place since it opened have always loved there food but called today to place a order n ask if once I get there can I call n they bring it out so I didn’t have to wait in the long line because they have always done the lady blew on the phone n then hung up on me I then called back n ask to talk to the manager to make a complaint she then again hung up on me so I definitely don’t recommend this place all through food is good there attitude is horrible!!!so they definitely lost my business for good!!!
I had such high hopes for this place, but it is obviously not what it used to be. Sunday, Mother's Day, was my first time trying the food. I ordered chicken and dressing, greens, purple hull peas, and meatloaf mac and cheese and cabbage. The restaurant is drive through only. There were several things wrong with our meals. 1. The food was Luke warm. It was NOt hot at all! None of ot was hot. 2. The chicken and dressing had barely any chicken, nor was it served with a piece of chicken. The onion and celery were cut too big and were still crunchy. Honestly, the flavors were just off. The sage was way overpowering, and I like sage. It was the worst "chicken" and dressing I have ever had at a restaurant! 3. The greens were not seasoned well nor had they cooked down enough. 4. The purple hull peas were not seasoned nor were they cooked enough either. They were still too firm. 5. The cabbage was passable, but needed more seasoning. 6. I asked for cornbread for each meal, but only received 1 piece of cornbread. 7. The macaroni and cheese was edible, but they need a new recipe. 8. The cornbread was probably the best part of this meal. It is made with white cornmeal, and was balanced. Not too sweet! 9. The meatloaf was cold and needed more seasoning, and it had on off flavor as well. The veggies in it were crunchy as well. I am not sure if the same people are cooking as the reviews I read raved about. The meals we got were less than passable and a complete waste of our money on Mother's Day. It is as if they rushed the food, and just really did not test the quality of ot before serving it. If you are looking for excellent homestyle cooking, then Dixie Diner, Prepping to Live, and Mother Kelley's are the local places to stick with. You can't go wrong with either of the three mentioned above! Please steer clear of Off the Fire. It will be a big disappointment!
VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, the inside of the restaurant is closed so you can only go through the line which is ridiculously slow, sat in the same spot for 30 Minutes! Multiple cars drove away…
